THE worse service department, ever! Dont bother with an appointment, it means nothing. Arrive for a 9:40 tire pressure monitor repair appointment on time and check in as my vehicle sits out front. Talk to a sales guy, walk the lot, stand around, stand around some more and now its 10:40, one hour and nothing done my vehicle still sitting out front. Thats it I'm outta here, this service department needs an overhaul. You have too many vehicles scheduled at one time, DONT MAKE APPOINTMENTS YOU CANT KEEP. The only good thing that I can say is that Jake Grajeda was a Awesome sales man. He was very patient while were deciding between a few cars. We had let him know from the beginning of our conversation that we had to leave early and what our intentions were about buying the car cash out right. He did let everyone that was involved in the incident know about us having to leave early and that we would be back to finish the deal with the cash in hand. Unfortunately Kemal and the financing guy were not listening when we told them that we needed to leave at a certain time. They said that they needed to run our credit after we said that we were paying cash. They ran it not once , but 5 times. We both have excellent credit. And said that we needed to put money down(check) on the vehicle to hold it until 2 days later when we come back with the cash. We went back to get the check and they had cashed it anyway. I've always came here for the regular maintenance and always wait 1+ hour(s) just for a simple tire rotation and up to 2.5 hours for an oil change. I only ever come back to show loyalty but things are getting out of hand. A while ago when they "inspect the tires", they told me everything was fine and the pressure was a little low "due to weather". I kept losing pressure consistently so i took it to another tire place where they found 2 nails and patched it for free. How did the guys not catch this? This last time I went I got the car back with a crack and a small hole on the headlight. The part itself is supposedly $1000, but gave me a discount quote for $800. You want me to pay this plus labor even though you guys did the damage?! Not cool at all. Save your time and money elsewhere. read more

Beware of Modesto Toyota hidden fees when purchasing a vehicle there. After owning our new car for one year, it would not start. Battery was being drained. We jumped it and drove it to the dealership( 160 miles round trip) where we found out for the first time that there is a feature called 'Safety Connec' which is a subscription service at $80 per year EVERY YEAR that you have to pay in order to start your car and keep the battery charged. This was not disclosed to us in the contract or from any salesperson. Here I come BBB ,Angie's list , 'Mr Toyota', and anyone else I can find to complain to. We have owned 5 toyotas and this is the LAST ONE. Feel taken advantage of in a big way. I could go on but you get the jist. Shame on you , Toyota. read more

I finally bought my first brand new car!!!! I've had many cars but never brand new! I had an 87 Toyota Corolla hatchback and I absolutely loved it. I saw the ad for the 2019 Toyota Corolla hatchback and loved it and new that I had to get it. I called the store and asked for sales. I was connected with Ben. I explained to him what I was looking for and the time frame that I wanted it and certain specifications that I was looking for. He didn't have any in the color that I wanted but he said he will look around for one and try to get me what I want. A couple days later he gave me a call and said he found one and when it was coming in. I was super excited and told him that fit perfectly with my time frame. I finally came in today. They had it out front. I called Ben on the way there and he told me to talk to Hector and he will help me. I got there and met Hector and he was very friendly and helpful. We went for a test drive and I absolutely loved the car! I wanted the 6 speed manual and wow is it fun!! My wife also loved the car. I was pre-approved with Capitol One and we negotiated a little bit and they worked with me so that I would be happy and comfortable with the monthly payments. Ben and Hector were awesome and made my experience buying my first car very relaxing and stress-free as you can imagine I was stressed out before we got there. Hector left to fill up my gas tank and I told him jokingly that I want the car dried because it was raining outside and when he brought the car back it was completely dry! That man even dried my car!! Lol I love it! Seguin helped me with financing and was super cool and relaxed. Okay, I've been a Toyota Motor Credit customer for the last 6 years and currently have a lease on a 2015 Toyota Corolla S Plus and my 3 year lease is up in 3 weeks. I contacted them via an email and I Gentleman by the name of Rich got back to me with a phone call. I told him that I wanted to get into another lease and he said we will talk tomorrow. The next day, I received a call from Alan and his vm stated that he had a few questions for me and to call him back. I called him back two hours later and I left him a vm. No call back from either one of these guys. I did send the internet manager an email 3 days ago and the email shown in the picture below and I still have had no one contact me. I've had a bad experience with their service dept a couple years ago and decided to give the Sales Dept a chance because they are the closest dealership to me. I did get a quote from two managers and they stayed on top of the deal. The price was not what I was looking for. read more

Where do I begin? After the purchase of 4 new Toyotas from Modesto Toyota in the past 6 years, I had to take my business elsewhere. Shortly after my recent purchase of a new 4Runner from Elk Grove Toyota I started receiving mailers with service specials wanting me back (Modesto). After the purchase of my 4Runner in February I decided to updrade my wheels and tires. My local tire shop broke a tire pressure monitor sensor (TPMS) which caused the computer to flash the tire light. After installing a second OEM replacement they solicited the assistance from Modesto Toyota Service center to get me in and fix the problem. After all, the tire shop purchased the TPMS from Modesto Toyota. Three phone messages were left with Mike Wilson and the calls were not returned. Having dealt with this for 3 weeks I reached out to Elk Grove. I text my salesman Bill Gann and he quickly put me in contact with Assistant Service Manager Charles Linck. Charles took the time to explain the problem and fixed it, free of charge! Elk Grove Toyota has a great team of people willing to help. My business is with Elk Grove, even if I have to drive from Modesto for scheduled services! Modesto Toyota has completely lost my business! read more

