MANAGEMENT CHANGE! Ive come here since it opened and got the same exact thing everytime: cheesy garlic bread. I change one thing only. I change the olive oil sauce to the white sauce. Ive gone to many many other Mods and got the same thing as well. I have been a very consitant and loyal customer often coming several times a week. For the first time ever at any mod and at this mod a few months ago i was told that if i changed the sauce it would no longer be 5$ but it would cost 13$. So an extra 7$ for a sauce change? I thought it mustve been a new employee who was confused but i was in a rush and didnt want to cause trouble so i accepted paying the extra 7$. I now learned there is new management and they were very rude to me and my family when i asked for the same order i have gotten for YEARS. They told me that they would no longer let me change the sauce but they could give me the sauce on the side. So is the extra 7$ for the extra 3 seconds of work or???? Me and my family are very disappointed and will not be going here anymore due to how rude and disrespectful the staff was to us. Mind you ive worked in food service for years so i am aware of how ridiculous and awful customers can be and am very mindful not to be a "karen". I've been to Mod pizza a few times and always loved it, except for this last experience. First, one of the employees behind the counter was belting a song that was playing on the speaker. Belting to the point where I couldn't hear myself say my order to the woman next to her because she was "singing" so loud. She kept singing multiple songs loudly after that, too. The last thing I wanted to do was stick around to eat my food. The food. The food was flimsy and okay...I have had better. Wish the crust was sturdier. Deff. not worth my $9 though. read more

It's been about a year since I've eaten at this MOD location. I hadn't had the best experience at this store but decided to give it another try since I was in the area. I was pleasantly surprised by the new manager, Adam. He went above and beyond to make sure I had the best experience. I tried the Isaac pizza per his recommendation and it was delicious - the ingredients seemed fresh and the pizza was cooked to perfection. Stopped in Monday for lunch and needless to say, I will definitely be coming back. For starters it was one of the cleanest, most organized restaurants I've been in. The lady taking care of me, I think her name was Amanda, did an an excellent job! I'm a pretty picky eater & for me to say my pizza was perfect wont do justice. Just noticed this newly renovated location, former Johnny Rockets, has become a pizzeria. The new Yelp app shows you suggestions from the home page now and voila, a new spot to check out after the movie. With Pie Five being a new favorite, I figured I would see if the MOD SQUAD could be as enjoyable. They have a great teaser video to see here on Yelp. The majority of the employees were "high energy" and a few who were certainly out of place. Overall I prefer Pie Five Pizza's crust, and spicy sauce. The 11" and 2 salads could make the perfect combo meal for 2. I like the layout and size of this location. Nice alfresco dining area too. read more

Been wanting to try their place for some time. Came in yesterday and it was absolutely packed! Having never been here before i really know what to expect so I opted for my favorite pie which is mushroom, onion, and sausage. I gave my order, I watched them put it together and I must admit, I was very impressed at the efficiency of their pizza making! It may have taken 5 mins for the pizzas to come out so I can't imagine how hot they have that oven but it gets the job done in no time flat! Took a seat and dusted it up with some parmasean and took my first bite, surprise surprise it was delicious!! The crust was PERFECT!! The sauce was super delicious!!! This was a delicious pizza! No bones about it, it was DELICIOUS! And it took no time at all! Having Two Brothers beer on tap was also an added plus! This may have been one of my worst casual fast restaurant experiences ever. My pizza was simple from the menu yet they forgot to fire it. After 15 minutes they did not apologize only said that they would cook it now. After another 10 minutes my order was ready but they then realized they never cooked my wife's margarita pizza either. Again no apology no this pizza place in 30 minutes with no food. Spoke to the manager he was semi sarcastic and unapologetic but offered to refund our purchase which was a bit odd because we never received the food. Why would they have charged us for something they never provided. Bottom line good concept but they have an amateur staff with an attitude on the front line which is hurting the business. read more

