It seems people San Francisco has it all when it comes to famous chain stores. There is no Wendy's in San Francisco or Dunkin Donuts . When it comes to tea there are lots of places in SF to get the tea. There is another chain store which San Francisco doesn't have yet. There is one located in San Mateo. Globally there are over 2000 stores. It has lots of bubble tea and it's called Molly Tea. On an August summer stroll I landed at San Mateo location of Molly Tea. Inside there is a kiosk to order the many drinks on their menu. You can get the salted cheese milk and also get matcha for Don Juan de la Matcha. I got the Premium Jasmine Grape purple Milk Tea. It was refreshing and angelic. Each drop of it was so tasty. I could drink a whole bucket of it. Although some bubble tea are known to be sour like some in SF but Molly Tea has some not too sweet flavors. A good place to grab some premium tea. Molly Tea has Chinese tea floral "innovation"which has come from overseas and across this great" nation "this is located a few blocks from the "San Mateo CalTrain Station "they have drinks for any "occasion" This is the place you want to go "again"with their tasty different tea flavor "blend "originated in the Silicon Valley of China known as "Shenzen"there is no location in SF and I don't know "when"
While walking around downtown San Mateo, I decided to give Molly Tea a try since Urban Ritual closed their San Mateo location. I've had Molly Tea once before in Brooklyn, NY and thought to try this location that's closer to home. It's a small shop with 2 kiosk machines and a cashier up front. I placed my order through the kiosk, and it didn't take long for my drink to be ready, even with a crowd of people waiting around. Like many tea shops, they have an efficient system that keeps the orders moving quickly. *** M Y P I C K *** PISTACHIO JASMINE COCONUT ~ Premium Jasmine combines coconut water with pistachio cheese, delivering a sweet coconut aroma, fresh floral notes, and a subtle tea flavor. The cheese offers a rich, fruity brightness that fills the palate with a smooth, mellow finish. I ordered it at 50% sweetness, and honestly, it wasn't sweet at all -- perfect! Their sweetness options for this tea are 0%, 50%, 70%, and 100%, so I'd say their 50% is more like 25% at other tea shops. The jasmine tea had a nice, pronounced flavor, even though they described it as subtle. However, once mixed with the pistachio cheese, the jasmine flavor mellows out nicely. I enjoyed this refreshing and aromatic tea! I'll definitely be back....already eyeing their snowy gardenia tea!
ordered on doordash and was ready before i even got there. i got the grape jasmine milk tea, and it was good! has the artificial grape flavor - kind of like a hichew, but i liked it. it wasn't too sweet. as always, the store was crowded so it was hard to make it to the pick up counter, but love the option to pick up.
This was such a hyped-up place, so we had to come try it for ourselves. There was a long line, but drinks were coming out quickly, and the process was very efficient. The only downside was that the service felt a bit unfriendly. It could simply be because they were extremely busy, but the interaction felt a little rushed and short. We We ordered the Velvety Matcha Champaca and Premium Jasmine Milk Tea. The matcha was just okay -- nothing particularly impressive or memorable. The jasmine milk tea had a nice fragrance from the tea leaves and you could tell they used quality tea and brewed it properly, but the flavor was unfortunately very watered down. Overall, I appreciate the quality of the tea ingredients and the efficient operation, but the drinks didn't quite live up to the hype for me.
I've visited here twice including on a Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Both times fairly busy but I got my order within about 5 minutes! ORDER Premium Jasmine Milk Tea Peach Oolong Milk Tea STARS (stand out qualities) -Drink (5/5 stars) - very good quality tea and milk ; great ratio of both -Service (4/5 stars) - fast and effective -Ambiance (4/5 stars) - just big enough to buy drinks and there small area of merchandise if anyone is interested STAIRS (areas of growth) -For a first timer, it feels a bit overwhelming and I recommend simplifying or improving the flow of the signs TIPS -Signs recommend 70% sweetness since there drinks are not very sweet -Watch out for strong tea contents if you are sensitive to caffeine -You can order from two kiosk inside the store and QR code displayed on sign outside -Sign up for Molly Tea app to access discounts
I'm obsessed! It's hard to find a boba shop that stand out from the overwhelming options. Molly Tea blew my mind as the jasmine tea which is often subdued, came through even with matcha. The drink I got was creamy, fragrant, and perfectly matcha balanced! Found a new favorite drink and so glad I tried this location. It was so easy to order. Recommend: Matcha White Champaca salted cheese
The line is not nearly as long as it used to be but this location still has great business. You can order at 2 kiosks or online and you just pick up your drink there. No indoor seating but they do have outdoor seating scattered everywhere along the closed off street. I used to LOVE Molly tea but I think my body can't take all the sugar and milk anymore. I would either decrease sweetness or opt for their more natural teas.
