Found this place on yelp looking for healthy places to eat. They have a great selection of salads, sandwiches, wraps, pizza's and grain bowls. They have half salad options as well as half sandwich options. We had the Winter Greens and Thai Coconut salads, and the Blueberry Pesto sandwich. You can mix and match 1/2 salad and 1/2 sandwich or pizza. Both salads were fresh and even the half size was filling. I really enjoyed the Blueberry Pesto sandwich (it has tomatoes, mozzarella, and i think arugula). The gluten free bread was falling apart a bit but still good. I can definitely see us coming here when we want to eat out but don't want to get fast food. read more

AMAZING FOOD!!!! The BLT sandwich, the BBQ Chicken pizza are delicious! The chicken basil is amazing! The food is just REALLY GOOD! The soup (and I am not a soup person) is so tasty. I live near this location in Cityline, my wife and I order online and pick up with the COVID-19 stuff.... They are always professional, clean and great to work with. read more

Came here on a Sunday night. I used to like it here. Always nice to find a place with healthy options. Staff is not paying attention. The girl taking orders was wearing AirPods when I placed my order. Another member of the staff was also wearing ear pods. While very slowly cleaning. The place was filthy. Smelled of old garbage, the floors were dirty. Would not recommend. The food was fine, below par compared to what I've had here before. read more

We decided to order from here for delivery based on my husband's experience with a salad he likes from this restaurant. I can only speak to my experience with what I ordered and needless to say, it was extremely disappointing. After perusing the menu, the chicken green chili seemed to be just the thing. Oof, was I wrong! The description was nothing like what was prepared and consequently, delivered. Please see the pictures: the one one the left is what is featured on their website, the one on the right is what I attempted to eat. There was no chicken to be found, it was overwhelmingly spicy to the point that that was all I could taste, and the color was as appealing as what one might find in a diaper. In addition, this was identified as a "signature dish" on some descriptions I saw. Word of advice, Modern Market Eatery: you may want to reconsider what your signature conveys. I have been curious about the food here, and now my curiosity has been satisfied. I see no reason to try anything else from your establishment. read more

First time at Modern Market and it was really good. Fresh healthy foods, lots of greens, and good flavors. I got the salmon with salad, roasted carrots and rice. First time at Modern Market, I was excited to have some fresh food. I got the buddah bowl, it was good so 2 stars for my order. My brother got the Chipotle Steak sandwich, it was supposed to come with a side of kettle chips but we realized they were missing after we got home. There was hardly any chipotle sauce on it either. My other brother got the hand-carved chicken over a "BED of rice", as the menu says. I wish I could say I was kidding when I say he got what looked like a spit of rice. It wasn't even half a spoon of rice. I could have literally counted the amount of rice grains in his entire bowl. Needless to say this was a let down. read more

I can't believe I've never tried this place before! Located close to UTD, they offer a variety of healthy foods such as pizzas, salads, sandwiches, etc. Also, if you're a student you get a discount! As far as the food goes, I got the Chipotle Steak Sandwich, M'rita pizza, and my friend got the Truffled Potato Pizza, Basil Chicken Sandwich. The food was overall fresh, tasty, and definitely a great healthy option. This was a great spot for a quick lunch or dinner, but I personally didn't find it very filling. However, for the price that you pay, the good service, and modern ambiance, I'll definitely be coming back. So if you're in the area and are looking for a quick bite to eat then this is a good option! read more

Walked in at 10:35 when they open, was ignored by a guy at the register talking on his phone until someone walked up from the back and said "can you order online?" I had no problem but then something was down with the system and couldn't do anything. Instead of being any type of friendly they shrugged and said "oh well." Horrible customer service, put a sign on the door if you can't get your system up and actually communicate with a customer if something is wrong. Won't be going back to this location. read more

Mod Market is my go to for clean, healthy eating. It's good food that's fast and tasty. I usual go for the Bahn Mi with a side of greens. $10. They also have Cuvee (coffee roaster out of Austin) and Kombucha. read more

