I love this place and love my lady Spring (she knows it!!). Spring has learned me and is gentle with my hands (not yanking me or hitting me when I am not "relaxed", if you know you). I came in today 1.5 hour earlier than my appointment. Angie greeted me as always, so friendly while navigating a busy room. Professional and efficient. She checked to see if the ladies could take me early and they could. Next I HAVE to give Lisa her flowers. So I have been coming here for YEARS and though I am not picky about who does the pedicure service, I want someone that hears me and is gentle. I have ankle and some joint issues and in the past (not necessarily here), I have had people move my feet and ankles in position that are painful because they feel more comfortable if my feet are in a certain position. Then when I have to move it to be comfortable they get upset with me. What I love about Lisa is she is gentle. If I am uncomfortable she tries her best to work with the fact my foot might be tilted a bit and makes it work. She is detailed and listens to the shape and requests I might have. She is so sweet and I love having her do my nails. I know I dont talk much when I am there but I REALLY appreciate the women who do my nails and the care they take. read more

I don't tend to leave negative reviews because I'm really not that picky, but please please read this before booking here. I had been coming to this nail salon for about two years. I'll say this first: they can do pretty finishing work on nails. However, basic manicure care is rarely included unless you specifically ask for it, and even then, sometimes they'd not do it. This last visit was the final straw. Not only did my nails not come out well aesthetically, but the hard gel application was extremely bulky and uneven. Within days, my nails started lifting, chipping, and developing air bubbles. The same day I got them done, I let someone at the front desk know I was unhappy and asked if I could either have them redone or receive a refund. I was told no to both. I eventually went to a private nail tech recommended by a friend, and the removal process alone took FOUR hours because of how much product had been layered on. I also found out they had applied hard gel directly over an old Gel-X set that I had repeatedly asked them to remove, but they never did. Most concerning of all, my right index fingernail had turned partially green because water had gotten trapped between my natural nail and the hard gel, putting me at risk for an infection. Please please please be careful going here. Every appointment always felt rushed, like they were trying to get clients in and out as quickly as possible. I kept returning simply because I didn't want to deal with the hassle of finding a new salon, and I genuinely regret it. After finally seeing a different nail tech, I learned that my cuticles had been severely neglected for a long time, my nail beds had experienced trauma, and even the dryness of my hands likely stemmed from the way my nails had been handled over the years. Again, they can create pretty-looking nails at first glance, but the long-term damage and lack of proper nail care simply aren't worth it. Take care of your hands ladies read more

I was recommended this salon by a friend who books exclusively with Spring (the owner). While her work is solid, I don't think she upholds that same standard across the salon or with the employees she hires. Before booking, I sent in the design I wanted and was recommended to book Layla. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with both her work and her attitude during the appointment. I left with long-term damage to my nails from over-drilling (the worst part), along with very unclean line work, polish on my cuticles and skin, thick and uneven coats, and splotchy airbrush work (I was charged $100 + tip for this). She spent 30 minutes trying to find the right colors and ultimately could only get "close enough." I ended up having to compromise on every single color, and the set was starting to look very incohesive. They continued trying to force colors on me for the rest of the design that weren't a good match instead of acknowledging they didn't have the proper ones. At that point, it was clear the design I wanted wasn't happening. I asked if we could remove it and pick something simpler. Her attitude noticeably shifted as she aggressively filed off the previous work and caused SO MUCH damage to my nail beds. My nails are now tender to the touch in some spots and it will take many months to grow out the damage. The simpler design (which they also said was "easy" and they could do) required airbrushing. The machine wasn't working properly and kept coming out splotchy. She repeatedly asked if it was "okay" before finally attempting to fix and clean the machine. When it came to line work, it was also messy and not crisp. I had to point out multiple areas that needed fixing, which is concerning since those are things a nail tech should be able to catch on their own. There was also areas that were bulky from uneven application of polish which she didn't fix and said was "ok after top coat" . Overall, it felt like she was trying to get away with the lowest level of work that a customer will accept. After the appointment I reached out 3 times over the course of a week to the business phone number and received no response. I eventually contacted Spring directly and heard back a few days later. I was offered $20 "as a gesture," which honestly felt insulting given the damage and overall low quality experience. It seems like they knew I wasn't coming back anyway so there was no point in doing the right thing. Only after I declined (as I would prefer to warn people with an honest review) did she offer $50 which is still below even half my total bill. It doesn't feel fair to charge customers for services when the mark was not met for ALL of them (gel manicure, airbrush, and design) let alone additional nail damage. This experience made it clear where Layla and MOI Nail's quality bar is and how little care is put into making things right. read more

