Quick line, got a variety to try. Sometimes I don't like how sometimes it comes out still melted and difficult to manage when it melted, but my favorite is the fruity pebble. Love the chew, good flavor great treat once in a while.

Super good, perfectly chewy black sesame mochi donut for $3. No complaints, not much else to say!

Located inside Japan Center Mall West. Crispy outside, chewy inside. These donuts were perfect for sharing. Loved the nutella donut. Service was quick and efficient. Will be back to try other flavors.

Prices have gone up the past few years, you now get three for $9. I liked the black sesame (4/5 stars) but thought the frosting was a weird texture because large chunks fell off the donut when I broke it in half. The strawberry (5/5 stars) was better and/or fresher, with moister frosting. I also liked the Nutella (5/5 stars) although I'm not sure what the brown powder was on top (not kinako powder, maybe ground graham cracker?).

We had a short trip to the Bay and were checking out Japantown. While we were in the Japan Center, Mochhill Mochi Donut opened for the day. I was very excited to get a chance to try their donuts! It is a very small stand inside the complex. I had the matcha and it was full of matcha flavor. The donut itself was fresh and had a great flavor. We'll definitely stop by again when we are in the area.

Hands down my favorite mochi donut shop! A friend brought me a box, & I instantly fell in love. The donuts had that perfect chewy texture and weren't overly sweet, which I really liked. My personal favorites were the matcha and fruity pebbles, both a fun flavor without being too heavy. If you're looking for a snack / dessert after getting a meal in japantown, definitely check out Mochill.

Love this place! Always stop here when I'm in Japantown. I've tried most of the flavors and they are all amazing. Always so fresh! Service has always been great and fast.

Yum! A nice fresh mochi donut is a special treat every time. And Mochill does the mochi donut super well! Inside a mall in Japantown this place is guaranteed to have a line every time because the donuts are just that good. Come early and sink your teeth into the freshest ones. My favorite was the Yuzu I love a chance to try something new and the quick clean little shop is sure to give you a quick happy treat. After that make sure to look around at what else is in Japantown because you might just discover your next favorite food.

Photo is of two places, this place is only the donuts. Fun mochi donuts! If you've never had them before, they are a chewy take on donuts with Asian flavors. I've had mochi donuts and a few other locations, and this doesn't stand out as any better than the others. With that said, it's still a fun dessert to have with people who have never tried them before, and I'll still grab a donut or two once in a while while I'm here and have a craving. The line isn't usually that long either.

Best mochi donuts. Super flavorful, never soggy, not too sweet - and that perfect mochi bounce. They are also so cute, so kawaii. The shape makes perfect sense after you bite into it. I am pretty bummed to learn these are not gluten-free, but honestly I don't think that will stop me. $18 for 6 donuts (so a bit cheaper than The Mochi Donut Shop on Clement which is $20 for 6). You do have to weave through a bit of Little Tokyo's west wing, but that's part of the adventure! It would be so great if cafes partnered with Mochill so I could enjoy a mochi donut with a matcha all around town. That said, when the craving hits, this one is my #1

I think the mochi donuts here are the best I've had in the city! The texture is perfectly chewy and fluffy, while also not being greasy (even if you don't get the freshest ones). I love the more Japanese flair flavors like matcha and sesame that are not too sweet. But, for a sweeter dessert, the strawberry donut has a great light tang that balances the sweeter glaze. Whenever I want a sweet treat, I drop by for my favorite donuts here!

Ask the Community - Mochill Mochi Donut

Does the SF location have mochi cupcakes?

Yes, I've ordered mochi cupcakes from the SF location.

Will the Mochi donut still be fresh overnight? I want to give it to a friend but won't see them till morning.

It's still good. Just keep it in a cool place not the refrigerator because it will make the frosting very dry.

    Are these dairy free?

I emailed the owner and was told all the donuts have dairy

Can I choose fruity pebbles as part of my create you own dozen and if so how do I do that?

Go to their website and you can order through there. You can customize a half dozen/dozen box. Don't use grub hub.

Are these made fresh when ordered or are they pre-made?

Pre-made but they go thru them so quickly, they're constantly churning out new batches throughout the day.

    This is this still operating?

Open 11a-7a. I was able to reserve a dozen and specify flavors messaging them on Instagram.

    Are these fried or baked?

    Fried.

Does anyone know how I can procure a general ingredient list to make sure I avoid any food allergies?

Do they have gluten free options?

I emailed the business directly and they confirmed the mochi donuts are NOT gluten free.

    Do they accept credit card?

    Yes they do

Are they open on Christmas Day?

Not sure , but you can always call. Most of the store ( big company's or moms and pops store are close Christmas Day) . I hope this helps . Merry Christmas! ❤️🙏🏽

How long do they stay fresh?

Depending on the flavor you buy. The chocolate I felt last the longest. 24 hours. Matcha maybe 12 hours. I didn't put our in the refrigerator because it's mochi and mochi can get hard

Can we pre-order or order for catering?

    Any vegan options?

No all flavors contain milk and eggs

    Are any of them gluten-free?

I did see one gluten free donut.

How much is half a dozen of Matcha doughnuts?

If they are still running the promo then it will be $12 for 1/2 dozen of any flavor. If not, it will be priced individually according to flavor. I think matcha is either $2.20 or $2.50 each.

Are these mochi donuts gluten free?

No, these are not gluten free.

Anyone know what their hours are?

Staff member said they're open on weekends as well. Monday - Sunday 11am to 8pm

Parking is super easy around the area, which is a rarity in SF. Shop is bright and airy, with the most adorable pastel color scheme. I ordered two of their milk chocolate donuts ($5 each), a key lime meringue donut ($6), a blueberry & lime donut ($5), and a caramel apple donut ($6). Donuts are on the pricier side, but the presentation and use of high quality ingredients makes up for it. The sourdough donuts themselves aren't nearly as sweet as standard donuts and have a soft, bouncy texture. The milk chocolate donut was absolutely decadent. Upon first bite, you can immediately tell this donut was topped with real melted milk chocolate. This was levels above a typical chocolate glazed donut. The flakey sea salt garnished on top balanced out the sweetness nicely. Although I will say that I found the richness of the chocolate to clash slightly with the tanginess of the sourdough donut. The key lime meringue donut had a super tart key lime filling and was topped with fluffy meringue. Definitely the most eye catching of the donuts I picked up. But the key lime filling was a bit too punchy and sour for my liking. The glaze on the blueberry & lime donut had a potent and fresh blueberry flavor that went well with the lime zest sprinkled on top. The caramel apple donut was my favorite. The caramelized apple filling paired with the cream cheese frosting and graham cracker crumbs was almost like eating an apple pie + cheesecake fusion but as a donut! Overall, a solid donut place that I'd return to if I'm ever in need of a special treat!
