while the food was good, I ordered the paella which was supposed to have shrimp, mussels, grouper and sausage. it had no grouper and when I mentioned it, I got the grouper after I had finished my meal. No other mention of it by our server or the restaurant and no offer to take some money off our bill. So beware when you go there. read more

We have added Mo-Bay Grill to our go-to list. Having Jamaican food always reminds us of being on vacation, even more so when there are tropical drinks and live music. The spices in the curry and jerk dishes are so flavorful, it keeps me wanting more. Service has been excellent from Toya and David. There's a relaxed vibe that makes you slow down and enjoy. Authentic hand crafted jerk marinade drizzled crisp wings are the best jerk flavoring I've had. You could easily make a meal of these! Perfectly balanced flavors that hit all the right notes for salty, savory, sweet, exotically spiced with just the right hint of heat. The I Tal stew is a colorful blend of freshly steamed cabbage, carrots, celery, lentils, and chayote (a mango-shaped squash) cooked in a vegetable stock in a rich herbaceous ginger broth topped with a tall crisp curl of plantain. This vegetarian delight is a traditional Rastafarian dish, and did not disappoint as bold, bright and delicious. Pepper pot soup rich flavors and worth the try! Delicious chicken thighs cooked in green Jamaican curry and rice had well balanced flavors of turmeric, coriander, cumin, ginger, cloves and pepper. Oxtail stew in a rich, dark, brown beef gravy over garlic mashed potatoes and the freshly steamed vegetable side - amazing. Those oxtail though! Perfection of deeply flavorful and fall apart tender roast beef with lots of delicious collagen. Restaurant has bright island murals and warm lighting. All in all it creates a warm, exotic, island-flavored experience well worth having and highly recommended for hosting your out of town guests. We were the first people to enter the restaurant for the day. The bartender seated us at a booth overlooking a beautiful view of the water. We shared three appetizers and my son got noodles with butter and Parmesan. The mussels were delicious and light. The conch fritters were some of the best I've ever had; so good with their homemade dipping sauce. The only thing I didn't like was the spinach crab dip. It had a lot of spinach, but I didn't taste any crab. My husband liked it though. The pina colada was one of the best I've ever had; it came with a rum floater. Hubby's Bahama mama came with a Jamaican flag. All of the staff worked together on every table and all were so kind and personable. We truly enjoyed eating here. read more

Came here Sunday evening, with my parents before boarding a flight home Monday, as I was visiting them for the weekend. Located steps off the beach, with enough parking, Mo Bay is the place to be. We started with fried plantains for the table, and they were crispy and "gummy" in the middle, which is expected and delicious. I ordered the jerk chicken quesadilla and said I can handle the heat. It did not disappoint. The quesadilla was cut into 4 quarters and each bite had chicken and veggies in it, and the sour cream was the perfect relief from the heat. Next time I am in town visiting, I will be back. read more

What a fantastic dinner! I walked in on the earlier side to make sure I could park and get a seat (success on both). I first ordered the shrimp cocktail which was fantastic (five pieces of jumbo). I also ordered the jerk chicken wings. They were cooked perfectly and tasted great. For my dinner I ordered the jerk half chicken which comes with sweet potato mash and veggies. I really loved everything, though the sweet potato mash was too sweet for my tastes (brown sugar). But in any event, I would definitely return. I've never been to Jamaica but if this is what it's about, I definitely have to go there. read more

