Continually put me on hold for 10 minutes. Walked in to the restaurant still on hold with only 2 people waiting inside. The first time I was asked if I would hold, I politely said sure. The next 4 times the phone rang they would pick it up & just put me immediately back on hold with absolutely no communication. The last time they just hung up on me! I'm sorry but you need to train your employees in customer service. You've lost a customer but some how I doubt any of your employees could care less about it! read more

Pizza was good. However, I watched an employee drop his pen onto the floor, then using his "Floor Fingers" he groped around on the floor until he found it, then resumed handling people's pizzas. Not good. UPDATE: I'm disappointed to report nobody from the business reached out to me with either an apology or a promise to address such unhealthy behaviors, so sanitation issues are not repeated. I guess sanitary conditions and good customer service in that location aren't important to the management. Sad. read more

The food deserves 5 stars. I deducted a star because the dining area is so cold, you can hang meat. Even with our winter jackets, it was too cold, and we were forced to sit outside. Update: still too cold in the dining area. I asked an employee about it, he said that's just the way it is. Apparently they can't properly regulate the temperature, and keep it super cold to combat the the kitchen heat. I'm not the only one in the dining area bundled up like we're on the slopes. I'd eat here more frequently if it weren't for this probl January 2019: I'M BACK.... and it's still too frigging cold in MOD Pizza. Our dinner conversation is all about how cold we all are. Not the best location of the Mod pizza places I've been. The staff just really doesn't seem to put much love into the product. The crusts look like they've been sitting around for a while before they get customized and cooked. The toppings are good but the oven duty needs better supervision. My pizza was poorly cooked, had bubbles that should have been popped during cooking so the cheese doesn't evacuate the spot on the pizza. The crust had too much char on the bottom like the oven deck needed cleaning. read more

