a restaurant with a view of the mountains

Big improvements with seating since year's past. So glad no more roaming and squatting to get a table. Nachos also got better but still not Porcupine good. Vegan and vegetarian options could be improved especially since they were out of the veggie burger. I'm just so glad seating was easy. They also took over the first floor and moved brown bag area to the main center. Cozy spot to enjoy and share a pitcher with friends.

    Naaaaaachos!!

Molly Green's is the cute little lodge with a triangular roof (looks like a cottage) at the base of Brighton Resort, next to Crescent Lift. We had a great morning skiing and worked up some hunger by around 12:45. We figured we'd have a quick snack and a warm cocktail and get back to the slopes. The downstairs area of Molly's has family seating (I imagine that means no booze) but the upstairs has a proper bar. We magically found seating right away and as we were shedding our layers, I spotted a big ole plate of nachos go by...um, yes please! We each ordered the LMC (cocoa, 151, peppermint schnapps, whipped cream) but subbed the cocoa with coffee. The server warned us that these were very strong drinks and WOW was she right! If you're looking to loosen up the legs, this is the cocktail for you! We also (obviously) ordered the nachos and added chicken. They are a great size for sharing (2-3 people) - the chips were your standard circular chip (not my favorite, reminds me of the nachos you see in gas stations) but the TOPPINGS are where it's at. They use real shredded cheese (no canned cheese), olives, jalapeños, sour cream, green peppers, and they also come with a nice little cup of chili and one of salsa as well. No guac. For $24, I'd have liked some better chips, but it's a bluebird ski day so I'll let it slide because ALL IS WELL on a bluebird day! The nachos took a VERY long time to come out, but the place was absolutely packed so I wasn't shocked. TLDR: order an LMC, get the nachos, you'll be tipsy, then full, then happy. :)

The food is ok, but the service is awesome. I ordered the white pizza with a friend. We weren't able to finish it right away, but we were also stranded due to a major accident. The restaurant and bar stayed opened several hours after they were supposed to close, which is awesome! We would have had to wait in our cars for hours! We ended up moving upstairs to the bar until the roads were finally cleared. I appreciate all the workers there!!! The night could have been much worse if it weren't for them.

    Worst nachos ever.

We went to Molly Greens for the ambiance, big fire place, and nachos. It was very disappointing. The music was weird and too loud. The nachos were really bad and even the cocktail was underwhelming. And the price was very high. Here's a pic of the $20 nachos.

Great overall atmosphere. Great place to grab lunch after a day of skiing/ snowboarding. The staff there is amazing and friendly. There is an excellent selection of sandwiches, burgers and pizza. They also have great soup and my advice is to ask for the soup of the day cause it usually is very good from what I was told. They also have a great selection of beers on tap and bottled. I ordered the french onion soup which came with a slice of bread. The soup itself was very good and super cheesy. If you love cheese like me you will love the extra cheese that comes with the soup. I ordered the Epic Amber ale to go with my soup and it was also very good. In addition to good food, good service and awesome atmosphere, there was live band. I was told they play on select days. If you're ever skiing/snowboarding at Brighton Resort, I suggest to give this place a try. You won't disappointed.

Pretty yummy for lodge food! Located right at the bottom of slopes, walking distance. Great Mountain View's. Waiter was very nice. Potato soup was super creamy and filling. Food was good but the drinks were my fav part. Had an espresso stout beer. Then they had a list of hot alcoholic drinks too. Had a boozy coffee drink and also a boozy prepped mint hot chocolate, and though small those two drinks were strong! Def worth the money. Also tried the hot apple pie drink. Ended up staying at the bar drinking while my friends skied lol!

Not a bad place. But the rat shi$ in the window ledge is not awesome at all. Also hard to get water. Otherwise a good dive ski bar.

The food is so so, with one exception. The French onion soup is heaven. Drinks are nice and strong. Gets super crowded, so avoid 11-1:30.

Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. We ordered a bison burger with fries, pulled pork poutine, and blue corn nachos. The fries were limp and cold. The nachos arrived with regular corn chips instead of blue corn and were also cold. The pulled pork poutine was cold as well, and the burger was overly salty. What made the experience worse was the lack of service. We waited about 30 minutes without being checked on while the manager appeared to visit other tables. After flagging down a server, it took additional time before we were assisted. I understand that restaurants can have off nights, but this visit fell well below expectations -- especially given the price point and past experiences. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as the location and atmosphere have always been a draw.

The food was fantastic, made with care, and far above what you usually find in a mountain lodge setting. The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive, and seemed to take real pride in the place. The dining room and bar have a rustic charm that feels authentic rather than staged, which adds to the overall atmosphere. A memorable stop and absolutely worth returning to.

They were not; they were actually 50% or more higher at the restaurant. The hamburger that was showing on Yelp for $15 was actually $22. The Steak Frites advertised for $22 were $35. I understand inflation, but this was a gross enough difference that it borders on deception, in my opinion. I also had a bad experience with my food: I ordered a cup of their chili (which they claim is made from scratch, on-site) and it was brought to the table cold. Like, "right out of a can" cold. Kelsi, our fantastic server, returned it to the kitchen where (I presume) they nuked it and brought it back. It was heated, but not very tasty. Flat; under-seasoned; mushy textured. Definitely something I'd never order again. Many reviews say the atmosphere is "loud" but what they mean is, it's "LOUD". We were seated inside, and it was nearly impossible for the three of us to converse. The acoustics are not great. Enough cons; how about some pros? My burger was FANTASTIC! piled high with caramelized onions and pastrami, but beef patty tasted like it'd just come off a charcoal grill. Terrific flavor in every bite. (The parmesan fries were tasty, too, but a little on the soggy side.) My dining partners each had a salad (one 'wedge' and one 'beetroot') and both were well-prepared and generously portioned. And, finally, the staff, the location, the vibe: All really first-rate. I'll probably come back, if I ever recover from the bait'n'switch sticker shock. (But I'll steer clear of the chili and opt to dine on the patio, if that's available!)

