I just wanted everyone to know Mobile Auto Clinic sent a mechanic to service my Rolls Royce Silver cloud in June of 2021 who ended up frying the electrical system in the car to the point where it won't start or even turn over. That mechanic tried to fix it but eventually gave up and would not respond to my communications. After some time I got in touch with the Founder and General Manager Benjamin Barchuh who said he was an EXPERT in auto electric services and had the car towed to their shop. At first there was a few text messages and calls trying to resolve this issue, but for the last year NOTHING. He has not returned numerous calls and text messages from me. I even told him if he didn't respond, I would have no recourse but to file suit against him and his company. This has been going on for over 2 years now. I had to look hard to find a car in this good of a shape with only about 45K miles and a near perfect interior. No blemishes on the seats or dash and the wood was perfect...not even a single crack on the veneer. Previously to them working on the car, the entire car, including the engine was looked over and serviced. The car ran great, which was even confirmed by the original mechanic from Mobile Auto Clinic before he started to work on it to replace 2 broken manifold bolts. This is my last attempt to get Ben and his company to do the right thing before I really sue him. I have very aggressive attorneys and they don't like it when people and companies try to take advantage of me. If this doesn't get resolved soon, I will update everyone when we file the lawsuit. This behavior, delay, and lack of communication are unacceptable and disrespectful and needs to be brought out into the light. read more

I ended up calling MAC when my car wouldn't start and my regular mechanic was already closed for the weekend. I'd never used them or any mobile mechanic service previously. I called and explained my car's issue with the person on the phone (Darren) at around 12:15pm, and was able to get an appointment for someone to come out at 3. Sure enough, the mechanic (Michael) arrived right on time and was very friendly and personable. It turned out to be just the battery and only took about an hour between the diagnostic, picking up the new battery and replacing the old, and test driving the vehicle. I'll admit, it WAS pricier than I hoped ($229 for the battery which isn't out of the question for my car, plus labor and tax brought it to about $350), but factoring in what it would have cost to have the car towed, I would probably have ended up at around the same amount. The fact that the service was excellent helped to take the edge off the overall cost. Obviously, costs will differ depending on your car's make and model, but Mobile Auto Clinic is definitely great in a pinch, and I would definitely use the service again. read more

Unless you are POSITIVE that what you are looking at is a small fix that you can't handle, this service isn't worth it. I originally called them because I thought I just needed a belt replaced. $300 and a new head gasket later, I still didn't have a running car. This took an entire day. They scheduled another mechanic to come out a couple of days later. He never showed during the original (or 'rescheduled') appointment time, and then I couldn't get a hold of anyone on the phone to give me any answers. The reason the service is less handy than you think is that you have to BE AT HOME for them to work on the car. It's like waiting on a cable guy. Then, if they don't have the tools necessary to fix the car, you're still going to have to pay them for the work they did AND pay to have it towed in to a garage. My suggestion: tow the car to an actual garage. It will save you time and money. read more

I left for the barber shop in my 2006 manual-transmission Ford Ranger, but at the first stop sign, I found I could not shift into a different gear. With the engine not running, I was able to shift into third gear, then start the engine while in gear, and limp back home. This was on a Friday before the 3-day Veterans Day holiday weekend. My wife was out of town, so I rented a car for local errands. I had not needed a major repair on an immobile vehicle before, so I exercised due diligence and checked out Yelp for comments. There were comments, both good, bad, and in-between, but Mobile Auto Clinic checked out for on-site diagnosis, shop located nearby, and competent repairs, so I contacted Mobile Auto Clinic who could diagnose the problem without having to move the truck. With the Ranger safely home and a rental car available, I was no longer in an immediate hurry, but I needed the truck fixed before 4:00 PM Monday to both turn in the rent car and make an evening appointment. Ben agreed to, and did, show up at 9:00 AM Sunday. Within minutes, he had diagnosed the problem. I was hoping for an easy linkage adjustment that would fix the problem, but, unfortunately, it would not be a quick fix, and I arranged for a noon tow to his shop less than 5 miles distant. Ben promised the repairs by the afternoon of the next day, Veterans Day. Major repairs completed the next day on a holiday weekend? I was skeptical! In addition, Ben suggested replacing other clutch parts while everything was disassembled. With nearly 100,000 miles on the vehicle, the additional $200 for a new clutch seemed like good advice, and I agreed. Once the repairs were completed timely, Ben also agreed to meet me at the rental car office where I was able to get the rent car back in time to avoid an additional day's charge and make my evening appointment. The repaired clutch worked fine on the trip back home in heavy traffic. Mobile Auto Clinic exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend them. read more

