Finally came here and decided to get the Premium Jasmine Milk Tea, since that's one of the most popular drinks and got the white boba, no ice, and 30% sugar rather than my usual 0% sugar only because they recommend 70% sugar. At first, I was like oh no, is my drink not going to taste right without doing their recommendation, but my drink was actually sweet, even though they say it's not very sweet if you don't do 70%. I should have just done by 0%, but anyways, I don't get the hype at all. The tea was very aromatic, but that's it. Is it the cream that's worth the squeeze or am I missing something? Because now I am thinking should I go back to get the cream version? The white boba wasn't as good as the brown version at other establishment and I just don't get why anyone would wait more than 30 minutes for their drinks. Believe the hype --BEST TEA EVER! I totally get why there's always a line here because the tea is so fragrant and refreshing. We came on a Saturday afternoon and ended up waiting half an hour to get our drinks. If you have WeChat, you can order ahead to save some time. Molly Tea was intimidatingly busy and crowded, but I was personally impressed by how fast they went through people and how I didn't actually really need to queue up to order (the wait was mostly for your drinks, which also came out fast). Their operation seems well run. It's a busy storefront with no seating (but it's Flushing, so many indoor malls to enjoy your drink, which is what my friend and I did). I ordered the gardenia milk tea and my friend ordered the champaca one (I think that's the name). We each liked the one we ordered better, so I suppose it's a matter of taste, but I really liked the quality of tea, the unique flavors on the menu that are different from many other bubble tea/milk tea spots, and definitely would come here again. Solid drinks, but the service is a total mess. I'm giving this two stars strictly because the drink was actually good. If it weren't for the quality of the tea, this would easily be a one-star experience based on the service alone. While 4 people in the back were clearly working their tails off making drinks, there were 3 or 4 other employees standing around the front just chatting and messing with an Amazon package. Sometimes I truly do not understand how New Yorkers are willing to queue for anything. Every time l've passed by this place since it opened a few months ago, even during weekdays during the day, there's always been a long queue of people waiting to order and a large crowd mingling around the entrance waiting for their orders, and I keep thinking, surely it can't be *that* good (even after months?) All of the "bobaristas" in the back seem to be quite busy and working hard to churn out drink after drink (I did have a suspicion at one time that maybe they were being deliberately slow so that a queue for form, and then there would be more hype), and I ultimately got my drink ~10-15 minutes later. And,, it was quite disappointing? I mean, it was fine - a very solid cup of jasmine milk tea, a little bit too sweet, even at 50% sugar, but obviously that can be adjusted. But, I feel like I could have gotten the same beverage at nearly every bubble tea shop on that block, if not the entire downtown Flushing neighbourhood (and assuredly there are Quite A Few of those around). Molly Tea actually gets into the traditional Chinese tea blends: jasmine, gardenia, osmanthus, white champaca, golden peony. I got their classic jasmine and the girlfriend got the peach oolong. Both were fantastic, floral, subtly sweet, and just the perfect balance! Also, what helps is they have these narrow straws to use so you can enjoy the tea at a slower pace.
