    2 Pcs Catfish Dinner

Delicious meal! Authentic soul food flavor. My first trip to Bud Dairy Hall and Modern Southern Table was well worth the trip. Even my 90+ year old mom loved it all and rated it A++. The only downside is limited parking and the building itself is not very accessible so it took some doing to find a side entrance that my mom could handle. There are steep stairs at front entrance and a lift but you have to call to get someone to operate the lift. Anyway the folks at MST are pros. The order was ready in about 20 minutes. Everything cooked fresh, hot and delicious. You will love it!

I ordered via DoorDash. The food didn't take long at all. Chicken was perfectly fried, just needed a tad more seasoning. Mac and cheese tasted like home but I think needed a little salt. The greens were perfectly seasoned, but a little salty so it tasted perfect with the Mac. Yams were pretty good and not overly sweet. The blackened fish was perfection. I do wish it came with some type of sauce though. Corn bread tasted like quality. I usually like a sweeter cornbread, but this was good not dry and perfectly baked. Overall, pretty good and I will surely order again.

A nice treat on a coll summer day Gumbo was perfectly seasoned and a heart portion. Made with a combination of chicken and sausage okra served over white or yellow rice.the orange rough dinner comes with 2 sides of your choice. We opted for greens and okra. The greens have a pinch of sugar in them. I don't mind but my husband hates sweet greens he likes them spicy. The fried okra is just ok. They are not anything special could use a little more seasoning and less breading. As for the bar they are efficient friendly and have a wide variety. The pomegranate theory came with a buzz ball. I never had one of those before but 8t definitely opens your pallet . It is a special peppercorn flower that reacts differently to various people and can cause a numbing sensation. A definite must try

Best Catfish in Columbus! That's right. Try it! My husband, mother-in-law, and I drove 1 hour and 20 minutes just for the food at Modern Southern Table. The food is incredibly savory. The trip was worth it. We will definitely return because the catfish, the fried chicken, yams, collard greens, and Mac-n-cheese were made to perfection. The restaurant is located in a food hall and the place has a great vibe!

Located within Budd Dairy food hall, this place delivers some absolutely delicious food. This is probably our 5th or 6th time eating at Budd and each time except one we are pulled back to Modern Southern. The food hall is always busy as is Modern Southern but their service has been very good each time. It's a great atmosphere to get a nice drink, eat some wonderful food and have casual meal with friends and/or family. My wife loves the fried chicken, Jojo fries and the Mac and cheese. For me the gumbo is top notch as are the crispy hush puppies. This has become our go too whenever we are in the area.

Whew chile I found my people! Shoutout to social media for the recommendation because when I landed in Ohio, Budd Dairy Food Hall was my first stop so I could stop by Modern Southern Table and get me some fried catfish. They did not disappoint! Everything made to order so after placing we had about a 15 min wait but it was worth it. Each dinner plate came with 2 sides and the choice of white bread or cornbread. Catfish friend to perfection, hush puppies the perfect blend of salty and sweet, and the black eyed pea salad was crisp and refreshing. The sauce that came with the catfish was so good we were dunking the fried chicken and hush puppies in it as well lol. I definitely had to finish off with the red kool aid which was sweeter than sweet a.k.a made the right way. I went to bed with a full belly! If I had time to return I would've. I joked with my bf about taking a to go plate haha. Wishing this business much success. This is what I call AUTHENTIC!

The whole experience give high school cafeteria or mall food court, which isn't a bad thi g but we went on a Saturday about 5v& it was already pretty crowded. We lucked up to catch a table opening. You order then wait on them to text you your food is ready. MST was just OK. I got two piece chicken with greens, macaroni and cheese & cornbread with the red Kool aid punch. The green had turkey & would've been much better but they were too salty. The macaroni & cheese wasn't that hot but very good potential. The chicken had WAY too much breading. Cornbread & Kool aid was good. I'll try the catfish next time. If you go there find a seat first! It's a very cool building with several floors. Amazing concept.

    Red rice and coleslaw

Ordered through food service delivery. Fish was made to order and was very warm upon arrival. Red rice was a little salty for my taste. Coleslaw that contained kale has become my favorite. Definitely reccomend.

