These two sat in the box over night and the oil seeped through the cardboard

This place has potential but their donut oil needs to be donut only and changed out more frequently. The oil flavor is overwhelmingly stale and the donuts are saturated in it, disgusting. Every bite is like oozing oil. The icing on top is decent, but very diluted with sugar. So the flavor itself is like a whisper.

Tried their Korean corn dogs here and was a huge fan! Loved that they had a hot Cheeto version! Really great prices for value, thought it was very fair and would come back. No complaints besides I wish they had more sauce options! Service was pretty good and the ambiance is casual like a boba shop.

I think most people come here for the donuts but me being a savory fan, we tried the half cheese half do ramen flavor. The wait was long and it was honestly unimpressive. I think they basically just took one out of a package and heated it up for us. I can just got to Hmart if that was the case and it'd be a lot cheaper. The space is HUGE and there are a few counter spaces for you to eat. I would pass for $7

I love this shop. It's one of the best places that sell mochi donuts. I wish there was one in Vallejo. They have amazing flavors. My favorite are the chocolate and cinnamon. When I come back, I want to try their boba. Service is good. They're quick and friendly. The shop is clean. They have decent number of seating.

The Fam and I ordered two dozen mochi donuts from the Mochi Donut Shop in the Outer Sunset via DoorDash for my cousin's surprise birthday party. Because we got them delivered and ordered via DD, we didn't get to choose the flavors. That was fine because they all tasted wonderful. They were an absolute hit! The donuts were super chewy on the inside, with a perfect balance of texture and sweetness. They weren't stale at all, like some of their competitor mochi donut makers we've tried over the years. The Little One liked the pink one, which she called "strawberry." Not entirely sure that's accurate. We tried the mango flavor, and with the dried mango topping, it was a dead giveaway, and nice touch! My aunts even tried to stash some away for late. They're hilarious! By the end of the party, the donuts were completely wiped out. We didn't get to take any home, but honestly, it's just an excuse to come back for more! Based on the yelp photos the shop seems to be partnered with or part of Mochi Nut, Orbit coffee, and they seem to serve Korean style corn dogs. Not sure what their exact relation is. Regardless, more reasons to go back to try more of their selection and find out. Also, shameless plug: my photo is the featured photo as of November 2024. W00t!

Love this place. Everything tastes so fresh and the service is great:) highly recommend if you're in the mood for mochi donuts or milk tea. Great locations also!!

Very delicious Mochi donuts! People were very nice as well. The churro was just cinnamon sugar, the Ube was powdered dusting flavor on top. The dark chocolate was very rich and delicious. Cute boxes as well! 3 for $11.

Jet To is the nicest lady I've ever met. She always has a smile on her face despite being by herself in the front. The corn dog tasted very good and she even let us sit in her store even though we got food from other stores as well. We decided to go back 10 min later and got wings and a s'mores donut. She even gave us free stuff to try which also tasted really good and makes everything in house fresh daily. Amazing lady and very kind. The place is also very aesthetic and the music is very calming. She definitely deserves more customers if you're ever in Irving St. area. Thank you Jet To I wish you the best :) !

Recently I saw a sign posted outside showing that The Mochi Donut Shop was selling daifuku mochi, so I ended up ordering half a dozen for a birthday. They had red bean and ube filling options, both of which I thought were so fresh and delicious! When I spoke on the phone with the owner to make an advanced order, she was very nice and made sure the order was all ready for me to pick up later that week. (Of course, you can also walk in and buy them!)

Epic pandan dessert. The folks who work here are very nice too. Great little spot to drop into for a quick mochi donut break.

mochi doughnut shop on Irving Street is a cute cozy bakery, serving coffee tea Matcha and mochi donuts. The service was alright. The grub home counter was in particularly family rather seemed a little bit standoffish in a way maybe passive aggressive but the donuts were honestly kind of bland. The flavor was there but the donuts were also dry.

