Stopped by this little nail salon since it was just down the street from my apartment and highly recommended by my roommate, and I definitely think this will be my go-to spot for nail services in the future! I walked in to get a gel x set removal, and they were able to get me seated and taken care of immediately on a busy Friday afternoon, which I really appreciated. The set was done somewhere else and most of the nails had fallen off, but the nail tech was still willing to take care of it, and insisted on not charging me their very reasonable $10 removal fee or accepting any tip for the service, which was so sweet and unexpected! She very gently and efficiently removed my remaining extensions, and meticulously trimmed, filed and buffed my natural nails before applying cuticle oil, and I can definitely tell that the techs are very experienced while prioritizing customer comfort. This spot is such a hidden gem (and my roommate has had good experiences with walk-in's/getting removals and gel x extensions here), and I'll definitely be back again soon to support such a sweet, Asian and woman-owned business! read more

Really disappointing experience. I called about a nail that broke after my manicure here and was told to come in right away to have it fixed. I've now been waiting 45 minutes. I explained multiple times that I have plans this evening and asked when I would be helped. Each time, I was reassured that the next available person would take me. Meanwhile, multiple new paying customers who walked in after me, without appointments, have been taken before me. I specifically asked for clarification about this and was again reassured I would be next, yet I am still sitting here waiting. If you tell a customer to come in right away to fix a nail that broke after your own manicure, you should honor that especially rather than repeatedly prioritizing new paying customers who arrived later. I won't be returning. The communication and way this was handled felt dishonest and extremely disrespectful of my time. read more

