I have a toddler so free time is hard to come by, I managed to find a two hour slot and made my appointment ahead of time and was looking forward to it, excited about finding a place near my home that was rated so highly.. My feet were in a state and the pedicure was good; however, things went downhill from there when the nail technician tried to do gel nails, either she is just learning how to do gel nails or has no clue how to do them. The polish kept receding as she applied (the polish would only stay in middle of nail and not on tips and end of nail), she then suggested we switch to a different color and try a different bottle of polish, I had wanted to match colors with my feet but at this point I was out of time so asked her to go ahead. The same thing happened with the second bottle, she said it was a new bottle and did not know why this was happening. To top it all, at this point my thumb was bleeding from way too deep cuticle trimming. I have had gel nails every two weeks for years and I have never had this happen before at other places. 2.5 hours later, this mamma was out of time so I asked her to just remove the experimental polishes. She used a file to scrape off the gel polish, leaving my nails looking rough. I was very upset at this point. She did not charge me for the mani or for the callus treatment for the feet, the $$ not charged did not make up for the lost time which is way more valuable to me. My advice to her would be to have another technician try next time or get a second opinion from other folks working at the salon to see what was going on with the gel polish. It's a shame because I really wanted to like this place due to the location being close to my home. read more

First time ever getting a manicure. Was very impressed to be greeted at the door by the owners, a delightful couple named georgene and Keith. Was then introduced to Nicole who was very gentle and thorough. Overall the shop is engaging but not overbearing. And they even gave me a beer!!!! read more

They usually do appointments and will book you for the amount of time based on the treatment. This nail salon gives the BEST gel manicures ever. I always go to Tyla- she is truly the Queen of Gel Manicures. They last perfectly for 2-3 weeks. There is an incredible selection of colors for gels and regular nail polish. Everyone who works here is warm, professional and highly skilled- They offer wine, hot tea- anything they can do to make this a relaxing salon experience. Pedicures are great too! Nena does a wonderful job with my Gel nails and Michelle has done wonders with my brows. The salon has a very comfortable atmosphere. There is no smell like you get in regular salons. I found this nail salon on yelp and decided to check it out so I took the drive from moorpark to Newbury and found such a cute, chic salon. My first visit I believe I got a sugar scrub mani, got my acrylics removed and just got normal polish. The polish chipped within a few days. I loved the atmosphere of the salon, everyone was so nice and welcoming, even the customers. I returned for a pedicure and decided to do a hard gel full set with gel polish on my second visit. I ended up spending $200+ after 20% tips for all my services. I met the owner Georgene that day and she was so sweet, she even gifted me with a choker. I loved everything about my nails so I was incredibly sad when they chipped a week later. I had three nails chip and upon closer examination all of my nails were lifting! The gel color wasn't adhered to the hard gel underneath. Unfortunately I wasn't able to come in that weekend so I came in on Tuesday when I was finally off work. I was hoping Georgene was in that day but she wasn't so I let the receptionist know about my situation and she gave Georgene a call. What I wanted was to take of the hard gel full set and get dip powder instead. What they agreed upon was to give me a discount due to the fact I came in a week and half later as they only guarantee their work for one week, which was the first I heard of it. Gel is supposed to last 2 1/2 to 3 weeks and I've never had it lift the way it did, wish I had pictures. The ladies working that day let me know I would be given 10% off, my manicurist spoke to me about the situation and was able to get me 15% off... It was kind of her to help me out. Regardless, I was a little upset because I had just spent over 200 dollars less than two weeks ago and now I had to spend another 50 dollars to fix the mess. Was hoping to make this my regular nail salon but I don't think I'll be back. read more

