I haven't had MOD Pizza in a long time, and I'm glad that I came back. I went in for their Nurses' week BOGO deal which is awesome of them. Service was great, I ordered my pizzas, showed my work badge, and was told thanks for my line of work. I ordered two types of pizzas. One was a thin crust with spicy red sauce, pepperoni, and various veggies and the other was a thicker crust with a green pesto sauce, sausage, and various veggies. The pizza tasted fine, but the crust was ultra thin; the "mod" sized pizza is about the size of a shrink-flated frozen pizza at the grocery store... tasted that was too. Not bad, but not worth the price. The employees were slow and uncoordinated; they didn't seem to be communicating with each other. They all seemed to be in their own little world and not attentive to the customers or each- other. This made for quite a wait (falling short of the "superfast" objective). First of all... the pizza is awesome, built to your tastes (pick a make your own and add as much or as little of specific toppings). It's all at a great price. It's clean inside and out on the decently sized patio The pizza is bomb! Spicy red sauce instead of marinara and then also you can get dipping or topper sauces (they have the "good" ranch) that are complimentary. Second of all... and why I choose Mod over the other similar pizza places -- they are a second chance employer! That means some of the lovely employees you may encounter have had a prior run in with the law which often makes it nearly impossible for someone to find a job once they are back on the outside. Wow wee talk about shitty service. I walk in, no one says hi. The lady at the counter is clearly busy making a pizza. I see 2 other employees in the back. They see me. They talk for about 5 minutes while the other lady is just working by herself. She said she'd help me when she could but was very busy. The 2 employees in the back, trash. THE GOOD: Quality of pizza at this location is on par with my expectations of MOD, which is one of my favorite of these types of build-your-own fire oven fast casual pizza restaurants because of the variety of toppings they offer. THE BAD: The Blackberry Lemonade is some good stuff and was craving it. I wanted to order some, however I was told they were no longer serving it for the day. I looked over at their dispensers and was being emptied out into the buckets. It was 8:10pm, mind you, and they don't close until 10pm. I get that they want to get a jump on closing duties, but eliminating your best beverage 2 hours early when it only takes 2 minutes to put away is just bad for business. I settled for the glass-bottled Orange Fanta. The orange fanta did not hit the spot as the bottled version has a weird after taste. Pizza was amazing as usual but there was a worker who was so incredibly rude, it was making my friend and I and others in the store extremely uncomfortable. This woman snapped at a group of young girls for simply knocking on the bathroom door to see if it was in use and told them to find another bathroom. She also told me I couldn't get ranch (while checking me out) and I had to ask someone else for it, while my friend had a different worker check her out and she was immediately given her ranch. This woman was either having the worst day of her entire life or she regularly acts like this. Whichever reason, she should not be working in service. read more

