Ok, I've waited a while before writing this review. I'm gave Poppy Nails a few tries before giving my honest feedback. I'm happy to report that each visit left me satisfied and pleased with the results. I first heard about Poppy Nails from a friend who was raving about them and the Russian manicure they offer. My first two appointments were with Anna. I did Gel X for the first time after years of doing regular gel nails. I absolutely loved Gel nail extensions and kept getting them done with Olga and Anastasia. They all can do any design or nail art. I also got a pedicure here once and had a good experience. Poppy Nails is now my regular nail salon. Parking: metered street parking for only 1 hour max, or free parking in the streets in the back, just read the parking signs. Pricing: It's well known that Russian manicurists charge a bit more than at other places, but it's honestly worth it. I paid around $135-$140 for Gel-X (Gel-X usually is more expensive than regular gel nails), including take-off, designs, and chrome. The atmosphere is quiet, calm, and relaxed. Clean and not too fancy.

Love coming here! The attention to detail is incredible and I always leave feeling happy with how my nails turned out. The last few times I've gone, I got the gel manicure, which lasted a good time period! The nail techs here are super sweet & amazing as they pay close attention to each nail. The shape of my nail is always spot on perfection! Clean and cute vibe with calming music. They offer beverages which is such a sweet detail, I've had tea and champagne and both help me get into that self care mindset. There's limited meter street parking or free parking in the neighborhood if you don't mind a short walk.

I was a little hesitant coming when i saw the regular manicure was $45 but i came with a friend who decided to give it a try and i was pleasantly surprised. The cuticle care i received was great and definitely some of the best I've gotten in LA to be honest. There was parking in the neighborhood so it wasn't too difficult but a bit of a walk. As someone who typically gets a gel manicure and pedicure monthly, I enjoyed it but don't know if i would make it a monthly transaction here price wise but still waiting to see how long it lasts and will update! If it lasts me a couple of weeks then I'd definitely consider!

This was my go-to nail salon since a few years ago, and always found the nail techs to be nice and very skilled. Last month, I got pink magnetic cat eye nails done and it was my absolute favorite. I returned today for a basic gel mani, but came out with all 10 of my fingers red and bleeding. Firstly, I made an appointment online for 6:30 today, but they called me and asked if they can move it to 7. I moved to a 7:15pm spot. When I arrived, they had me wait another 10 minutes. When my nail tech started working on my cuticles, I noticed how rough she was trimming them and kept making cuts to my skin. I pointed the bleeding to her a few times but she did not once apologize and would just smile and wipe the bleeding with cloth, but it was clearly not stopping. She also had AirPods in and I think she was watching something on her phone in the cart the entire time. I explained situation to the person at the front desk and she offered $10 off. She then saw how bad my fingers were so she put more ointment and offered $20 off. She took pictures and said she was going to inform the owner. I still paid $50 to get all of my cuticles cut up and come out with red, bleeding fingers. It's the first time something like this has happened to me at a nail salon, and I'm even more disappointed because this was the place I thought was the most reliable. I was willing to pay extra to come here because of their quality. I'm not sure if I want to return again because I don't want this happening again. UPDATE: They followed up on this post and gave me a full refund and asked me to consider removing this review.

Nails done by Elizabeth :) amazing!

Elizabeth is so talented She turns any shape / condition nails to amazingly sophisticated art. I can't thank her enough! Her work is so magical!!

I think this may have been the worst and most expensive gel manicure I've ever received. I want to start by saying the staff was very kind. When I walked in, they greeted me warmly and everyone there seemed friendly. Unfortunately, the quality of the service did not match the price. For reference, I came in to have builder gel removed, shorten my nails, and get a neutral gel polish. Normally, when you come in with builder gel and request a regular gel manicure, the builder gel is either soaked off or completely removed unless the client specifically asks to keep it. That was my expectation when I came in. When the technician began working on my nails, she immediately used the e-file to shorten them while the builder gel was still on. It felt a bit uncontrolled and unusual since the product hadn't been properly removed yet. She then began cutting my cuticles while the builder gel was still on my nails. After finishing my cuticles, she was about to apply nail dehydrator without buffing my nails or removing the remaining builder gel. At that point, I stopped her and asked when the builder gel would be removed. Two of my nails already had it fully removed because I had taken it off myself beforehand, so the remaining builder gel was sitting unevenly from the filing that had already been done. She told me it was better to leave the builder gel on my nails, but I explained that I didn't want that because I was concerned my nails would end up uneven or bulky. She seemed pretty set on leaving it, and I didn't want to go back and forth, but at that point I had a feeling my nails weren't going to turn out great. When she began applying the gel base, my nails still hadn't been properly cleaned. The only area that had really been cleaned were my cuticles, the undersides of my nails and the sidewalls were never cleaned out. She applied only one coat of color and then went straight into the top coat. I actually thought she was applying a second coat of color until I realized it was already the top coat. When I looked at my nails, they were uneven and some were noticeably thicker than others. I pointed out one nail that was especially bulky, and when she tried to fix it she used the drill on my natural nail instead of just filing the polish down. At that point, I was honestly just ready to leave. The technician herself was nice, and I don't think there was any bad intention...but if a salon is charging higher-end prices, the quality of the service should reflect that. I paid $70 for this gel manicure. I don't mind paying that much when the work is high quality, but unfortunately this experience was disappointing overall. Sadly, I don't plan on returning

