This review is a little overdue. I found laule'a more than 2 years ago by searching specifically for a Japanese nail salon. Most gel nail places are way too harsh in your nails, and I was looking for a more non-toxic approach. I am not a fan of the soak off removal approach, as my nails become brittle. I was also looking for a salon that didn't do acrylics because of the smell because I was pregnant then. I am happy to say I am a regular, both Kazumi and Aiko are wonderful. My nails have never been healthier and I often get people commenting on the designs. They are super fast and do such great designs, anything you can think of or if you have examples they are very skilled. Their prices are very reasonable for the west side for the quality you get. There is also a small parking lot that's free, another positive for WLA. The inside is super cute and clean, Kazumi has many cute plants and crystals, you will feel relaxed. read more

I honestly really wanted to like this place. Kazumi is truly an artist in her nail designs. That was why I took a chance and tried her salon before my wedding. The way she works is very zen-like. She keeps her tools very neatly in one place, she is very resourceful, she is very quiet and smooth with her movements. She took extra time to make sure my nail art was good as it can be. The reason why I give 3 stars is because although she is very talented, she lacks in basic nail skills. Initially I was very happy with my white ombré nails but I noticed my cuticles weren't as smooth as they typically would have been if I had gone to my usual spot. I remember noticing that my cuticles weren't cut and Kazumi told me that cutting cuticles would dry them out more. Sadly, as the day went on I was stressing out and the next day I had to get my cuticles fixed right before of my wedding at another salon. The technician actually told me that my nails "looked terrible." I am sure Kazumi gives great work to other clients, but I was disappointed and I don't know if I will come back. My cuticles aren't always in the best shape (I'm a healthcare worker) but I expect at least they would've been cleaned up better considering the $50+ I spent and the fact that my nails were going to be photographed up close for my wedding. read more

I've had nails here done by Kazumi and by Aiko and facials and massage done by Eriko. All of them did a wonderful job and were kind, pleasant, and have a very relaxing, soothing demeanor. They are very conscientious about keeping everything clean so you can have total confidence here. Very high quality materials and attention to process. They do take longer than a typical mani/pedi will, because they are so thorough. Expect an hour for each. This place books up very fast, so if you're a last-minute type of person you will have difficulty scheduling an appointment. Book ahead! read more

I'm torn on this review because while I enjoyed the experience for the most part, I'm not 100% satisfied with my nails which is a bummer after spending $160+ Pros: + clean + quiet + honors appointment times, no waiting around when you arrive Cons: - my appointment for a pedicure and gel extension full was 3.5 hours long. I'm used to being in and out in 1.5 - 2 hours so this seems like the place to come when you want to relax and have cleared your afternoon to get your nails done. - confusion around nails; I wanted a fill on my gelx but I was told they couldn't do that so I decided I'd just get a new set. She began filing and I noticed that she cut down two of my nails. At other salons I've been to they usually ask if I want my nails cut down given I've been growing them out for a while and they're pretty long. After the confusion and consulting with the other woman in the shop (I believe she's the owner) my nail tech was able to fill my nails without cutting the others but she didn't clean up the shape so they're not as neat as I prefer. The bottom line: I came in for a nice holiday set and thought it would be pretty simple to do. The nail tech didn't say she was unable to do the design so I figured all was good. As she was doing my nails I noticed they didn't look exactly like the photo but I chose to give her the benefit of the doubt and wait for the final product. Ultimately, I'm not satisfied with the lines in my nail design. My nails look OK from a distance but up close I feel like they look like I did them at home and that's not the quality I was expecting. Because my appt was so long, I had to leave immediately when she was done and I couldn't ask her to fix the design. I'd already spent close to 4 hours there and couldn't afford to spend more time there so I chose to take the loss. I'd like to come back but will probably go with a solid color or a design from their page so I know they can do it. read more

Kazumi & Aiko have both done my nails- I've tried gel with nail art AND regular nail polish and I looove how long the nail polish lasts. It had been a while since I did my nails at a salon (cos I've had horror experiences in the past) and I trust to go here for my nail needs from now on!! I went to do my first lash lift today and I think it went really well. I really loved how Reiko (I hope I spelled her name right) was so friendly when I walked in, and how she explained all the steps of the lift throughout the entire experience. I was a little nervous but the spa had a really warm feel and everyone was really friendly. I definitely want to come back to check out other services like facials. They offer nails and long term eyelash services as well. A plus is a large parking lot and at the time of my appointment, weekday morning, there was plenty of parking. Aiko's work on my french nails with magnetic tips and white ombre (for my wedding!) were outstanding. She was very attentive in strengthening my nails where they were chippied or dented using extra gel, and the designs looked perfectly symmetrical. Despite the multiple layers of gel applied to complete the look, the finish wasn't bulky at all. They lasted perfectly with no chipping/peeling for over 1m. Such a lovely and well organized place! I had a design idea that I wasn't sure would work out but she nailed it (pun intended). She had a ton of designs and decals to choose from so I was able to get some cute little cats on my nails. Was very reasonably priced for a gel mani + design - the base prices are listed right at the entrance and on the website, very transparent which I appreciate. I tend to be picky for shaping and design but she always gets me what I'm hoping for. Giving a few stars because the owner was a nice lady but would honestly rate 1 star for quality and value. I got a gel manicure because a sign said "$40 gel manicure" and I assumed that was a regular manicure including cuticle cut, etc plus gel nail polish. She didn't soak my nails or cut my cuticles, she gave a "dry manicure" basically running the buffer machine over my nails and cuticles, kinda pointless. She didn't even clean the dirt from under my nails! Legit just painted over it, I couldn't believe it. The gel paint is not your normal gel polish and I honestly would've preferred that after seeing the results. There are parts of my nails missing paint coverage and I just felt like I got an expensive polish change. She ended up charging me FIFTY dollars and when she spun the POS system around it was set to the "tip" page as she watched me so you feel pressured to tip even though I brought up the fact it said the manicure was $40 on her sign, she said that's only for clear paint. Not much sense but lesson learned, will not return but wanted to share my experience so others can make their own educated decision. read more

Not only do my extensions always look extremely natural, but her gentle and careful touch has me falling asleep during every application (best nap ever). She carefully applies each lash while choosing the appropriate widths, lengths, and combinations to assure whatever I desire whether it be volume, curl, or dramatic effect. She also has top-of-the-line lashes and glue and constantly updates her inventory with the newest and best quality supplies. Needless to say I'm a spoiled lifer. I would like to share my experience in here because I was very satisfied with their service and treatment. They just opened the spa few weeks ago(which means new!), and inside of the spa is very clean and organized. It was my first time to do the eyelash extensions and I didn't know what kind of style suits me, so I was quite worried about it. However, they did a careful counseling for my eye and eyelash conditions before the treatment which really helped me knowing about my eyelash and finding out best style for my eyelash extension! During the two hours treatment, I could relax and feel comfortable without any issues. I almost fall asleep! Eriko who did my eyelash extension was professional and very friendly:) The way she does the treatment is extremely detailed and she thorough in everything she does for the treatment.
