I made an appointment I was a few minutes early for my appointment and I was still me to wait 45 minutes. When I asked when the person would be ready to do my nails they told me two minutes. Also any other person I tried to speak to or ask a question ignored me. When the nail tech finally came to do my nails she informed me that she wasn't able to do the design I wanted and seemed annoyed with me. The person who showed up on time wanting to spend my money patronizing that business. I had sent pictures to the manager through Yelp of what type of manicures I may want. One was with flowers on them. When it came time to put the flowers on, the manicurist said my nails were too small to apply them like the picture. She knew the design I was going for but still choose smaller nails and did not tell me anything. She started cutting pieces of flowers and applying to my nails and it was hideous and nothing like the picture. At this time, the spa was not busy and ALL the workers came to see my nails. Some said it will look good after more gel. Most were speaking about me in another language and one slipped up and said in English " it looks terrible ", and she was right. I asked for another design , another pic I sent and it turned out better. When I lefted , I see Santa in some nails and yet I payed $125+ tip. The other 2 women getting manicures were offered the free massage but I was not. I can't help but notice I was the only non white and not Asian customer. I don't know if that's why . But I was extremely uncomfortable by them coming over to laugh at the nails and stand over me. I told them and they just ran off and didn't apologize. First and last time I'm coming. read more

It's so tough finding a decent nail salon these days. Was on the UWS this week and needed to get a gel manicure stat. All the reviews in the area were middling but went w this place solely because of the yelp check in savings for a first timer. My nail technician was Adriana and I would say her work was just barely passable and rushed through. I just don't understand why there are not industry wide standards. I didn't come into the salon w color on my nails so I wonder if that would have been mangled. Knew we were off to an inauspicious start w the color picking process. I was rushed to pick a color but they gave me one GIANT set of three or four combined rings that really should have been separated in at least two. It was unwieldy to hold and look through quickly. Adriana did my nail filing and shaping very quickly. I knew we were going to be off to a bad start...sigh. The nails were never soaked. She didn't use cuticle cream and when pushing back and cutting my cuticles, it was roughly done. She sped through cutting the skin around my nails and could have easily cut me with how fast and deeply she was going. There were places she cut that didn't require cutting on the skin around the nails as well When she was done w the filing, she wiped the dust and leavings on to the floor! Yuck! One of my pet peeves is also when salons don't ask you to wash your hands before they begin the manicure. If a hand massage or a hot towel is coming later, your hands should be washed ESPECIALLY after coming off the streets of NY. Also during the nail prepping, I told her I had two nails that were very slightly broken (maybe 1/16 on inch on the right) at the edge. This is important to note since this will come up later. This was due to previous shoddy work at a different salon btw. I asked if she could put some glue to reinforce both. She told me it would be $3 extra for each nail. Have to say salons don't usually charge for them to put a smidge of nail glue and a little powder. I opted to do only one since I was irked they were THAT kind of salon. Anyway...on to the gel manicure. After the first coat of color, I IMMEDIATELY and politely asked her to PLEASE make sure you get the sides covered on each nail. I got the "don't worry, this is only the first coat" excuse. On the subsequent coat, she did what I feared and didn't quite get the edges. This is important because unfortunately I don't have the strongest of nails, if I don't have polish to reinforce them, they will slightly break on the edges (remember the earlier glue I needed). When she was "done", I had to point out that several of the nails still had no polish on the edges and she gave me attitude. I had a feeling she was bashing me to her friend next to her The completed work, looked passable but some nails still had edges exposed sadly . When she was done she applied vitamin e oil quickly. Did a very hasty once over to spread the stuff (guess that was a hand massage)? She grabbed a hot towel from a hand warmer that was stuffed to the brim. I have to say...the towels didn't look clean and the one she used on me was VERY suspect. It didn't appear fresh or clean. Keep in mind...I was never told to wash my hands earlier so if these towels were reused, that's just even more gross. Was told a regular gel manicure would be $30. With the first time visit of 10% off which was negated by that $3 charge for nail glue, I wound up spending $36 w tip. Felt like it was too costly for a very mediocre experience. Wouldn't recommend this salon. read more

I really wanted to avoid writing this review, but thought long and hard as I know nail technicians in NYC work so hard and often under harsh conditions. But, if I had known what the final product would have been, then I would have passed, removed my nail polish myself and went with bare nails until I could go to my usual spot. I've been getting manicures for 15 years, and this by far was the worst overall experience and polish job. I normally frequent two other nail salons within a block but they had hour waits; so, I decided to take a chance and try some place new. Big mistake. The cleaning of the nails and removal of my old polish was physically rough. No care or consideration for how it might have felt on the receiving end. Additionally, there was very little pride taken into the establishment--the warm towels were rolled in a ball and shoved in the warming machine, didn't look very hygienic or pampering and above all else, the quality of the manicure and the shape of my nails ended up looking horrendous. I have NEVER said anything to a technician prior to this experience but had to point out to her that the manicure didn't look pretty or well shaped. After a few minutes of literal banter and showing she acknowledged that it wasn't right and continued to file down further down to my skin. Overall disappointing; fortunately nails grow back but I certainly won't be returning there ever again. read more