My first time coming to this location for Moi Nails and it was such a great locations Took my mum here for us to get our nails done before my big birthday party Mylee did an amazing job with my gelx and did the design I wanted to a tee. Mimi also did an awesome job with my deluxe pedicure Given that we came on a Sunday, the parking out front was so easy and free. This salon is located Westwood Blvd where there are tons of good food options and 99 Ranch Market (my fave) within walking distance. The salon itself is spacious, clean and they offer complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. The staff is so friendly. Heads up in terms of payment they only accept, cash, Zelle or Venmo. I'll definitely be coming back for my fill with Mylee...can't wait! read more

I really hate having to write this review because I've been to this salon many times and usually have great experiences. For context I go about every 3 weeks. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing and honestly painful and I cannot see myself going back. The technician who did my Gel-X manicure should not be performing nail services at this time. During the service, he aggressively over-trimmed and stripped my cuticles until they were raw. He cut me with the cuticle nippers and didn't even notice that I was bleeding. At one point, he pulled a piece of skin instead of cutting it properly, which caused more bleeding. My cuticles are now incredibly raw and inflamed. He also dropped the gel remover directly onto my finger, and it burned my skin. By the end of the appointment, my hands hurt more than they ever have after a manicure. Day two, my cuticles are incredibly raw, red and inflamed. To top it off, when I went to pay, the credit card machine automatically defaulted to the highest tip option. Under normal circumstances I'm a good tipper, but after that experience, it felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. I'm really disappointed because I've liked this salon for a long time. I hope they this feedback seriously and provides proper training, because no one should leave a manicure in pain. read more

I had a really disappointing experience here. My nail tech, Miley, was unprofessional from the start, she had an attitude throughout the service and was impatient and anytime I gave her feedback it seemed like she just got more irritated. At the beginning, I clearly asked for my cuticles and the sides of my nails to be cleaned up. She mentioned it would be an additional $8, which I agreed to. However, she never did it during the proper prep stage. When I brought it up at the end, she tried to go back and do it after the nails were already finished, which is completely backwards and not how a proper manicure should be done. On top of that, the nail shape came out uneven, and she wasn't able to execute a French tip properly. I ended up settling for a nude base with chrome, but overall I left unhappy with the quality of my nails. It's especially frustrating because I came here based on their Instagram, and the work looked great. I was really hoping to find a quality salon closer to home, but unfortunately this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I do want to note that Lauren, who did my pedicure, was kind and professional, and the nail tech who worked with my 3-year-old daughter was also very sweet. read more

I frequently go to MOI Nails, always leave satisfied, and usually have long-lasting results. I got a gel pedicure by Kass and a full Gel-X set by Helen this past Thursday (05/14). While my Gel-X set has held up beautifully, my gel pedicure unfortunately began peeling just two days later, which has never happened to me before. I was pretty disappointed, especially since my previous pedicures here have always lasted over a month before any peeling, and the service was definitely not inexpensive. Having it begin peeling in less than a week was unexpected. That being said, this will still continue to be my go-to nail salon because the majority of the nail techs truly work with their clients to make sure they leave happy and get what they pay for. I would just recommend being mindful of who performs your service. read more

This was my third time at MOI nails and it was my second time being disappointed. I came in asking for a few designs including a cateye in the shape of a heart and blush base with cateye french tips on hard gel. On the phone, I was told it could be done and when I showed my nail tech she said she could do it. When it came time to execute, she pulled out many different magnetic tools (even one specifically for making hearts) and could not do it. She ended up asking me if there were any other designs I wanted to which I asked if they could do a silver 3D heart by showing a picture of it and once again she said yes and began doing it. She took out the material to do it which was completely solid white when in the picture it was opaque and silver. Basically you can see the pictures showing they don't match sizes and they're crooked and uneven. They're completely solid and painted silver too.. The set would've been better without them but actually the cateye polish is not even making a cateye effect, it's just sparkly... I wanted to leave because at this point I knew I would have to get this fixed. I just wish they could've told me from the beginning it's not something they were capable of doing but now I spent 3 hours and 100$+ on my weekend to have to redo this tomorrow. In addition, my tech was rushed because they sat a girl down next to me who had been waiting for a tech for almost an hour. The front desk guy kept coming to ask my tech if she was done and pressuring her (in Vietnamese, which they didn't know I understood). There were other staff telling my tech when she consulted them that it was fine to continue as long as I wasn't complaining, which means they knew it wasn't satisfactory. I think the service here is ok but the transparency is terrible and the skills of the techs vary. 2/3 times disappointed so I won't be back. read more