Korean hot dogs and mochi donuts! We had the Korean corndog with potato, and got a three-pack ($10) of the mochi donuts (fruit pebbles, chocolate with sprinkles and strawberry.) Korean corn dogs are typically beef hotdogs (or a mozzarella stick) battered in a yeasted dough or a rice flour batter with additional seasoned toppings. Toppings include: panko, potato, hot cheetos, and ramen. Corn dogs were made to order. There were eight donut flavors, including chocolate, fruit pebbles, funnel cake, strawberry, churro, coffee, and plain. This is fun food! On the plus side, their red boxes for to-go donuts were absolutely adorable. Donuts were made ahead, but are still (relatively) fresh. The shop itself can feel slightly chaotic: limited seating, short-staffed & out of a lot of food items at 11:30 am on a Friday. No utensils, except for spoons and part of the dining space is currently storing boxes.

Ask the Community - The Mochi Donut Shop - Outer Sunset

I saw a review saying you have a corn dog shortage if you do when are the days we can go and get a corn dog I’m dying to try one?

We serve them daily. I recommend to come around noon. Demands are high and sold out quickly. The person before you can always purchase the last one. Looking forward for you to try one! Definitely no shortage but high demand.

    Do they have vegan donuts?

    No vegan donuts

    Do you have gift certificates?

    Yes they have gift certificates.

Are they still closed till further notice? Does anyone know.

Soft opening still in the works. They are open daily now.

Sign on the door says closed until further notice, what's up?

    They are open now daily.

    Are the donuts dairyfree?

    No, contains milk in donuts.

Do you have non dairy milk for the boba?

Yes, they have non dairy boba drinks.

    Are these gluten free?

Yes they are made with rice flour. The ube (purple yam) one is. Ask when you get there. Flavors change daily.

Can these make it to another state in the mail box of I sent it with priority or overnight ? How well do they keep?

In my experience mochi donuts need to be eaten fresh, much like other donuts. They lose their crispness within 24 hours and start getting a bit soggy. Also the glaze on these are not as solid as some other places and will likely run or be absorbed…

The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a place like this as it is lively but not loud, cozy but not cramped, and always buzzing with good energy, from the staff through to most of the patrons on any given night. The menu is a greatest-hits tour of German comfort food. The deviled eggs are a must to start your meal and the wienerschnitzel is my personal go‑to as it is crispy, moist, and so flavorful every time I've had it. The jägerschnitzel is another standout if you are feeling something a little lighter and saucier as it rich and savory in all the right ways, and the sausages are always banging and perfect alongside a big stein of beer. It's the kind of food that feels made for long conversations and slow sipping. What really elevates Suppenküche, though, is the people. The staff are super friendly and clearly know their stuff, always ready with a beer recommendation or a menu suggestion and the patrons tend to match that vibe; if you end up at the bar or sharing a table, which is pretty common if you come with a small group, you're likely to find yourself chatting with someone new before long. There's honestly no better way to make new friends in SF than bonding over schnitzel and a great German beer at Suppenküche.

Metro Caffe has two fake meat options for their sandwiches, either a Boca or a garden burger patty that's chopped up and grilled with cheese and onions! There's a few extra options to add as toppings: extra cheese, extra meat, peppers, avocado, mushrooms, etc. as well as burgers, hot dogs and a good range of sides. I decided to try the Boca burger cheesesteak sandwich while my partner got the turkey. The first thing we noticed was how amazingly soft the bread was, a big difference compared to other cheesesteak restaurants. The sandwiches also aren't huge and overfilled.... which surprisingly is what we prefer! We were able to eat everything and didn't feel like we had taken a bomb to our stomachs, which usually happens after a big cheese filled sandwich. On top of that, the sandwiches were delicious. The grilled onions were good and the cheese melted well and got into all the bits of the sandwich and meat fillings. Our food came out piping hot but not so bad that we had to wait too long before we could eat. The shop is small but there's indoor and outdoor seating and it's close to a few parks and bars that will let you bring in food. Service was quick and the workers were nice and friendly. Definitely a great replacement for the cheesesteak shops we've been losing lately, we're definitely returning!