Visiting in town, this was our first chance to try this restaurant. Really a fantastic menu with lots of great selections of seafood and poultry. Looks like lots of healthy choices. I ordered the salmon curry bowl. The salmon was pretty good but I thought the real highlight was the veggies. Really outstanding! According to the menu, the salmon Bowl only has 440 calories. That is really fantastic. So it makes for a nice light lunch. My wife border the Smoky chicken bowl. It was very tasty but be careful it's a little on the spicy side. It is listed at 660 calories. Both dishes are served with heirloom rice and split peas. The only complaint is that it was so cold inside! read more

Well the food looks okay I guess. I was disappointed in the menu there were not much healthy vegan options. If there were I didn't get any info on anything because I stood at the counter for about ten minutes without any assistance or acknowledgment. You would think a business would want a chance to earn a new customer or help the customer in general but NOPE! There's too many other better places in the DFW area for a place to have poor customer service especially within this type of food. So when business get shit down again please don't start crying about needing business because you're better off serving yourself with this type of service. I will definitely not be back or visit any other locations read more

I came in around 3 in the afternoon, some people but not packed. Ambiance is really nice, homey and a chill vibe. I ordered the half merida salad without tortilla strips and it was a pretty large size for half a salad but it was really good, everything tasted fresh and the chicken was cooked really nicely. Highly recommend to try, plus the meats are mostly humanely raised which is great!! read more

I am mostly upset with their customer service. We have ordered from here before and the food was great. We did a doordash tonight and my wife's salmon was so hard it was inedible. I tried to call the store and they just forwarded me to doordash. This isn't a doordash issue. There was no way to talk to the actual restaurant. Apparently that is impossible. read more

If I could give less stars I would!!!! Our food took forever to come, but when it did my son's pepperoni pizza came without pepperoni. So I took it back up and I watched the guy put cold pepperoni on the hot pizza and then realize that it wasn't going to work- so he offered to make a new one and bring it to the table. I thanked him. (Note: he left the initial mess up pizza on the work station behind him) He put the new pizza in the oven and walked off and started doing a million other things and the food never came for my 4 year old. I walked up and inquired where the pizza was after all the time had passed. He said he was going to get it and bring to our table. He comes to the table with the pizza and it's cold with uncooked pepperoni. I took it up to the counter and I said "this is cold- did you give me the old pizza?" (Note: the mess up pizza had now magically disappeared off the line and it was just there this whole time) The guy looks at me and he said "no we got rid of that a long time ago - this is the new pizza!" I told them it was not the new pizza. This was the old one. He argued with me and thought I was turning around to walk off so he quickly tries to take the burnt to a crisp pizza out of the oven. I see this black charcoal pizza he is trying to sneak out and say "you lied to me. That is the new pizza that you obviously forgot about and you gave me the old one" The guy still tries to LIE about it. I say "don't insult me by lying to me!! This is food for my son!" So he asks if I want a new pizza and I said "NO!!" This horrible, lying, sorry excuse for a human was bald, maybe in his 40s, with glasses. I wish I had gotten his name. I am literally baffled by his lack of integrity and customer service skills. Will never be back. Sickening person. read more

Eating healthy shouldn't be expensive and Modern Market proves that. This is a fast-casual restaurant and has a very clean atmosphere. The decor was upscale and modern and I loved the little succulents placed around the restaurant. If you're health-conscious you should try this place out. They have many healthy but filling options like power bowls, sandwiches, and soups. UTD students get $3 off their meal so be sure to bring your comet card! read more

I have nothing negative to say about Modern Market. I've been here twice already and the Tomato Basil soup was so good! Here is all I have gotten so far: - Tomato Basil Soup - Iron Skillet Salad (steak salad) - Grilled Salmon Salad - all the cookies were great The only complaint I would have is that when I got the salmon salad, the leaves did not look too fresh. The salmon was fresh though. I will still get it one more time and write an update. read more

This is a great place to go for a business lunch. Fast service, great selection and reasonable prices. I had the curry grain bowl with salmon, which was outstanding. The sweet,creamy coconut milk curry over the perfectly cooked salmon is a real treat. My friend had the pulled pork banh mi and enjoyed every bite as well. Will definitely be back! read more