Very small shop with two kiosk to order from. The drink came out super fast. Ordered the jasmine apple milk tea and it is very fragrant! I would order it again. Wished I could order the drink in a bigger size!

MT entered the U.S. market via a flagship store in Flushing, New York. Migrating across the U.S., and trekking locally from Cupertino. The floral fragrances and notes are similar to what you'd discern in fine wines. The San Mateo site is small, but seemingly operationally efficient, decor light, bright and minimalist modern so popular and welcoming. Walk in and orders are taken via three kiosks. Advance orders can be done on their website online. Plenty of staff behind the scenes processing the orders but not much direct face to face help will happen. Including deciphering their Jasmine tea levels. They seem to have quite a few sets of buttons or pins displayed along the walls that MT fans collect. After ordering milk tea, most congregate outside checking the Orders Board (Ready, In-Progress) until it's time to pick up the order. Tried the TONGMU LAPSANG MILK TEA, no sugar, regular ice, added Crystal Boba. The black tea from Wuyi Mountain, Fujian province, exudes a gentle, almost perfumed fragrance but I'm afraid the elegance of it was lost on me. I enjoy the ubiquitous HK Milk Tea that started it all for me, adding Boba and ice much later. And the really Western part of me savors a bold Earl Grey Milk Tea wherever and whenever I can find it. Feat not, MOLLY TEA is a huge success since it opened a few months ago. With crowds waiting outside for their orders everyday. Give it a try. The masses cannot be wrong...
i love molly tea but this location is horrendous. it's so small with no seating inside and there's always SUCH A LONG LINE (+ long wait for drinks). i was pretty unimpressed with the drinks at this location as well because it was so milky and lacked that strong tea/floral flavor i like from molly. would rather just drive a little further to another location tbh.
Been to this location a few times and always got the premium Jasmine Milk Tea and it's DELICIOUS. If I can give this place a 4.5 stars I would. The only reason why I'm only docking a star off is because the entrance/doorway is always so crowded and it can be confusing as to who is waiting to order via the kiosk or the ones who are waiting to pick up their order, and going in and out the door. Feels like it's a safety hazard with all of the crowds. You order on the kiosk and enter in your phone number and it will give you a number to pick up. While you wait you can see the number on the screen that your drink is ready. Besides the crowd, the drink itself is VERY good. It is so light and not sweet at all. I've always finished the drink in less than 30 minutes and always want more haha. I love that the caffeine has not kept me up (which is great). I wish they would have MORE locations all around! It's my most favorite tea place ever!
Always a super long line here! This time didn't go too well for me. Jasmine flavor was not as strong as before. I usually never order ice but I did this time since it was so hot. However, less ice did not mean less ice.
Ordered a Gardenia green milk tea... tastes just the way gardenia smells. I liked it, but my spouse said it tasted like "sucking on a gardenia" (a bit too floral). I usually order the Jasmine green milk tea and also enjoy the floral notes, so it's likely a matter of taste. My spouse ordered a Tongmu Lapsang milk tea, which was a smooth black tea. A bit pricey but you can tell the tea is good quality. Service was quick and drinks can even be ordered ahead online through chowbus. It's right on the San Mateo blocked off strip (keep in mind you will have to walk to get here as you cannot drive right up), so while there's no indoor seating, there is public seating outdoors.