Ooh yum. This is the place to go when you have a group who can never agree on pizza toppings! The pizzas are brick oven fired to perfection, neither soggy or dry, and always what you're in the mood for because you pick all the ingredients. If you're like me, you have big ideas about ingredient combinations but hold back because adding toppings is criminally expensive at most pizza joints. Not so at MOD. Everything is one price, so you can afford to get all gourmet and creative. And if your creation, like mine, involves a dozen or more ingredients, you'll find they add the ingredients judiciously instead of overloading the pizza to the point of soggy crust. Mod Pizza's pizza is really good - thin crust, easy on the cheese, not super greasy or filling like other pizza places. Just don't overdo the toppings or it will turn out soggy. The BBQ sauce pizza with bacon is amazing! The salads are extremely expensive ... especially if you're just a lettuce and dressing kind of person. Maybe if you pile on the toppings it's worth it but I cringe every time my daughter asks for a salad. Small romaine with caesar dressing, $6. McDonald's $1.50 salads are bigger, for comparison. My problem with this particular location is this: I spent $85 including tip and when the pizzas came out they looked like crap. Pizza bubbles all over them (if you aren't familiar, pizza bubbles move the topping and create more crust in the middle of the pizza, or wherever they pop up). See picture for an example. When I mentioned it I was told this is their signature look. We eat here pretty frequently, usually pick up after t-ball or softball. Tonight I called on our way home from practice and Shantell wouldn't take my order without a credit card. I've never had to pay ahead of time ever. Not to mention her one word responses to everything were pretty snarky and rude. I wasn't going to come because I was so angry how she talked to me, but explain that to a 4 year old. Anyway came into the store and everyone I experienced face to face was great, pizza was great as usual, decided to ask if this was a new policy... They people who rang me up had no clue what I was talking about. This girl apparently just didn't want to do her job. Frustrated she made my night take an extra 15 mins. The pizza here was very good. The crust is crispy but not too "crackery" (if that's even a word) and the toppings were fresh and plentiful. We tried the "Kane" and it was delicious. Hubby took the kids here for lunch and had nothing but great feedback! Anywhere you can take an 8 year old and a 2 year old for a meal with no complaints (that isn't McDonald's) is a win in our book! Hubby said the crust was phenomenal, the selection was great and the quality of the Ingredients was high. Staff was courteous, friendly and efficient! Went in for a late lunch today. Husband ordered a pizza and I ordered a salad. Got the salad right away since they made it while I was in line. We waited a really long time and no one ever called my husband's name to get his pizza. He noticed three pizzas sitting on the counter top so he went up to ask about his pizza. His cold pizza was sitting below the counter. His name was not on the pizza nor did they call his name. Also noticed the entire restaurant was not clean and the bathrooms were in need of attention. The amount you pay for the amount of stuff you get on your pizza is amazing. I've been here maybe 5 times and each time loved it. I've discovered the pizza salad and it's a new love. I love pizza and salad- thank you for merging two delicious ideas to one great meal! Things I like about MOD: friendly staff welcoming me, tons of fresh yummy ingredients that I can load on with no extra cost, pizza doesn't take forever to cook, tasty shakes to top off my meal, easy garbage/silverware/to-go box stations and plenty of seating with views. Incredible topping options including shaved roasted Brussels sprouts... Are you kidding! First time customer so I got a free drink, sure enough they had caffeine free caramel pear iced tea. Restaurant is clean and looks great, only downfall is the females making the pizza. They are wearing hats but their hair is swinging all over the front of their face, kind of defeats the purpose of the hat. Hair should be pulled back in a pony tail or bun and the hat over it. I'd tried MOD Pizza for the first time recently while visiting relatives in CA. Since it was so good, we decided to place an online order at this location last night (Sept 15). Online ordering was simple. When my husband went to pick up the order, he was shocked at how crowded it was not only in the parking lot, but also inside...people were lined up out the door! (We found out later that there was a school fundraiser going on there, so that accounted for some of it.) I originally tried MOD out because I assumed they had pasta (they don't). I was only disappointed momentarily because I found out I could have my salad made to my specifications. I chose all my ingredients and was surprised at the reasonable price considering how many items I chose, especially proteins. I also gave the desert sticks a shot....Get them!! The restaurant itself was clean and modern and filled up quick around noon. I snuck a taste of the lemonade in my water cup (shhhh don't tell) and it's what I'll get next time I'm there, super tasty. It's new and shiny, trendy with a old fashion flair. I really liked the decor, but what was even better was the greeting I received when I walked in the door. Very friendly and welcoming. The order line was fun and the staff made helpful suggestions. My pizza was mozzarella, basil, garlic and asiago cheese with some roasted Brussel sprouts. It was delicious! New to Oro Valley. Concept created by the guy that created Seattle Coffee. In our eternal search for good pizza in Tucson, we wondered over to this recently opened location. Cracker crust pizza priced by the size , not by the number of toppings. Choose from the menu or mix and match your own. Same concept as ordering a sandwich at Subway. Pizza's are made to order. By the time you pay, get your drinks and settle in at a table, the pizzas are done. Good for a work day lunch. Building interior is moderne industrial with concrete floors, open ceilings with wiring and ventilation for all the world to see. No flat screen TVs. Music was way loud when we were there. Some craft brews on tap. Per the missus,a lousy wine selection. Pizza? It's edible, but I'm not a fan of cracker crust. Overall, MOD competes with ZPizza. I think ZPizza had MOD beat on the pizza and the beer selection. We'll rarely go to either because "She who lets me live with her" wants a decent wine selection. So, listen up guys, upgrade the wine. I've eaten here many times and ordered a carafe of wine with my pizza. Today a server told me she couldn't serve me a carafe for only one person. I told her I had been served a carafe many times before. She told me my previous servers didn't know Arizona law. I went to my seat and looked up AZ statutes. It's legal to serve up to a liter of wine per person. Mod's carafe is 1/2 liter. I went back and told her. I gave her the AZ statute. A.R.S. 4-244.23. No apology, no offer to rectify the situation. Looks like their servers (i.e. a young woman with horned rim glasses, purple hair, a backwards baseball cap, and a lip ring) need better training. read more