I'm a college student and was just getting out of class today when I realized I had a flat. I had a group presentation in 30 minutes that was a big portion of my grade for that class. I was pretty much freaking out and couldn't believe what was happening. I called AutoMedic and explained my situation. They sent someone pretty much immediately. I was on campus and they had a mechanic there within 10 minutes. The guy was really nice and fixed my car ON SITE. I'm not sure why the previous comment says "you have to be at home for them to service you". This is NOT true at all. They will come help you wherever you are. I was able to pay over the phone while I waited for the mechanic, which saved a ton of time. Both the operator and the mechanic we're super friendly and I would highly recommend this service to anyone in need of a mechanic. Horrible service! Rip off ! Fraud! Beware! Total scam ! Negligent , unprofessional work and get ready to waist time, money and having more problems with the car after the repair. They will not issue any contract, authorization of diagnostic, work repair, work agreement, warranty or detailed receipt They will not finish the work ever. If you are living in surrounding areas of Austin instead of $84 for diagnostic you will pay $125 . We have got an agreement for another appointment for the mechanic to see the issues after the repair, but they didn't call that they are not coming at all and I have been waiting. I called them to find out that They are not going to come, if I don't remove the reviews first I posted regarding their services. They threatened me to file criminal charges for my reviews on different social medias. They were supposed to come and find out why the check engine light turned on after the repair, and why is that noise and vibration came after the repair when turning the ignition key. It because the mechanic placed other knock sensor and took the original one. That is why he was looking for parts more than 2 hours and that's why it took him 3 hours and 30 min to replace the starter and 30 min for the gasket. The mechanic took also my old starter without my authorization, I didn't saw a new gasket replacement, so I should most probably redo at least the gasket and the knock sensor who is responsible for the engine light the vibrations and unusual noise coming when turning the ignition key to start the engine. This one of the worst experience I ever had. I have been excessively charged $687 for gasket and starter replacement and left with check engine light on because of illegal replacement of the knock sensor. read more

