The static and popping sound in my wife's car was starting to drive me crazy. One speaker worked, then another. It's not like the system was a dud. In point of fact, she had it professionally installed after buying the car several years back. Unfortunately its better days were behind us, and we never knew what new annoyance it had in store for us. But, I did know that the trek from Kapolei to Honolulu was killing me without some music to numb the mind. Honestly I don't know how my wife survived in silence for 2-hours a day. I only occasionally ride with her and I was ready to pull my hair out. Yesterday, I decided it was time to bite the bullet and do something about the problem. We called around to several places and never felt comfortable with the services they offered. One even said they required a deposit over the phone just to setup an appointment! We checked Yelp and Mobile Car Audio had some good reviews, so we gave them a shout. They told me they could checkout the car straight away, so I headed their way. There was a little problem solving charge, but it was reasonable: takes time to figure out the malfunction. It took about 20-minutes or so, but their recovery room was nice, the music was great, and these folks love their A/C. When they finally figured out the challenges, they gave me two options. One was a simple fix; the other cost a bit more because more work was involved. They weren't sure if the first option would guarantee a fix, but I decided to take a chance and side with keeping the cash in my own pocket. After another 20-minutes, the tech came in with a big grin. "Shoots, we got this one!" You know what? They did. The fix was cheap, but the system sounded like it was brand new: And my wife told me I was the best husband ever for getting it fixed. Score one for me! No telling what another shop would have charged me. They could have leaned on me and cost me a pretty penny. Mobile Car Audio solved it all and made a customer for life in the process. read more

Everyone was super nice! We walked in and everyone had a smile on their face. Joey was super helpful in explaining everything & the process they were going to go through when fixing my hubbys car. My hubby's car: super awesome sound system. However, the person who originally had it wired either did it themselves, or they had someone do it, & they did a s**ty job. They didn't do a very good job. So when we turned the steering wheel you could hear frequency between the radio & the computer of the car. Quite annoying. & because of it, our door speakers cut out. Joey quoted us for the 4 channel amp, re-wired the WHOLE car, & labor for VERY reasonable price! We heard about this place from a friend who had work done, & the work was fantastic. I googled up car alarm and this place came up. I'm having problems with my car alarm and the original place I went to get my alarm wanted $600 for 2 new remotes for the alarm or $685 for a new alarm. I called Mobile Car audio and spoke with Tracy and explained my situation and she said I can bring my car and it doesn't sound like a big problem and it's about $75 to fix. She was so open and said it jus may need to be reprogrammed. I was recommended to come here to install my foglights for my first gen RSX. The lady who owns this place was very helpful and friendly, and even though I had to wait for their electrical guy to look at my foglights, I didn't mind. Now the scary part, all first gen RSX owners absolutely dread the idea of cutting their bumper for the foglights, and the electric guy himself was even a little hesitant himself; but in the end it came out FLAWLESS. The cutting was perfect, the wires were neatly tucked in, and he even provided me with some bumper clips because I was missing some. Overall I paid a little more than what I would've liked, but I guess the labor justifies the cost. These guys do alarms, sound, and lighting; so I'll definitely be here again to get some new speakers for my Prelude. read more

The service was excellent! Treated like family. 1. I stopped by and asked for an estimate. Tracie was so pleasant and asked all the right questions. What kind of music do I listen to. What is my target goal etc... I simply told her the days of Boom Boom Boom where my license plate shakes and the dirt / rust falls off.... is in the past. I wanted a rich deep base (Getting old and kinda deaf already). She helped me custom a system that would fit my truck perfectly. I told here I've already installed aftermarket speakers to the doors etc... she was like. Not a problem at all. What surprised me was... she told me if I bought anything else to bring it in and they are more than happy to install it for me. I was shocked... they were not trying to sell me this & that and other things to make more $$$. I thanked her for the estimate and left. Searched around and two other vendors had higher estimates etc... So I called her the next week to schedule my appointment and it was super easy. Made the appointment... paid the deposit... all pau. 2. Installation day... I arrived early. They were not opened yet. One of the installers was there. I gave him my keys. (Had to leave for work). I was thinking...hmmm maybe I should call to make sure... you know... and literally.... my phone rang... It was a number I've never recognized. Hesitantly I answered and it was Ryan from Mobile Car Audio! Wow.... didn't expect that! He advised me that my truck was in and they are getting started and will call me when it is ready! He also notified me that my front driver door speaker was not working. I asked him if he could help me take a look and let me know it something else was broken and if I needed to purchase replacement speakers. Ryan was like absolutely! 3. The installation took about 4 hours as expected. Ryan had called as they ran into a little issue with my truck. Apparently there was two brackets that was sticking out a tad bit much and the 12 inch Rockford Fosgate Punch (Ok...yes...maybe a bit BOOM was needed) was not able to fit snugly. Ryan suggested two solutions and it was super easy. He took care of it and everything was moving forward again. He also advised that the wire connection had fallen off and that's why my front speaker was not working (That was my DIY installation...lol). He reconnected and tighten the connection for me. Woohoo!!! I called to check in and Ryan advised... you hear that music in the background! "Yes!" that's your vehicle. It is sounding phenomenal! I must admit I was excited now. He told me they are just about finish and I could come down. When I arrived... Ryan greeted me and walk me over to my truck. Walked me thru the installation...explained what happened. Then the moment of truth... lets listen to it. WOW! ok and I did not expect the result. I had the option of Boom... Boom Boom.... or living my 20's with the BOOM BOOM BOOM. holy smokes! The system was awesome! I've looked under my seat and the wiring was all very tightly and neatly done. Wires were all ran, tied, tucked.... it was a very clean installation. So...if your reading this review... I suggest you to head down there and talk to them. Totally a family atmosphere! The experience was not what I had expected. It was beyond my expectation. Still a good place to get an honest deal and things like basic installs on alarms and sounds. Showroom looks fairly basic but staff was friendly enough. You're not going to get the grand tour of their lines, but there are a few things to mess with on the wall as you paruse or wait for an install. Gone are the days of custom installs, which is a shame. Installs are done in open air (but covered) lot attached to the building complex. read more

