A lot of places say they have a "famous [dish]" but their spikes are legendary. Make sure you get ranch because it's also really great and compliments both the spikes and pizza well. Whether you dine in or dine out, Pizza Caboose is pretty unique. Their delivery car is actually a truck that is supposed to look like a caboose and the cabin keeps the pizza warm. If you dine in, you'll definitely get a wave of nostalgia. The interior of the place is a lot like a pizza place your parents would take you after a soccer game in the 90's. I mean that in the best way possible. Like others have noted, this isn't the cheapest pizza, but I do think the cost is justified.

My order was through the Slice app. I ordered half Hawaiian/Meat (pepperoni, salami, sausage mushrooms). The dough was thin crust New York style. The sides were curled up which I found unique but the dough didn't hit it for me. I found the meat side a little salty. Maybe it was the sausage or salami. I also noticed that the mushrooms disintegrated and were barely noticeable. Some cheese looked like it wasn't melted properly. What I did find however fascinating was the ranch dressing that I requested on the side. It's really delicious. Tastes like homemade. There's no option on the app to select these sides for purchase so I requested in the special requests box and they gave me two of them. I should have requested thick crust but the app does not have this selection as well. Maybe giving them a call could have fixed that. I would probably recommend stopping by and eating in person next time instead of using the convenience of delivery which I paid a small fee on top of the tip as well.

They also sell bargain slices, tantamount to a quarter of a pie for $1.98. Elsewhere in Portland, you can buy up to $6 a slice, for a much smaller (and skimpier, in some places) slice o' pie. Couple it with a Shasta from the nearby vending machine, and you have a quick meal for about $2.25. Feed yourself or the kids on the long trip home from the market - tho I always recommend eating BEFORE grocery shopping. Another fun thing, elsewhere in the store (usually around the cheese case) you can find Leonardo's dough balls, if you are really feeling ambitious for the bake at home pizzeria experience. A slice is a slice, and this one measure up, both in heft and taste. It's a respectable product, and at $8.98 for a large whole pie, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better pizza value.