I was in the area and decided to stop by Molly Tea in downtown San Mateo, and I'm really glad I did. I had originally planned to order their Premium Jasmine Milk Tea, but the Top 6 drinks board caught my eye, and I ended up trying the Snowy Jasmine (Top 2). I got it medium, with less ice and 70% sugar, topped with jasmine-infused whipped cream and a sprinkle of pecans. The drink was smooth, fragrant with jasmine, and perfectly balanced--not too sweet at all. I didn't even make it far; it was gone within minutes of getting back to my car. I also really enjoyed the store's pink theme and the cute pink cups (though not everything is pink) -- they add a fun, playful touch to the experience. If you're nearby and wondering what to order, I'd definitely recommend giving Snowy Jasmine a try. I'll be back for sure! read more
I came here for their grand opening BOGO drinks and waited about 30-45 minutes in line but it actually moved pretty quick! I've been waiting for this location to open for ages and so happy that they joined San Mateo! I love their jasmine tea drinks so much including their premium jasmine milk tea and osmanthus and their white champaca one too! I love the floral notes in their drinks. Other drinks I like is the jasmine matcha milk tea and the pistachio white champaca coco! Will definitely be going often now that it's closer to me! read more
Is the hype real? Yes! If you want some excellent jasmine milk tea, come to Molly Tea! My go-to's: their signature premium jasmine milk tea and the pistachio jasmine coconut. The jasmine flavor really comes out in all their drinks. The pistachio jasmine coconut one is pretty unique with the addition of coconut water but I think it's the perfect refreshing drink on a hot day. Don't be alarmed by the long line! Their system is pretty efficient and usually they have someone take your order in line as well as at the inside register. I know we have an abundance of boba options in DTSM but I think Molly Tea is a welcome addition for their focus on jasmine milk tea. read more
The line, even on a Tuesday afternoon, looked a little daunting. It moved quickly though and I'd say from waiting to getting two drinks with no toppings, it was 20 minutes. There's no place to sit inside, just a counter to order. I didn't get a chance to enter my number in for rewards while ordering, the process at the counter feels a bit rushed. TBH though as someone who leans toward boba (regular bot crystal) milk tea I don't think I'll come back here often so it's fine. The jasmine was indeed floral and fragrant, but maybe to my more basic boba-frequenting palate (not a tea connoisseur), not more so than most other tea spots. All in all, good tea, pretty fast service given more limited menu. I don't think I'll be giving up TP Tea, Urban Ritual, or Rare Tea anytime soon though. I might come back to try the pistachio foam. Edit: came back on a Monday afternoon with no deals but still a line. Waited maybe 25 minutes? Tried something more unique this time - matcha cheese white champaca. They couldn't do this with oat milk. thought this was too milky and needed more tea ratio wise. Sweetness is on point at 50% though. If someone wanted to come here I'd probably grab something with regular boba (instead of just crystal boba) across the street instead. I think it's pretty good but not worth the wait or the price of $7.xx without boba. read more
Came with my friends a few weeks after opening and the line was out the door, but went by decently quickly. They had 2 kiosks to order from, and drinks came out relatively fast. I went on Monday at 2 pm after their grand opening BOGO promotion ended and was surprised there was such a long line on a weekday. Took about 20 minutes in line to order and then another 10 minutes to get the drinks - the line moved surprisingly quick. The drinks were very fragrant floral and tasted great - I think going with their recommended sweet and ice level was the right call! Staff were super nice and they have a tv monitor with the completed order numbers for you to pick up. read more
I LOVE MOLLY TEA! yes... i went to the cupertino location the other day and came to the san mateo one today :P happy grand opening weekend! the overall process was very efficient; it only took around 45 min in total despite it looking so packed from the outside. we tried a pistachio white champaca coconut drink alongside our usual orders of premium jasmine milk tea and white champaca. tbh, i think simple is best. just get the white champaca and you'll have a splendid drink on its own! anyway i'll be back. This is one of my favorite milk tea chains in New York and I'm so happy they're expanding to the Bay Area! The tea here is strong, but light and floral. The tea tastes high in quality and authenticity. The lines are long but they have a good system. One