I am a recent transplant from San Diego and have been looking for a decent pizzeria that is not the typical crap from Dominoes, Pizza Hut, etc. We have eaten here a few times in the past seven months. The interior decor is pretty lame with huge flat screen televisions on all the walls playing different sports games. I find it not very inviting for that reason. Many times the tables had not been wiped down as well. The pizza is flavorful, with good cheese and sauce, but for my taste the crust is WAY too thick and takes up too much of the pizza. I prefer a New York style crust so we ask for the thin crust when we go. My last experience (any maybe very well my LAST experience) was a take-out order placed on January 1, 2026. My mom and I had ordered and paid for it online through their website. When I went to pick it up the surly young gal at the counter asked for the last four numbers of the card used to pay. In my 40+ years of ordering food to go I have NEVER been asked for that information. When I explained I did not have that since my mom paid for it, she refused to give me our pizza, and basically held it ransom. We had even ordered a take-out less than three months prior and they never asked for that info. I guess it is a new corporate request and I must say it is a stupid idea. Since I also didn't have my phone with me I had her call my mom's phone so she could verify the numbers verbally and release our now-getting-cold-pizza from the jail it was in. Long story short, my mom didn't answer her phone (who answers unrecognized numbers anymore?) and so I asked to speak to a manager who then proceeded to say they could verify with the address on file as a secondary means. Why was I not offered that solution to begin with when it became clear I did not have the card with me? This was such an annoyance that I have NEVER experienced when picking up food to go, that I do not think we will give them our business again. When I first went to the counter I told the girl my name when asked, and confirmed the order, and that should be all they need to give someone a pizza that has been paid for. Management needs to reconsider this new thing of theirs and come up with something else. Too bad there just aren't many good pizza joints in this food desert I now find myself living in. Went to Barro's between Christmas and New Year's thinking it would be quiet! Ha! This place does major business and I experienced why! Large menu with unlimited options to customize your pie, crust, cheeses, veggies, meat! Impressive. The room was large but managed to seem intimate at the same time. Quiet , spacious comfortable. The service was excellent, friendly, efficient and helpful. No request went unanswered. After a short while dinner was served. Delicious. During the evening I noticed large number of people picking up food orders to take home, I don't believe they deliver or have a small radius of delivery. I'm very impressed with the quality and freshness of food, the reasonable price point, happy staff and customers! It is definitely worth checking out especially if you're an eastsider. Love this place! I found them when I moved to town in a welcome to Tucson mailer filled with coupons and boy am I glad they were in there! We eat pizza almost every Friday night as takeout from here. The pizza has the perfect dough consistency. Not too thick not too thin and is favorable! Their prices are great too! Inside there are a ton of tvs playing sports and a small gaming area in back. The music is lovely and the staff is always accommodating and kind. It's a large space with a large parking lot. Last time I came was for a free mini bday pizza. They mixed up my order and gave me a HUGE free drink as I waited. So I moseyed on over and they offer Pepsi products instead of coke. I opted to try the tea and it was FANTASTIC! I ordered Barro's pizza delivered. I ordered two 8" pizzas and cheesy breadsticks with Marinara. The pizzas were delivered burn your mouth hot. The delivery was when the food was promised but it was a fairly long wait. Granted, I ordered on a weekend night. The pizza was tasty, and the 8" pizza was perfect size for one with some leftover, they offered 3 different crust styles. We ordered the Barros crust. It was a thicker greasier crust but tasty. Best gluten-free crust I've eaten without it being garlicky cauliflower. Really, this is the best pizza I've ever eaten... Even compared to the pizza with gluten crust that I used to be able to eat. Evidently Mismanaged...I live less than five miles away from the store 2 hours and still havent recieved my order.... 2 hours 10 minutes.....pizza is cold and not done had to call barrios twice...second time manager came on...was gonna refund 50% I said 100 % after waiting 2 hours..glad I did....Pizza not done and cold...driver started telling me about their problems...only driver real busy....look not my problem learn to handle your business.. It had been over a year since we had Barros. Tried takeout tonight and was a little disappointed. We got one Italian sausage and one green olive. Toppings and crust tasted good. Both pizzas were quite greasy. The green olives were all clumped in a pile in the middle of the pizza. Both pizzas were only partially cut We had to cut both pizzas. It was a little bit of a let down. I don't remember their pizzas being that greasy. The greasiness is what will keep me from going back. The one positive was the crust still being good. read more

