My husband and I had made an appointment to test drive a Ridgeline at Mohawk Honda. We were excited to go to Mohawk Honda as we had heard good things. However, that was not the case. We scheduled an appointment to test drive because the dealership is not very close to our house and we wanted to make sure that someone would be available to help us. When we arrived, we were not greeted and had to find someone to help us, although we had an appointment. We were then directed to a communications specialist, who then directed us to a salesman who would be helping us. We were then given a tour of the facility and brought to a desk. We sat at the desk for about 10 minutes to find out that the did not have a Ridgeline for us to test drive!! We left and they told us that they would call us when they had one for us to drive. We took the 40 minute ride home to get a call first thing the next morning asking us to come back, they have 2. We went back the next day just to have to wait for someone to help us. We went through 2 different sales people before we were taken to a desk with someone who was clearly busy. We waited at the desk while she finished helping 2 other customers. We finally went for our test drive and came back to wait at the same desk while they appraised our trade which came back laughably undervalued. When we finally went to leave, we were handed keys that were not to our car. (I am still convinced that they appraised the wrong car.) We waited more for them to find "our" keys. A few days later we got a thank you note in the mail, in which they had gotten my name wrong. After spending 2 days in the dealership, you would think that you could learn my name!! If I could give negative stars I would. I am never going to Mohawk Honda for service ever again! I've been there 2 times for service and both times they messed up my service. Let's begin with the first visit. One of the things I asked for when making the appointment and arriving for the appointment was a simple oil and filter change. When I got the car back, the oil was not changed and the multipoint inspection indicated the oil levels were good. Two days later my oil light went on and I had to do it myself. On the second and most recent visit, I came in on a wednesday for several services, one being my windshield wipers, as they were working but misaligned. They could not complete this service on Wednesday because they had to order parts, and asked me to come back Friday. Okay. Friday rolls around and I drop off my car before work at 2 pm, and was told I could pick up the car after closing at 8 pm as long as I paid over the phone and had a spare key to unlock it. My service advisor, Gunnar Shifley, said he would be there until 5 and would call me when it's done. Okay. 4 pm comes on Friday and I am left a voicemail that says the part they ordered is broken and they will have to do it Saturday. I tried to call my service advisor, and was told he left early and wasn't going to be back all weekend. I understand things happen and stuff breaks, so I said fine I will pick up my car tonight and bring it back Saturday morning before work at 8 am, as they offered me a rental for the inconvenience. 2 minutes after offering the rental on the phone, I'm told by both mike Malone and Ian O'Connor that I should just "pay for an Uber" to get to work instead. I did not pay tens of thousands of dollars for a car just to have to take an Uber for something that wasn't even my fault! What happened to getting a rental?? Then I was told by Ian O'Connor that he would pay double for my Uber ($20 is nothing to take off the price when you've just spent $1,500 and they're screwing you over and leaving you carless). I was also extremely offended when they said this to me, because you could tell they did not care that they left me without a car at last minute. They then say that the next day they will drop my car off to me at my job when it's done before 2 pm, which is when I get out of work on Saturday. So 1:40 rolls around Saturday and I was told that there is only one driver, so they will have to have a shuttle pick me up and bring me there. They did not show up to my job until 2:30, not only did I miss a doctors appointment, but I also had to make my SO leave work early to come get me and bring me to get my car because I could not wait. When I arrived to pick up my car, some old guy argued with me about calling me to make sure I was still getting out at 2 to come pick me up, why would my work hours suddenly change out of nowhere? Anyways, the service there sucks, the employees are rude, and they don't know what the fuck they're doing cause I even left a list in my car of everything I needed done because they didn't do my oil change last time and they STILL forgot to put new wiper blades on after they fixed the wipers. First they offer me 7,000 for trade then I say I'll get back to you and they keep hounding me to come back so I do then we make a deal on a trade but he Says he will get back to me on a trade in price. Well if the week before u offered me 7k what do you have to get back to me for. Anyways I left a deposit then they cash it and give me a call on a price for trade in 3,500!!! Are u kidding me. Bought an 09 MINI Cooper from them last October. 4 months later the electrical system is having issues. I brought in to their service department, who informed me that they don't know how to fix Minis(something they didn't mention when selling me the extended service agreement) and I would need to drive about an hour, with a potentially dangerous situation, to a MINI dealer to fix it. So yeah, the showroom is special, the coffee and danish is lovely, but when they are willing to sell you a car that has issues in less then 5 months, issues they can't fix, the other stuff, to me, is just smoke and mirrors. read more

