Modern looking Vietnamese dessert place in Vietnam town. We were looking for Che after lunch and came across this place. It had clean aesthetics and minimal decor. We ordered the combo which is Che suong sa hat luu. Came with red colored chest nuts, grass jelly, mung bean, pandan jelly on ice. It was very refreshing. And the person who took our order was very nice and patient as my kid practice their Vietnamese.

They specialize in Vietnamese desserts and this was where Tea Lyfe used to be before they closed down. It's a nice dessert spot with a clean, glowing atmosphere. I like the fact you can adjust the sweetness and ice level. Mainly these drinks and desserts can be pretty sweet by default. The employees were very friendly. I ordered the D6 Durian Dessert (Che Sau Rieng). Unfortunately, the flavor was lacking. I probably would not pay the extra fee for the durian add-on, but this came with the order. This was more like durian flavored milk foam rather than the actual durian fruit. Also, make sure to ask ice on the side because the flavor will be diluted. It was also on the pricey side too.

Stopped by here real quick during a weekend Vietnam Town trip with my bestie. I've never really tried soy pudding or the more modern chè, so when I see Oche Desserts offers that on their menu, I decided to give it a try. The shop is actually pretty spacious, probably fits around 20-30 people, and I LOVE the minimalist aesthetic. Super clean, simple, and just nice to be in. The cashier was really friendly and we got our order in like 5 minutes. I ordered the S1 Egg Cream Soy Pudding and D8 Special Coconut Flan. Everything was packed nicely in to-go containers, and omg their mascot/logo is sooo cute. For to-go they also give you a separate bag of ice, their ice are the type of premium crunchy ice chips that melt in your mouth. Flavor-wise, I really enjoyed the S1. The soy pudding was soft, fragrant, and had that smooth jiggly texture. The egg cream was sooo good, and the toasted coconut flakes added a nice little crunch to balance everything out. The D8 Special Coconut Flan is def a must-try if you're into coconut + flan (which I am lol). The flan itself was a bit thicker than my personal preference, felt like they might've used heavy cream, but still well made and not overly sweet. The caramel layer had a nice color and flavor. All the toppings inside were pretty good too, especially the coconut strips. The coconut milk sauce tied everything together really nicely. Overall, even though I'm not the biggest fan of chè, Oche Dessert actually did a really good job. I'd come back to try more items for surE, D4 Avocado Dessert and D7 Coconut Palm Dessert are already on my list!

Ochē desserts are amazing! I make sure to stop by every time I'm in Viet town. The decor is trendy and the staff is very sweet. They are always happy to answer questions and make changes to the drinks. I've tried several of the desserts because I am usually here with my family so we order many of them. My favorite one is D4 Avocado Dessert. It comes with avocado puree, avocado chunks, pudding, jelly, and coconut milk. I always get regular sweet and it is perfect. Not too sweet. Very refreshing and delicious! D5. The Thai Dessert was also good! It has more fruits with a coconut base. Also refreshing and delicious! D9. Pandan Soy is a pandan lover's dream! Overall, every drink I've had from her is done to perfection. They get busy, but they make drinks fast. Next time you are in the area, give this place a try. It is 100% worth it!

O Chè was a pretty good spot for Vietnamese desserts. I ordered the chè Thái thập cẩm and the avocado with coconut milk. The service was fast, and I didn't have to wait, which was nice. It looked like some of the chè might have been pre-packed already, so it was quick and easy to order. The store also still had some seating space, so it's a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy dessert. Overall, the chè was pretty okay. I liked the avocado with coconut milk more, while the chè Thái thập cẩm was a little too sweet for my taste. Still, it's worth trying if you're craving Vietnamese chè.

House signature che

A refreshing dessert after downing a bowl of pho. I like how you're able to adjust the sweetness level here. Toppings are fresh and satisfying. One thing to note is that the durian flavor was quite strong in the house signature che.

Che thai

CHE THAI! get that as the perfect fruity dessert after a filling meal, they don't skimp on the toppings!! comes with lychee and the other classics, you def can't just use a straw, at that point open the lid and use the spoon to get all the goodies out. I got regular sweet and thought that was perfect. I never really go out to buy che, but this place caught my eye and saw lots of ppl outside, that's when you know it's good. I'm not a fan of the che with lots of beans, so che thai is perfect with the fruity toppings:)

Taro Soy Pudding
Helen C.

Pulled up around 7:30 PM on a weeknight and it was completely empty, though a couple more groups trickled in as the night went on. It looked like most folks were there for the che desserts, but I was actually there for the soy pudding! Seating is comfortable and plentiful if you want to catch up with friends. Taro Soy Pudding (4/5): The soy pudding has a perfectly smooth and silky texture, but isn't very sweet on its own and the soy flavor is pretty subtle. The taro is almost a thick, creamy layer over top and provides most of the flavor. Not mind blowing, but definitely pleasant.