line to order and another line / area just to pick up. Love that Molly Tea is finally in San Mateo, so I no longer have to make the trek to the South Bay for some milk tea. Why are all the new places always in the South Bay though?? This Molly Tea replaced what used to be Bambu, so the store itself is on the smaller side. The line basically forms outside, and they take 1 group at a time, and after you order, you wait outside for your drink. There is a TV with order numbers that are ready that is on the window display, so you will be able to see when your drink is ready while waiting outside. Lines on the weekdays are not as bad as weekends, but either way, seems like online ordering is the way to go! I got their Jasmine Milk Tea, which is my favorite from their Sunnyvale location, and it tastes the same, so there's definitely consistency between locations. read more

Came by for their grand opening on Sunday almost a month ago and the line was incredibly long...ended up being about a 40 min wait to order. I was feeling a bit cold so I ordered the Premium Jasmine Milk Tea (hot) and the White Champaca Milk Tea with recommended ice and sweetness. Do note that they charge an extra dollar for hot drinks! The premium jasmine was really fragrant but almost a little toooo creamy since it was hot (but at a perfect drinking temperature). The white champaca was fragrant and enjoyable! Did I like the drinks? Yes! Would I wait an hour for them again? Definitely not. Looking forward to coming back to this location if wait times improve!! read more

I've always seen a long line or crowd outside of Molly Tea since it opened. Since I finished eating dinner nearby on a weekday night and saw a smaller crowd of people I decided this is my chance to finally try this place out. Ordering is done on a kiosk and the menu has descriptions of each item. While scrolling through the menu, I had a hard time deciding what to get; I scrolled up and down at least three times. I eventually ordered a Premium Jasmine Milk Tea (less ice) and Premium Jasmine Matcha Milk Tea (hot) for a friend, 70% sugar for both. It took eight minutes for the drinks to be ready. I thought my iced drink was okay but felt like it was predominantly milk even though I did notice how fragrant and floral it was. I did notice quite a bit of ice considering I did order less ice. My friend enjoyed her drink and said it was creamy. I think Molly Tea is good if you like quality tea but if you are someone who likes a wide variety of sugary/blended/creamy drinks (like me), another of the many boba shops nearby may be a better option. At least I can finally say I tried Molly Tea, though I probably won't be back! read more
So I am curious, which one is better - Molly Tea or Chagee??? I had my first Molly Tea and Chagee within the same week and I think I prefer Molly.. Both leveraged luxury logos (LV for Molly; Dior for Chagee) for marketing and both lean hard into milk tea with sugary whip cream. I ordered the Jasmine Matcha Milk hot and was pleasantly surprised by the fragrant flavor. It was surprising sweet (probably from the matcha cream topper) even though I selected 0% sugar. The order counter recommends 70% sweetness so I can't even fathom how sweet that would be! It was good but not a drink I would crave nor line up for nor pay nearly $9 for. The order system is self-service kiosk (but somehow still defaults to 5% tip - not a big deal but I would rather they just price accordingly to pay their hard working staff good wages vs tips for self service). The team behind the counter worked like magic with efficiency and drinks were churned out super quick. The service was not personal but functional and efficient. This Molly location had minimal decor other than the pink bags and definitely falls behind Chagee's beautiful marketing swag. There is no seating area inside but there are public benches outside while you wait for your drink. read more
My first Molly Tea! I grew up on drinking traditional Chinese teas so I'm a big fan of the super strong tea flavors. I got the snowy jasmine at 100% sweetness, and it's not sweet at all FYI for those with a sweet tooth. It was very busy and a little bit of a wait but was expected. read more
Finally!! We are Molly Tea fans, and love their fragrant jasmine tea flavor. Even though lines were long, the wait was fast and system was efficient. I tried their matcha jasmine latte today, and wow, their jasmine tea base makes a great combo with their matcha cream. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with anything here, 10/10 across all locations. read more