I am very unhappy with Mohawk Honda and would not recommend them . My first terrible experience was when my trunk wouldn't open. Their 1st estimate was $300 , then when I picked up the car it was $500. Not happy. When I received a follow up call and told them my concern, magically they went back to the original quote. What's with That! Now I feel like they tried to rip me off. Next event,peeling paint around my back window. Take it there and ask why . They show concern and confused . I'm thinking defective paint. Told to bring it to collision center, same response. Told looks like someone might have taken back window out. Not to my knowledge. Unless Honda did with trunk issue. Went into Mohawk Honda to speak with someone regarding trading in my civic for something a little bigger with all wheel drive. I definitely do not need a new car, but something that handles better in the snow and provides a little extra room would be much more convenient. I sat down with a sales rep who kept saying "we're going to get you into a new car today" when that wasn't my concern. I had researched and found a 2016 HRV on their site I was interested in looking at and test driving. If we could work something out, great, if not I would keep my civic for now. Well I never even saw the HRV let alone test drove it. I was being offered other cars and SUV's on the lot when I specifically expressed my interest in a particular vehicle. There was so much being thrown at me and by the end of it I was being offered a lease for a new civic rolling in the $3000 remaining on my current loan, after trade in value, into the lease... I ended up having an anxiety attack and walking out. I left feeling completely defeated. I will not be returning to Mohawk Honda. read more

I went to Mohawk to buy a used truck. Decent selection. I had a trade in. I test drove a couple of trucks. When we ran the numbers and developed a trade in value it was laughable. They offered me less than 50% of the WHOLESALE value of my mint condition car. I know this because I have a colleague who works at the auto auction in Clifton park and they scanned my VIN and gave me the auction price. What I did not like was they tried to get me to sign a document in passing that would have locked me into the price before they saw what we were trading in. Sneaky! If I could give 0 stars for their service department, I would. When my Accord was the subject of a recall notice regarding the driver's airbag not deploying safely, off to Mohawk we went. It took 3 repeat visits, and STILL the issue was never fully resolved. When the mechanic finished during my first visit to have the recall issue resolved, the check engine & SRS lights were both on. Prior to my visit, they were off, having never activated during my years of driving the car. Drove back, but the service department said all the mechanics had gone home as they were closing. WTF?? What was I supposed to do, then? "Just drive safe and don't get in any head-on collisions" was the service adviser's reply. Really? Really? On the 2nd visit, the lights were out, but wires were hanging out from beneath the dashboard that were not dangling down before my 2nd visit. Back again. The brilliant minds somehow could not figure it out. I got t-boned the next week, so never had an opportunity to have them make it right. My boss bought a brand-new CRV there yesterday, and they somehow managed to get grease all over the driver's seat while prepping the car... NEVER go to Mohawk Honda for service! I took my car for diagnostic, their diagnostic was wrong but they charged$106.92 Ok. Do the repair, they installed old part, without repair work was done. Paid $325.99. I was told car is good to go. Car did not start, was dead. Lisa Valentino, asked customer if, customer is not happy, tow the car and take some place else.(Worst Customer dealing). Again, part was ordered and charged the customer almost $600 in labor work..................Please DO NOT GO THERE if any repair work needed for your car. They wanted alot for there car nothing for ours got twice the better deal at Saratoga Honda and they heard the Mohawk horror stories they love it they get more customers and better deals. I brought my car in to Mohawk Honda when the engine light came on. They called me later to say it was fixed and that the "fix engine" light on the dashboard was now off. I started driving home and noticed that the "fix engine" light on the dashboard was not turned off, so I brought it back in. Later they called me to say it was done and to come in and get it. When I got there, they couldn't find my keys. Turned out they had given them to another customer. They had to call that customer and ask him to bring my keys back to Mohawk Honda, which for some reason the customer agreed to do. Completely bizarre. read more

