We are generally not chain people, but MOD seems to make sure each location maintains a certain level of quality (mostly--we've been to several across the country, and only one was a disappointment, but not this one). The staff was quite friendly here, as they unanimously greet you when you enter, and also when you leave. It's pizza with a Chipotle approach, where you go down an assembly line of ingredients, and you basically create your own pizza. You get as many toppings as you'd like, and once you're done, they put it in a brick oven. The staff are really helpful, friendly and professional. Once your pizza is ready, they call your name. We ordered a mega mod, which is basically two crusts put together (this can generally be enough for two people, or one very hungry one), a mini (enough for a snack, or for a child), and two of their No Name Cakes. The pizzas came out so good. They were crispy, with just the right amount of cheese and sauce, and a taste that made my buds moonwalk, mostly due to the quality and freshness of the ingredients they use. The No Name cakes are basically large ding dongs, except SO much better. Once again, the quality of ingredients pays off, as the cakes are moist and delicious, and well worth the $2 you pay for them. Overall, we were quite satisfied with our meal. This place is better than Pieology and WAY better than Blaze. We most certainly plan to be back. read more

Give. Me. A. Freaking. Break. MOD Pizza claims to treat their employees better than other fast casual restaurants -- who knows if this is true? -- so apparently they feel a need to boast about their non-pizza impact on the world. Anyway, they should probably focus on better pizza first. The crust is gummy, probably because the recipe is not very good and the oven is not hot enough. The ingredients are unlimited -- although when I visited, the woman starting our pizzas was chastised for saying this to me and my dining partner, because "we don't want them to go crazy" -- but low quality. It's nice they have anchovies, though. Other "make-your-own" pizza chains at this price point (i.e. &Pizza) use real mozzarella, but they use shredded here. One thing that I found awkward was how all of the staff are forced to greet everyone who walks in and thank everyone who walks out. It feels contrived and awkward -- and I really wish US and UK fast casual chains would stop forcing their employees to do this. These pizzas are over $8 after tax -- for $9 you can get a real pizza margherita up the road at The Local Pizzaiolo. They have a very wide variety of toppings from dressings and drizzles, fresh and roasted veggies, different proteins and cheeses. The great thing about mod is that if you are trying to be healthy, you can opt for a salad instead. They have a mod sized salad. Had the absolute worst experience at this place tonight. Ordered our pizza and salad. The line was backed up and things seemed very disorganized. When we got to the register, the kid working it asked us to tell him what we ordered. I have been here before and the purpose of writing down on the sheet was for him to know this. We were not offered plates for our salads, so I went back to get them. The "manager" was very rude when I asked for them. He gave me 2, I said I needed 3. His response was a smart aleck "I don't know that I am just on the oven." All he had to do was give me the extra plate. I later asked where my pizza was because people who had gone through the line after us had food. He insisted they had ordered through the app and just said they had lots of pizzas to make. He was rude and condescending to me for No reason. He could have just apologized for the wait and asked for my name to check. He said he would just refund my money and demanded my receipt to do.so. Then when he refunded it, refused to return my receipt, saying it was his. It was what they gave me when they charged my debit card, so I needed it. After all of this, I did not get my dinner. Love me some Mod Pizza. I like how you can choose as many toppings as you want, but don't. A maximum of 5 toppings and 3 is really best. Plus you can choose what you want in your salad. The toppings are all fresh and I love Kalamata olives and this is one the few pizza places that offers them. The folks there are all super nice and offer great service. Must be good management at that location cause you can tell when employees are treated well. Location is great though as more places open it's gonna get tight. The decor inside is that rustic look we all by now know from my reviews is my all time fave. They cook the pizza in a open wood fire oven which I enjoyed the most. The staff is friendly and the place is spotless. They feature a mini and a mod pizza ranging from $5 to $7. I think for those interested in larger pies it may very well be available. I chose the mod pizza which is 7 inches and can be topped with your choice of desired sauces, toppings such as meats and all different veggies. I choice to make mine with your usual marinara sauce, cheese , pepperoni, and spicy sausage. It was extremely delicious . My second time around literally the next day I chose exactly the same lol. When I visit again I will be sure to try the salad bowl it looked amazing. The prices for this place is very fair and affordable which I am always a fan of. The quality of the food is great. I really love this place! I've eaten here probably 10 times within the last month, not because it's around the corner from me but because it's so good...and inexpensive! You can get an 11" with virtually any toppings all for the same price - about $8. And everything is so fresh - from the dough to the toppings. It feels like I'm eating healthy lol. We were glad to find this place, which is new, in a space I don't often visit. The servers greet every customer who enters and say "thank you" to every customer as he or she leaves, which is nice. I looked over some of the choices they suggested for pizza toppings, but ultimately elected to build my own. Plenty of toppings to choose from, and for eight dollars you get an 11 inch pizza - that will fill up the hungriest person and most have enough to take a slice home. Highlights for me: 1) Pricing- $8 is a steal considering the toppings are unlimited and fresh 2) the sauces you can drizzle on top after your pizza comes out the oven. That Mike's Honey Hot is the truth, ya heard? It's like a spicy honey that is great if you have toppings that are mild. The balsamic fig glaze is also good for pizzas with lots of veggies! One con- we went during the DeKalb water main break so the fountain machine didn't work and all the toppings they have to wash weren't in stock.
