All the reviews you read about them being rude; believe those reviews. I can tell you that they were extremely rude to us and they even asked us to go somewhere else and get off their private property. Totally rude! I find it totally intriguing that they would respond to kicking someone off their property RUDELY just for having lunch there but they won't comment on the reviews about their products and services. Brian, after informing your employee we were having lunch there then being told "this is private property, go somewhere else" and then the employee walking off is not my idea of kindly asking. I think you should have called the police, they would have handled it more tactfully and they would have recognized the difference between a bottle of water and alcohol. Maybe you should look at the "swamp" behind your store. With the spring thaw with the stream running and ducks landing and playing on the newly melted water, it was totally tranquil and reminded me of our property back home in Maine. Let me start off by saying that I was greatly surprised by this place & did NOT know what to expect. I think I made the jobs of both Lauren & her sister (whom I fail to remember the name of, Taylor?) very easy. I know which line I need to look at & the (2) dresses I needed to try as a bridesmaid for a destination wedding. Regardless, the first thing I loved was that I was allowed to be accompanied by my boyfriend at my appointment. The second thing I loved was that these girls were built just like me, taller & curvy. It felt like they completely understood my frame & I didn't feel intimidated. Despite the pandemic, they had several appointments, but they were appropriate in keeping people distanced & making sure the dressing rooms were clean after each use. It was weird trying on gowns with a mask on, but what can ya do? When you first walk in, it seems like a very small place. But, to your surprise, it opens up out back to a large area with several racks of dresses (like a fancy warehouse) with a bunch of dressing rooms. During my appointment, I felt extremely important. Lauren & Taylor (?) were right outside my dressing room the entire time. Lauren was there to help zip the dresses I tried on & again, I felt so comfortable. They were both funny & vibrant which made the experience so pleasant. Lauren was also honest which was refreshing. She genuinely cared about me & my comfort & wanted to make certain that I felt confident in my choice. After only 20 minutes or so, I selected a gown & after they took measurements to make sure I ordered the correct size. I went a size bigger just to make sure when it came in I could have it adjusted to fit me better. The price (Bill Levkoff designer) was extremely reasonable for going through them. It can be ordered directly online for about the same price (before shipping) but the experience & making sure the dress works is far more valuable. I am more than impressed with Modern Bride & highly suggest them for brides & their bridal party. They never measured my daughter. Defaulted to floor model size she tried on. When it came in, it was too small and they said sorry - not enough to let out! Their suggestion; bring it home, wear around to stretch out like the floor model. She explained she had 2 dogs and lived with her fiancé . Their response - we have no other suggestions. When I shared the story with my seamstress, she said she could've fixed it. We now own the dress so we were in a position of finding something off the rack. The shop we found, Blushing Bride in Peabody, was amazing - my daughters new dress was so amazing and unique!! Be careful shopping at modern bride. They don't stand behind their product! I didn't have a great idea of what kind of gown I wanted for my wedding, but she took what I liked from each gown and offered some great suggestions that definitely made me think about which gown to get! Yesterday I bought my wedding dress here, all thanks to Delaney! There were two dresses that I loved but could not decide between and they were VERY different. She was so knowledgable about all of the designers and their specific gowns and brought me out the PERFECT dress that was a combination of the two. She listened to all of my wishes and gave me not only the best bridal shopping experience (this was my 3rd store) but the most beautiful wedding dress at an amazing price! She also made sure to add in extra small details (belt and veil) that absolutely completed the look. She knew I loved cap sleeves and one of the other girls working even called the company to see what changes I could make to my dress to make it perfect. This business is terrible. I had spoken to an associate about a tux return, stating that my ex was unable to return a tux due to him being out of state and that I would return it for him that night once I got off work to avoid a hefty late fee. Shortly after I received a call from the manager saying he was calling the cops on me for stealing a tux. I explained to him the conversation I just had with another associate and he called me a liar and went off on me. I did return the tux that night, as promised and the manager wouldn't even speak to me and made another associate deal with the return. If you need a tux rental, go somewhere else! read more

