Growing up this was my favorite restaurant and the Cuban restaurant that resembles my grandmas cooking the most. The enchilada de camaron was and still is my favorite. I hadn't been in years and I wanted Cuban food so we came Sunday afternoon to satisfy my craving. We started with the fritura de malanga. Definitely not what I was used to eating growing up, so it was disappointing when we got it, but the taste was good. Also had the ensalada de aguacate. Avocado was great and enough for three people to share. My mom had the arroz con pollo à la chorrera. This was huge!!! Definitely enough for two people to eat. I had the enchilada de camaron and it was just like I remember it from my childhood. So flavorful and a big portion of shrimps. There's parking behind the restaurant but the spaces are a little tight. The inside is spacious with lots of seating and great for large parties. Everything was great except for the service. He was not attentive whatsoever, was just standing around talking to the other waiters instead of checking on our table. We had to call him over a few times for things we needed because he would not pass by our table unless we called him over. This is a great restaurant for Cuban food and I always recommend it to people. It's a shame the customer service is lacking.

THE MOROOOO! If I could submit a review with two words it would be that! I have never tasted anything like their Moro unless it was in Abuela's kitchen. My party and I agreed we would go back alone just for that side dish! To be fair the yuca and maduros were amazing as well! I had the tops vieja which was delicious as well as the lechon. The breaded chicken was missing flavor but cooked right and would have appreciated cooked onions versus raw. Overall experience was great and service was attentive! Very casual setting and old school Cuban vibes which e enjoyed! Don't leave without the tres leches and flan!

Best place for Cuban food in the area. Had a chill but classy vibe, booths with glass dividers for privacy. Their marriquitas, ox tail, Vaca frita, lechon, morros, cameron, and just about everything we tried was great. Staff was very friendly (though if you go, make sure to have a Spanish speaker in the party), we were seated promptly and the food came hot and fresh.

It was okay, great service and big portions! What I got a couple of items to share - Plantain chips, fried fish and liver steak (bonus Oxtail). The plantain chips came out warm, not sure if it is homemade or not, I do appreciate that it wasn't salty and the dipping sauce for this was great great (be warned, garlic-y), the liver steak was okay, cooked well with the onions on top. The fried fish I wish was better, it was not fresh.. so we got the oxtail which was so tender and soft! Very surprised by that. The mixed season rice has these pork rinds on it and it was no where near chewable... The white bean soup has okay, but it had pork/meat which I was surprised it had. Environment It was very late for me, so I didn't see much on the outside, but I was able to park very close to the restaurant on the back. The inside was very spacious with a lot of booth seating. Niceness of the staff Very nice staff and attentive. I wish that the waiter was a little more descriptive about the dishes though. i.e when I asked about the white bean soup, they left out the important details that there was pork in the soup as well. The server was very nice to swap out the fish dish that was not as fresh but I was surprised that the cost did not reflect the new dish name... Dollar It was mid-pricing. The total for the 3 dishes was 80. Yes I will try somewhere else.

Stop by Molina's for take out dinner and I am sad to say that my meal was a disaster. The rice was mushy, plantains taste like frozen plantains, the vaca frita de pollo was bland & under cooked. Needless to say the beans and the onions were the stars of the show. The gentleman that took my order was pleasant. Overall, I would've ate a better at Pollo Tropical than Molina's. Stopped in for lunch at the recommendation of a customer. Not a bad spot, very authentic, everything is in Spanish and the servers are bi lingual but will first speak to you in Spanish. Got the roasted pork plate and it was fine. The interior of the restaurant is over for the area. Very clean as well.

It's good if you like Cuban food. They have good food, but it's a little overpriced. Other than that, the bread is really good.

They have such cute drinks! I just got pineapple juice but my friends got their coconut drink and mojito and said it was to die for! They give you these plantain chips to snack on and they are so good! It's got a sweet, salty, and crunchy chip texture to it. For an appetizer, we got a sampler which had ropa vieja, plantains, empanadas, shredded pork, and some large fried potatoes. I loved that so you get to try a little bit of everything. The ropa vieja tasted just like grandmas. They use ropa vieja as the filling in the empanadas. The fried potato's was steak fry cut style. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Just how a perfect fry should taste! Everyone really liked the vaca frita! I think that's a must try! It's shredded beef marinated in this delicious citrus marinate. They fry it afterwards so it's pull apart, melt in your mount soft, with a nice crispy crunch to it. I think this is a must get dish. The desserts were delicious too! The flan was perfectly soft and creamy. The tres leches was delicious as well. This is a great place to have some good Cuban and enjoy a beautiful night out in Miami!

For a Friday evening, the restaurant wasn't particularly busy, but the ambiance was actually great. The music definitely added to the experience, especially some good Marc Anthony tunes in Spanish that I really enjoyed! The atmosphere was lively and gave us that Latin vibe we were hoping for. Our server, Diego, was incredibly attentive and really went above and beyond. At times it almost felt like he was trying too hard to make sure we were happy, but honestly, we appreciated the effort! We started with the empanadas and the avocado salad with chicken. The chicken on the salad was disappointing. It had the texture and appearance of previously frozen/reheated chicken rather than the freshly grilled chicken we were expecting. For our entrées, we tried both the steak and a chicken dish. Unfortunately, neither worked for us. Both lacked the flavor we were expecting and instead seemed to rely heavily on salt. We ended up not finishing either dish. The cocktails didn't save the evening either. I started with a lychee martini, which wasn't as good as I had hoped, followed by a Mai Tai that also could have been better. I also saw my drink being taste-tested twice at the bar before it was brought over, which admittedly left me a little unsure about drinking it afterward. And then... THE FLAN! Finally, something I can rave about. They make a VERY good flan, and it was easily the highlight of our dinner. That's all I'll say! :) Overall, the ambiance was great, the music was fun, Diego worked hard to make sure we were taken care of, and the flan was excellent. Unfortunately, when it came to the actual entrées and cocktails, the experience just didn't deliver for us. There are too many Cuban restaurants around to explore, so we'll be trying others rather than returning to this one.

Our favorite time to visit is Sunday brunch, especially since they have a special menu. We recently came for Father's Day, and even though Julio was celebrating as a father himself, he was working incredibly hard to make sure every guest had a great experience. You can really see how much heart and dedication he pours into his business. As expected on Father's Day, there was a bit of a wait, especially since we were a larger party, but none of us minded. To thank us for our patience, Julio generously brought out croquetas for the table on the house, which was such a thoughtful gesture. I can't recommend Trigo Café enough. The food is consistently excellent, the service is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels like home. While brunch is our favorite, their lunch and dinner are just as great, and the new tapas and wine area they recently added is a fantastic addition. If you haven't been, you're missing out!
