Great salads, almost-great pizza. Great price. The small (under $5) salad is a great deal as it will fill you up by itself and includes meat and cheeses if you want. The only thing about the pizza is that even though the crust gets crisp on the outside, it's a little gummy under the ingredients and the ingredients on top don't get cooked really well. I recommend asking for an extra 30 seconds int he oven if you don't mind that level of crispiness, to try to get it all cooked. read more

We took pizza home the first time and ate in the restaurant for our second visit. The pizza is thin crust and cooked in a gas fired oven similar in style to wood fired pizza ovens. The pizza is very good. The GF crust was OK and the salads average. One very noticeable thing for me was the lack of a recycling bin for the plastic and glass containers. We took all our recycling home. Please provide recycling at your restaurants. read more

I've eaten here many times and ordered a carafe of wine with my pizza. Today a server told me she couldn't serve me a carafe for only one person. I told her I had been served a carafe many times before. She told me my previous servers didn't know Arizona law. I went to my seat and looked up AZ statutes. It's legal to serve up to a liter of wine per person. Mod's carafe is 1/2 liter. I went back and told her. I gave her the AZ statute. A.R.S. 4-244.23. No apology, no offer to rectify the situation. Looks like their servers (i.e. a young woman with horned rim glasses, purple hair, a backwards baseball cap, and a lip ring) need better training. read more

What a wonderful place to eat. The food was great, and just a fun place to be. What really made this place standout tho was the staff. Kevin, Renee, Seth and Zarin really made this an awesome experience. You can tell how much they all enjoy working with one another, and they are great with both new customers and their regulars. As soon as I walked into the door the entire staff had a fun playful attitude that was welcoming, and made this dining out experience one of the best I've had in a long time. Another amazing thing about the staff is they are amazing artist. I put in a request with very specific details of a drawing I wanted on my paper that my pizza would be served on. My entire table and I were super excited once our food came out. I was in total anticipation to see what they came up because I love creativity. As I removed each super yummy piece, me and the entire table were just laughing uncontrollably. Any advice for customers is ask them to draw you a picture. These guys are hilarious and come up with the funniest things. That staff made the place. I live 30 min away from that location but I'll tell you what. I would make that drive any day just because of that staff. MOD pizza should be proud to have a team like that, and lucky that they make that place not just a restaurant but an experience. read more

If you've seen these Mod Pizza's coming up in various strip malls around town, and you love pizza, this place is a must try. I got a a large caspian pizza and it was DELICIOUS. One thing to mention is don't take the sizes seriously. The small is equivalent to a personal pan, the medium is like a larger personal pan and the large is like a small pizza. Still very good though and reasonably priced. read more

This is such a welcome addition to the local food scene. Tucson is a great restaurant town but Oro Valley could stand to have more establishments. We tried it a month ago and have been back several times. The concept of a build your own right in front of you by a very friendly staff really works for me. And the price is so reasonable. My only caveat is that you should eat it immediately. Leftovers did not hold up several hours later. We just got back from a long road trip and will go there today for lunch. read more