A little pricey but great quality food. I had the beef homestyle plate with macaroni and cheese and arugula salad. The steak was dry and lacking flavor. The macaroni and cheese was perfectly cheesy and the arugula salad was very good and flavorful. The 3 stars is for the service style of the restaurant - I felt that it was too pricey to have to bus my own table. The electronic tip "jar" at the counter was a little tacky in my opinion as nothing done was deserving of a tip. read more

Extremely disappointed, I tried out this place very optimistic , I wanted to like this place because I am looking for more healthy farm fresh restaurants that support my pescatarian diet. I went to order a half a blackened chicken salad but substitute with salmon. They said it was going to be a up charge for 2$ instead it was a 5$ up charge. In the end my total for half a salad was 20$. With a salad that expensive it should be 5 start restaurant quality right? Nope. This salad came out with lettuce , beans , a hard not even ripe half avocado and a very sad piece of salmon. The salmon I paid 5$ for was so hard , and dry it tasted like jerky. I politely asked for another slice and watched as the worker grabbed another one right out if a heat holding bin. The salmon is not even cooked fresh. It is sitting there all day drying out. My second piece was not any better , and it tasted very foul and fishy. I lost my appetite and left. I told the staff and not a single person apologized or offered a solution. As someone who works in restaurant service, it's not that hard to smile and apologize and offer a solution. Very disappointed with this place. We love the healthy options at Modern Market, as well as the taste of said healthy options. The GF version of the BBQ chicken pizza is my absolute favorite. Their salads are great too. Tons of items are GF, vegetarian, vegan, etc. The atmosphere is also super cute. But every MM location we've visited (this location included) is messy. No matter the time of day we visit, it's usually tough to find a clean table, even when they aren't busy. The salt, pepper, chili flakes, etc. are usually sticky. The floor has not been swept. It's disappointing because their food and ambiance really are enjoyable! Also, it's unclear whether you're supposed to bus your own table, so we always do. And on top of all this, they are one of these order-at-the-counter places that asks for a tip up front. I'm not sure what the employees are doing to warrant a tip if the place is dirty, you have to pick up your food when it's ready, then bus your own table? The employees are usually not friendly or super helpful anyway. Bottom line: I wish MM's service and cleanliness matched their selection, food quality and ambiance! Their current situation creates a disjointed experience for customers. read more

Good, fresh healthy food with an ever changing menu in a nicely lit casual setting. I've eaten here a couple time and some menu items have been great and some items have come up short. Spinach Bacon and egg scramble was delicious and perfectly portioned. The Chili and eggs not so much. Didn't care for the chili and is smothered the eggs and potatoes. Tasted like it had way too much chili powder in it especially for being green chili. Salads are a great size and always good. Pizzas are great, especially the Hot honey one but it's no longer on the menu. Not cool. Sandwiches are always a good choice. read more

I really wanted to like this place but overall very disappointed. For the most part the food is somewhat warm, portions are small and not a lot of options. I understand why it's never really that busy. Tables are dirty, the staff is not friendly or inviting. Came in one evening after work to pick up dinner. The customer service was lacking. The guy behind the counter was more interested in talking with his friends. When I went to order he stepped away. Took several minutes for someone to finally come over and take my order with no greeting. Apparently talking with friends is more important that taking care of their customers. Finally received my order and when I got home realised I was given the wrong order. Went back and they had just closed. Went back the next day to let them know and see if they can mend the issues and they said no refunds. I explained to the manager what happened, said I should've checked the order before I walked out and she was not having any of it. From the lack of customer service, dirty table tops and dismissing customer complaints and having a smart mouth response and getting attitude customers, I understand why it's never really that busy. read more

