    Gluten-free cheese

The staff is great. Pleasant even under the pressures of a fast-paced environment. They take care to ensure your order is accurate. The gluten free pizza was hot. Fresh and flavorful. Solid seasoning without being overpowering on the cheese. All pizza joints have to be tested based on the plain Jane and they passed with flying colors!

    Meatball sub

We had such a great experience at Pizza a Modo Mio! We ordered the meatball sub and WOW it was absolutely delicious. The sauce alone is addictive... seriously, I could eat that every day. We also got (not pictured) a Caesar salad with homemade croutons, plus a slice of grandma pizza and a slice of buffalo chicken pizza. Everything was fantastic, but the buffalo chicken pizza completely stole the show, so good. We'll definitely be going back for a full pizza of that next time. The staff was very friendly, and the place itself is super clean with both indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

Looking for a pizza by the slice spot that's fresh and quick then you need to stop by Pizza a Modo Mio on Clements Ferry Rd. It's a fast casual restaurant that's welcoming and ready to feed the crowd. They have a lunch meal that is a good deal for those pizza lovers that can't just have one slice like myself. Two slices and a soda for under $12! I ordered the margarita slice and the Hawaiian slice. As someone who loves pizza, I'm all about the sauce. The sauce at Pizza a Modo Mio was full of fresh flavors and the crispy crust was just like my favorite New York slices. Looking forward to many more lunches here when I am needing a pizza fix.

That green machine pizza is chefs kiss!! The other was Sicilian all the meats!! Both yummy!

There's not a whole lot I can say other than just do yourself a favor and go! I have now been there multiple times. I've had breakfast and coffee, and I've also had slices, rolls, and garlic knots!! the people in here are so friendly and professional and have any information you need to make your right choices. They have wonderful desserts that are flown in from New York and also some that are made in house. They also have a variety of other items that you can purchase that are also from New York. I brought my daughter for lunch. She can't have dairy so they kindly made her a wonderful roll minus the cheese. We really enjoyed reading all of the articles that are hung on the wall about Mike Pitera and his adventures in Italy on the US Pizza team. What a great success story he has. We are so thrilled to have the newest Pizza A Modo Mio on Clements Ferry Rd, back where he started. Now it's just a mere 10 minutes from us! My waist line will not be happy, but my taste buds will! I guess I had more to say than I thought LOL!! ENJOY and please tip the staff because they work hard!

They have a bar to serve your favorite beverages. This is a great place for families or just hanging out with friends. I ordered a veggie pizza. This is New York style pizza and the slices are huge. The crust was thin and bubbly. The sauce was delicious and the veggies were generous. The pizza was topped with fresh basil. I highly recommend.

Usually we prefer table service, but honestly the bar is the way to go here since you get a front row seat to the pizza making. We ordered a half pepperoni and half sausage pizza. As I saw the beautiful pies coming out of the oven they were all getting dressed with fresh parm and basil and I was worried I didn't add that for ours, but after feverishly flaging down our server he reasured me that all the pizzas come with the special treatment at the end (unless otherwise noted). As I calmed my nerves I sipped on some delicious bottle of sweet tea. It was only the slightest bit sweet and so refreshing. Plus we ordered a salad as well. We were concerned about the size of the salad when we saw our neighbors come out, but our server let us know we could get a half Caesar if we preferred. The salad is a must have. I love how they just chop the ends off the romain and add the perfect amount of dressing, crunchy bread crumbs, and loads of cheese. The pizza came out shortly after and it was perfection. If you're looking for thin crust northern style pizza then you will definitely find it here. They also use top notch ingredients making this a pizza one to remember. Surprisingly I enjoyed the sausage even more than the pepperoni. We were stuffed after only eating half the pie so we boxed it up and took some cannoli to go. They did half regular and half strawberries that had local strawberries mixed into the ricotta! We enjoyed all of it so much that we ordered the same items for takeout only a week later. I definitely enjoyed dining in more than takeout, but both are a great option. The online ordering was super easy and even though it was slammed when I arrived, they had my pizza, salad, and cannoli ready to go at the window when I arrived.

We waited 15 minutes until my friend got back up and asked them about his slices, it seemed they had forgotten about it and then they quickly handed him his slices after apologizing for the long wait. Despite mine being great, his was not unfortunately. His looks like it was pulled out of the oven early and was still floppy. No crisp to it at all. That's what some people like but I don't believe it's the standard. Despite this, his slices tasted good, I mean, how can you mess up a pep slice. The prices were alright for the area, I think my slice was like almost $4 after tax. I'll probably be back because of the convenience of being able to just order and pay right away and then get a slice a few minutes later. I would overall recommend.

Pizza is also available by the slice, which is what I ended up getting. Originally, I wanted to order an 18-inch cheese pizza, but the waiter told me it would take about 30 minutes and recommended ordering by the slice instead. I tried the cheese pizza by the slice. The pizza had a classic New York-style feel, but my slice was a little dry and slightly burned. It was decent overall, just not the best pizza I've had. If you're looking for a quick carryout spot with New York-style pizza options, it may be worth trying, but I'm not sure it would be my first choice for pizza.

I will preface this by saying that I have a bad habit of visiting restaurants at weird times (4pm…read morein this case), after lunch but before they get into the groove of dinner service. So it's entirely possible (and understandable) that I don't always get the best of what a place has to offer. That said, this was the worst pizza I've ever eaten. I was happy to see a place offer NY style pizza by the slice; you don't find that a lot in Charleston. Well, you won't find it here either. It was, generously, a home cook's first attempt at making pizza. There's something fundamentally off with the dough recipe, such that even a wood fired oven can't save it. The slices were overloaded with cheese. It was like eating wet cardboard. The meatballs were pretty good! The bartender was super pleasant and the space is attractive and welcoming. But they cannot make pizza. Normally I'm loathe to air out my business on Yelp like this; I prefer to communicate with the server if there's a problem with my food. But this wasn't an execution issue that could be fixed. A do-over would've produced the same result. Maybe, MAYBE they crush it with the neopolitan specialty pies. But I'll never know.