I've been going to Poppy Nails for two years now and I'm always beyond happy with the results! I highly recommend Anastasia - she works very delicately and pays attention to every detail making sure each nail is perfect. My nails come out flawless every time and they last a whole month. Anastasia is also amazing at nail designs of any complexity.

Smudged toes due to flaw in painting

Update: After my initial review, the manager reached out and offered to redo my pedicure at no cost. I went back, and had a different nail technician( Rashaun), who did a good job and the front staff expressed genuine remorse, which I appreciated. While my first experience was frustrating and poorly handled, I'm grateful they ultimately corrected the service. Initial review below: I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience needs to be shared. I went in for a $75 spa pedicure and tipped an additional $24 (well over 20%) because I initially wanted to show my appreciation. Within just 4-5 hours of leaving the salon, after nothing more than a short neighborhood walk, four of my toenails smudged badly. This wasn't due to "wearing socks" as the salon later claimed -- it was clearly because the technician ( Kamilia) applied an extra coat without allowing proper drying time between them. I immediately tried to resolve this. I called the salon multiple times around 8:30pm and even drove there after being told they were open until 9pm, only to find them closed. When I reached out again, I was told they don't guarantee regular polish and that I'd have to return almost immediately to fix it, otherwise they would refuse to help. This was not communicated at the time of service, and polish should last more than a few hours for a pedicure of this cost. After much back-and-forth, they reluctantly agreed to an appointment. Because I had gone out of town for the holiday weekend, I put a clear glitter coat over the smudged toes just to hide their mistake temporarily. When I returned, the salon told me they would only repaint two nails on each foot and leave the others as-is with the glitter -- unless I paid them an additional $20 to remove it all and repaint properly. In other words, they expected me to pay more to fix the flawed work I had already paid for. That kind of logic is absurd. Out of frustration with their unethical behavior and lack of communication, I walked out, with two toes now unpainted entirely. This is beyond disappointing. Instead of taking responsibility, they tried to nickel-and-dime and shift blame. For a business that charges premium prices, the lack of accountability and customer service is unacceptable. I've included photos here so that others can see the results of their so-called "spa pedicure." A $75 pedicure should not be smudging in under 5 hours, and no customer should be asked to pay again to fix mistakes caused by the technician. I will not be returning, and I urge others to avoid this salon.

This review is specifically for Sara. I've been going to this salon & seeing Sara for months now for Russian dry manicure hard gels - highly recommend! She does a great job, every time, is super sweet and also pretty quick! I find the pricing here reasonable for hard gel especially in comparison to other salons in the area. Go see Sara!

Go to Olga! This is my second time at Poppy nails, and I cannot recommend them enough. Olga did an incredible job on my gel X manicure. She put a lot of work in time into not only cleaning up my nails, but making sure that she painted them perfectly. Not only was Olga great, but so was the salon. They are very responsive on the phone, they offer you beverages when you arrive, and always have something great on the TV. I find their pricing to be very reasonable as well. Highly recommend!

The first very nice woman clearly had zero clue how to do dip glitter (which I explained at the front exactly what I was wanting to do, which I have done here before). Cut to two hours later this woman (not her fault, she didn't have the right experience and also couldn't understand what I was saying) had taken a very, very long time to do a semi-simple job. The lovely man who took over for her and completely erased everything she did for two hours was their normal efficiency. But because they didn't have the time, the job is completely botched. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful he did it, but I also did not want to be sitting there for 3.5 hours for something that would have taken the second man 1 hour to do. It's been 3 hours and my nails are peeling. If you can't do something, then don't say you'll do it. Worse yet, if someone spends two hours literally ruining a customers nails - the next person who does it better have the time to fix it correctly, and you should be mindful to make sure it's done correctly. Or say come back some other time? I'm not sure. But what I'm sure of is today was a complete waste of my day, time, probably theirs as well, and I paid full price and got a very poor result. Been coming here for years and not sure I will come back. I adore the guy who jumped and fervently "fixed" a very poor job... but he also very clearly didn't finish it well. And I wasn't happy about sitting through watching the botched job either, so it was never a favor For reference - the mint is what I left with today after 3.5 hours, which is now peeling. And not sparkling. And not properly sealed because the second time around was insanely rushed. The pink/blue/purple was the same glitter in March. Took one of their artists 1 hour at most, stayed for weeks, and wasn't $90. Inconsistent.
