We arrived, no crowd, we were surprised as this is January and Modern Market is a calorie counter's heaven. I opted for the soup and sandwich combo, and my wife was left with just a cup of soup as a hater of arugula. She initially wanted the curry pea soup, but they no longer offer that soup even though it is on the menu. The chicken green chili soup, outstanding. Although it was very spicy, it was perfect and screamed with authenticity. The basil chicken sandwich was mostly arugula and hello chicken, where are you. The hard as a rock bun, not my favorite. Modern Market clearly has a loyal following and is a great concept of using local suppliers with very fresh ingredients. I would go to the Bee Caves location. After raving about my experience at Bee Caves to my wife we tried this on and it was so disappointing. Staff was not out front and had to wait for people to come out of the back and when they did there was no greeting or anything. Just stared at us until we ordered. Exact same meal I had before was not anywhere close to put together as well, and somehow the 24 hour braised beef was dry. A disappointing step down from the other locations experience. read more

A little touchup & a little paint, but the interior seems pretty much unchanged from the previous Elevation Burger. 2. I was fooled by the Chipotle-like setup: You pay at the left side and pick-up on the right. But that entire length of kitchen expanse between them appears to serve no purpose, other than to get you from one side to the other. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to hang around & watch them make my stuff or not. Apparently not. 3. They sure like to emphasize how health-conscious & nutritionally-savvy they are. Yeah, I get it. What struck me as great: 1. The best scrambled eggs I've ever had in a restaurant. 2. $1.50 for straight black Cuvée that wasn't tepid or watered-down? I wept. No, really. 3. The very sharp young lady expediting on the far right, who brought me a coffee cup stacked on the far left, when she saw me wandering around looking for something to put coffee into. Some of the highlights of the menu items I have tasted are M'Rita Pizza, Thai Coconut salad, 2 Vital Farm eggs sunny side up, nitrate & H&A-free sausage, Tenderbelly bacon, roasted breakfast potatoes and waffles. M'Rita pizza has mozzarella, basil, organic red sauce on whole grain dough. It can be ordered in full, half and gluten free. The Thai Coconut salad has mixed greens greens, Red Bird chicken, delicious sweet potatoes, cucumber, grated coconut and peanut mango dressing. My favorite Revolver beer on draft (total of 4 drafts), local Kosmic kombucha on draft, local Zhi tea flavors, AND local iced coffee on draft!!!! The food options are light, healthy and very reasonably priced. Nutrition facts are posted for everything so you know exactly what you are getting. It is even printed out on your receipt! How's that for informatively guilt-tripping? Honestly, I don't eat tofu very often but I tried their sesame tofu and a couple sides. The tofu needed some help because it was bland so we tossed it up with some sriracha and it was good to go. While I may be an herbivore, fun fact: I rarely eat salads for dinner. That's a common misunderstanding when people ask, what do you eat? Yea, I don't just want to eat a salad often. I will still be hangry, and so will you. I have tried their prosciutto and BBQ brick oven pizza which are deliciously thin crusted! Note: the prosciutto pizza has a 3 cheese blend which includes blue cheese - for those who don't like blue cheese. Their pizzas have the perfect ratio of toppings to dough! The dough was worth the dough ha. Their salads are yummy as well! As a chain that originated in Colorado, Modern Market is now bringing its selections of delicious salads and sandwiches to the state of Texas. If you like Panera but is sick of overpaying to tiny portions, you'll love Modern Market. We've been to their Colorado and Dallas locations several times before and we can confidently say that the Austin location is right on point with both the service and the flavor. You can choose from 3 main categories: sandwiches, pizzas, or salads. Create a "full" meal by combining 2 "halves" of any category and all ingredients are fully interchangeable. All fountain drinks are made with cane sugar and their organic teas are interesting as well. Some of our favorites here are the Flatiron Salad, the Farmer Salad, the Chipotle Steak, and the Tender Belly BLT-A. The chicken and the steak are always seasoned and cooked perfectly. The BLT-A is not a healthy option but it's absolutely delicious. Honestly, we haven't had a bad experience with any dishes yet. Everything taste fresh because the ingredients are fresh. Of course, not everything here is "healthy" per se but you can find all the nutritional info right on your receipt. How convenient! Overall, Also, given that they just opened recently, I expect there would be occasional service/quality kinks that would need to be ironed