Wait wasn't long for a weekend night and plenty of parking. We got the premium menu for the table. They start you off with the selection of 3 or 4 wagyu items. They were delicious!They also have different salts which pair nicely with the meats. The short rib was a favorite. However, I knocked down 2 stars because when I tried to reorder the wagyu beef belly, they gave plain beef belly twice. Overall this could be my new favorite AYCE KBBQ spot for the moment. Coming inside is very modern, clean, and chic. Wood fills the air. While it was a Monday evening, (and I can't speak on their peak hours) service was superb. Meat turn over was fast, sides replenished quickly upon request, and overall the staff is trained very well. Food quality is great, and the true reason for a great review. Every cut we had was delicious. It was some of the bet Gyu Tan I've had at an AYCE jawn. A huge plus is when you ask for "A LOT OF GARLIC AND JALAPENOS" they don't play. Their ssamjang and flavored salts are also very, very good. Don't forget to order them. Basil ssam is also something I've never had, but very happy to be introduced to. Another plus is they have their own Golden Ale. Solid flavor profile too. Price is on par with quality establishments, I would not hesitate to pay it either. The only reason for a non-perfect rating is that our steamed egg tasted burnt. It was cooked perfectly, but tasted burnt? That tells me someone didn't clean the pots, which makes me question what else hasn't been cleaned properly. I really liked the food. Good quality meat, and I appreciate that they focus on a more moderate selection of cuts that they can do well. Wish there were lettuce and radish wraps as well but the sesame? leaves and rice wraps are my top preferred anyway. Banchan was standard and good. And they top off your meal with a Melona popsicle! Very kind and patient staff, but there were moments where we accumulated a long wait time and had to check in for our order / some dishes got forgotten. We started with the beef brisket, which was flavorful and a great introduction to the meal. All of the dry aged meats we tried were delicious. They were super kind and our waiter gave us recommendations and was amazing. Some of my favorite cuts my far were the hand cut short rib 10/10. The Woodae smoked Galbi was also a 10/10 amazing smoky flavor and it was super tasty. Another thing that surprised me was the Wagyu beef belly. I'm not too into beef belly but omg that Wagyu beef belly was so good. If you dip it in the sauce on the side omg 11/10. Came in with a party of 11 at the recommendation of one of our friends who visited another location and wanted to try the Garden Grove location. The venue is huge perfect for a variety of group sizes. There's also a full bar that was nice to hang out at while we waited for a table. Staff was very friendly and accommodating which was super appreciative so we could handle billing after with ease. The variety and quality of meat on the menu blew us out of the water. We had so many options available for us to try, many of which you don't see at some more common kbbq places. Turns out there was no catch--just plenty of seating, attentive staff, and a clean space with TVs showing the game. They even had the banchan ready and waiting at the table like a warm Korean welcome committee. As for the AYCE meat, let's just say it met expectations and never once attempted to exceed them. We have come a couple of times, once with a smaller group that fit in one booth and another with a larger group that fit in two booths. Wait times have always been fair and we also got to choose the option of sitting at one big table for a longer wait time or two booths back to back for a shorter time. There is an outdoor courtyard to wait or a front area with a giant chess board (naur harry naurr!) The meats here are delicious, we always get the premium menu and love the: wagyu belly, beef tongue, wagyu delmonico, and large intestines! You can order 3 different meats at a time (we double order each selection). Definitely get all of the salts: house, truffle, wasabi.. they're all perfect meat seasonings. Basil Ssam also is a nice touch and pairs well. All the sides are pretty standard and do not stand out, but !! has everything that you want: corn cheese, salad, radish wraps, kimchi, etc etc. There is a full bar which is a plus because most KBBQ places do not have this. Ate here a day after Mother's Day and was surprised to see the place full. Ordered the "choice" all you can eat, and everything we ordered was delicious except for the marinated pork rib which was majority fat and not really edible. The banchans were all great, and they provide a bunch of sauces and seasonings and other sides like hot tofu soup and rice paper for free. The service was on point too, constantly changing our grill and checking up on us. I was pretty impressed with the whole experience and we'd love to go eat there again soon. This is one of the best looking Korean AYCE BBQ places. It's very spacious with a rustic modern decor. It looks fancy and casual at the same time. I generally avoid AYCE places because I can never eat enough to get my money's worth, and meat quality tends to be lower. This is definitely on the premium side for meat options, and so is the price. Menu option is simple. You can go with "Choice" or "Premium". If you go with Premium, you can get any of the items listed under Choice as well. I noticed most of the items under Choice are marinated whereas the Premium options are not. There is a 3-item limit per order, but you can oder as often as you like. Since it's been a while since my wife and I have been to an AYCE place, we ordered way too much. We went with seven items all together, but probably should've stopped at four or five. Toward the end it was more like running a marathon than enjoying my food because I was so stuffed. They offer ice cream (Melona ice cream) at the end, but I had to pass on it because I couldn't eat anymore. I lost track of what I ate, but the ones that stood out for me were Premium US Filet Mignon, USDA Prime Black Angus Brisket (spicy), and Thirsty Cow Black Angus Woodae Galbi. Only item I didn't care for was Wagyu Beef Belly. Sounded good on paper but it was just too much fat. It was like 80% fat so there wasn't much actual meat. Be sure to get some additional condiments, which are listed on the back of the menu. They just give you the standard soy-based dipping sauce and some salt if you don't ask for them. I liked the house made hot sauce and soy horseradish sauce. Service was friendly and efficient, although it may have been due to coming here before noon. I don't usually write reviews this quickly after leaving a restaurant, but Thirsty Cow absolutely deserves it. From the moment we walked in, the experience started off on the right foot. The hostess was the sweetest person and greeted us with such a warm, genuine smile that it instantly made us feel welcome. It's the little things like that that really set the tone for an entire dining experience. The service from start to finish was impeccable. Every member of the staff was attentive, friendly, and incredibly accommodating without ever being overbearing. Our drinks stayed full, our food came out quickly, and everyone checked in at just the right times. You can tell this team truly takes pride in what they do. Now let's talk about the food... absolutely phenomenal. Every dish came out fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. Nothing tasted like it had been sitting around, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. Every bite tasted like it was made with care, and that's becoming harder and harder to find these days. It's rare to find a place that nails all three--hospitality, service, and food--but Thirsty Cow did exactly that.
