Great experience. My wedding band was too tight and I was worried that it might not be able to be sized due to the diamonds. They were able to size it within 30 minutes for an amazing price! They also re-rhodium plated it and cleaned it so it looked new. Be prepared. It's not an impressive shop and might make you a little leary. I visited this place based on the reviews. It's in a nondescript strip mall across from a Sonic. Lots of parking. The interior of the store has a large U shaped counter with not much floor space for customers. I needed to have two watch batteries replaced, so I wasn't looking for anything fancy. The man behind the counter was working in the back when I walked in, but came to help pretty quickly. I think he may have been the owner/jeweler. I asked for the price of a watch battery replacement and was quoted $8 each which is less than some others have paid. (UPDATE: According to the website, battery replacement starts at $8, so it must depend on the type of watch.) He told me it would be about 10-15 minutes; I waited outside in my car because the shop was a little warm and the metal folding chairs did not look very comfortable. Prices were good and service was fast. I'm happy with the experience and plan to come back to replace other batteries. read more

I brought in my watch that had a broken link. The broken link was a special situation as there was no way to remove or insert a pin like a typical resizing link. I had been told by the actual customer service for my watch brand that it was impossible to fix, and would require a significant amount to replace the band. That brought me to Z & M Jewelry Repair, where they were able to fix it in a day (even though they estimated it being ready by Monday, so this was a great surprise!). I took my wedding ring set in recently to have it cleaned and have a piece of the smaller band reshaped and resized. The resizing was done nearly perfectly. (It was a very thin band and if you look really closely you can kind of see where the work had been done). I was disappointed with the appearance of the larger ring after it was cleaned. When I got to the car, I noticed brownish spots all over the ring. I took it right back in and he cleaned it again and it was much better. If I look close enough, I can still slightly see these spots, but I don't feel like I can blame the jeweler entirely. In my line of work, I have worked with a lot of chemicals and it could have been something I exposed the ring to in the past that caused the reaction. Also, I believe another jeweler I took it to in California did a platinum coating on the ring and when he cleaned it, I think he just buffed off that coating. Overall, the price was very good for the amount of work I had done and he was very speedy. Only took about an hour. Not sure if I would take valuable pieces back to be worked on, but for resizing and other minor repairs, I would recommend this place. read more

Was looking for a jeweler in Round Rock to fix a prong on my wedding ring and have it "redipped". Looked at all of the Yelp reviews and every single one of the reviews for Z & M jewelers was amazing. I looked at several other reviews in cedar park and Austin, none compared to this jeweler. Walked in, it's a very small shop, but jeweler was on site. I was quoted $50+tax for the repair and rhodium. I took a new bracelet in to have a link removed. The work was completed on the spot and I was charged $10. So far, so good... When I got home I realized that there were two links that I could actually take out myself in seconds, meaning the link Z&M took out just snapped off in a second with no pin work required. So, what should have happened at a good business is that I should have been told "Hey, you can just snap a link off yourself. I should not have been charged $10. Normally I have no issues with Z&M. Brought in a family heirloom ring to be resized. The band is thick 14k white gold, I needed it sized down a couple sizes and my ring was ready to pick up the next day! There is a small slightly imperfect area at the bottom of the band where you can definitely see it has been resized, I'm not bothered, but if you are very picky about smoothness you could possibly be upset.