Great experiences at Mobile Car Audio. First had a laser jammer and some other electronics wired about 2 years ago, great job and zero problems since. They also installed amps and a head unit for me with great results. Joey did a great job and was very professional, took the time to do it right and used all quality materials (quality gauge wire, not the cheap stuff like many places). Also took the time to tune the system right, and re-tune it for free after I replaced some speakers and came back in (do the easy stuff myself... when it gets complicated I go to these guys... they'll treat you right, provide good free advice, and not rip you off). For the one guy who gave them one Star for being closed on Sunday... duh, they're closed on Sunday, what a surprise! Also a guy on Yahoo who complained about prices for components and wiring kits being higher than Amazon... duh, of course they are, this is a small business and they don't have Amazon's inventory and you're paying to have the items on hand, they have to make some profit or they won't be in business. read more

I found myself with a factory car alarm that was no longer working and decided to get it replaced with an aftermarket one. I logged on to Yelp to search for car audio places near me and came across Mobile Car Audio. I used to sell car audio and alarms years ago so I know how some salespeople can be. The Yelp reviews I read about the store were good but I always have my guard up, so to speak. I arrived at their location and was quickly greeted by Joey who told me he would be right with me. It was literally less than 10 seconds before he acknowledged me; 1 point for these guys in the service category. About a minute later, Joey appeared and asked what he could do for me. I told him I wanted an alarm for my car...something basic since I felt I didn't require a whole lot of bells and whistles. Joey took me inside the shop and laid out a few options. He was obviously very knowledgeable and confident (but not cocky) when he spoke; I like that in a salesperson. During our conversation, Joey carefully made sure he recommended products to meet my needs without overselling. That's something that can be difficult to do, especially in the electronics business. In the end, I opted for an alarm that was just above entry-level because of the reliability factor and it allowed for expansion in case I need additional features at a later time. Besides, it was only $50 more. Joey gave me an exact price and and estimated 3-4 hours for installation. They started at 11am and Joey phoned me a little after 2pm to let me know they were done. Awesome. I couldn't ask for a better experience. Fantastic, honest and speedy service combined with good prices. We just had a Pioneer car stereo installed, and we're very happy with the sound. We also had the extras like the bluetooth capability, iTunes, etc etc, and it works great! To hear a phone conversation in your speakers is pretty amazing!! It was a bit pricey, but overall, worth every penny. Definitely recommend Mobile Car Stereo. I bought a Pioneer car deck and back up camera for my friends mom's 2009 Honda Crv and attempted to put it in ourselves. However we realized late in the afternoon that it was pretty complicated to run the wires to the rear since it was a rather tight fit for the wiring. We decided to try to get it done professionally and called Tracy at Mobile car Audio and it was already rather late at 640pm on a Saturday. She was extremely knowegable and very friendly and gave my friend a reasonable quote over the phone and we decided to bring it over there the same night to at least drop it off since we knew they closed at 8:00pm. Since I forgot a critical part at my home we ended up dropping the car off rather late at around 7:40pm not expecting to have it worked on till later during the week but Tracy and the rest of the team decided to stay late to place the deck and run the rear view camera line and microphone for hands free calls, what AWESOME customer service!!! While waiting Tracy even offered us something to drink going above and beyond!! They took about an hour and a half and did a CLEAN and QUALITY install. Went to Mobile Car Audio to look for a double DIN for my Chevy Colorado. Staff there was awesome, wasn't pushy at all and installed it to perfection, super clean! Tracie even ordered LED lights that I wanted to change out, went to pick up the bulbs and they installed it for me. Stopped by recently one rainy afternoon to ask if they has any ideas what I did wrong on my alarm installation. They said that I would have to make an appointment 2 weeks out. After telling how the alarm was driving my crazy, they said they could look at it for a little while before the next appointment came in. Awesome. Terrific. Fabulous. I cant give enough accolades for the team at Mobile Audio. Someone break into my car while it was park at Target. After filing a claim with my insurance company they wanted to total out my car because dodge doesn't make the wire harness for it anymore. Joey at mobile audio ensure me and the insurance company that he could repair the radio without it being a safety hazard and he is an expert on dodge.