I was so hungry yesterday that I ordered my lunch early! I ordered online thru Doordash and decided to try the Smoky Chicken Bowl at the referral of my little bro. The delivery fee was only $0.99 when you have an order over $15 which made it an easy decision and frankly it was the highlight of my day yesterday! That was the first time I tried this dish and when I tell you this food was good.... Lawd!!! I ate it so fast that you would've thought I hadn't ate in years! It had roasted chicken, warm heirloom rice, chili sweet potatoes, citrus cabbage slaw, roasted tomato, cotija cheese, avocado-tomatillo salsa, and smoked crema. For my vegetarians I'm sure you can sub the chicken for something else because it was delicious without the chicken. It was filling, flavorful, and satisfying and I will definitely be back for this bowl AGAIN! read more

I've been to Modern Market a few times, and while for me it's at a more almost treat-yourself price point (on a student budget, even with $3 student ID discount), I love coming here. The food is always good, and the space is great for a quick bite, or staying longer to catch up with someone. I've tried different things on their menu, and all of it so far has been great. It seems like they have a bit more emphasis on healthier or at least "healthier" foods - it's nice that they add the nutritional facts to your receipt so you know what you're getting. I think my favorite so far has been the flat iron salad, which is a bit pricier, but sooo good. The people here are also always super helpful and cheerful! read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!! Anyway...lol. This place has amazing food! Everything is super fresh, and very affordable (students also get a whopping $3 off, and if you ever forget your ID, they will just give you the 10% off that you can get from the receipts). I've tried most of the pizzas, and all of them are amazing. I LOVE the sausage pesto pizza. Unfortunately, they are not currently serving it, but the employees told me it would be back eventually. The bacon corn pizza is also great. I never feel super greasy or bloated after eating their pizzas, which is a nice plus. The salads and sandwiches are also very good. I've had a couple bites of some here and there from my friends. The standout item of this company, however, is their employees. Everyone I have come into contact with has been extremely caring, helpful, and excited. I met Tyler the other day while I was here, and he was sooo sweet. He's super nice. Not like the overly creepy nice. Just the right amount. He was tight. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a location near them! read more

Wow, this is gonna be a new go to for homestyle plates and healthy-ish food, despite the higher price tag. The chimichurri chicken is succulent, and reminds me of something I might enjoy in the comfort of a friends home. The sweet potato mash with rosemary left me craving more, every bite melted away in my mouth with notes of savory richness. Usually love is place but first time order the kale pizza, was so much kale I could not taste anything else. I had to toss it which was unfortunate because I love goat cheese and mushroom and that's the part I was looking forward to. annoyed I had to order a subsequent dinner and wait for a delivery to the hotel I was staying at. Couldn't really find the goat cheese and couldn't tolerate the abundance of scratchy kale. It would only let me remove one item on the pizza on the uber app and it was either kale or red Onion so I chose red Onion to leave off hoping that it wouldn't be bread with a mountain of kale on it. I took a chance and unfortunately it did not work in my favor. I thought there would at least be a balance. read more

Our server had a scowl on her face from the moment she came to the table. (Long dark ponytail) It was 12:30pm & it was not busy (breakfast rush was over.) We had to get up three times to ask for things, our toast & pancakes, napkins, coffee. The three servers working were standing at the front counter talking away with each other our server, at one point, was talking on her cell phone. The food quality has gone down in recent months. Eggs were nice & hot, hash browns were cold, bacon had been good in the past, but our past two visits the bacon has tasted burnt & it has an odd flavor. Toast was over cooked, not buttered, it was not edible. The last time our coffee was refilled was by a man that looked like he had just come out of the kitchen. He was very nice & we were grateful that our coffee was being refilled without having to get up and ask for it. The servers were still lolly gagging behind the counter while the gentleman was refilling our coffee. I have worked in the restaurant business from being a server & also in management. I am very understanding of all angles of what is going on in a restaurant setting. The service on Saturday was the worst service I have ever experienced. Rude & unapologetic, it was as if we were inconveniencing her. We will not be returning.

Prior to sending it back, I cut a flat of the chicken wings in half for my daughter. When we got the "new" wings, the cut up flat was still on the plate. I was so shocked. Never seen that in a restaurant. At this point, we were all pretty much done with our meals and a storm was brewing so we just wanted to get out of there. I will not come back.