Really enjoyed the Vietnamese Che here. I got the Che ba mau. I like that you can customize the sweetness level. The shop is clean and modern. The service is very fast. My only complaint is there doesn't seem to be a trash can inside the store.

Thai Che, egg soy pudding, matcha soy pudding
Francie M.

I gotta come back here when it's hot and not raining bc these deserts would be so refreshing! We ordered - egg soy pudding: plain pudding with egg creme on top. I always eat the egg pudding on Vietnamese coffee with a spoon so this dessert just enables that desire more! - matcha soy pudding: the matcha flavor could have been much stronger it was pretty bland - Thai Che: coconut milk mixed with a variety of fruits and jellies. I tried fresh jackfruit for the first time in this - so floral! Why would anyone try to make it like a fake pulled pork when they can have it straight Logistics: - indoor seating only - plenty of strip mall parking outside

a modern twist on a traditional dessert??? I grew up eating che but never seen a menu like this before. we wanted to get just two to try but it was so delicious that we ended up ordering a 3rd one. we got the avocado, durian, and special coconut with 50% sugar for all of them. I have a sweet tooth and 50% was perfect. staff was super friendly and there was plenty of seating on a sunday afternoon!

Che Ba Mau $7.50
Amie N.

Overall, I felt that the price was fair. The Che ba mau had all the jelly + bean toppings mentioned, but the mung bean scoop didn't taste fresh. I would've wanted more equal ratio of jelly to beans, I had mostly tiny red beans. I got 25% sweet, which was perfect considering that the beans are presweetened. Great service, I will definitely come back, just wish the beans tasted fresh.

I seldom ever have the opportunity to try out chè. Yesterday evening after having dinner at Saigon Kitchen in the same plaza, my friends and I walked over to Oche for desserts. I ordered D2 off their traditional menu -- "Three Colors" while my wife ordered "Special Coconut Flan" off their modern menu. I love that you're able to customize the sweetness of your order here. You're able to choose 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%. Additionally, you can also choose the amount of ice you want in your dessert, including ice-on-the-side. I really enjoyed the variety of beans and jellies in my dessert. I ended up not adding any ice into my dessert and felt like that was the right decision, as it kept the coconut milk from getting diluted. For coconut lovers, D8 is the honestly the perfect dessert, as it includes flakes of fresh coconuts as well as toasted coconut garnish on top. Although it was extremely busy, the desserts were quickly made and we were able to pick-up our order in no more than 15 minutes. I would definitely stop by again for desserts.

What I had: - Lychee Matcha (double matcha, regular sweet, regular ice) - Yuzu Matcha (double matcha, regular sweet, regular ice). Double matcha was not overly strong or caffeinating to me (love that they do not charge extra for this option btw)- my caff tolerance I'd say is relatively high or above average for sure. Surprisingly, at that matcha level the taste is not overly bitter at all. And the regular sweet is perfect (I normally get 50% sweet at boba shops). Same with the ice level, I think their regular ice level is fine (I normally get less ice at boba shops). The Lychee matcha has great lychee taste, not artificial tasting, it's a great blend of both lychee + matcha. The Yuzu is leaning towards the 'lemonade' profile without being overly citrusy. More refreshing than the lychee matcha, but both are refreshing anyways due to the nature of their flavors! I think I prefer the lychee matcha normally, honestly hard to say which flavor is better! I thoroughly enjoyed both these drinks! Their flavors are blended well with the matcha- not overly sweet in flavor, and matcha is great quality while not overly powerful or bitter. Drinks are of course mixed well and composed nearly perfectly. ---How I Rate on Yelp:--- (5 stars): Exceptional!! -- food, service, and atmosphere all outstanding. Worth going out of your way. (4 stars): Great! -- very good experience overall, minor flaws but nothing major. (3 stars): Good -- decent, acceptable, but there's room for clear improvement. (2 stars): Poor -- disappointing experience, multiple issues (food, service, or setting). (1 star): Terrible -- very bad experience, would not return or recommend.

The service is great, and they make your drinks very fast. The taste is very consistent, and they do have a large menu with lots of different items other than matcha. My only downside is the variety of matcha over the recent year. From last year and this year, the menu for matcha has not changed much, and it seems like I get the same taste every time I go. While the first time was enjoyable, after it just gets repetitive. I love Izumi, but I really wish there was a rotation between drinks.

We got the red bean and the strawberry flavors - the portions were very large for a bay-area reasonable price of less than $15 item. It was my first visit and honestly, I was a bit disappointed; while there were lots of fresh fruits, I found the flavor bland and not sweet enough - which may be someone's jam? I wished it had more condensed milk to give it a more creamy flavor. The shaved ice was beautiful and fluffy - i'd say this is the main draw that may bring me back to try new flavors. There is plenty of seating inside for tables of two or even small groups. Parking can be difficult since many popular establishments are in the same strip mall so plan ahead for parking time.
