A Virtual Pedicure Experience Virtual reality was fun, but ouch--I jammed my toe during a session, leaving my nail bed bruised! I came in for a much-needed pedicure and called Laura's Nails at 3 PM, hoping for a quick fix. Unfortunately, my regular manicurist was on vacation, but they were able to squeeze me in for a 4 PM appointment, which was a pleasant surprise. The service was quick yet thorough. I was done in 30 minutes! Despite the bruised toe, they were gentle and careful throughout the process. The pedicure included a refreshing scrub and a relaxing massage, which left my feet feeling rejuvenated and ready to go. Oh, and the massage chair is on free of charge as you sit getting your manicure--it's a dream! It's definitely an in-and-out experience without compromising quality. And to top it all off, the lovely lady doing my pedicure, Lilly, even paints the tips! She's such a little angel, going above and beyond to ensure every detail is perfect. If you wanted to book her, Lilly is amazing! It's these small, thoughtful touches that really set Laura's Nails apart from the rest. And to close--they take Venmo. I really wanted to give 5 stars since both ladies were very nice. But out of all the gel nail polish I had over the last 20 years, this has been the worst one. Not even a week, and not only the nail polish came off my nail broke, too. I usually get regular polish, but this time, I decided on gel polish. Came in assuming they were skilled in builder gel but quickly came to the realization that they were barely beginners. They filed down my nails in an attempt to remove the previous coat of builder gel but were hitting my actual nail bed. When it came time to reapply the builder gel, they only used one small coat of builder gel. If you've done this service before, you know that is wrong. It usually takes 3 coats or 1 1/2 heft coat. My nails are bumpy and have divots. This does not feel like professional work. I will not be coming back here ever again. Not worth the $7 I saved switching salons read more

This is some of the worst nail work I've had, I left almost in tears. I have a wedding to go to tomorrow and I have no time to get these fixed. The ladies were very nice however the nail tech was very pushy on me not getting long nails and insisted on this color. I did kindly let her know the work was very inconsistent so lightly filed two random nails for 2 seconds and the other nail lady told me to give her my credit card to pay. The pedicure came out meh but she cut my nails very crooked and there's polish missing on half my toe! Not to mention the nail techs told me to stop eating junk food because of my acne which is such a terrible thing to tell somebody especially when it's no caused from that. Overall I would not recommend coming here simply for the messy work. read more

I called and asked if they did designs and they said it was not a problem they do a lot of designs. I brought them a photo of what I thought was a simple design especially for someone who said they can do them. The woman complained as she was doing them that I picked a complicated design and when I asked if she could do another coat because the lines were very light and looked terrible, she said she should charge me for that, I gave her a look like, "are we making jokes? Because I hope that's a joke" then she laughed and said she was kidding. I asked her to please cut my cuticles and clean my nails and she just replied "later" and never dudShe continued to make remarks like, "you should have gone to a place that does designs for younger people" uhhhh what the F? Anyway, nails turned out awful and had to go to another place immediately after to have them fix what this woman did. read more

We no longer live in Santa Monica but still make the trek AAAALLLLLL the way to the west side every other weekend because that's how great this place is. They always do a fantastic job, the staff is so sweet and welcoming, they've become more like family over the years. The ladies are super friendly. This is a no frills or fuss kind of place. Pop in and out, my mani and pedi done in just 45 minutes. It's super cheap too $23 for a pedi and I did the buff for my mani $28. So with prices like that well maybe not a surprise that none of the ladies wore gloves. I'm 90% sure the tools got through mininal if any disinfection between clients. Thats right no blue sealed UV bags over here. Expect the shortest ever dip in the water for your pedi, no fancy soaking stuff, no fancy callus removal...park that expectation at home. They do an adequate job for the price and do it all with a lovely smile. In a bind I'll be back but no hurry to make it my go to regular spot. read more
