I love, love, love Molly's Cupcakes. I've had them a few times, but I never stopped inside of a store before, and I absolutely needed a sweet treat after dinner. Molly's has thee best cupcakes in city, not even kidding, but I didn't know they had such cute stores too! It was really spacious in here. They have a fun science wall and a lunch box wall. It was really cute. The staff were so sweet and kind. I managed to snag the last strawberry cheesecake, and I truly could've eaten like five more of them. Molly's has some pretty great flavors for their cupcakes like Blueberry Cheesecake, Crème Brûlée, Peach Cobbler. They also have other cheesecake flavors, which I thought was near. I almost tried the cherry cheesecake, but had to stick with what I love from Molly's. Highly, highly recommended!

Second time trying Molly's Cupcakes but this time at the location on Wabash! Can we please start a slow clap for the design and decor of this location? You walk in and it's not just a bakery it's a place to socialize, catch up with friends, and swing...YES sit in a swing and not try to drop your goodies! One day I'll move to Chicago and pick an apartment based on distance from this location.

I tried the Cookie Monster and the Strawberry Lemonade cupcakes and both were dry and tasted old. The icing was mediocre at best and the cake itself had a strange spongy texture. The only decent one was the Strawberry Cheesecake, but even that wasn't impressive enough to make up for the others. Mollys Cupcakes seems to be all hype with small, overpriced cupcakes that don't live up to their reputation. For the price they charge, I expected much better quality and freshness. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're okay with paying premium prices for subpar cupcakes. There are much better bakeries in Chicago worth visiting instead.

Such a cute atmosphere! I was there first thing in the morning so the cupcakes were still cold and not as soft and fluffy as I'd prefer. The peach cobbler was enjoyable and I bought others to try later on today.

The specialty cupcakes are so good at Molly's! They all have filling on the inside (which is not just frosting) unique to each flavor. The cookie cupcake had cookie dough in the center which was so good. The sprinkles one has cake batter inside - might be my favorite one! Blueberry one was really taste too. They have flavors you can't get everywhere and I heard they even make a ras malai cupcake during Diwali so I'll have to go back to try that one!

Mollys is my favorite cupcake place/bakery in South Loop. I love the setup of the shop; there are plenty of tables for people to sit, and they even have games available for customers to play. The sweets are all displayed in glass cases, so I don't have to worry about bugs flying around. Recently, they introduced the option to create your own cupcake cake, which is really cool. During my visit, I tried the strawberry bubbles and the cake batter cupcakes, along with a doggy treat for my furry friend. I appreciated that they sell dog treats, and the person taking my order even threw in an extra one for free, which was really nice of her. I especially love these cupcakes because they have an extra surprise inside, which is always a delightful treat.

Amazing cupcakes and very helpful and friendly staff! They answered my many questions and helped me pick out the perfect cupcakes for me and my ex-roommate!

Mollys by far is my favorite!! I have never had a cupcake as good as Mollys. Every single cupcake that I have tried has been one of a kind. They are all filled with so much flavor and not to mention they are the cutest cupcakes ever. These cupcakes really live up to their name. They are all so unique and embody the dessert it's named after. This particular day I had cookies and cream, strawberry shortcake, peach cobbler, Cookie Monster, my absolute fave creme brulee, and red velvet. Every single cupcake was like heaven in my mouth. And did I mention they deliver!! You can order these cupcakes and have them deliveredby door dash! Even better right?? However if you're in the area you might want to stop inside. Look at how nice it looks. Very creative and esthetically pleasing.