Lesson learned. Oh how I wish I had taken a picture. First time customer. Picked up two large pizzas. Price was a great value, orders were correct but what a mess of poor preparation. On a large regular pie, there was a 4" margin of dry crust devoid of toppings with a hint of dried sauce, a few shreds of dry cheese. The toppings were dropped in uneven clumps in the center. Second pie was a thin crust and the prep was better but pepperoni had an "off" flavor and it was floopy and wet, not firm or crisp. read more

This was our first time here. The parking lot was not crammed which is nice. We walked in and the restaurant is much bigger than it looks on the outside! The place was clean. Being our first time, we were not sure how it worked. We went and found a seat as we were waiting to meet some friends there. They arrived and asked if we ordered yet--uhhhh, nope! Had no idea lol. There were three of us--we got a medium pizza, cheese raviolis, two orders of wings and three sodas and cheese bread. It was just under $40 for all that food! Hubby and I were happy about that! The food was out of this world, great flavoring, not drowned in sauce (thank goodness). Didn't take long at all for the food to be served to us. The wings were super meaty! My son devoured his raviolis. (He is a super picky eater so this was a win). Gone are the days of sit down pizza places...or so I thought! I am pleasantly pleased that Barro's has brought back sit down pizza places. I was once one of those kids who enjoyed Pizza Hut night where I'd go in, play the tabletop arcade game, and watch my mom and dad have salad with their pizza. Barro's has brought all of these fond memories back and now I can share these fun nights with my daughter! Barro's Pizza is so hot and fresh when your food gets to you. It's so full of flavor and the cheese is so melty. It's not overly greasy where you need a paper towel to sop it all up. When I'm craving pizza and want to make it a pizza night with my daughter, we come here every time. They also have a children's play area with child's kitchen and Lego table for them to play with while they wait for their food. There's a television in that area that plays kids shows for them to watch as well. I believe there's also a claw machine. It's touch and go if that is working or not. But it doesn't matter because my kid is more interested in playing with the other kids that are usually there. Great job, Barro's! After a day of traveling and hiking, Barro's Pizza is exactly what we needed. Since we were driving to Sedona the next day, we did not want any leftovers. The 12" Barro's Special was a perfect choice for my husband and I. We were greeted graciously at the counter where you placed your order. We ordered pizza and water and sat in a booth to wait. It only took about 15 minutes to receive our pizza. We were so hungry, and the pizza was so good that I forgot to take a picture of it until we were halfway done. The pizza here is great if you get a specialty pizza with extra sauce. (We've learned. Single topping pizzas have very sparse toppings and the amount of sauce is barely adequate.). I really like the crust which is medium thick without being undercooked or doughy. The counter staff are all helpful and the wait isn't very long on any day except Friday or Saturday. (if you want pizza from here when they're busy, you'll want carry out--they have online ordering) The prices are good, $10 for a mini specialty pizza, $3 99 for the small garden salad. They have self-serve drinks with Pepsi products and house-brewed teas in a few flavors. Great pizza (if you order the right things) mediocre salad with all iceberg lettuce. We eat here every month or so, probably 4.5 stars. The first time we came we didn't like the dry pizza with very few toppings, so you need to ask for extra sauce (free). Parking is often limited, which is a surprise when the restaurant is mostly empty. read more

They pile on the ingredients, that's for sure. The restaurant looks comfortable to dine in, plenty of booths, tables, and raised tables. Crust is pretty good. We had half Kona, half make our own with sausage, meatball, pepperoni, xtra mushrooms, black olives. Good thing I ordered xtra mushrooms as the cut them very thin and really didn't get a mushroom experience in spite of it. Taste is OK, just not excited over it and won't return. But I recommend you try it to see if it is your cup o' tea. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience.