I usually drive to LA for all my beauty needs but the drive was killing me. So started looking for a nail salon in the area to go to regularly. I casually walked in to check the place out and Omg! With cleanliness being the first thing I look for, I was surprised at how immaculate and beautiful it was inside. super cute, and modern. Def high end! Georgene at the front desk was very polite and accommodated me that day. Jolie did an amazing job on my nails and thats saying a lot since I'm so particular. Okay, so I now get what a pedicure is all about!!! After attempting the DIY route for far longer than I should have, I recently had some hip surgery and could not reach my toes. I have seen Polish'd for the past used on my travels through that shopping center and always thought it looked like a lovely place, so I popped in today to see if they could help my ailing tootsies. Let me tell you.... Georgina and Tyla treated me likqueen! I could not have asked for sweeter, more gracious, or more concerned for my well being, even if I had traveled to the high courts of France. What a lovely experience today, from the luxurious foot soak and massage to the happy and friendly banter to the beautiful, clean and spacious decor. Ladies, you made a lifetime believer out of me. This was my first visit as I'm new to the area. Called for an appointment which was initially scheduled for 1:45. They called me back and asked if I could come at 2:30, which was fine. I arrived at exactly 2:30. I sat and read until 2:47 at which point I was provided a seat for the pedicure and water to soak my feet in. The water was soooooo hot I couldn't even keep my foot in (and I like the water pretty hot). Waited without being addressed or acknowledged until 3:07. I left, but they didn't seem to notice. Love this place!!! Service was great and the staff are very friendly and professional. Tyla did my gel mani and it looks great! The decor here is really cute and the chairs are clean and comfortable. Another nice perk... it actually smells good in here! I have been to a lot of nail salons and most of them smell like nail chemicals and whatever food the staff brought in for lunch that day. Not here - it actually smells like a spa. Also, the pedi/foot bowls are removable and washable; yes, this means no jets -- which also means no recirculating fungus or other unidentifiable microscopic nasties floating around my feet. This is a HUGE plus for me. You don't need a massage chair here because the staff do what they are supposed to do: they pamper you themselves instead of simply dumping you in one of those violent massage chairs (percussion setting anyone?) I read a lot of good reviews and really liked the idea of many options as far as different types of treatments, however I didn't like the customer service. I'm general I received a very poor customer service. From the beginning to my manicure. I chose the 26$ organic lemongrass manicure , it says in the website that it takes 35 minutes and I had 1 hour for my manicure to be done. I got there right at 10 that I had an appointment, waited 10 minutes without any warm greetings. Already a 1 star for first impression. My manicurist was too dry and she didn't like it when I told her I only have one hour, although 10 minutes of that one hour was already gone with me waiting there without anyone asking anything. My manicure was ok, nothing extraordinary to be charged 26 instead of 18 or 20. Yes I liked the cream she used. But my manicure doesn't look clean. See the picture. In the end she charged me 31$ and when I asked what is the extra 5$ she said for the OPI shine. She never asked me about it or mentioned it to me. In general I didn't have a pleasant experience. Yes I understand I was kind of in rush but I would assume an hour for a manicure should be sufficient time to good a decent manicure. Mostly what bothered me was the cold way I was treated. I wasn't even offered water. And my manicure doesn't look too good either. read more

The atmosphere and the staff were great. I even knew the prices would be higher, and was ok with that. What caused the low rating is primarily the fact that the staff struggled to figure out how to remove my friend's dip gel manicure (sns). It took them the amount of time to remove it, as it did for me to get a gel manicure. To make things worse, they charged $20, which was on top of the price for the regular manicure she got once that ordeal was over! Now let's add the icing on the cake- I asked them about the wine glasses and champagne flukes, and they told me that they offer a complimentary alcoholic beverage. Then proceeded not to offer us one, even though their inadequacy caused us to be there over two hours!! Would I go there again... not likely, unless it's for a special occasion. read more

I was in here on Saturday for my sister in laws wedding prep. I was horrified at the service we got, because the reviews on here were pretty good. They ignored the bride for close to an hour and did nothing to make her feel special. We had appointments and they were servicing others as they walked in and not my sister in law, the bride! I can't take it out on the nail technicians as they were nice. It was management that was horribly rude. But what I can say about the nail techs is that after 4 days my gels are lifting and the esthetician was the one who did my pedicure. 106 dollars for my gels, pedi and my 4 year old daughters mani/pedi. What a racket! I was visiting from out of town, as I do often but I will never be going here again, nor would I recommend this place to any family or friends in the Thousand Oaks/Newbury park area. read more

DO NOT GET WAXED HERE!!!!!if I could leave zero stars I would. I went in for a Brazilian bikini wax and the experience was mortifying. I have gotten several Brazilian bikini waxes in the past, this place was closer to my house than the place I normally go, so I thought I would give it a try. Shari, the aestitcian was very nice, however, the wax was horrible. Fist of all, the wax was not even warm, meaning that it stuck to my skin and multiple attempts had to be made to,get it off. After several attempts and numerous apologies from Shari to get it off I finally gave up and said I would get it off at home. I guess Shari took that as I didn't want her to finish the rest of the wax because she stopped waxing me and told me she would meet me up front and that she would give me a discount Bc of my experience. I paid and left. When I got home I saw the damage that was done. Globs of wax were stuck to my very sensitive areas, my bikini line wasn't completly waxed, and my skin was bruised. Also, my very nice underwear (Victoria secret) was covered in wax and ruined. Shari didn't even have the courtesy to tell me how to get the wax off ( my husband was able to find some advice on Google, olive oil worked very well). I called Shari back and expressed my displeasure, she apologized multiple times and refunded me, I also got a call from the owner, which was nice, but doesn't make up for the fact that I spent 20 minutes scrapping wax off my lady bits. Save your time and money, go elsewhere. read more

Beautiful salon when you walk in but the technicians and manager give off an entitled vibe. I was quickly sat in a gorgeous, but uncomfortable chair (no massage style) and was given a bucket of water, no circulation or heat for a pedicure. The technician made me feel extremely uncomfortable, as if I wasn't welcome and did not deserve to be having my service. She made small talk but seemed judgmental, other customers were offered drinks, I was not. I love the idea and decor of the salon but not the atmosphere. read more