My daughter and I went to Modern Bride after visiting 2 other bridal salons in Nashua. I'll let them remain nameless but let's just say the experience with them made me appreciate Modern Bride's excellence even more! We walked in and were introduced to 2 wonderful young women to assist us - Kassie and Renee G. At first I felt that they weren't asking enough questions but they were just very tactful and respectful - nothing was rushed! The area for my daughter to look at the gowns was great, it was more private than the others and included a step up platform which was so important to get a better feel of the dress. I'd noticed that Renee was petite like my daughter and I mentioned to her that it's so hard to try on gowns as they're all swimming on her. She knew exactly what I meant and immediately ran around picking out the most beautiful gowns. Both Kassie and Renee had excellent taste. They both really cared about my daughter finding the perfect dress for her big day, none of that feeling we were just a number like the first one we went to! (Can we say the attitude and drama of 'Yes to the Dress' show?! Awful!) Also, they really cared about our budget parameters and were so kind! Never once did I get the feeling they were treating us differently because it might have been lower than they preferred! Within literally minutes, my daughter was presented with the most incredible dress - THE dress! So perfect for her body shape and petite frame! If you have a petite frame you have to get an appointment with Renee G! And if you are looking for an incredible experience, save yourself the wasted time and frustration and make an appointment with Modern Bride first!! From the peaceful unrushed atmosphere, the beautiful presentation of the store's inventory, the incredible sales women (Kassie and Renee were the best!! So kind and so knowledgeable!) The alterations consultant was also so easy to work with and was an expert in her field! Despite some negative reviews of Modern Bride, I have to say I may be one of the few exceptions here. I had a fantastic time at MB. Its is big and I only got through 2 full racks when I had chosen 6 dresses I wanted to try on. Courtney was my bridal consultant and she was excellent. She was by far the best one I had out of all the places I have gone. She was engaging and really knew which dresses wold work for me. She has a great eye and perfectly arranged the order of the dresses I would try on making me falling in love and having a really difficult time deciding. She was so patient with me when I was to try on the same 2 dresses 4 times. I absolutely fell in love with the first dress I tried on, it was different from all the ones I had my eye on before. But as we went down the line, the first dress was not the dress i bought. MB has a huge selection and like I said before, I didn't even have a chance to go through all of them when I found "the one". Courtney took my measurements and had another lady take them to make sure and she allowed me to make the final decision on what size I should order. I did go with her recommendation on sizing. You put half down and then when your dress comes in, you paid the rest. It takes about 4 months for the dress to come in and this is pretty quick compared to other places who told me it would take close to 8 months. We'll see. You are not obligated to have your alterations done there which is a good thing for brides who come to NH to buy their dress to save on the sales tax. Overall, a great time, lots of dresses to choose from and nice staff. And they don't do appointments which is a bit odd since I am not quite sure how busy they are on weekends but on this Wednesday afternoon I went, it was just me and someone else looking for a prom dress. read more

Made an appointment and went in to try on dresses. I had Makayla (she gave me a card but I don't have it on me so not sure that's the right spelling) and Delaney who helped her. I loved my experience!! They were so great, attentive to my likes and dislikes and really made me feel comfortable. I recommend an appointment during the week- I had the shop to myself! I was here last weekend to go gown shopping with my best friend. She's getting married next September, and this shop was having a sale the Fri-Sun after Thanksgiving. The staff was VERY helpful to her and us. Our sales person, Sara, was, simply, great. She sensed when my best friend was getting overwhelmed (we were in there on the last day of the sale, and she basically had to decide if she wanted to get the dress she tried on, and that we (her mom, her sister, her future mother-in-law, my mom, and 2 other members of the bridal party and myself) all loved that day, or hold off -- no easy thing to decide). She actually suggested, alongside us, that she walk away and think on it, and to call if she decided she wanted the dress. For someone who is trying to make a sale, I thought that was pretty decent of her. My friend left & went somewhere to eat, think, and talk about it, and ended up going back there and getting the dress at the sale price (10% off if you wanted them to bustle & press it, or 25% off without those services). The shop had TONS of gowns, so I can see why it was overwhelming for her. I only wish we had gotten in there on the Friday, so she would have had a couple of days to think about it, but it just wasn't doable for her. They also have mother of the bride gowns, and bridesmaids dresses too (a few the girls and I tried on). Plus, prom dresses, as well as the front section of the store is underwear and lingerie (oohlala). It's just a nice, sort of out of the way, bridal shop. It's worth checking out if, you know, you're getting married, or know someone who is. read more