Dennis was really helpful on the phone and listened to the symptoms I observed to make sure the mechanic onsite would have what's needed. He was very informative about the probable issues and pricing. He scheduled a mechanic to visit me onsite in an hour. Michael arrived on time. He was very friendly and helpful. He walked me through the checking process and found that it was the battery. He replaced the battery and ran additional tests to make sure that the problem was fixed. I was good to go again 90 minutes after the first call with Dennis. These guys are awesome and they definitely are offering great value for money! I'll definitely call them again for future issues. The starter went out in my other vehicle so I called these guys late on Saturday and they came out first thing on Sunday morning. Tim diagnosed the issue in a jiffy, even though the engine in my little foreign car was built very tight and the starter seemed to be in the center. Gave me a quick quote, which was much lower than what I researched online from other mechanics. I felt sorry for Tim b/c he had to practically dismantle a chunk of the engine to get to the starter but he got everything done and the car seems to run better than it has in a long time!! I hired mobile clinic of Austin to inspect a used 2010 Toyota Corolla I was going to buy on September 27, 2019. The technician arrived at 5:24pm to inspect the car and was finished at 5:58pm (I know the exact times because I was texting with the owner who was in her apartment at the time). I'm no mechanic, but I thought this was pretty quick to give enough time to thoroughly assess the condition of the car. The technician recommended two minor repairs that the car needed. While he was in his truck about to leave, I knocked on the window to ask him about the condition of the tires. He got out to look. It was pretty obvious he hadn't even looked at them. He eyed them over and said they have about 5,000 miles left on them. I'm still curious as to how that was determined. I was told that I would get a detailed report on the inspection of the car, but was only given a repair estimate for the two repairs he recommended. I purchased this car for $5,500 for my daughter who is learning to drive. I would have really liked to know about the condition of the brakes, how much life was left in the battery, and any comments on the rusting roof and if that would pose a problem, etc. I also discovered a chip in the front window after I drove the car home. I purchased this car for $5,500 based on this technician's assessment of the condition of the vehicle. Around October 20th, the front bumper starting falling off. I spoke with a body shop and was advised that the car was actually missing parts that held the bumper on. They put a couple of screws in to hold it in place until I can get it repaired, which I did at the cost of $259. We barely driven the car since I purchased it as it is used for teaching our daughter to drive. While I was refunded the cost of the inspection, that is not going to be enough to cover repairs. If the transmission is bad, that could mean a couple of thousand dollars to repair. When I turned the windshield wipers on when it rained last time, one of the windshield wipers just fell off. Like I said, we've only been driving this car occasionally to teach our daughter to drive. We went to open the trunk the other day and discovered that you cant open the car with the lever inside. We opened it with the key and discovered that the weather stripping that goes around the trunk is falling off. I am absolutely livid. I did get my inspection fee back, but that's not going to begin to cover all of the repairs. I would have never purchased this car if I knew about all of this. Oh, the body shop also said that the car had been in a wreck at some point. I filed a complaint with the BBB, but the company never responded to them. They currently have an F rating with the BBB. The company also never responded to a previous complaint against them. I was totally ripped off. read more

After 5 hours of dealing with incompetent AAA technicians and tow companies, I called Austin Auto Medic. I left my Mini Cooper S In the parking garage over night. AAA failed miserably to properly diagnose the problem or properly tow the car from the garage (that's a whole story in itself). Ben from Austin Auto Medic came out to the Austin City Hall Parking garage early on a Sunday morning and properly diagnosed and repaired my Mini Cooper S within 1.5 hours. There was no need to tow the car as he repaired it in the parking garage! The proper diagnosis was a dead battery (yes it was tested by AAA) as well as failed key fob connection. Ben from Austin Auto Medic was truly professional, reliable, responsive as well as a master at his craft. He effortlessly saved me from the most frustrating auto repair situation. I feel Austin Auto Medic also saved me time and money as he car was repaired on a Sunday allowing me to cancel the rental car for Monday morning. Austin Auto Medic rates are reasonable and I'd highly recommend them over a AAA membership. I've got his entire contact information in my cell and have deleted out AAA. AAA is absolutely useless in comparison to Austin Auto Medic. read more

Take the money & run. I was charged $1330 (including tips) for repairs that were never completed. My Jeep's repair was never a priority. The mechanic (Tim) on the project came out for 2 hours at a time, only to dash off to a more pressing & lucrative job. Customer service is horrendous. Good luck getting Ben or anyone else to give you a head's up on anything. I was promised that the mechanic would be out first thing the next day to finish job. Two days passed and nothing. No phone call, text, or anything. The mistake I made was paying before the job was finished. Though the mechanics employed by this service are very skilled and top flight, the total lack of follow through, absence of communication and clear disinterest in making sure your project is finished, does not warrant recommending them in any way. Looks like I will have to go to small claims court to remedy things. Steer clear of Austin Auto Medic. UPDATE: Ben got in touch with me and the repair is 95% finished. He also refunded $150 as a goodwill gesture. The mechanics associated with this service are top notch. Tim is one of the best mechanics I have ever had work on my vehicle. Make sure to communicate clearly & early to ensure you are on the same page. If you can do this, you won't regret working with these guys. read more