New location of the super popular milk tea brand. Expect to wait in a line of at least 30-45 minutes when visiting them. Drinks are made at actually a decent speed, but it's the ordering that takes a bit of time. They definitely use good quality tea however, the milk flavor seems to be a little lacking and the drink itself doesn't taste too much different than a good cup of tea. Definitely give it a try if you're more of a tea than milk fan. read more

I've heard great things about Molly Tea so I was excited to try their San Mateo location, and thankfully I was not disappointed! I got the Peach Tieguanyin Oolong Milk Tea and I do understand the hype! The tea is so flavorful and delicious; you can really taste the quality difference compared to other tea places. I heard their drinks are on the less sweet side, so since I like mine sweeter I got 100% sweetness. It was perfect! My partner, who doesn't have as much of a sweet tooth as me, also said the sweetness level was good, and not too sweet. They have interesting tiny 3-holed straws (think 3 flat stirrer straws attached together side by side). But I actually do like their functionality because it makes you savor the flavors and not drink too fast. Just like their straws, interior is also tiny lol. No chairs or tables, so don't expect to sit down and enjoy your drink inside. But if I'm in the area, I would definitely consider coming back to try another drink! read more
I'm so happy there's a Molly Tea closer to me! I've already visited this new location twice and I can find myself building a habit of visiting Molly. At their Soft Opening I tried their Premium Jasmine (70% sweet, lite ice recommended) and I really enjoyed the strong floral flavor of their tea. This was better than my memory of their tea at their South Bay location. It was the tiniest bit too sweet as a kept drinking it but still very good. I also got a cute little fragrance sachet they were giving out! The second time I visited I tried their Osmanthus tea (50% sweet, lite ice) I preferred their Jasmine but I still enjoyed the fruity floral taste of this one! I also tried the Premium Jasmine (50% sweet, lite ice) with oat milk and really enjoyed it. I didn't realize they had this as an option the first time I visited and I love how it comes with an orange slice. The service was quick even on their busy Soft Opening day. I'll definitely be back to try the whole Molly Tea catalog! read more
WTF, this place is insane. I actually don't think I've been wow'd by a milk tea shop in a minute. The drinks are definitely something I wouldn't gravitate towards because $7 for a milk tea seems steep but I would 1000% come back because the quality of their drinks were just that good In short, I was briefly recommended this spot and came after a heavy meal so while the line during some light rain wasn't ideal it was rather quick for how busy it was. I'd say it was maybe about 5 - 10 minutes and they had a staff member with a mobile payment tablet so akin to what you'd might experience at an In-N-Out. Overall the drink ordering process was fairly smooth, they have your typical Jasmine tea with other esoteric teas that are less known but arguably the most well known is their Premium Jasmine Milk Tea The drink itself took maybe about 3 minute between ordering and receiving and had a slew of staff in the tiny shop each with their own station and an assembly line of passing the drink along. What most surprised me though was the straw and way they expected you to drink since it deviates from your typical tea shop. They have the top sealed, a lid on top, and a flat triple straw. The straw has an angled side where you poke into the top and sip with the lid on. My guess is to keep the drink from potentially spilling if you had ice and tipped the drink over. It seemed odd at first but it really prevented the scenario of drinking too quickly and not savoring the tea As odd as it felt I enjoyed it more because the tea was the highlight. I occasionally get tea from the likes of TP Tea and have found that to be my favorite within the Bay for tea forward drinks but this place supplants that now. The tea here has the proper amount of extraction where it isn't too sweet (in fact they explicitly state their drinks are less sweet) with the default being 70% sweetness and also not astringent (mouth drying feeling) It was on par with some tea shops I had in Taiwan and China so would say it is indeed a worthwhile visit. Overall, just the quality of the tea and the fact the milk didn't overpower the tea was something I would say is rare with tea shops. Despite the wait in the rain it was clearly a fan favorite with the line being as long as it was. I would recommend many friends to come unless they're not tea folks read more