Ashley WAS FABULOUS! Not sure why they don't take appointments, but I think they should start. It allows the bride to feel as thought they have a consultant all to themselves, undivided attention throughout the whole appointment, that a block of time has been reserved just for her. But... I went on a weekday, and the place was empty (lucky for me!). Ashely was extremely knowledgable, friendly, and helpful! She was attentive to both me and my entourage. I did not end up finding "the one", but my experience there was lovely and I would recommend them to ANYONE! They also have a large array of bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride options. Its a large warehouse type of building, very roomy, lighting was great! They offered free bustle and pressing for many (not all) of their dresses. Seamstress on site for any alterations, which is HUGE! Really a great place! read more

Some making CLEAR eye contact with me but continued to walk by me. Made me so uncomfortable. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. So my original plan was to fly to MA/NH from LA and spend four days with 8 appointments to find my dress with my friends and family from the area. To be honest, I was dreading this task a bit because it seemed overwhelming and time consuming. I had my first appointment at Modern Bride with an old friend of mine Michaela. Not only did she make my experience exciting and simple, she pulled all the dresses in advance that I had planned on trying on so it was quick and painless. She suggested a dress she found that she thought I'd like, and at first I only wanted to try the ones I had seen online but I agreed to try her suggestion first. And guess what... the FIRST DRESS at the FIRST APPOINTMENT was my dream and that's the one I ended up buying. I was SO impressed with her intuition and anticipation for my wants and desires of the perfect dress, things I didn't even know for myself!!!! I had an amazing experience both with her and the Modern Bride team overall. If I get married again, I'll certainly be returning here hahaha!!! I had heard some disappointing reviews on modern bride, I was apprehensive to go there but my girl friend said I needed to just try things on and get a feel for wedding dresses that would be special enough for me. somewhere non-committal. we got there when they first opened on a Saturday and Amber greeted us and gave us the run down. she was sweet and knowledgable, showed us where to stay comfortable to budget and let us just help ouselves. she wasn't hovery or pushy, but was always there when we were ready with a question or request. Amber was so easy to work with, I barely knew myself or my style, but she picked right up on it. given that I was just supposed to try things out, I was shocked to find three dresses I loved, one Amber suggested. we synced our calendars so I could come back with my mom, and work with someone who made such a big decision so easy and fun! read more

