I absolutely loved all of the lights and festive décor--it created such a fun and cozy atmosphere. The bar is themed after *The Simpsons*, and I loved seeing all the paintings and details inspired by the show. The drinks are also amazing! My personal favorite was the **Mmm... Donuts**, but the **Raspberry Whip is seriously to die for**. The bartenders are always funny, welcoming, and incredibly kind, which makes the experience even better. Karaoke nights on Wednesdays and Fridays are also a must! You get to see so much personality and life in the room, with all different kinds of voices and performances. I love The Simpsons-themed bars, so I was excited when we stumbled upon Moez while walking back to our car near Union Square. We hadn't planned on stopping, but it ended up being the highlight of our night! Of course, I couldn't leave without trying a Flaming Moe and getting some Duff Beer. Wow, so apparently this bar has a very interesting customer service policy: tip us generously, even for basic service, but don't you dare try to pay the wrong way either. When my friend asked for a simple cup of water, he was told no because there was no tip. Seriously? Charging customers for the privilege of receiving basic human decency now? Maybe the staff should spend less energy policing everyone's tips and more energy actually providing decent service. Being busy or understaffed is frustrating, but somehow blaming the customers for ordering drinks at a bar is certainly a bold business strategy. Apparently, you can't win: don't tip enough, they're upset; try to pay, they're upset; ask what you're drinking, apparently that's too much to ask. Amazing customer service model. read more

I have been wanting to come here since I first found out about this pop-up maybe about a year ago ago and finally was in the area within walking distance and had to stop by. It's definitely a most for any Simpsons fan as there's so many cute decorations and references to the show all over the place and you just see little things here and there hidden everywhere. The BEST shows (and music) was in the 90s. At least from this geriatric millennial's POV: Full House, Family Matters, Step by Step, Boy Meets World, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Saved By The Bell, 90210, and OFC the longest running show in U.S. history.... THE SIMPSONS! We were waiting for P.C.H. to open so decided to pop in for a drink. The vibe at Moe'z is on point. They recreated the iconic Simpsons' living room with [sinking] orange couch, table with lamp, and tilted painting. Not to mention Bart writing on the chalkboard, hanging pink glazed donut, famous quotes (D'oh!) in neon lighting, Duff beer glasses, and the list goes on. And, I love the Bay Area themed Simpson's inspired paintings from local artists (available for purchase). While they have cute themed cocktails for photo ops, they look and sound sugary. For those who like it simple, they have a limited selection of liquor and it's overpriced compared to neighboring trendy, upscale cocktail bars like P.C.H. and Persona. One Tanqueray Gin w/ club soda and a ginger ale was $21.50 before tip. That's trendy rooftop bar and luxe hotel pricing, yo! Overall, Moe'z is a decent novelty dive bar to hit up for one drink and for photo ops. It's more of a place I would recommend to tourists or as a starting point for a bar crawl since they open at 2 pm. One Duff and onto the next! P.S. - This is a permanent bar, not a pop-up. read more

Cool Simpsons themed bar with Simpsons themed drinks and the Simpson's video game which is free! Stopped in for a work HH event with a few co-workers. There weren't many people there, but it was cool and nostalgic to see all of the Simpsons stuff and have a few drinks. They have a pretty high level bourbon selection, but no menu/list with prices, so that was a bit odd. I noticed they had a few different Pappy Van Winkles, but those are out of my price range. I think they should have a bourbon list with details and prices etc. I think that would help a ton if someone was going to try and order. No food, but cool place to check out and have a drink or two. I obviously had to get a little taste of universal studios by checking this place out with some friends and I was NOT disappointed my friends and I were hysterically laughing at all of Homer's hidden spots in the bushes on the wall and the fact they had the whole bar set up exactly like the show down to the drinks! Everything was themed and it was amazing! We had some drinks my slushee was sweet and almost tart! Which I love! We loved the Apres Ski as well as the presentation! There was food but we did not get around to it however I think they should certainly add a pink sprinkled donut here to make it REALLY Simpsons themed!! With a sweet treat. But delicious drinks!!! Love this Simpsons inspired bar. If there was one closer to home, it would definitely be my go-to spot. The drinks are super creative, from their take on the Squishee (the frozen drink from the Kwik-E-Mart) to classic Duff Beer. What a fun surprise. I had seen it online but its so much better in person. While I am not a huge Simpsons fan it was so much fun it see the real life versions of Moe's and enjoy the characters and set. They have themed drinks and photo ops, which is so fun. The bartenders had a relaxed a cool vibe and made me an excellent drink. I wish I had more time to explore beyond the quick drink before dinner and if I had a friend who loved the Simpson, I would love to be the one to take them here and share in their enjoyment. Moez is a really fun spot for Simpsons fans. Duff beer on tap (actually very good - not a typical light beer). But two things really stand out: 1). They have AMAZING bourbons, including all of the unicorns you are looking for like Pappy Van Winkle, Weller, EH Taylor, Stagg, etc etc. REALLY good. Prices are reasonable (for those) 2) Service is fantastic. I felt like a regular, even though I just stopped in on whim. The bartender (names starts with R, but not sharing for privacy) was fantastic. He made Flaming Moes for people while I was there, which was fun.