This is the third time that I came here. This Nail Spa close at 10pm. I came at 8pm. It should be plenty of time. Rachel was on the phone most of the pedicure process.No quick massage on leg. I have a party tomorrow otherwise I will do only pedicures and leave. Luckily During the powder gel manicure, she stopped talking on the phone. This nail spa is about the luck that who you will get. I got a pedicure here last week and can attest that the salon and staff are taking COVID very seriously. As pictured, there are barriers on each pedicure chair on the front and both sides. I made an appointment and there were only two other guests in the large salon at the time. Neither were seated close to me. All staff and guests were properly wearing their masks. Ugh I spent a lot of money treating myself to the works--massage, mani/pedi, threading--but ended up with poor service. The Polish was smudged and chipped. Didn't last more than a day. The massage was not great since my girl was yelling and talking to other workers the whole time. Not worth the money. I went to another spa a week later and got excellent service, like a high end spa, and the price was the same as this place, not a high end spa. Will not be back and do not recommend. This is my first time ever giving a bad review and I feel bad but I feel like it's necessary and can help someone. I came here about 3 days ago for a gel mani and regular pedi. To sum up my experience: - My nail tech, whose name I do not know, would not stop trying to upsell me even though I repeated many times that I was content with the color/package I chose. She even brought me a bucket of dip powder colors and told me to look thru them even though I already chose my gel color. - The nail polish on my toes was fairly light, so I asked if she could paint a third coat. She laughed and said of course, I was already planning to paint four. She ended up leaving it at two coats and you can see my nail underneath. I won't post a picture of my toes, but it's probably one of the poorest pedis I've ever received. - When she was running the drill over my nails, it started to burn so I flinched. In my past experience, this has never happened before so I was taken aback. My past nail techs have always said if something burns, let me know. This nail tech didn't say anything after I told her it burned. She just chuckled and kept going and I had to tell her I need a second so she would stop. - When it came to paying, she asked me if I needed change while I was pulling cash out to tip her. She then pointed at the receipt and pointed at the tip section and said that's how much tip. HUH?!? It was so awkward... - Throughout my session she kept giving unwarranted advice on my skin ( I have a pimple on my forehead). Even if she meant well, it was just a bit rude. The final straw is that about 3 days later, my toes look even worse than when I came in and my nails have chipped. Never in my years of getting mani/pedis have my nails chipped this badly. I just took off my nails from this place only to find a green spot on my nail! i went to urgent care and the doctor told me that this can be caused from an dirty environment when the nails are getting done your nails not being cleaned properly before the acrylic is applied!!!! now that you know the aftermath, here's my experience. at the salon when my boyfriend and i got to the salon we were greeted and sat down for our mani pedis. they started on his nails first which i thought was a weird choice bc my nails would obviously take longer and i wouldn't want him waiting long for me(which ended up happening) and when i voiced that they assured me that someone would be there to do my feet soon. so i was like ok cool and i waited... and waited.... and waited... and by the time my feet were being done my bf was halfway through his mani! so with the pedicure i also felt that she was constantly trying to upsell me. like i asked for the special and she showed me something else more expensive and not what i was asking for. i mean good for her for being a good sales woman but i also was like can just get what i'm asking for? anyways as she's doing the pedi i asked if she could do a design on my nails (it was a very simple line) and she said it would be like a $100 extra! i thought that was weird and the pricing didn't make sense but i just decided to get a solid color. so finally i'm getting my nails done, mind you i am so jaded at this point from waiting so long and also being in a low mood in general and my bf is waiting and she's just getting started. she starts like buffing my nails and filing them and putting on the tips and then i notice that she didn't even cut my cuticles! like huh? that's normally the first thing that people do when i've gotten acrylics in the past. i didn't say anything at the time because i just figured that that must be how they do things at this place ‍ im not the nail tech! but looking back i realize that i didn't get my cuticles cut and i didn't wash my hands a bunch of times like i usually do when getting my nails done. so i believe thats probably how the infection occurred. (i also found out later that they didn't trip my bfs cuticles either) the nails themselves looked adequate at best. they were noticeably crooked and looked weird at the base (bc she didn't even give me a manicure) and honestly i was really disappointed. i asked her fix the shape a few times but at a certain point i was just like "they can't get any better i just want nails on at this point" really the only reason i went there was because i was leaving for vacation the next day, this place was recommended to me, and it had good reviews. but i deeply regretted that decision the moment she started on my nails and then when i was leaving it sunk in even more. the lady was rude to me the whole time (although i was nothing but nice to her) AND the nails looked bad AND it took forever so i was debating if i should even leave a tip or not. because i feel people should get their money, i decided to tip her 10$ despite the poor services and outrageous prices. then this woman just did the MOST disrespectful thing i've ever seen. As i was writing the tip and doing my signature on the receipt, the technician was standing over my shoulder and watching me closely. Then, because i tipped lower than the suggested gratuity, (and again i didn't want to tip at all) she looked at me and then pointed at the gratuity then at mine and went back and forth like she was confused. at that point i was over it so i just looked her in her eyes until she walked away only to go 5ft away from me and shit talk me to her coworker!!! like she couldn't even wait until i was gone? and it was so obvious! me and my bf just left and i was so upset at the time but i decided not to write a review bc i didn't want to waste the time on them. but now that i know that they are using improper cleaning practices i felt i should warn other people before they make my same mistake read more

While the powder gel mani and regular pedi I received from Jenny lasted well, it was very painful. She is not careful or gentle and cut me several times. When I ask her to remove a hair from my nail, smooth out a rough area, etc., she just ignores. I asked her to be careful because she kept slicing my skin with the nail file, and she just chuckled. I felt nervous and uncomfortable both times. I couldn't believe my bad luck getting Jenny twice in a row. I do recommend this place. Just make sure you don't get Jenny. read more