I traveled over 2 1/2 hours to get my gown here and am SO glad I did! They have a huge selection and lots of big designers like Maggie Sottero and some of their dresses you can buy right off the rack. They don't require appointments AND offer evening hours, which is very convenient. All the staff was great- personable and helpful. I had 2-3 women helping me throughout my time there. They were very patient and got me laced up in dress, after dress, after dress... They also have an EXCELLENT selection of bridal accessories from belts and hair clips to veils and shoes. This easily could have been zero stars. *Please don't read only yhe first paragraph* I'm the matron of honor in my friends wedding and we went there looking for our bridal party dresses a couple months back. We had a TERRIBLE initial customer service encounter with one of their consultants -the worst we had ever encountered, ever. We were told "we could leave, it didn't matter that we were not pleased with hiw she was treating us, to look around, it's obvious they didn't need our business". It was a busy Saturday but we were completely shock anyone in client service would say such a thing. Having said all that, with the exception of this one consultant, this place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! After many miles of traveling and searching many locations to find dresses, we sent bavk that same day to give Modern Bride another chance. After all, we had heard such great things about them and were left completely perplexed by what we encountered. THIS TIME we were greeted by a wonderful consultant name Tayla. She was warm, friendly, genuine and instantly very helpful! Everyone from that point forward was simply a pleasure to work with! Then we worked with ODESSSA who was absolutely incredible! We found perfect dresses for all of us. This was no easy task. We all had different styles, personalities and it being a destination wedding to boot?......Odessa certainly had her work cut out for her but that fabulous lady can rock that store like nobodies business! She does this all with efficiency, a smile, sense if humor, AND keeps everyone happy and putting them in the perfect dress! The manager took the time to listen to our concerns and everyone oplogized for our previous experience and were very thankful we even returned to their establishment. We are OVER THE MOON THRILLED that we did though! I highly, highly, highly recommend Modern Bride to every bride to be and evry bridal party! Our dresses will all be in shortly and we are all genuinely looking forward to not only putting on our incredible dresses but simply to have the pleasure of seeing and consulting with Odessa again! No customer service! If you have an appointment with Debbie, CANCEL IT. Debbie was not simply rude but actively provided incorrect sizing recommendation and then denied it. I had came into the store to try on the sample size of the exact bridesmaid dress I wanted. The sample size fit my body and was a little tight in the hips. She had measured me and actively recommended me to only go up one size. Well, I got that dress and it is tighter than the smaller size in the store! How is a dress in a bigger size tighter than a smaller size? That makes no sense. So I connected with her about the issue and she kept claiming the sample dress had stretched out due to "larger girls" trying it on. When I asked why my dress isn't stretching but the seams looked to be ripping, she had no response. Strangely enough, she had assisted the bride a few months ago and wouldn't let the bride try on certain dresses as they weren't here size and said she didn't want them stretched out. I have contacted a different bridal store for them to help me, and they have been wonderful. When I mentioned I fit better in Modern Bride's smaller sample dress than the larger dress they shipped me, the other store said that was not right and wouldn't be able to happen. Clearly -- Debbie is lying about something. Additionally, another bridesmaid was out of state and had order her dress over the phone with her own measurements. Debbie claimed the measurements were wrong, berated her to get them "professionally done", and advised against the size. The other bridesmaid still ordered her size and it was correct. Debbie is incompetent when it comes to dress sizing as she showed multiple times over with different people in the wedding party. We all hated working with her and highly advise against her! read more

Looking at the store from a mother of the bride perspective: Facilities were DARK -- lighting inside the store is terrible! It's very difficult to see colors or styles without adequate lighting. The MOB dresses were on four racks by the side of the store and arranged by color. I know it's difficult to find a dress that doesn't make the poor MOB look ancient or chasing old age, but PLEASE -- how many of us are still a size 6? Having more realistic choices in sizes so that we could actually try on a dress would be very helpful. read more

The store not only do not know how to fit a dress properly but then will publicly body shame you in front of the entire store to cover up their own mistake. The owners are despicable human beings to make a person leave in tears with zero remorse. I'd rethink this one, ladies. Modern Bride in Bedford doesn't care about you or your special day... and for you bridesmaids out there, they ::really:: don't care. All of the services offered from Modern Bride were poor; from the customer service to the fittings. My friend was terribly fitted, actually, terrible doesn't even begin to describe it. My friend might as well not have been fitted at all since the dress the company ordered was so far off from her size there was no way she was getting into it. You would think the Modern Bride would have taken this opportunity to own up the fact that they did not measure correctly, but instead turned to my friend and blamed her, claiming "she must have gained weight" [for the record she lost weight but that's neither here nor there]. To compound this disappointment, the manager of Modern Bride continued to have her try on and parade around in dresses that were obviously ill fitting while other employees gawked. It was really hard to watch my very confident, very beautiful friend go through this experience... it really brought her down. I would suggest that unless you are a size 0 you take your business elsewhere. read more

This was by far the best place I visited looking for bridal gowns. I'm surprised by other reviews on here, not reflective of my 2 experiences here at all. Ask for Delaney!! She was so friendly, inviting, helpful, knew exactly how to help! The first time I went I really liked one dress, but wanted to try other places to make sure. Upon returning, Delaney was right on top of it with the dress waiting. They do not work on commission so there's no pushiness that I've experienced at other places. The selection of dresses was great, they have multiple designers and know their inventory well. It was surprisingly affordable! While I was there the second time, three other women found their dresses as well, the whole staff kept celebrating with cheers, tears were had, everyone getting the full experience. They do alterations in house and will house your dress until the big day. An absolute recommend! read more