On the website it says the $12 will go towards your meal. When we arrived, we checked in at the hostess booth, which was just outside the door. When we walked into the dinning room we noticed there was NO ONE seated at any of the tables. We were seated clear in the back by the server's station looking into the kitchen. (I noticed they use box wine) Why she sat us clear in the back on a tiny table for four people is beyond us. (There were six of us.) Finally, we had to ask her to put two tables together so that we could all have room to eat. I ordered a mimosa with orange juice. We asked if the orange juice was freshly squeezed and she said no it wasn't. It tasted just ok, the sparkling wine they used was Not champagne for sure, and it tasted as such. We tried to order the grilled asparagus and the Japanese soufflé pancakes, both were not available. I ordered the Sunrise Baguettes for our appetizer and the Citrus Cognac Pain Perdu, and For the Groms for the main entre. The waitress didn't bring out the "Warm bun Basket" as indicated on the menu, but some Rock Hard OLD cinnamon buns with rock hard icing! I tried to put my fork into one and my fork wouldn't go in.... literally. Mind you these small buns were just sitting on the counter waiting for the flies to land on them, no covering, no wonder they were rock hard and old. The palette cleanser came out next which was the best food item of the morning. However, they used some bottom shelf balsamic vinegar which was bitter. Then came our brunch items. What shock when we saw how small the French toast was, just two small burnt end pieces of a baguette. The menu said it came with maple syrup, none was brought to our table. For my order the food was cold and old. It looked and tasted like it was from a few days ago, and they just heated it up in the oven or microwave. The hashbrowns were so greasy, and not fresh at all, the same for the scrambled eggs. Usually when I've had scrambled eggs they are light and fluffy and warm, not here! The waitress came over and said "I forgot to put in the order for the Sunrise Baguettes, I will do that now and not charge you for them." Uhhh ok. They never did show up, and the good thing is she didn't charge us for them. When the "included dessert" came out, we all had to share, we didn't get our own dessert. I took one bite and couldn't eat it. I'm not a fan of yogurt. I didn't eat it, so my partner got to eat it all. Why didn't we get our own dessert, these were too tiny to really share? Last by not least, the waitress didn't apply the money from the reservation to the bill. We didn't notice until we walked outside. When we brought it up to the waitress she said "No, that is to make a reservation." We asked to talk to a manager, and she said there wasn't one around and she would have the manager call us. What no manager on duty! I don't recommend eating here, but if you do, just go as a walk in, there is plenty of seating (we had the whole dining room to ourselves) and bypass the $12 to register that won't get taken off your bill.

We met our guide Pam in the village at Solitude where she welcomed us and outfitted us with snowshoes and headlamps for the slightly moderate hike up the mountain to the Yurt. It was so refreshing to hike through the trees and the snow to our dining adventure. Once inside the Yurt chef Andy introduced himself and welcomed us with a glass of bubbles and explained our dining experience for this evening and the menu that he had planned. He was conscious to ask about any dietary restrictions or allergies. The majority of the menu is locally sourced and includes lots of farm to table elements. We started with a plate of fresh breads and cheeses from Beehive Creamery. Next we were served a fresh mixed green salad with a vinaigrette dressing. Then the soup was a potato leek soup with bacon which was so warm and comforting. The main course was a NY Strip Steak in a special cut served atop pureed cauliflower and asparagus. The flavor was amazing. To wrap up our meal we enjoyed some salted caramel ice cream. The only thing that was lacking is the beverage menu. Only water is offered as a beverage. There is a wine and beer list available with options by the glass or the bottle and all at moderate prices which is expected at a resort. They do permit you to bring your own bottle with a modest $35 corkage fee. With this experience being so magical and modestly priced it would be nice to have a few other beverage options "included" in the cost of the dinner. This is an entire dining experience with the snowshoe hike up the mountain, a chef curated meal inside the Yurt and the opportunity for communal dinning with some new folks. The prices for this meal are really the price for the experience. We were celebrating my birthday and what an amazing way to celebrate.

I didn't choose the restaurant, but as someone with celiac disease, this was an even bigger issue. I let the staff know up front that I have celiac disease and need to avoid gluten. I ordered a bunless burger and skipped the fries since they don't have a dedicated fryer. I ordered a side salad instead, only to find out almost all of the dressings contained gluten, so I went with the vinaigrette. The burger itself was overcooked and honestly pretty underwhelming. The worst part came at the end of my meal. I took a bite of my salad and felt a crunch. There was a crouton mixed in. I had to spit it into my napkin in front of my coworkers, but by then I'd already chewed it and had crumbs throughout my mouth. For someone with celiac disease, this isn't just an inconvenience. If I'd never mentioned it, that would be one thing. But after telling the staff up front, there should never have been a crouton on that salad. That's beyond normal cross contamination. It was simply careless, and unfortunately it overshadowed the entire experience.