There's finally a Molly Tea in San Mateo! Since it's new to the area, the line is still very long but it moves quickly and the good thing is downtown San Mateo has a ton of restaurant options to eat at while you're in the area. I love a strong floral tea and Molly Tea is hands down one of the best in the game. I always get the Premium Jasmine Milk Tea and it never disappoints. Their drinks are on the less sweet side by default. I'm a fan of the special straw with the three tiny holes. I do feel like it makes me savor the drink slowly and with greater appreciation. The shop itself is quite small with no seating available inside, but it smells amazing and the staff are very efficient. Parking is available in nearby parking structures or if you're able to snag a street spot. Definitely beats the brutal parking situation at the Sunnyvale location. read more
Tested our luck to see how was the line. We got there around noon and line was short. Including waiting in line, ordering, and got the drinks on hand, it took us less than 15mins! 11/10/2025 was their first day for their promotion (双喜有礼）to receive a free Molly Tea Bag! Limited 200 bags per day and they only have pink and green color available. You just have to leave a review/post a picture on one of the requested social media such as (IG/RedNote/TikTok/Yelp/Google). We were able to get one color each since there was 2 of us. Their last day for this promotion would be on 11/16/2025. You know we definitely cannot leave the place with just one drink. So we each ordered 2 drinks each! We ordered: Snowy Jasmine 一朵茉莉花 Snowy Peach Oolong 一口老铁 White Champaca Oolong Milk Tea 白益金識 Premium Peach Oolong Milk Tea 蜜桃老铁 Snowy Jasmine and White Champaca were my favorite out of those 4. Their merchandise pins, bags and tea sachets were all sold out because of the promotion they just had a few days ago if anyone was wondering. The store isn't too big inside. You were only allowed to just order the drinks and fit a few people inside to wait. They also have a wall full of merchandises as decorations on the right side and the left side with "一见茉莉 心生欢喜" quote. So if you want to take a clear picture, it might be a bit difficult. They have a super cute wagon in front with their logo on it. So that was a good picture to have for the background. I LOVE MOLLY TEA!! Despite the long wait because it's their opening weekend (BOGO deal), they are quite efficient. 30 minutes to place an order, 10ish minutes for them to make the order - they're so efficient! the white champaca tea is so fragrant! i haven't had tea this floral before and it's definitely the same quality as all the other molly tea us locations! The interior is very very small though! there's basically no space to stand around. But it is located on a street that's closed to traffic so you can walk around the pretty downtown. Overall a great experience! Jasmine Milk Tea - classic, always good, very floral. White Champaca - very good, very floral. hard to decide which is better Pistachio White Champaca coconut - good, but the white champaca was good already on its own. the addition of pistachio and coconut didn't really add to it very much. I would rather just get the milk teas in their base forms. read more
We arrived around 8:30 p.m. last night, and the line looked pretty daunting at first. Since many Yelpers mentioned it moves quickly, we decided to join and hope for the best. I'd never tried Molly Tea before, but DS had and really liked it. They were running a BOGO deal, so we got four cups between the two of us. We followed their recommendation of 70% sweetness. The two cups we drank last night had less ice, while the ones we're saving for tonight have no ice. In total, we waited about 38 minutes for our four drinks. Was it worth it? Personally, I think it was just okay. I'm glad I tried it, but I don't think it quite lives up to the hype. read more
Cute little shop with outdoor seatings. You can order with the cashier or the kiosks. I ordered one of their most popular tea, pisctacho white champaca coconut. It was refreshing and it smelled really good because of the champaca flower, but it was just okay to me. The first few sips were good, but the smell of the champaca took over afterwards. However, my 2 sisters LOVED it. So if you're a tea person that loves floral tea, you def should try if you're in the area. I'm just more of a coffee person lol read more

Came here on opening day and they were so quick with their service. Their tea smells good! The only thing I wish was that they eventually will have a honey boba option for their topping. I was surprised that we found this place! We were going for lunch and saw the line that it made me intrigued. read more