This is only for the service department. Sales was great. I had to take my car in to be serviced because of a recall and when I got it back and got home, I could not get the keys out! They had messed something up inconveniencing me because I had to return it the following day to get it fixed again. The person helping me was very nice, however I was offered no complimentary services for my time wasted ( and the fact I had to leave my car with the keys in them overnight) they didn't even offer to compensate for the gas it took to come back...a little bit on their end would have left me a satisfied customer, however I would never take my car here for any repairs or service work again. read more

I was gifted an accessory that needs to be installed so I had called a month or so ago for a price. I was told $28.75. I called back to schedule the appointment recently and asked to verify the cost. THIS time, I was told over $100! This isn't the first time I've had issues with them just the first time I decided to comment. Another time I called to find out about how much a particular 'check' would cost (routine maintenance in the owner's manual) & the rep kept telling me the cost of a 'replacement'. I kept having to correct her and she finally said that she had never seen one that didn't need replacement LOL! No kidding? Gee, being a car to a dealer and trust them to tell the truth & lose a sale? I brought the car to an independent mechanic and was told everything was fine. A few of the men evidently have issues with intelligent women-I let that go because I've been dealing with that my entire life & stupid men are not worth my time or energy. But now? I'm done. Recently bought a brand new HRV. The buying experience was good. Where Mohawk Honda really excelled was the service after the sale. A few weeks after I purchase the car I hit a deer. I already had a quote from another collision shop but had an appointment to have Mohawk look at the car for a different reason. I met the sales Manager Alan Kholstinin on the day of my appointment. When we went over what happened with the accident he completely took care of the situation. We drove over to their collision center and got everything taken care of immediately. I drove off in a rental car that morning. I would have been waiting for another week just to get my car in and several days for the repairs. What made this a great experience is how he took care of an issue that I was not even going to them about. Just after I sold my car and purchased a new one at Lia Honda (an exceptional experience) I received a letter in the mail describing the class action suit involving the model car I had purchased and the exact problems which Mohawk Honda had denied existed for all of the two years. While the office staff was lovely, he expressed some challenges navigating the complex insurance payment morass. I came in looking to trade in my Subaru WRX for a similar car with lower payments. I had seen the honda summer lease sale commercials, and decided to check it out. My friend referred me to Camren and gave me his contact info. Camren was great right off the bat with answering questions over phone call and text before I even came into the dealership. He then had me come in and test drive a couple to find out which fit me best. He also knew I was new to leasing, along with cars with tons of technology (I had a basic model), so he took the time to explain everything with me step by step. I like the selection on this dealer but they are horrible when it comes to prices, they don't care about loyalty, I bought a Camaro 2 years ago and they did not neg to price, so ok i still bought it, next year i traded it for a Maxima and not only they gave me bottom trade value but only discounted 400 dollars of the price after i cried for a reduction, now im trying to trade my second vehicle and go there for the third time in 3 years and even this time they are giving me decent trade value they only reducing the price of the vehicle im interested by 300 dollars, i told them i would buy the car but they have to reduce the price from 16,900 to 16,000 and they said NO. wow!!!! after Ive been there 3 times they still wont do anything to keep me happy and not to mention i refer a friend there who bought a car from them, so now they are loosing a loyal customer for a mere 600 dollars, smh, no loyalty, read more

