Roast quarter chicken with side of gravy squash, and roasted potatoes
    Alan C.

I had some food delivered from Modern Rotisserie the quarter chicken with squash and roast potatoes. I also got a side of potato salad and the butternut squash soup. The chicken was well seasoned and moist. Very tasty. The roast potatoes were good as was the squash. The butternut squash soup was amazing delicious. The food comes very well packaged it was a tasty satisfying meal.

Solid spot similar to Boston Chicken. Attached to The New England Soup Factory. Chicken was good and juicy. The side dishes were either solid or better. Service was fast and friendly. Will definitely return.

Another Phantom Gourmet spot I had to try! Modern Rotisserie is a very lively spot because of the bold color schemes. You can grab your food to-go or eat here which I've never tried before. It looks a wee bit tight in the room next door, New England Soup Factory, which they own too. Prime Rib Sandwich- They only served this on Saturday, so of course I grabbed this bad boy and oh my, it was a mountain of meat! This was served with their own au jus dipping sauce. Such an excellent succulent and juicy sandwich. Apple Brined Roasted Chicken- Very tender. Surprisingly it was lacking a little flavor (it may have been too dry) so we ended up dipping it in the au jus. Cheez-It Mac & Cheese- A nice spin on the classic mac & cheese. It's creamy with familiar crunchy topping. Very good. Roasted Brussel Sprouts & Kale- Eck. Too lemony and watery. It definitely did not tasted like it was roasted. Carrots- Same thing! Stop sautéing your vegetables with that lemon sauce. Lemon Pudding- This lush dessert tasted like a sweet lemon meringue pie. Delish. The only thing that should taste lemony! Overall Service: Super friendly folks. I told them I'm going to be traveling with the food for 45 mins so they sealed it up nicely and not a single spill. Thank you guys!

Mango habanero chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, mac & cheese.

Tried this place after seeing their video on Phantom Gourmet and was pleasantly surprised. Got the half chicken meal with two sides, so I chose the mango habanero chicken, mashed potatoes, and mac & cheese. Real homestyle, comfort atmosphere that matches the food being served. Chicken was juicy and tender, mashed potatoes and gravy was very tasty, and the mac & cheese was creamy, fresh and delicious. Only gripes would have to be the price ($16 for this + a can of soda), and my chicken was flooded with the mango habanero sauce, which made it difficult to manage in the tray provided. A little less sauce would have made the meat stand out more as well. Overall a good experience.

Wow cherry chicken / sounds odd but really works

I had the very good fortune to meet Chef and talk with her. Chef's style is to find and make the eclectic- foods you may not consider that work together. We enjoyed a great conversation about food styles, supplies (of food) and so on. They make everything fresh - nothing processed here as near as I can tell. I devoured the black cherry chicken and wanted more! This was one of the most awesome places I have ever eaten and when my travels bring me here again - this is where I'm going!

Had a BBQ beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and the sauteed kale brussel sprout mix. Dish served nice and hot. The mashed potatoes and gravy were an excellent flavor. The kale and Brussels had just the right combo of garlic and lemon. The sandwich, however was not so good. I would stick with the chicken next time. I've had the Mac and cheese here which is a favorite of mine but they didn't have any so I chose the other sides! Quite disappointed since i asked for it and he didn't mention that shortly after making my plate they would bring out a fresh pan. I would have waited, so one tip is to ask if there will be more if you don't see what you want available. Upside, Staff very friendly and fast

After seeing this place on phantom gormet this morning we had to go! We were dying for the French dip sandwiches they had advertised as their Saturday special. We were very disappointed to arrive after a 30 minute drive to find out they had run out of said special well before lunch hour. We were informed by the very patient and kind staff member that we should arrive when they opened to enjoy the sandwich. I wish this was advertised. We ordered some of the famous chicken and it was very good. I'd love to go back and try that sandwich but we may choose a closer lunch spot in the future.

Thigh and leg with kale and brussels sprouts and country potato salad.

We were 6 people, bill was around 380..with the tax, tip & recommended 4% for the kitchen staff, another 80 in fees, which kills me after traveling through Europe fairly often. So 440 total. Way to much for one drink each for 5 of us, no drink for the 6th, no bottle of wine, split 1 app 7 olives, no coffee, 2 desserts. Way too pricey. When did 34-38 dollar entrees become the norm ? I would never return for one reason..that 4% tip for the kitchen. Pay your back of the house staff from those $$$$ entrees. Perhaps another idea is to take a % off each $15+ cocktail and pay their kitchen staff with it. I have not seen this done in years..absolutely no where. During the height of Covid, yes. But it faded away rather quickly and left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Also, I'd recommend lighter plates, those poor ladies hauling in those large & heavy dishes is not a good look.

We Iived in the neighborhood years ago, and would walk to Dunn's especially when we thought I could remodel the kitchen and were without it for six months. The place and service is a 5. The cheesy potato wedges as an app was awesome. The seafood cakes are excellent and a good value. The meatloaf is a little bland and the accompanying broccoli was tough and I didn't finish it. Post-COVID, life looks a little different. I've changed jobs and moved to another town, so it's no longer the easy drop-in it once was. Still, I make a point to come back at least every few months. What hasn't changed is the consistency. This remains one of the most reliably excellent restaurants in the Boston area, and still one of my all-time top five--while others that once held that spot haven't quite held up. One thing has changed, though: the Ghost of Mary. Scotty, the former bar manager, created what's still my favorite cocktail of all time. When he left, the drink left with him (by mutual agreement), and while he generously shared the recipe with me, I've never quite managed to recreate it at home. It was clearly meant to be made by the expert. That said, Sycamore hasn't missed a beat. The space is still as comfortable and quirky as ever, the food remains consistently excellent, and the current bar program is in very capable hands. The cocktails are thoughtful and well-executed--just maybe don't remind me about the one I'm missing

They have some great places to shop and dine and Sycamore is one of them. We have been here multiple times and everytime is better than the last. From the Managers greeting to the service, and atomosphere, Sycamore sure knows how to make customers feel seen and heard and their bellies happy :) We came here after attending a wine tasting not far from here and were able to grab some bar seats. They have a great cocktail and wine list; I always have a hard time choosing just one. I went with a vodka drink called Nothing Rhymes Orange and my husband had a beer. Since we were not that hungry he ordered the Chorizo Croquettas and I had my favorite salad in the world (not kidding) their Kale Salad. Let me just tell you 1. if you don't like kale, you will love this salad. Just the way they make it and the flavors/crunch will make your mouth water 2. you will eat the whole thing. 3. trust me. If there is one app that you need to order its the chorizo croquettas, OMG. They are like little small drops of heaven and there are only 3 so if you plan to share I would recommend ordering more than just one. For dessert, we ordered an Espresso Martini. The only thing that was missing is the coffee beans but still good. Thanks Sycamore for another fabulous dinner and evening. Thanks Kale Salad for being the best ever. I know I will be back for another one sometime soon. Cheers~