Went here with my mom to look at wedding dresses. I wish that I lived in the area and could have bought my dress there. The lady helping us was so nice, the dresses were wonderful and well priced! It seemed like most dresses came with a free steaming and busselling. They even store the dress for you until the wedding day. If I didn't live in California and was getting married there I would have bought my dress there without going anywhere else. I can't say enough about this store. Amazing! read more

I was a little nervous shopping at Modern Bride after reading some of the reviews on this page and I think that wedding dress shopping is such a personal experience that it's hard to use someone else's experience(s) as what you'll experience. I am from NH, but currently live in DC and am doing a destination wedding in NH. The Modern Bride website & FB page are awesome and up to date and they were so helpful on the phone. I called prior to my visit to get a list of questions answered and the phone call made me more comfortable. Turns out there was going to be a Maggie Sottero trunk show the weekend I was there and I was able to make a reservation. I've read about the infamous trunk shows online and had low expectations thinking that it was going to be horribly crowded and miserable with women running around trying to get the rarest dresses. Boy was I wrong. It was really nice to have a reservation (I don't think you normally can make one on weekends). We were greeted immediately while entering the store. I was given a dressing room and an employee, Amanda, was assigned to me. I had come prepared with a list of styles (highly recommend doing this) and Amanda was able to pull them off the rack, as well as add some styles that she thought I'd like to the dressing room. There was plenty of seating for guests - some people brought their entire bridal party - I just had my mom and godmother. It felt super personalized. Amanda waited outside of the dressing room until I was ready to be helped into the gown. We found "the one" after trying on about a dozen dresses - some twice! There was no time limit or pressure to buy. Afterwards an employee took my measurements and I signed an extensive (but standard) purchase agreement. I will say that the only negative thing was that the woman who measured me put in a couple inches of "safety" in such a way that it made picking a size really difficult. (I was measured a different size for bust, hips, and thighs.). I ended up returning before my flight out of MHT and they re-measured me. Fortunately the one size anomaly was off by ~2" so I ended up going down a size. I understand why they give you a "buffer" in case you gain weight or something, but note that the buffer" is on top of them measuring you with your clothes on. Since I had two layers on it made the "recommended size" way off. I'm a 0 in street clothes and that measurement recommended a size 6..... read more

Honestly, this Bridal Shoppe deserves the 5 stars I'm giving it. Second time here for a wedding dress (once for me once for my daughter) and it was a GREAT experience. Debbie helped us and she was so kind, patient, & knowledgeable. She and another woman helped me my first time there and she helped my daughter this time. Go see Debbie at Modern Bride if you want a great experience with finding your perfect gown. I walked into Modern Bride and was instantly greeted by Debbie who got right to work with me. She asked me all the right questions, found about 6 or 7 gowns for me to try on... all of which were amazing. She made me feel comfortable and at ease with this task of finding a dress. Most importantly though she could tell which dresses I fell in love with and which ones I didn't like. It was the most amazing effortless process I think anyone could have with finding their dream wedding dress. From my first appointment to my dress pick-up just a few days before my big day, my experience at Modern Bride was outstanding! I never felt rushed, intimidated, uncomfortable or any other negative feeling. In fact, it was the exact opposite. I found my dress on the first appointment, which I did not expect (dress #6 to be exact:)). The prices are very reasonable. At the end of the day though, this is your wedding dress, don't cheap it out! I originally had a vision in my head of what I wanted in a dress. I wanted it to be simple and "flowy," nothing to it whatsoever. I then tried on a "fit and flare" all lace per my MOH suggestion. I instantly fell in love. My advice, try on everything in your budget. Don't be quick to judge by how it looks on the hanger. Because, it might be the dress that fits you perfectly and makes you look like a princess, which is exactly how you are supposed to look on your big day. I sure know that I felt like one. I didn't want to take the dress off I loved it so much :) Overall, Modern Bride is amazing and I'm beyond glad I chose them to be a huge part of my wedding. read more