I went to the Service Department for a very small item. The person working today between 4-4:30 pm and working the left side of the counter was rude and lazy. He would have to geo and look to see if they had that item and then just starred at me. It was not important enough to try. Incredibly disappointed after my most recent service. When checking out I was told everything was all good. I double checked as I personally felt maybe my brakes would need to be looked at in depth but was assured the brakes were good and that my tires would be the next thing to go and I'd need new ones in the future. Immediately after driving off the lot my car not only felt different, but sounded different. I ran errands the next day and muted the radio and my car still felt and sounded different. Knowing there was some type of issue, I reverted back to my paperwork where my tires were noted to be in the red. This is half my fault for not looking more in-depth at the service paper at check out, but when asking if there were any issues and being told it's all good, suddenly noticing a problem is frustrating. How could service not see there was an issue when they rotated my tires?! I purchased all new tires and went to have them installed today & could not believe the condition of what was on my vehicle! Two of my tires showed severe cupping--this didn't happen in the few days since my service. Someone should have noticed this and relayed this information to me at Toyota when picking up my vehicle as it was a safety issue. Words cannot describe my disappointment in Modesto Toyota. read more

If I could give this dealership 0 stars I would. My husband and I were looking for a Toyota Tundra which is what caused a trip to Modesto Toyota. The customer service provided was terrible from the very beginning. The sales person said the prices were the best in the area and there was no room for negotiations WRONG prices are not less than surrounding dealers they are actually more than some of the other dealerships we visited. Second we had a potential trade in and in addition to offering a number that was insulting the user car sales manager's attitude is what did it. Just FYI Toyota of Modesto this is no way to treat your customers or gain business support. Everything today is word of mouth and I would never recommend a dealership who interacts with customers in this way. Had an appointment for service due to attention lights on. Within an hour and a half, my wife receives a text that the truck is done and ready for pick up. Pick up the truck this past Saturday, and the tire sensor light was still on. Went back in and the guy outside said it would be about an hour and the guy inside said at the end of the day. So we live in Oakdale and had to wait 4 hours more to get it fixed. They didn't even move us up on the list. Why not a phone call on Friday to tell us it was a tire sensor and here is the price? Instead they changed the oil and called it a day. This the second time in the last two months we have had two of our cars serviced there and both times it was a joke. No close competition is the problem is why they could care less. My suggestion is to find another dealership even if it means a longer drive and more money. These guys are real clowns. read more

I recently when in to browse their selection and narrow down what me and the wife were looking for. We were met at the door by Kevin, a great salesman who made it clear to us that he would do what he could to make sure we leave in a vehicle that meets our needs. After some comparisons and a test drive our decision was made. Next was checking to see what was available in the options we wanted, in comes the Sales Manager Alan. The options we wanted we're not allocated at the moment, Kevin advised us to wait if we wanted until they were. Alan had the typical extremely pushy car sales pitch that made us second guess if we even wanted a Toyota. We left and compared at other dealerships up to 50 mi. from home. A day or so later, we called Kevin back to check on their allocations and with our luck, they had a few coming in about a week. Unfortunately every one coming was going to get a lift kit and wheel upgrade which would raise the price a little more than what we wanted. With the holiday weekend coming up, some got the upgrades put off and Kevin called us immediately! He let us know he transfered the deposit to the cheaper option and it would be available to look at later that day. When we arrived, Kevin immediately told us there was a mistake and Alan did not transfer the deposit. So if we did not buy that car right now, there was already someone that would buy it within the next couple hours, definitely being pushy and pinning us with our backs against the wall. Thankfully it was exactly what we were looking for and we bought it, had it not, we would've not ended up purchasing that day. Overall Kevin was a great salesman at 5/5 and Alan was the worst rated at 1/5, hence the 4/5 we rated. Kevin was the highlight and only reason we purchased the vehicle! read more

No Service and Expensive repairs!! Went into the Modesto Toyota repair shop for a faulty brake switch and also for a diagnostic on a leaking rear differential. I had a service job go bad at a local oil change facility and they stripped the rear differential fill location on my Tacoma. As it turns out Modesto Toyota wants to replace the entire rear axle assembly at a cost of over $2300. This is clearly an excessive cost for a stripped fill plug. Almost to the point of being ripped off by the repair shop and the service advisor. comment from the advisor (That's what the book says) Took my Tacoma to another shop and they were able to clean the threads on the axle assembly and replace the plug for about $150 and I couldn't be more happy with the repair. Mind you I was not paying for the repair, the shop that stripped the plug is. I don't understand why a business that has been serving the community for many years would feel like they need to take advantage of the community that keeps them in business. So long Modesto Toyota NEVER again will I purchase a vehicle from you, nor will I ever use your service department again in this lifetime. I personally would not buy from this dealer as a recommendation the community nor would I use the service department. read more

I wanted to start off by saying that while purchasing the car, they were good. No issues there. But this "free" oil change every 5000 miles or 6 months deal was "part of the package". OK - nothing is for free. The car now has 20,000 miles on it and I have used that service ZERO times. What was interesting is I received a service reminder email from them that allowed me to book my appointment on line. Good so far. Then I get an email stating my appointment was cancelled? I never cancelled it. I contacted them and their "system" cancelled it. Asked if I could re-schedule and the next appointment for an oil change (yes - oil change - nothing extreme) was over 2 weeks out. Mind you - I received this same "excuse" at the 5000, 10,000 and 15,000 mark. I don't know why I thought it would be any different now. I will pay the $75 for the oil change and get it done same day. Like I said....NOTHING is for free in this world. Modesto Toyota just validated that statement. read more