These cupcakes are decent and will fix a cupcake craving but I would not say they are the best cupcakes. Pros: Good variety of cupcakes You can customize your cupcakes Cupcakes are decently priced around $4 Inside of the store is cute Cons: Taste is average

    So cute inside

I was HOOKED on Molly's cupcakes when I visited Chicago. My personal favorite by far was the white chocolate raspberry. I tried most of the cupcakes and nothing beat the white chocolate raspberry. The cupcakes were just SO good. And the interior design was super cute! They had cute swing seats. There was a book wall with lockers across from it on the way to the restroom. Everything here was just adorable, it was well lit and great for some cute pictures. They also had two giant stuff animals in one of the seating spaces. The place is self serve, they have a station with forks, napkins, a sink and everything you need to clean up. Tl;dr - Great interior for cute pics. Cupcakes are delicious. Love the white chocolate raspberry

Now I will say this review is only for this location (granted I have never tried the other locations etc). I think the concept of l filled cupcakes is so fun, and Mollys has a variety of great flavors on rotation usually. The price I think is reasonable to other cupcake/ bakery shops in the city (though a bit pricey in general; I blame inflation and Chicago just being expensive in general ) The reason I'm giving 3 stars is for the service. Truly not an amazing customer experience, the staff felt like they didn't want me there as a customer and was kinda rude honestly. I think I'll try my luck at the other locations if I really want another Mollys cupcake.

Decent cupcake shop. I'd say a 3.5. If the service was a little nicer the day I went, I'd probably give them a 4, but it definitely impacted my experience. Didn't want to spend too much time there after I ordered. However, the cupcakes were solid. Not party-in-your-mouth good, but tasty and good texture. Good frosting to cake ratio... I'm sure if you used them for catering a party or getting a large order for a party, people would be satisfied.

I didn't love the graham cracker because it had a strong buttery taste, but I get that it's needed to hold it together. Without that, it would've been a 9/10. The cheesecake topping tasted almost like custard and paired well with the blueberry cupcake base. Chocolate sea salt caramel... 10/10. This might actually be one of the best cupcakes I've ever had. Rich chocolate cake, caramel sauce in the middle, buttercream that wasn't too sweet, and the salt on top tied everything together perfectly. Peach cobbler was insane. 1000/10. It tasted like pumpkin pie and apple pie combined, probably from all the cinnamon. Not overly sweet, super light cream, and just perfection. Definitely worth the hype. The chocolate sea salt caramel and peach cobbler might actually be the best cupcakes I've ever had.

I've been a customer of almost 10 years and have been obsessed since they first opened their doors at a different location. I literally live an hour away without traffic and even longer with traffic, but I make sure to stop by or send someone else to get it for me at least once a month or more. I love the amazing cakes that are so delicious and unique but on top of that, it is Asian owned, LGBTQ supporting, etc. A lot has changed since their little storefront with no seating. The bakery is now a full on cafe and I'm so happy to see how much they've grown and how successful they are. And while it is glorious, I will say I miss the sweet neighborhood charm and great customer service it used to have. Getting in touch with the bakery through phone or text can be tough and to be honest, sometimes one of the people working there is kind of...very mean. It had me questioning if I should keep coming back. I just love this bakery so much though and being raised by parents that had a small food business, I can't help but want to support. I had a particularly difficult last minute request for the bakery a few weeks ago and I was reminded why this place is so great. It had been YEARS since I made this specific request, which was an order for a slice of cake for every flavor and a cupcake for every flavor. This is a BIG and time consuming request, especially if it's last minute. Unfortunately I come to the city whenever the traffic isn't atrocious, so it's always last minute. Dom absolutely pulled through though. Even though there were other employees there (I saw two others but one disappeared and then another male was kind of walking around the cafe and such), Dom took this giant request and fulfilled it himself. The other gentleman (not the mean person previously mentioned) was actually who I made the request to, but he told Dom to do it. I was kind of confused why they didn't do it together but idk, maybe the other guy isn't allowed to handle food? Who knows. Regardless, this request obviously took a long time and the line was getting longer; people were getting a little restless but Dom stayed calm but was swift. I swear he was moving faster than most people in the industry could with a cake knife like that. He was not impatient or rude to me at all. He was just there to do his job as fast and well as possible. It's so rare to see that type of work ethic. He is also so obviously proud of the bakery and the food they serve which makes you feel good about being a patron there. So although I continue to have an unpleasant experience with one particular employee there, Dom keeps my love for this bakery alive. He reminds me of what this bakery was like when they first opened their doors. I hope Dom is cherished there and I bet he is considering his work ethic. I will continue to support this bakery and I recommend everyone else to support as well. It may not be that small little shop anymore but Dom is a reminder of the heart of the place.