I have had a gel manicure still look great and intact 3-4 weeks after. We love all their work. I'd been trying to come back & knew it was on Santa Monica Blvd but kept coming to the wrong place. I finally realized that the reason was that I was filtering "4 star & up" nail salons on Yelp, so that's why this location wasn't showing. However, I wouldn't give it four stars for several reasons. Dip powder manicure + $15 neck massage was $50 before tip - Colours are exactly like how they appear in the book - wide range of colours - amaaaaaazing neck massage, $15 for 15 mins. Much needed! - Suited for walk-ins - did not use UV light for dip powder (dried manually, 10 mins) Dislikes - not very aesthetic inside, messy - I called asking if I could come in at 4, the lady said yes. I waited in the chair (I was only getting a dip powder manicure) for exactly 30 mins before a technician started w me. I wish she had told me over the phone that there was a wait. I was under the impression I was making an appt. I've been seeing Aly for more than a year now and she's been great so can't say anything bad about her. My horrible experience was with the old man who sometimes seats at the front. I came in on a Monday to get my hard gel nail fixed (it peeled off from the bottom). He saw me and was so rough with my nail, he broke it in half and never said sorry or anything just tried to glued back like nothing. My hand was numb after seeing him and my nail hurt for days. He charged me $10 for this and it came off a week later!! I texted today asking how much they would charge to remove the hard gel (that was done just on 9/13) since the nail he "fixed" came off and they responded $15. Are you kidding me!? This will be my last visit. After 3 consecutive gel manicures that have chipped after 1 week.... I'm finally yelping this place and not coming back. They raised their prices so you would think quality would be the same as before, if not better. But since this fall, I've come in for back-to-back-to-back gel manicures; I have been so unsatisfied, but I still wanted to give them a chance. I've been getting gel manicures for almost 15 years, I know how it works. This is the first time I've ever had them chip - 3x in a row, with three different colors. After what happened on the previous to this visit, I asked the lady doing my nails to do a second coat of the topcoat; she asked the owner who said "no". They've become so stingy. They used to do 2 coats before but I noticed with these 3 last visits they hadn't. So now they've RAISED their prices, doing THINNER coats, with one layer of the topcoat - of course my manicure will start to chip after several days with it becoming more noticeable on day 7. I'm really disappointed. I paid for something that literally lasted several days when it could still be so nice for up to two weeks. The second time it chipped, I had to cut my nails shorter so it wouldn't be so noticeable because I couldn't go back to get my nails done due to my work schedule. The fact that I had to trim all my nails down just to accommodate the two chips. Terrible. I didn't yelp when there was a nasty young lady who did my manicure and nicked my skin which caused me to bleed after I asked her to be careful. I will never forget: she actually had the audacity to be mad at ME! She became very rough with her care and how she filed my nails, etc. She was clearly upset. The nerve. I didn't yelp that experience, I figured, I'll just avoid her which I have all this time. She was rude and very rough. It's like they get offended when you respectfully ask them to "be careful because I'm diabetic". I deserve to be treated with respect and care. I'm paying you. This is not free, this is not a favor. But, most of them are like that. Entitled and angry. Then they'll start talking about you in their language. Just disrespectful. I wanted to overlook all of that for a decent gel manicure. But, I just can't anymore after I was told NO for a second topcoat. And sure enough, without it, my gel lacked shine after several days and started to chip. Again, thinner and thinner layers will do this. You don't want thick layers either, that will cause the gel to peel or bubble...BUT not too thin either that regular everyday activities will cause them to thin even more and eventually chip. New customers, please avoid this place. Ohhhhh, now I understand why an angry customer came in demanding a REDO on her gel because that chipped after a couple of days. She was from out of state and absolutely livid. They had the nerve to suggest to her that they probably chipped from her using her laptop....like from TYPING!!!! What on earth?! A friend recommended Sensation Nails a few months ago and I came for a manicure which lasted a month!!! So I had to come back for another before a long trip. I called in the morning and arrived around 10:30 for a mani/pedi. Glad I came early because by 11:15 they were getting busy with walk-ins. Lisa did my gel manicure. She was so sweet and friendly; I'll definitely be asking for her next time I come back. They have a large variety of colors to chose from and offer other services like neck massage and waxing. I used to go to this nail salon for about 11 years, it was close to my home and it was convenient and they did a pretty good job, it was mostly family members that worked in the salon and Cindy did my nails. However, as time went by the family members moved on and Cindy the owner, although she likes to lie and say she's not the owner, hired new people and these people were very rude and negative and didn't really speak English. When Cindy's niece moved, the quality of the pedicures, went down greatly to the point I stopped getting pedicures. Also, as the years went by, the salon became dirtier and dirtier, gone with the days where every morning they would be cleaning because I suppose cleaning was too low for the employees to do since they weren't family members. Cindy was always very money motivated, and I always gave her a good tip, but in the end that didn't make a difference because she became very greedy and very negative, she started doing the thing where she wants an extra five dollars for this and an extra two dollars for that, tell me in what world does it take two extra dollars just because you're using glitter nail polish on two nails instead of matte nail polish? But this was Cindy's new policy and of course if you have long nails, which really aren't long they're more like medium, but this nail salon will say oh they're long and so they will charge you an extra five dollars .Cindy will make Up stuff to get an extra buck out of you. I found another salon to go to that is $20 less than Cindy was charging me, plus I only have to go every three weeks instead of every two weeks, big savings and I was having a lot of broken nails with Cindy, nails that would lift up and fall off so financially I am saving quite a bit and the new salon is very clean and the new salon is very positive energy and makes me feel much more comfortable. Not to mention my nails look more natural. I wouldn't suggest going to sensation nail for anyone because I find them to be very unscrupulous, they don't care about their long-term customers, they gossip about customers in a foreign language, and they're going to charge you an extra five dollars for this and an extra three dollars for that and then if you don't leave them a huge tip that they won't appreciate anyway then they'll complain about it in a foreign language. I say stay away from them, I wished I didn't give them my business for 10 years and my $20 tips. The bathroom is really gross, they don't have it disability assessable. The toilet paper is paper, thin like the cheapest toilet paper in the universe and it's always dirty. read more

I came here on my lunch. They had peaceful music playing and I got sat with Ruby for a full gel x set. It was $60. She did such a wonderful job and was extra careful because I told her another shop had cut me multiple times last week. She was efficient and had two UV light machines for each of my hands and worked very quickly. I also was able to talk to her because she speaks English!! Then, she oiled my cuticles and I went to the bathroom to wash my hands. They have a complementary sugar scrub for customers!! My hands turned out so soft.