I've been coming here regularly for the last year for Gel-X and builder gel, but my last three experiences were bad enough that I have to break up with Moi. Although they're usually able to fit you in, I was frequently left waiting 20-30 minutes past my appointment time while walk-ins were seated before me for the same services I had booked ahead for. My last builder gel set lasted only 4 days before 8/10 nails cracked, flaked, and even split painfully at the base, something I've never experienced before after years of getting my nails done. I've never had a single broken nail. I also had repeated issues trying to use a birthday gift card. First, I was told they couldn't accept it at this location despite my boyfriend confirming ahead of time that they could. On my next visit, after calling again to verify, staff claimed the card "only" had $55 on it even though the sleeve they provided clearly stated $100. I had to call my boyfriend at the front desk and pull up the bank transaction to prove the balance, which was incredibly embarrassing in front of other customers and handled very poorly. My final visit was the worst. The pedicure technician drilled my toenails for nearly 30 minutes until they became painfully thin and red. I had to specifically and repeatedly ask her to stop drilling and use gel remover after buffing off the first layer of gel which is standard for this service. She didn't know what I meant and needed help from other staff members. When she finally applied the remover, she painted it onto my skin, causing intense burning and a white blister began to form. I had to repeatedly ask her to take it off of my skin until I became frantic from the pain and other people had to step in. She also cut my skin multiple times with both the drill and clippers and did not properly sanitize the cuts with alcohol, but instead pressed on the open cuts with her dirty glove covered in nail dust and bacteria. She took over 40 minutes to remove a simple coat of gel polish that I had done at the salon to the point where not only was the water ice cold, but my toes started getting pruney from how long they were sitting in the cold water. The manicure itself was rushed and messy, however despite starting about 20 minutes after my pedicure I had all my builder gel removed with extensions added before my gel pedicure was even off. I left with glue and polish all over my fingers and visible dents in the gel on my toes, with cuts and chemical burns . For $137 total, the quality, professionalism, and customer service were completely unacceptable. I've never had such a poor experience at any salon, especially after being a loyal customer for over a year. read more

My gel manicure was fine.. cracked and chipped pretty fast (under 10 days) but when I got a pedicure, someone named "Lani" or "Lonnie" got the gel remover all over my toes and I haven't ever felt so much pain. My toes blew up and my skin felt like it was sizzling the entire time. She also tried to gaslight me into thinking my pedicure was done while it was peeling across the nail lol. Nobody in management seemed to care when I checked out, they still charged me for the pedicure which was insane. I really wanted to have a good experience here. read more

I had an unpleasant experience here. I made an appointment online, arrived early, was given a wheel of gel colors to choose from - the wheel was dirty and many of the nail colors had fallen off. A woman came to do my pedicure and started rushing through it, stabbing me twice with a tool causing my toes to bleed. I asked her several times to be more careful and slow down. She seemed very inexperienced and just stared at me and continued to poke at me like she couldn't tell the difference between my nails and the skin around my nails. Finally I asked her to please stop. I asked the receptionist if anyone else was available and explained why. She said that the lady working on the person next to me would be ready in 2 minutes. Fifteen minutes later, I was just still sitting there. Finally I got up and said I was leaving. At this point, they sent over a person to do my pedicure and to do my manicure. The man who did my nails was very nice by he really sanded down my nails too much and my nails are now weak. He left dust trapped in the gel which I can see. My nails are not growing out well and look uneven. I spent about $120 for a really inferior job and I wouldn't go back. read more