out. Thanks to a local pfoodies person I was able to go try Modern Market in the Arboretum (where Elevation Burger used to be) for free with a coworker today for lunch before their grand opening next Tue. I had sesame tofu with mashed rosemary sweet potatoes and a blue cheese arugula salad and my coworker went with the Bianco pizza. We both got a free pint of Kosmic Kombucha with the meal as well! My food was awesome! The tofu had a perfect texture and came with a lemon vinaigrette dip. Sweet potatoes were delicious and not overly sweet like other places usually do. Arugula salad was nice and fresh and had a great flavor. I tried a bit of my coworkers pizza and while it tasted delicious the toppings were a bit messy and sliding around. Maybe a bit too much of the yummy garlic sauce. He also said the crust in the middle was a bit soggy so maybe they need to make them a little thicker in the future but still overall great! One thing I really liked is that they print out the nutritional info on the receipt so for those of us that like to plug that into apps later you have it all right there! Modern market is a delicious fresh food location in the arboretum. Each salad runs about $10. All breakfast egg items are made with cage free eggs. Cafe style where you order at the counter and you pick up at another counter- but they have a buzzer telling you when it's ready to pick up. Each receipt comes with a full breakdown of the nutrition information (see picture) Instead of regular coke they have sugar cane coke. Good for dogs and puppies for the outside patio. All in all it's a little pricey but you are paying for quality organic and cage free food. We ordered the superfood salad and added tofu, and the half roman salad with a cup of tomatoes basil soup. See pictures! Cons: they didn't toss the dressing, there was almost no kale in the super food salads, and they charged extra for subbing tomatoes for bacon bits without telling me. I have seen the serving size of the dish decrease over time and today I got a very small serving of mashed potatoes - my dining friend got a different dish with potatoes as well and her portion was appreciably larger. I spoke to the server who checked and they said "this is what you get." I talked with the manager and he was indifferent. Poorly trained management; unskillful. Potatoes are cheap compared to an unsatisfied customer and bad reviews. My out of town friend came to visit and she has a very restricted diet, which is why we stopped at Honest Mary's around the corner to eat lunch at. Modern Market and Honest Mary's seem very similar in concept. One is locally owned, and the other from Colorado. They both source ingredients from local purveyors, tout clean chemical free foods, hand crafted foods in house daily, seasonal menus, extremely friendly staff, and casual dining experiences. Both even have local wine, beer, and Kombucha. So what are the differences? Market has a wide variety of foods to select from, not just bowls (breakfast, gluten free breads & pizza dough!). They also have sodas made from real cane sugar vs. Agua Fresca's. Also most importantly, COFFEE! I had come here because Honest Mary's had NO coffee. I needed my afternoon caffeine fix. Plus, while I LOVE Honest Mary's, their almond cookies are dry, and bland. I needed a gluten free sweet something, and the gluten free bite size chocolate chip cookies made fresh at Modern Market are chewy and delicious! It melted in my mouth, and are guilt free sized. Plus, the local Chameleon Cold Brew Nitro Coffee is off the hook and paired perfectly with it. They also serve hot Cuvee coffee here. We need more places like both Modern Market and Honest Mary's. Overall the food was healthy and tasty. After you order the food at the cashier, you are given a plastic disc, and asked to sit down and wait for the disc to buzz and vibrate. From the menu to the artwork on the wall, you can tell that food quality is a big deal to these folks. The soup comes with their delicious whole grain bread, and it is somewhat spicy so beware if you are sensitive to spicy foods. The wintergreen salad comes with potatoes, cranberries, spinach, and walnuts and it is delicious! It's filling and tasty despite being a salad. Their sandwiches are also all soo good. I recommend the blueberry chicken sandwich or the pesto chicken, but really you cannot go wrong. I did an Cartering order today and they are ripped off the delivery driver. My company is about 20 mins drive and it's was tons of foods (3 big boxes and 2 bags). We did put a large tips as always but the driver showed me they didn't get and tips, not even $1. read more

I just had a pizza and salad delivered . The pizza was cold although the delivery took a very short amount of time. The salad was a missing half the ingredients basically the reasons I ordered that salad. This was the first time I've had any food from this restaurant it will definitely be the last and I hope that somehow I am reimbursed for this pretty much terrible meal. read more
