Normally I enjoy this pizza shop but tonight we decided to have a nice quick dinner here, well it wasn't a nice dinner. We walked in around 6pm, we were not greeted(there was no one in line before us). The order taker lady was very unfriendly and did not understand my dairy allergy that I have. She decided to roll her eyes when I told her that I had a dairy allergy. Then, she took a good few minutes to change her gloves as she had a frown on her face the entire time. She went on to ask me if I needed the Cauliflower crust to which I instructed no because the normal crust is dairy free. Furthermore, no employee had it's hair pulled up and out of the face, like in a food business should, furthermore we found a hair in our pizza. This was a gross and unsanitary discovery. No one behind the counter was nice and enjoyable to order from. We may not be returning for a good while after this visit. This is the second MOD I've been to. The general setup reminds me of a Chipotle or Barberitos. The way MOD functions is you pick your size pizza and that's the price you pay. Whether you want only cheese or every topping they offer, you can do whatever you want and it's still that one price. read more

First time going to this "Mod Pizza" will definitely not be going back! There was only one lady ahead of me and the girl starting the pizzas who had just passed the womans pizza to the other person looked up at me like I was an inconvenience and ignored me when I said hi since she didn't say anything. Then when she did speak it was like she was speaking from a script no personality no customer service what so ever! She started my pizza and passed it off to other guy who obviously hadn't worked there long and/or hadn't been trained well. He tried to build my pizza on the other ladys garlic stix... and then when I told him what pizza I wanted he didn't know what to really put on there. Which apparently is just cheese mushrooms and unspecified to me a chicken sausage which I thought was actually going to be two different meats as it seemed to be described! Once he was done with those toppings he just looked up at me as if he was waiting for me to tell him something and then he said "so no other toppings or anything?" Like wow the level of attitude in that store is astounding. The check out guy was the only guy who seemed to not have an attitude or be completely impersonal when I voiced that I think the guy built my pizza wrong. Then I get home just to find my pizza actually hadn't been cooked fully through and the cheese melted due to the steam in the box... how do I know this!? Cause the cheese had melted over where the pizza was actually cut, it looked like it hadn't been cut at all unless you looked around the edges of the crust. And also I use to make craft pizzas for a quality restaurant in Florida. Also the first "slice" I tried to pick up slide completely out from under the "toppings." I live in West Ashley super close to this store but I'd rather drive all the way to Blaze Pizza in Mount Pleasant than ever go back to this joke of a pizza shop. read more

This is my third time visiting this location. The first two visits were 5-stars. No question. But this time, Sunday night around 7:00, we went in and the woman on the pizza line was apparently on her first day, and hadn't been trained whatsoever. I asked her for a number 2, and with fear in her eyes, she explained that she had no idea what that was. So I explained step by step, reading off of the menu what went on a number 2. After that, my wife, who came in with me and was standing right next to me, wasn't asked about what she'd like to eat. Instead, the new woman attempted working on a to go order that was called in. Luckily, a more experienced employee stepped in to make my wife's pizza. After our pizzas went into the oven (at about a 5 minute interval, mine was cold by the time hers came out) with the wrong names on them, we finally found a seat and waited for her food. When it came out the oven and she brought it over to our table, we noticed a nice BIG CURLY HAIR right in the middle! GROSS! One of the other guys apologized and offered to make another one. But here's the best part: when she took it back to the counter to have it remade, she got back in line. She noticed the new woman chewing on something behind the line (also a big good service no-no). We're pretty sure she was eating the hair pie! Aaaaahh!! I really hope they get there sh#t together, because this place is too nice for such unprofessional nonsense. read more

Mod Pizza needs a lot of work! Ordering at the counter works for 'fast food' but this is far from fast! The last 3 times I've visited, I've had to stand in line over 20 minutes(1 time over 30) to start my order. They have quite a selection of toppings but not everything (like fresh mozzarella). They advertise that you pay one price, regardless of toppings, but the catch is that the simple pies are a bit overpriced & they are fairly skimpy on all toppings. They don't offer a wheat crust option & their salads are ridiculously overpriced! I got a 'side' Caesar, about the size of a small fist worth of salad for over $6. They also get flustered if you request anything out of the norm, the lady ahead of me requested plain bread sticks & the manager said I cannot sell you just dough? I sure miss Your Pie! Plan for a long-wait & a pricey meal! Ps - They leave room for a tip on the receipt, yet make you go pick up your pizza AND clean off your table - NO thanks!!!!! read more

We were the ONLY customers in the business and all 5 employees messed up our order. I asked the first employee for tomatoes in my salad. Instead of grabbing the tomatoes in front of him, he went around other workers and put salsa in my salad. The next employee had blood on his gloves and started making my boyfriends salad... my boyfriend asked if he could remove the gloves because he didn't want blood in the salad. He tosed the half made salad away and re made another salad with a bad attitude. After the salad incident, one employee starts sprinkling sausage all over my pizza. Another employee asked what type of pizza he was making and said "the Tyler", only to recognize there is no sausage in that pizza. I watched as he picked off 50 small balls of sausage on my half made pizza. That was painful. Then went I went to pay for my $30 worth of one pizza, two side salads, and two drinks, he forgot to give me cups. When I asked for the cups, he stared straight ahead and did not answer me. Another employee asked me if I was waiting for something, and I asked if I could please have the two cups I just paid for. This is ridiculous and I can't believe I was nice enough to pay $30 after this experience. read more