Went here with my lunch crew to finally check it out. From an interior design standpoint, it was similar to Chipotle, but with more modern chairs and nicer wood tables. Very bright, airy, energetic vibe to this please. You walk in and directly face their pizza menu options. You can choose from one of their 10 or so choices or can make your own. Service was very good and personable as they took my order. All their pizzas are made fresh to order. They have 2 sizes, 6" for about $5 and 11" for about $8. I wasn't overly hungry so I went with the 6" pizza, much to the shock, awe and utter disappointment of my lunch cohorts, some of whom may or may not have required smelling salts from the utter shock of my decision. Being a man and loving salt and no pizza should have less than 3 meats, I ordered the mad dog (sausage, pepperoni, meatball, cheese, sauce) but had them also add on some mushrooms & olives. They put the pizza in some wood fire oven. The pizza came out 5 minutes later. They call your name to the counter & then offer to add a 'finishing sauce' to it. Lovely, unexpected bonus. There were about 8 options, some of which sounded very good. However, with it being my first time, I wanted to see how they did the basics first before doctoring it up. I saw they had fountain Coke as an option (big plus in my book), along with beer or wine. Since it was lunch, I had to stick with pop so I, being a Diet Coke addict, ordered the large pop. Sadly, they only offer one size glass and it's about 12 oz without ice. Suffice to say, I went back for a few refills. My friend bought lunch so my 6" mini pizza & pop were probably $8. Li'l pricey for pop & 6" pizza in my opinion. The pizza itself was very good. Nice sauce, cheese, good thin crisp crust. Was a little charred on the bottom & crust but not terribly so, nor enough to deter me. All in all, an ejoyable lunch experience. Very similar to Pie 5 up the street, but I actually prefer this pizza and the ambience to this place to theirs. The only minor drawbacks to me were the price and the fountain pop glasses could be either larger or at least offer a larger glass for those of us with larger than normal thirst/pop addictions. Very disappointed in the food and the service in this restaurant. We have heard good things about it but our experience was not very good at all. The pizza was dry and the toppings were skimpy. The service staff were not very friendly and seemed apathetic about what they were doing. I would never return here more or recommend to my friends. We stopped in this week before catching a movie-we were greeted promptly and not rushed at all while we looked at the menu options since it was our first time. What I really like is that you can get ANY toppings for the same price. Just want cheese? It's the same price as it is if you load that pizza up with every topping they have. Pretty neat. I got the mini and my fiancé got the mod and the size difference was actually pretty big, I didn't realize how small mine was but that's ok. It's sort of like Subway, you walk down the line and let them know what you want on your pizza while picking from all the toppings. They then put the pizza in a large brick oven which took about 6-7 minutes. I got mine with olives and pepperoni and my fiancé got bacon. We both loved our pizzas. We also got the small garlic sticks. I was a little disappointed in those..they were pretty flat with not a lot of taste. I would maybe ask for the large and add extra garlic next time. We each got a soda as well and I think it came out to maybe $20. After dinner my fiancé got a float as well, they give you a cup of ice cream and then he went to the soda fountain and added the root beer. The service was very good and someone who I guess was the manager was walking around to all the tables, calling the customers by their names and checking in. I thought that was awesome. Not giving five stars for these reasons-one bathroom stall for women, really? It was plenty big for two toilets. Lunch rush-they were having trouble keeping up which made us wonder what a dinner rush would be like. Last reason-not happy with the guy making my pizza-he was ignoring us and barely raised a hand putting ingredients on the pizza and more interested in talking to the girl coworker who seemed to be fixing his mistakes. I enjoyed my introduction to MOD pizza! I've tried this concept at another location but the energy and customer service at the Naperville location is top notch. The staff guided me through the ordering process and allowed me to customize my pie to suit my cravings. I settled on an 11inch pizza with a red sauce and garlic strips. The garlic strips were really flavorful and the perfect size for lunch with a side salad. I couldn't finish the pizza after enjoying my garlic strips! But I will note I didn't like the crunchy nature of the veggie toppings on the pizza. The issue with quick cooking method is vegetables don't have time to simmer in the cheese & sauce. So the onion and peppers I selected for the pizza were basically still raw like a salad topper. I prefer my veggies to taste cooked on my pizza. So I will likely avoid crunchy toppers for future orders. I will definitely return to Mod Pizza to try the white sauce and to enjoy another order of those yummy garlic strips! read more

Ignored one person who tried to get his attention more than once . It's 3 feet from oven to person calling out to him, and in your face while he's cutting the pizza. Ignored. Then he played one pizza of ours , cut it and he next was played and ignored for 10 minutes while he did other things until finally someone else came to help out. read more

Been going to MOD for years (actually the one downtown Naperville was always much better). We started going to this one because traffic is better. Went there tonight for the 1st time in a year and will not be going back. Only a few customers ordering food but the workers were so slow and confused it was unbelievable. Every table was filthy, every garage can full. Orders were screwed up for it seemed like everyone. I would have to describe this place as a dump. The so called manager walked by the filthy tables numerous times but nobody ever cleaned up. They were out of a bunch of ingredients and had to get refills which slowed the already paralyzing slow workers. I cannot imagine how they would be able to handle a normal dinner crowd. It seemed like it was each workers 1st day on the job. So needless to say, we won't be going back to this location. May try the one downtown, but I doubt it. It really was that bad. read more

I'm torn with this review. The pizza is absolutely delicious. I seriously love it! The staffing... is just bad. The staff consists of a bunch of hipster teenagers who are more focused on singing to the background music than taking customer's orders. There never seems to be an adult manager or anyone mature on site... once I even had to listen to a worker complain about the diarrhea she had just cleaned up in the restroom! Gross! The selections all sounded amazing but we decided to stick to the basic "mad dog" pizza. The pizza was pretty tasty, even though it took a little longer than expected for them to make it. Pleasantly surprised on our first visit to a Mod. The young crew was very friendly & helpful, however they left a messy dining area. There were NO clean tables & the restaurant was quite a mess on a Sunday afternoon. The concept on building your own pizzas was pretty neat & they are made pretty quick. They are really good for a quick bite to eat & they also have this ding-dong like cake for dessert that is Fabulous!! You could easily split a pizza, we didn't kno you could get a smaller one, because we weren't offered a size?? And we didn't find out until we saw other tables with them. They also ran out of lettuce, that my daughter had to run across to Panera to grab a salad! Pretty bummed, because I heard their salads were excellent!