This is a review for the Collision Center. I took my 2014 Corvette to Gerry Rosenbarker, the Collision Center Manager, to evaluate the XPEL film on the front of the car that had been installed incorrectly by another dealer. I purchased this car used from a private owner and the film was delaminating due to a poor installation. Gerry evaluated the car and replaced the film. Not only did he fix the film but he insisted on buffing out a few imperfections in the paint at no charge. The new XPEL film is perfect. The team at Mohawk Honda went above and beyond what was required and made my experience one of the best I have had with any business. Had to write this review after giving my concerns much thought. After having bought three previous Honda's from Mohawk in the past 30 years, it was our first choice to go to with the intention of purchasing another Pilot. First impression when visiting on a busy Saturday--not good. A local businessperson recommended we ask for Brian McKenna to help us with the sale. We did just that & he couldn't be bothered to spend more that 10 minutes with us because we weren't ready to buy that day. Granted, we did not have an appointment & it was busy but his off putting manner totally turned me off & I let him know it. My husband was more willing to give him a chance & contacted him a few weeks later to set up an appointment for a test drive & to discuss pricing further. My husband tested the car with Brian & his immediate comment to my husband was " these cars are selling like hot cakes, people are paying way over sticker price, we don't deal on them at all"! Now we weren't looking to pay rock bottom but come on....who says that to a long time, repeat customer or any potential buyer for that matter. Very unprofessional. My husband politely thanked him, walked out & we never looked back. Went to Lia Nissan & bought a brand new Murano which we love & had excellent service & very professional treatment by our sales rep. & the dealership in general. Mohawk Honda, you have lost a long time customer. Furthermore, I inform everyone I know just how your sales people treat their customers. Be careful who you are dealing with because your rep. obviously gave no thought to his arrogance & how it could harm your organization. My husband happens to be the co-owner of a local business that is fairly prominent in the Schenectafy community. Not good for you to have our poor experience shared with many local business people, etc. It's a shame because I always loved the Honda car product but your sales staff totally ruined that. read more

About a month ago I brought my 2011 Honda Odyssey to Mohawk Honda for an oil change and NYState inspection. While I was there I asked them to check a rust spot on the back hatch door,  between the trim and door. I remembered something about a recall notice I had received a year or so earlier.  The van had 37,0000 miles on it so it was out of warranty. This is usually a worry when bringing your car back to the dealer. I was told the car was in great shape with only the back brake pads needing replacement "sometime soon". I was told they checked with Honda and sure enough the body work to fix the rust spot was fully covered under a recall. A week later Mohawk Honda called me to set up an appointment to have the body work done. The reason I have a van is to carry a wheel chair and a scooter for my wife to use. They offered a curtesy car for my use and I explained that it had to be at least large enough to transport a wheelchair. I also arranged to have the back brakes replaced while they had the car. Monday morning I brought the van in as scheduled. I was welcomed by a lady in the Collision Department office with all the paperwork prepared and ready for me to sign and be on my way. Up to the door an employee drove a brand new Honda CRV EX AWD, SUV. The lady handed me the key and wished me a nice day. The SUV had 12 miles on it. "Brand new...out of the box!". What a thrill! Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving we had the record snow storm. Boy, did I appreciate that All Wheel Drive! Today, black Friday,I got a call from Tom the service rep. to tell me that the brakes were done and the van was ready to pick up. No surprises, the brake cost was as estimated in advance and the body work was "no charge". At that point I was already very pleased with the service I received, but, imagine my surprise when I found they not only fixed the hatch door, but touched up every little scratch on the car and did a complete detailing of the interior. It felt and looks like a brand new van. Since my first Odyssey, second Odyssey, and third Odyssey, all purchased through salesman Brian McKenna, I have never had any reason to complain about Mohawk Honda. I have recommended them to many of my friends, and now I really have something to praise them over. I am sure my next Odyssey will be coming from Mohawk Honda! Pick up the car on a Sat including talking with finance manager and signing all the papers was probably the quickest I ever experience at a auto dealership. When she showed up for her appointment she was told that we were 8000 miles over the limit for the recall and they could not help her. My wife drove 50 minutes each way and wasted her time and gas, after she was originally told it would not be a problem ,The woman in the service department did not even try to resolve the situation.