Super busy on a Saturday night which speaks volumes for the food! We ordered fried catfish (blackened was sold out) Turkey greens and fried okra. Food was deeeelishious. Was accompanied by cornbread that was perfect consistency and taste ( gotta hate dry cornbread) I'd come again to try out the chicken

Checked this place out for my birthday. The food looked really good in pics and I wanted to support a black business. The customer service was okay and the food was ready pretty quickly. I ordered the fried whiting with greens and Jo Jo fries aka wedges. I also got a Southern grape Koolaid to drink. The fish was just okay, I didn't realize until my second piece that it had bones in it. They leave the skin on, which turned my mom off, but I didn't mind. The seasoning just isn't what I expected, sort of bland in my opinion. The collard greens were the standout, they were packed full of flavor. Probably the best collards I have ever had, sorry Maw Maw! The Jo Jo fries were also, just okay. They give you some sort of sauce and I wasn't sure if it was meant for the fish or the fries but it was a nice compliment to both. The cornbread was terrible, it was a nice-sized piece but it was super dry and flavorless. The grape Koolaid was nice and sweet. I plan on coming back, but I would like to try the wings and the gumbo. Whiting 1-5=2. Collard Greens 1-5=5! Jo Jo fries 1-5=2.5. Cornbread 1-5=0. Grape Koolaid 1-5=4.5. Customer Service 1-5=3.5.

My family and I finally got around to checking this place out today and I must say, I was underwhelmed. Let's talk about the pros: Chicken: was perfect. It was well seasoned, crunchy without being overcooked, and the pieces were all a good size. Timing: Upon ordering the estimated time was 40-50 min, but I got the alert saying it was ready in about 20 min. I'll gladly take half the expected time! Portions: I do think the sides and overall amount of food I received for a $15 was very reasonable and I had leftovers. Now for the cons. All the sides, quite frankly. The collars greens were way too salty. Another review mentioned that so I think that's the norm. The cornbread was overly dry. The rice was undercooked, and while the Mac n cheese wasn't bad, it was salty as well. I don't know if I will be back again, but if I do it'll be for the chicken basket only. I'm not willing to try the sides again.

Very rarely is a place worth all the hype but from the first bite I was sold. The fried catfish is fried to perfection. After a while it can feel like it's salty but tastebuds are different and I'm aware I'm a tad sodium averse. Even so, I loved it. The greens were the star of the show for me with a nice little kick to them as well. The Mac and cheese wasn't my favorite but by no means was it bad. The customer service was great and I can't wait to bring my father. This place is in Budd Dairy Food Hall. It took about twenty minutes for me to get my food so I got a drink during happy hour at the bar that's very close by. Def check this place out! I even had enough for leftovers lol.

The Biscuits for a Cause (2 with butter, jam and honey), Fried Pickles (chips with ranch), and Famous Fried Green Tomatoes (I don't normally like goat cheese, but these are served with stone-ground goat cheese grits) were all fabulous and I had plenty to take home after trying all. I had a glass of red blend wine with my entree, which was the Pan-Seared Salmon. My two chosen sides were the mashed potatoes and fried okra. The salmon was perfectly cooked; it was a great dish. I also got the Rosemary & Parmesan Breakfast Potatoes to go to have with my breakfast this morning. The service, food and atmosphere were all very enjoyable. The manager also helped out bringing food, and checking on me. I would return for another meal.

Turn in at the light, and be careful about which driveway you pick- I think it's the second driveway, near a daycare, and it winds around back to the restaurant. You can see the place from James. Pretty busy at lunchtime, a few dine in and some carryout. Served cafeteria style, so you can see what you want, and drool over it. Well, there's a clear shield, but you know what I mean. I got smothered pork chops, since I hadn't had them forever. Meaty, tender, covered in gravy and onions. So so good, especially as comfort food on a cold day. You can also get them fried. Plenty of other things on the menu looked good. And all of the sides sounded good. I ended up getting one that was a mix of cabbage and greens, instead of getting the two separately, so that gave me space for another side. I went with mac & cheese. Sweetie's mom's mac is the best in the world. I'm not kidding. This is not quite that good, but is a very good homemade version, loaded with cheese, and baked in a big pan. Service was excellent. Prices are a bit steep, but good for the quantity and quality. Canned pop. Cheap plasticware. I was leery, but the pork chops were so tender that even a plastic knife pulled them apart easily. Hardly needed it. The place is not fancy inside. Old, but clean, a few booths and tables. You're there for the food, not the decor. Or, come in and pick it up and take it home. And have better silverware... I will definitely be back. I loved what I got, and was enticed by some of the other things.

I've liked them since I first had them, so whenever I see them on the menu, I usually get them. You can get them as a bowl, but I got the dinner. Two bone-in chops, tender and juicy and breaded with a little seasoning. Covered with a gravy/sauce that adds more flavor. And over top of tender short grain rice. I got baked beans as one of my sides, and they were soupy, but savory, and very tasty. I also got fried okra, which was a large portion of perfectly fried chunks. Also nicely seasoned. They do give you ketchup and vinegar, and hot sauce, and I tried those on the okra. But it was plenty good on its own. I came in hungry and left stuffed. They offered dessert, but I didn't even look at the menu because I knew I had no room. Parking is absolutely awful. Not their fault, of course. There are a couple of spots in the alley, but they are 30 minute only zones.
