It starts at 11am, but I got here at 1045 so you can get checked in and skates ready. The instructor was nice, I didn't catch her name, but she was helping my daughter for a little bit. The class size was definitely bigger than I thought? Maybe like 20 people? Including grown ups to 5 year olds? There was another young girl helping her since there was so many participants. I spoke to Bob and he was helpful. Answered all my questions with honesty. I appreciated that. The bathrooms were clean. They had tables and seating areas. You can order food, cotton candy, dipping dots, icees, and more. There were arcade games with prizes. The place def gave 90's vibes! I ended up renting roller blades after her lesson, which was $22 (kinda pricey imo) and only skated for about 20 minutes with my daughter. But it was fun. The major issue is the FLOOR it is not smooth at all, the rink is so hot. They have big fans but not aimed at the floor. Several people including myself had to stop and stand in front of a fan to cool down. There is no carpet in the area you put your skates on. That does not feel safe, the floor area is very slippery. We did not get a chance to play games so can't comment on those. We did not read any reviews before we came in order to not be biased. We did come because of the great deal of family of 4 for $30.

It's a fantastic way to get involved in a group sport, enjoy some skating with friends or loved ones, and/or be a spectator - in their stadium cushioned seating. I watched my husband play a game here recently and it was a blast. There is a decent amount of seating, as well as a snack bar on certain nights. My favorite aspect of High Country though -was their incredible vending machines. They truly have everything in them. From old school favorites like nerds, to classic chocolate bars, and much more. This place is a wonderful local family run business. I highly suggest you check out their website and event schedule to figure out games to enjoy/and or days to stop on by to skate it up. Trust.

The ice is pretty sturdy, and the railing around the side is safe for all the beginner skaters out there (like myself) who spend the first ten minutes stubbornly clinging to the edge from fear. There's also a lot of bucket towers provided that beginner skaters can use to lean on while they skate. I liked that there were two medium-sized rinks, so you could easily transfer from one to the other if the rink you're on had too many people zooming around. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, and overall it was a great experience! (Skate rentals are $5 and entry is $10)

The good: very cute place, tons of parking, restrooms, snack bar…read more The bad: no refunds, uncomfortable skates, melty ice. I brought my 2 daughters and 1 friend to skate here a few days ago. Spent $53 for 3 tickets. I had just taken the girls a few days prior to skate at Modesto on ice as we live in Modesto but they were sold out at the time we wanted to go so decided to come here instead. As soon as they got on the ice they said that it was really hard to skate because the ice was very melty and also complained that their feet hurt really bad. They were on there for less than 5 minutes. Mind you they skated 2 days prior at the other place for a full session just fine so it was kind of weird that their feet hurt and wanted to leave. I asked if I could get a refund. They were adamant that I could not and that I could change the tickets for another day. I went ahead and did that but my girls refuse to go back there and keep asking if we can just go to Modesto instead. The supervisor I talked to stated that Modesto uses the same skates and that he recommends wearing thick socks because the ice skates aren't made for comfort. I don't know if that is true or not or if maybe the skates were old or too new but whatever the case my kids don't want to go back. Since I can't get a refund, I guess I'm out $53. I don't think that is right. They should be more understanding especially when kids are involved. I could see if they skated for half an hour and then said their feet hurt but they literally didn't even skate at all. Thumbs down!
