Had a pleasant experience with Courtney and Mobile PDX. Scheduling was as simple as a phone call and text with details about the car. Courtney and team arrived the day and time decided. We had an issue where the tire store had not supplied the lug key and that created an issue removing the wheels. When many businesses would simply reschedule and move to the next job, Courtney went and purchased the necessary parts and charged a very reasonable labor amount to go to all the trouble of doing so. No issues with the installation of of new brakes and rotors. All costs were communicated up front and other than the lug nuts, no surprise charges. Agree with all of the other reviews, Courtney is an awesome guy. I'd recommend him to anybody. Instead of pumping me for money, he told me straight up that my car was not worth all of the money it would take to really get into shape(which I had suspected) and, then, he didn't charge me and gave me leads on where I could possibly find another used car for cheap. I'm broke. I'm disappointed. None of it has to do with Mobile PDX's service. Highly recommended. read more

Courtney (who w/his son) is Mobile PDX, saved the day today-Sunday!!!- for two dear friends of mine who were visiting from Bellingham. They drove down yesterday to see a concert and had to be home tonight for an early work thing tomorrow morning. They started up their car at 1:30pm for their ride home. The car overheated and could not be driven. We called Courtney who was here at 2. Courtney worked really hard, and w/enormous attention to detail for the next 6.5 hours. He diagnosed the problem, disassembled the car, went to 2 different part stores to get what was needed, reassembled the car, and took it for a "hard" test drive to get my friends on the road back to B-ham at 8:30pm. Courtney is thorough and meticulous. He pulled out a miracle today and after working 6 hours on a Sunday took the car on a half hour test drive to ensure my friends peace of mind for their drive back to B-ham. Highly recommend Mobile PDX. Never fails it's a Saturday afternoon of a long weekend and something goes haywire on the car. Courtney confirmed I could meet Lou (so?) at the house to check my Jeep out. The problem was a hole in the exhaust pipe where it's mounted and needs to be welded. I was not able to finish due to a broken rib.They came out to my house the next day.They finished rebuilding my front end that day. In the rain. Quick version: I couldn't be more happy with my experience with Courtney and Mobile PDX. Punctual, reasonably priced, trustworthy, educational, and overall a delightful man. Long version: My Jeep was overheating and couldn't be driven without damaging the engine. ON A SUNDAY, Courtney was on-time to meet me at the car to diagnose the issue. We talked through the options for just an inspection or full repair work. I decided to stick with him after our interaction and he had a new radiator & thermostat in the car 4-5 hours later. It was less expensive than a tow truck and service center where the work is all done behind closed doors. I'm astonished that he could get the parts and install them so quickly on a weekend. I found Courtney and Lou as I was searching for someone to fix my Acura TL that wouldn't start. I couldn't get it to a regular shop, and didn't want to pay for a tow. I had a certain budget for today, and we were down to one car so had to do something. We also have a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was overheating at idle and needed brakes. I figured that one would have to wait. The guys showed up this morning and checked out both vehicles. They were able to fix both for little more than I had originally budgeted for only one. I loved watching this father and son team interact. They are both very knowledgeable about cars and they show each other and the customer a lot of respect. They didn't hesitate to explain everything that they were doing. They were here a long time, since they ended up working on both cars. These guys are Awesome! Lou and Courtney came to house to diagnose and detected the alternator was done. They swapped it out my and got the car moving again. Very professional and worked environmentally consciously by using tarps and drop rugs to capture any spill or debris. Courtney and Lou have looked at 4 of my cars in the past week. Both have a wealth of knowledge and were able to identify our needs immediately. They did the work at my house and are extremely quick and efficient. I compared their prices to other shops and was pleased to know that it was on the lower average side. The value Courtney provides is immense. He explained to me the exact issues and what I could do to help my car in the future. For my brother's car, he let us know which items had to be done immediately and what could wait. One of my cars they looked at and were honest about letting me know it wasn't worth repairing rather than try to get extra money from me. As a female, I appreciate they didn't treat me like I wasn't intelligent and provided more details when needed. They fixed brakes, did a tune up, completed valve repairs, and identified additional issues for me. The only thing they weren't able to do was an oil change due to not having a place to dispose of it, but that isn't an issue since my husband can do that himself. Be very careful when using these guys-Courtney and Lou. I had a water pump that needed to be replaced, and after a delay they replaced it. Thus began a 2 week ordeal that is still not resolved. After they replaced the pump, my radiator leaked-badly. They advised that they could put some pills in the radiator, which would seal the leak. Unfortunately, this is a quick and innefective fix. So they did end up fixing the radiator. Problem was, there was a squeal coming from the engine. They advised my to use soap to quiet the squealing. I trusted them, and tried it. The very next time I drove, there was smoke and increased squealing. The problem? A flywheel was grinding against something metallic, and after about 20 minutes of driving the squealing stopped. Why? Because the belt came off. Also, the engine overheated. So now I need to take it to a reputable shop that can actually fix the issue. Of course, I'll need to tow my vehicle, because it doesn't start. If you choose to use these guys, which would be unfortunate, I would not pay until the work is completed. And, get a firm price upfront and don't budge. I made that mistake too. read more