Super excited that a Molly Tea is finally opening in San Mateo! One of the top tea chain stores that I've been to. They're not your typical boba shop since they don't offer that many toppings and are focused more on the tea aspect of the drink. Came in on Saturday morning around opening time and there was a line already. Although it looks long, it moved very quickly and the staff was super friendly and helpful. They were very efficient in taking and serving people's orders. Took maybe around 5 mins after I placed mine. The staff will then give the pre-order merch and ask you for your preferences for your drink and they will put in the order for it to be made fresh. Overall, service is excellent! The store interior is pretty small; cute and elegant. It is mainly for ordering and it is lined with some merchandise for purchase on the wall. There isn't any seating inside, but they have street seating outside. Got a few drinks to try and overall they were very good! Tea forward with floral notes. 1) White Champaca Milk Tea(7.6/10) - Very good milk tea. Balanced notes of green tea and the french milk.. I opted for 50% Sweetness and it was very light and refreshing. Did not feel heavy like other milk teas. 2) Premium Iced Tea(7.4/10) - Just straight jasmine tea. The tea was very good! Tea forward without being too bitter and hints of floral notes at the end. 3) Premium Jasmine Matcha(6.8/10) - A decent matcha milk tea. The matcha is in the cheese foam cap and not the tea itself, so it wasn't very strong. The tea itself was great as usual. They are currently doing a 12% off during soft opening(10/31/25 - 11/06/25) and a Buy One Get One Free promo during their grand opening(11/07/25-11/09/25). read more

Since Molly tea in China, I have been craving strong fragrant tea and was super happy they opened one here! I came here during soft opening and the line wasn't super long! We waited about 15 minutes in line before going inside. I immediately smelled a fragrant tea scent inside. The store is small with little to no seats. We ordered a snowy Jasmine and waited about 10 minutes before receiving our drink. It was absolutely delicious! The tea flavor is strong and the whip cream goes nicely with it. This place doesn't really specialize in toppings so don't expect boba. Overall I love strong teas and would come back! read more

So excited don't have to drive far for the nearest Molly Tea. I preordered my drink through Hungry Panda a couple days prior. The pickup was relatively easy. You just hand them the code and they will send in your order right away. If you need to order more drinks, you can order through them as well. On soft opening day, there was a line outside on the blocked street. Since the store is small, they only allow a few people in at a time. After they finish making the drink, they call out the number outside. They are very efficient in running the business. I got my drinks within 5-10 minutes. I've gone to the Sunnyvale shop multiple times and it's always super busy and the parking is chaotic, so I'm super ecstatic there's one in San Mateo now! They really got the whole system down for ordering, pick ups, and their drinks. Although there was a super long line during their soft opening, it did not take long to order the drink and pick it up. The store is small, with no seating inside. The Premium Jasmine tea is soooo good! If you like a tea forward drink that's floral, this is the spot! read more
I'm so obsessed. This actually is the best boba in the Bay Area. I showed up for the soft opening thinking I'd be waiting forever (you know how these things go), but the line moved shockingly fast. They're doing 12% off for the soft opening, which obviously made my boba taste even better Lol. I'm so happy there's finally another Molly Tea location. Best boba in the peninsula! Highly recommend the pistachio jasmine coconut and jasmine matcha, of course the signature Molly tea is a must have as well. Rich, creamy, fragrant... I could drink it everyday. Light ice and 30% sugar is perfect for me. The shop is small but mighty. They have cute decor and merch. The soft opening promotion is a great deal! Heard great things about Molly Tea, so I was super excited to try. I'm a classic jasmine milk tea girly, but wanted to also try their matcha too so I'm glad they had something with both. Ordered the iced matcha jasmine tea with salted cheese. Less ice and 70% sugar was perfect imo. The jasmine tea really stood out in a good way, and was on the more floral side. Cost was $7.49 which is pretty standard for milk tea these days so I would say it was reasonable. Make sure to mix it before drinking or you'll get all the matcha and cheese just at the top. Would come back and try their other drinks! Service was pretty quick (less than 5 min wait) on a Tuesday evening at 7pm, even with lots of people waiting outside. read more

Suuuuuuuuper floral and fragrant tea bases! You can immediately taste the difference in tea quality compared to some of the other huge chains out there. It comes at a price of course ($7+) but when the awful syrup based boba shops are also charging that much, opting for Molly Tea is a no brainer. I hope they open more locations around Bay Area! read more