I love coming to this particular mod pizza because it is an especially nice atmosphere with a side patio and also because it is a part of the Tempe marketplace mall where you can do other shopping if you need. We usually come here to grab a bite to eat and talk about projects with coworkers and then we go grab some ice cream around the corner at Mojo yogurt which is another reason why I love this location! They are always super friendly here, the service is great! Becky is the one who always helps us and she is so pleasant and funny as well. She does a great job at putting our pizza together it always tastes amazing! The toppings are always fresh and taste wonderful and there are a wide variety of vegetable or meat toppings or three or four different types of cheeses if you want just a cheese pizza. I keep trying with this one, but even a different location I'm getting the same result- very sloppy & entirely lacking certain toppings. I even ordered WELL before rush-hour on a Friday. But it seems delivery makes them feel like they can throw crap in a box & get away with it. Guaranteed it has never been that way when I've opted to pick up my order, in person. I'm not sure why the kitchen doesn't seem to care about quality. You can clearly see from my photos. One pizza was supposed to be a spinach, garlic, grilled chicken w/ jalapeños... there were maybe 3 shreds of spinach. Not a bit more. It may as well have been left out altogether. The jalapeños were on the heavy side, for stark contrast. And somehow onion got thrown on there when I definitely did not select onion as a topping on that one. It's like they went overboard on half the toppings then a pinch of others... not to mention I had to go ahead and spread them out evenly, on my own, instead of a total heap in the very center. The bbq chicken pizza I ordered was a teensy bit better, but also same complaint. The toppings were just thrown in a heap at the center. And someone went a little overboard w/ the bbq "drizzle"... kinda drowned it. Thanks for a few strands of red onion, also thrown to one side? To top it off, neither pizza was cut, aside from once down the middle. WHY?!? It is ridiculous they'd opt to get that far but not finish the job! Didn't appreciate having to basically re-prepare what we paid to have done in the first place. I just don't understand why this happens nearly every time I order delivery from this place. Why even try anymore? I feel ripped off paying $10+ per CUSTOM pizza when the ingredients are either scarce or entirely overboard, then thrown together so carelessly it looks like a toddler was in the kitchen helping Grandma, who didn't opt to correct it before the oven. I'm kind of fed up with the constant lack of quality here. And the packaging WOULD be good, if they didn't shove it in a plastic bag & seal it. The bag accumulates so much condensation inside that the boxes are entirely soggy when you go to remove them- it's gross, and leaves a lingering taste of cardboard (also not very sustainable when others are using recyclable, paper bags). This used to be a favorite & really good pizzas for a decent price having unlimited options. But EVERY single time I order anymore, it's getting more sloppy and not worth the cost. read more

Been to other locations, but this is our favorite. It's conveniently located and just a short walk from the parking lot. I really like the made to order, unlimited toppings on an individual pizza. The size is just right and with the wide selection of possible toppings, you can make it just how you like it. Seating is still limited with covid but many are just taking their pizza to go. We haven't had to worry about finding a spot to sit at our recent visits. read more

I called and got placed on hold for forever and then asked to call a different number. When I finally talked to someone they said they could only give me $3 back for the mistake because it was just a topping error.... Keep in mind that I live 45 minutes away and could not go back and the person who's pizza was messed up couldn't eat it. Clearly there is a lack of care for customer service. I was treated so rudely and when I got off the phone they called back to say they wouldn't issue a refund unless I emailed their support email. It's clear they don't train their employees in basic manners. I am just a fan of these pizza places that make pizzas right on the spot for you like Subway. Mainly, I get the unlimited toppings. And I keep loading the toppings on layer-by-layer and so on. By the time the person is finished putting the toppings on, the people are so heavy they can barely put it in the oven. That's how I make my pizzas! It is not too expensive, and you can get a lot of food there. As long as you get the unlimited topping pizza! So if you eat a lot, I highly recommend this place. And if you only get like one or two toppings, well I guess there's nothing wrong with that either. I've came here many times during my breaks at work or just to eat here for a quick bite. Not going to lie, at first I wasn't a big fan at first because I was loyal to another pie place. But after a while, I grew to like it. I normally like their personal Mod Pizza. I usually get it with Garlic and Tomato sauce. I add pepperoni, bacon, and sausage. Then I put Spinach and mushrooms and black pepper to top it off! They are relatively fast and their choices to drink from the fountain a little bit different. They don't have brand coke or Pepsi products but I'm sure they are great. A personal Mod Pizza is probably around $11-$12 after tax. I actually just realized that they have kid pizza and kid salad! And they are perfect size for people who just want a quick bite to get through a few hours. And those are usually $5. I definitely would recommend for convenience. read more

This place is located conveniently inside the Tempe Marketplace close to Charming Charlie's. This was supposed to be a quick bite to eat but it turned into an experience. At 8 bucks, unlimited toppings the sky is the limit with options. I decided to try one of the specialties in which I did the Mad Dog with half white sauce, half marinara sauce with extra garlic all over before the rest of the toppings went on. I even added red peppers for the personalization effect. Once it came out I added Sriracha and ranch and went to town. I must've been hungry from all the shopping cause I finished the entire pie! The crust was thin was held all the toppings well and had an amazing crunch. I paired the pizza with red wine in the can. Yall it was very good wine and I did get a buzz off of it!
