On December 21, 2016 at approximately 1913 hours Kevin W. and I, Dante G., responded to MOD Pizza located at 2135 Ashley Phosphate Road, which is in the city of North Charleston, in reference to a disturbance. In our stomachs. We entered the business through the door on the A-Side. We Then followed the interior wall to the left, made a right and followed the interior B Side wall to the ordering station. It's marked by a giant arrow. The young lady behind the counter asked if we'd been there before and I advised that I had, however, Kevin W. needed to hear the instructions. She obliged. I went simple, a Jasper and a fountain drink, which I made an Arnold Palmer. Kevin W. went a little crazy. He combined a number two, which is mostly carnivore stuff, with a number seven, mostly vegetarian stuff. Kevin W. even added peppers, caramelized onions, and several other things that I cannot remember. It looked amazing. Kevin W. also went with a Birch Beer. Rarely found outside of the Pennsylvania Dutch area, Birch Beer is essentially if a root beer and Sarsaparilla had a kid. Our pizzas, both MOD size, were to us very quickly. As previously experienced, the pizzas were amazing. The atmosphere very laid back. Kevin W., due to getting one of everything on his pizza needed a box. MOD places boxes near the drink station to make them more accessible to patrons. Another successful visit to MOD. Additional investigation suggested. End of Report. read more

Pretty delicious! The thing that is the best: they don't charge you per topping, only per size of your pie. I was able to customize my own pie versus the menu they had, which was great. They are artisan style pizzas which I think taste fantastic- the crust is thin (which is perfect) and the flavor from the fire just makes it. They don't take long to cook up which is great when you have limited time for lunch. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend stopping in for lunch or dinner sometime! read more

I love MOD so much. For a flat fee you get your own personal pizza anyway you want it with as much toppings as it will hold. Best part is that there is no shortage in topping variety. Went in last Saturday afternoon for lunch. While waiting in line watching 2 young woman prepare food, there was an issue at register with a meal that had an error. The man working the register walked over to where the women were making pizza and screamed at one of them to remake that customers pizza next " BECAUSE YOU SCREWED IT UP!" All the customers in line just looked at each other. The poor woman started to cry. It was so inappropriate, rude and unprofessional. The pizza was very good but after eating I made the mistake off visiting the bathroom. It was probably the dirtiest restaurant bathroom I have ever been in. The sink looked like it hadn't been cleaned all day and the drain was CLOGGED with hair. I'm not normally one to complain about a little mess but this was way over the line. Thankfully I only went in to wash my hands. God only knows what the other plumbing fixtures looked like. There were only four other customers in the place. It HAS to be the North Charleston Curse... or something. If you visit the Sam Ritt location and this one, it is night and day. Much prefer the Sam Ritt. The people, and the pizza, just seem to be much better there. The pizzas at this location are not bad, and the ingredients are still fresh. The layout has a lot more community tables, instead of a counter like the West Ashley, location. Size does matter too, but you can tell that this location isn't fully experienced into the concept like other MODs. I will stop here in a month or so and revisit. I hope it improves. LD read more

This is the perfect lunch pizza place. The pizza sizes are perfect and you can build your own pizza. Careful! The little pies come out of a beautiful brick oven piping hot. Delicious pizza! They have tons of toppings and you can build your own or go with their pizza creations, which is what we did. Two of us shared a mini "crosby" and a mini "dominic" (with gorgonzola added). Both were super tasty, crispy crust, fast. Friendly staff, clean and fresh environment, and modest prices. Tried ordering from this place for the very first time, since I read reviews about how great it was. I ordered my pizza online and my fiancé headed there at the time it was supposed to be ready. Well, turns out when he got there they had not even started to make it and it was ten minutes after the pickup time. Then they said they'd make it, he waited another 15 minutes and THEN had a guy come out to say that they weren't making it because they didn't have the toppings I wanted. AFTER the fact of paying and WAITING all that time. They never even called me after online ordering it to tell me they didn't have certain things. I've never been more upset and disappointed then I am tonight. With three hungry kids at home, I'm beyond livid. Got my refund with no apology from the "manager". Let me start by saying the food was great!! The attitude from the staff, I could have done without. My co-workers and I have gotten food from here on several occasions and we have brought our customers in there as well because we love the food. On this particular day, maybe the stars were not in order, the planets were not aligned.. hell.. maybe pluto was in uranus.. They were rude, impatient as we were picking our selection and not even listening and forcing us to repeat ourselves..(it lunch time as well). slamming down trays and looks of disgust.. didn't do them any justice. This place is clean and reminds me of a glorified subway. You order the base and move down the line picking out your toppings in a subway style layout. The pizza is cooked fast in a brick fire oven. It was crispy and the crust perfect. Slightly black in a few small spots however overall well surpases acceptable. It was flavorful and tasty. Inside seating is adequate and parking is small due to being shared with two other businesses. Overall a must try if your turning on Ashley Phosphate any time soon. read more

When they finally get to take your order they have an attitude like they don't want to be there. I came in one time & they were trading out items with an older man for free food. While me & my family waited yet again to be served. Corporate needs to investigate this location. Ok the saga continues...but only because we love the pizza! The problem was, and continues to be, the loud fellas who are generally there on weeknights. One evening it was 92, and we chose to eat outside, because ONCE AGAIN, it was just too loud to eat in doors! And the loud playing impacts how they do their work too. One evening our pizza was left to burn, and just the other evening (the night we recently sat outside), we watched them drop a pizza on the floor. The member of the crew we don't usually hear being loud (longer hair kinda chill fella) joked this other young gentleman, the shift leader, drops them often. We were finished with our pizza by the time this poor couple even left with theirs to go. --------------------------------------------------- Ok this review below was a few months ago. Recent experiences, whenever the shift leader Cheyenne is there, are MUCH better. She is hard working and professional. Oh and they have wine now, so Good Job y'all!! I will say on the service though, even since the review below, when the other crews are there, they don't greet you, and they are super loud--even when the restaurant was empty, it was so loud we actually left. But again, if Cheyenne is there, it's great! More leaders like her please! We enjoy the convenience and speed of MOD Pizza. Having said that, there are several problems with the way they operate this one. My family and I eat there in the evenings, so this may not be a problem throughout the entire day, but it is certainly in the evenings. When you walk in, they are not quick to greet you, and they will leave you standing there waiting while they chitchat and play. We've eaten there many, many times, and tonight they're even throwing kitchen supplies at one another. You finally place your order, and go look for somewhere to sit and there isn't a clean table. They're not so busy that they couldn't have cleaned them. One member of the team even just went in the dining room to clean the trash, but did not wipe a single table. I had to take napkins and get water from The drink dispenser to clean our table. They continue to play while they're in the back. I want people to be able to enjoy the work, but it is distracting and incredibly unprofessional. Oh and don't look at the floor, out front or where they are making the food. And don't expect the folks in the kitchen to have on appropriate shoes or appropriate attire, and get ready to see underwear. Management needs to do some Team training in the evenings and establish some guidelines for attire and a schedule for restaurant cleaning. read more