DO NOT GO HERE, by far the worst experience I've had at a nail salon. I called ahead and booked an appointment (to which i assumed would make sure I had little to no wait maybe max 15-20 minutes). I was immediately checked in and seated, but waited almost AN HOUR just to be attended. Throughout the day there were multiple other customers that were seated but grew similarly impatient after not being attended for so long. Why not just respectfully let people know you overbooked appointments and the wait would be an hour so they can decide whether or not they want to wait or go somewhere else. When I was finally assisted, I got a nail tech named Miley. She was sweet but right off the bat I could tell she was rushing the entire process. She drilled my nails so roughly and harshly (even after I asked if she could be gentle since my nail beds were sensitive) and then she cut me , not once but TWICE. I even asked if she could maybe put some wound gel to help the burning. She did not. Then if you look at the pictures the nails are all crooked, placed in different positions. I told her the nails were crooked, and all she did was gently file the top ( hinting there wasn't much else she could do.) Then the cherry on top of everything, the price for this average medium french tip, where she cut me twice? $105!!! With pedicure, $157 ! INSANITY, the only reason I didn't argue was because they had a full house and I didn't want to cause a scene. But no grace discount for the outrageous wait time or the crooked nails, or even the literal bleeding on my cuticles ? This is what I should have expected when going to a nail salon that was on yelp's "sponsored" suggestions. Take my advice and go somewhere else. read more

Moving back to the west side this year, I was SO excited to be closer to my home nail salon, MOI Nails Studio. Then, I learned that Spring opened her own salon in WESTWOOD, which is even closer to my new apartment! The MOI standard is upheld here: fair prices, talented and gracious nail technicians, and a clean salon with a great ambiance. Elly, IS THE ABSOLUTE BESTTT! Seriously the best nail tech I have ever had (I've lived in 3 diff states, so I have had a few!). She always takes her time and helps me decide on designs, colors, etc. for my hard gel overlay sets (THESE ARE MY NATURAL NAILS!!). I am a bit particular about shape, & if they aren't how I like them I let her know and she always fixes it in the moment. In the last 6 months that I have been seeing her, I have had ONE nail on ONE set CHIP. Not even a break. She is amazing! Everytime I'm here, literally every chair in the salon is full, which is not a coincidence. These techs do amazing work for fair prices, which is why they are so loved! read more

Elly review: Elly is really incredible with taking any design I show her and replicating it perfectly! I live in San Diego but drive up to LA just to see her. She's so sweet and nice every time I ask her to adjust something or modify even slightly, and will take her time to make sure I'm happy. I never feel rushed. Also she has the best ideas and often times makes the design idea I came in with even better with her suggestions. I recommend everyone to her! Helen review: Helen is so sweet and amazing at designs! She makes sure I'm 100% happy with what I walk out with. Every design I ask, she executes so well! I can't say enough nice things about her especially because she's so nice. Wait time is way too long to the point where it's just not worth it to book here. My regular salon is always on time, while here I had to wait 20+ minutes for my appointment. The service (hard gel fills) is overall pretty average, but you can definitely go somewhere with better service and time management. I had a finger with uneven hard gel application, but don't want to waste more time coming back here to fix it. Normalize not waiting more than 5 minutes or at max 10 past your appointment time. It's an appointment for a reason, and you should not give out a time if there is a good chance staff won't be able to finish by that time. Or at least respect the client and give them a call to notify them of delays to give them a fair chance to cancel. It's a lose lose for the client and the nail tech. With the tons of nail salons around, there's no reason to come back. read more

1000% Hands down BEST Nail Salon Ever! Love how client oriented, efficient, and accommodating all of the staff are. I'll start off first when I came in for a pedicure, they told me they didn't do designs for the toes. But the manager and artists went out of their way to still do the prettiest flower design. I got Lisa for the deluxe pedicure and she took such great care of me. She was so so kind and had the most absolute sweetest smile. The service and quality was so great I had to come again. Now my girl.... MIA (who did the flower design on my toe) did me SO GOOD, I just had to come again for my the gel x set I wanted for my Hawaii trip. Can I just say she was just amazing. It came out so flawless, I genuinely think its the most beautiful set I've ever gotten done. I showed her so many different nail design inspo pics from different sets and asked for a lot of specific details, and she nailed it! Despite the pressure of having one of her other clients booked after me and giving her so many requests, she was nonetheless patient and executed everything perfectly.