Went to Mo Bay Grill for a birthday dinner on a Friday night. We did not have reservations, and the seating wait was about 20 minutes. Once seated the server arrived to our table about 10 minutes later to take drink orders. Beers were poured short, and we asked to have them topped off. It was about another 10-15 minutes before the server came back to take our food orders. We ordered the Blackened Chicken Iron Sizzlers with side of rice & beans ($18) and the Jerk Chicken bow-tie pasta with garlic toast ($20). It was about a 20-minute wait time before our entrees arrived to the table. I had requested angel hair pasta in lieu of bow tie pasta, however it came out with bow tie pasta. Our meals were good, but the pasta dish came out at room temperature; not hot enough. We did enjoy the live kettle drum music while dining. Our server never came back during our meal to check on us or refill our drinks. We've eaten here several times, but our food and service were just not as good as we have had on other visits. The restaurant sits across the street from the Indian River lagoon so not all who visit will get a window seat. Their Caribbean food choices were good but I didn't exactly think their prices matched their food presentation nor portions... so it's not my top choice of restaurants in Sebastian. For instance, I ordered one of their dinner specials for something like $38, but it wasn't anything spectacular to make me want to go back there again. Decided to stop in due to the good reviews and proximity to the area on a Saturday. We started with the shrimp & crab dip which was honestly the best part of our meal. Our waitress also wasn't very forthcoming with the answers to the questions we were asking about the dishes. We ordered the pecan brown butter grouper, oxtail stew, and whole red snapper. The pecan brown butter grouper was the best dish of the three. The oxtail and snapper were very underwhelming as they were lacking in seasoning. I also ordered the banana rum cheesecake which was decent but the flavor profile was missing. Sadly, the price point of the dishes and what was presented did not match up. The restaurant is adorable. We sat by the window to enjoy the great view. Just across the street from the river. Our server was exceptional. The menu looked very interesting. A nice change of pace. The half jerked chicken was ok. The veggies were just ok too. They lacked flavor. The rice and beans were good. The grilled fish sandwich was soggy, cold, and also lacked flavor. The server brought it back to the kitchen for a reheat. Still just so so. The size of the fish was very small. The cucumber salad was good. We were exploring the area and trying to find a spot for lunch. This place came highly recommended and I'm so glad we did check it out. Their menu is extensive and from what we could tell they don't have any restrictions with their menu items given the Covid situation. Masks are required to enter and when you're walking around and staff are wearing masks as well. They have indoor and limited outdoor seating. We chose to sit outdoors which sits directly across from the inlet so we had a beautiful Water view. Not really peaceful as the main road is right in front of the restaurants. My husband ordered the chicken wings in a order of 12., minimum order is six wings. The wings are naked and then tossed with a Caribbean sauce. The sauce was delicious and could certainly help someone clear their sinuses. We ended up taking some home as the order was so big but that was kind of the plan. I ordered the jerk sauce shimp kabobs with coconut rice, veggies and soft plantains. It was so delicious! I had to remind myself to pace myself! The sauce is rich in flavor - not overpowering. I love the coconut rice presentation as it was fried a little which gave it more texture. I am not a plantain fan but I actually really like the plantains. The little bit of sweetness from them really helped to balance the jerk seasoning. Highly suggest checking them out! I know we are looking forward to going back in the future! read more

Wow what a great find! Was in the area and found this gem - Caribbean Jamaican food was awesome and great variety to choose from! Our group had the paella, coconut chicken, and coconut encrusted snapper. Everyone enjoyed their dinner, super tasty and delicious! Great presentation of all the dinners. Then we had the most amazing to die for desserts - key lime pie and banana rum cheesecake. Wow ! Being south Florida residents- we've had our share of key lime pie and this one ranks up there! Just enough tart and sweet with the most excellent crust. The banana rum cheesecake was out of this world as well! Service was on spot, attentive and even Chef Campbell came to greet us. In town for a soccer match and looking for some good seafood. Found this place that was fairly highly rated so decided to give it a shot. Very nice location which some views of the water. The interior though seems very dated and just dingy looking. Not a great vibe at all. Food was decent but not great. For the prices we expected great. Majority of the dishes exceed $20 so they should be good. We got the Jerk chicken, mahi mahi and a grouper sandwich. It was over 100 bucks. The grouper sandwich was mostly bread. Not much fish at all. The other two dishes were decent to good. Again, for a $36 mahi, we expect great and it just wasn't. Server was nice but very slow. Took a long time to even be greeted at our table. Drinks sat empty at times. Again we expect better for the price point of this restaurant. Lastly, be wary of paying the bill. The server stands over you while you enter tips. I didn't see until afterwards that they automatically add a tip amount to your bill. This is just tacky. I get it for large parties but the receipt says they do it on all parties of 1 or more. Yikes. With the server standing over you I'm sure I'm not the only one who missed this and ended up tipping more than I expected. Overall I wouldn't return here. It's high priced, poor vibe and the food is just ok. I'd have been better off at a chain unfortunately. read more

If your on the coast enjoying the views and want some good food to go with it. Look no further then Mo Bay! This is a traditional Jamaican restaurant owned by a native himself. He even comes out and greats the people eating and explains a little bit of the history. Very cool vibes man. Without a doubt this is the best Jamaican food in the state! The Oxtail Stew, Seafood Paella are two of my husband's favorite. I love the Apple Pork Ribeye, you can cut the pork with your fork. The food is amazing. We have been back a handful of times during our visit to Sebastian. The Philly Cheese Steak sandwich has a beautiful flavor, different than the average. There is something on the menu for everyone. Don't leave without trying the Banana Rum Cheesecake! Christina, the nicest server! She had told us about it the first time we came in, now it doesn't matter how much we have eaten, it's a must ! If you are in Vero or the surrounding areas, you won't be disappointed!