They will go the extra mile - literally. I needed an alternator replaced right away, and we actually live a bit outside of their service area. I initially called another mobile mechanic service for help - wrong decision. On the very day this other company was supposed to show, they canceled. I then called Auto Medic; not only was Ben exceptionally responsive and sensitive to my schedule, they were able to come to my location the same day even though it was getting late. Darren arrived to my location within 2 hours, and fixed my alternator while using a lamp! There was a slight charge due to our distance outside of their area, however, they communicated that upfront. Long story short, I was on the road the next morning, perfect timing for a meeting. I'm a believer in giving honor where honor's due - these guys are the real deal. Really poor customer service & follow-up. I Bought a brake upgrade kit for my truck. I called Ben the owner of Mobile Auto Clinic to see if they would install customer supplied parts and he said yes. I worked with Ben via phone calls and e-mail to ensure I ordered the correct parts so he didn't send a service tech out and waste time if I ordered incorrect parts. All the parts checked out. I asked Ben to send me his certificate of insurance in case his tech was injured at my home I wanted to ensure I wasn't liable. Ben said he would send proof of insurance the night before his tech showed up but he didn't. I followed-up with Ben the next morning and he said he had a family obligation the night before and didn't have time to send insurance but he would that morning. He didn't follow-up a second time and then the tech showed up. Tech was a nice guy but asked me what a certain part was. I explained they were brake caliper boots. I had a pre inspection buy for 2003 Toyota Tundra. I wanted to make sure I didn't buy something that would need major repairs right away. I had a tech check out the truck and he noticed that the coolant was low. He mentioned he was a little worried about it, but didn't investigate the problem more. I drove it back to my house after I purchased it. Let it sit in the the driveway for about 4 days. I checked the coolant and it was extremely low. I take off the skid plate which takes less then 5 minutes. Turned on the truck and noticed a major coolant leak. I can't exactly see where the leak is coming from but it obvious it's leaking a lot. If the tech would of taken an extra 5 minutes to take off the skid plate this would of been caught easily because all the coolant was being caught on top of the skid plate or I wish a coolant pressure test was done . If I knew I needed a major report like this I would of just gone to an auction and gambled. I would of probably gotten a vehicle for much less. Only reason I gave 2 stars not less is because the tech was friendly and very nice. The appointment process was fairly quick and easy to make . For a pre inspection buy please stick to Firestone. I called out of state to get a car report on a vehicle that I wanted to purchase. I was quoted $120 for inspection and report. The mechanic did the inspection and called me. He told me the condition of the vehicle and I asked if he would be sending me the report. He stated he would send the report and pictures. I never received a report or pictures. Benjamin sent me an invoice and asked me to pay for it. I stated I never received a report and Benjamin stated he would get me the report and pictures as well but asked if I could go ahead and pay the invoice in the mean time. I went ahead on good faith and paid the full amount despite never getting the report I had paid for. I reached out several times and never got the report even after I paid. After multiple attempts to contact Benjamin, I reached out to my credit card company and asked them to refund 1/2 the money because I felt the job was half complete. I thought this was more than fair on my part since the report and pictures is what I was after and not necessarily a verbal confirmation on the vehicle's condition. They credited me the money did but then Benjamin reached out and stated "Cardholder claim is invalid. Pmt is good/services rendered. CH voluntarily entered pmt info through Square secured online payment. CH (cardholder) has no basis for disputing this charge as CH received good/services and remains in possession of good and services." Based on this they rejected my claim for which I could have followed up and provided documentation of my phone calls and emails requesting the report I never received. For $60 it wasn't worth it go try and get my money back. Ben never reached out or tried to get me my report or even explain what happened after he collected my cash. The fact Benjamin stated that I received my goods and services when I made a good faith gesture to pay him should tell you about the type of person you are dealing with. I wouldn't trust someone that isn't diligent enough to send a simple report that was paid for but was willing to write to a credit card company and lie. read more
