Beautiful birthday cake from Little Swan Bakery
    Shirley W.

Was by looking for a birthday cake and Little Swan had the perfect one -strawberry with macarons on top - so pretty and my son and daughter in law loved it! We also got some pastries and I particularly like the baked cha shu bao. Their other pastries are very good too-decent prices and tasty. Will be coming back for more cakes!

Taro and red bean (right to left)

Just dropped by Little Swan Bakery after my workout. I wanted to get a quick snack to hold me over until my late lunch with my parents. I got a taro bun, red bean bun and an Americano. With 10% tip, it came out to be shy of $10. Both pastries are ok. The taro bun wasn't sweet enough, and the red bean was too sweet. The Americano helped balanced things out. I was confused, they didn't have milk/sugar on the side. They said if I wanted milk, it would be a Latte.

We had to find a different place for egg tarts since the usual place we get it was closed down sadly. This place had great reviews so decided to try the egg tarts and some pastries. Sadly the egg tarts and pastries was a disappoint. The egg tarts weren't sweet and the crust falls apart too easily. The pastries were bland. I personally wouldn't go there again.

Pork sung mini cakes - the most amazing pastry Little Swan Bakery has blessed humanity with

Looks like a generic Asian bakery (which is usually already pretty good) of the 85 degrees sort but the pastries here are better. Their Brulee tart (Po tart) is really good. The best thing though, are these fancy looking pork sung "mini cakes". I thought it was just pork sung bread cut weird, but the inside is actually very much cake batter, moist and soft. And in the middle there is salted egg yolk!!!! This has got to be the most amazing pastry I've eaten of late. Whoever invented this should get it patented and apply for whatever prize they give out to fancy pastries chef. I'm willing to sacrifice a boba a week so I can get these fancy schmancy creatures.

Such a long overdue post! I love the pastries from Little Swan when I lived in Arcadia and so thankful that they recently opened a new location in Rowland Heights as I've also since moved, but this review is strictly for their custom birthday cakes! I ordered a cake for my daughter as she loved mermaids but I didn't want to get the traditional Disney Ariel cake. Little Swan made the PERFECT cake for my princess and made her such a happy girl on her birthday. Service was great as the gentleman who helped me knew exactly what I wanted and the cake came out exactly as I had envisioned it. Price was reasonable as I paid less than $100 and mostly importantly, the cake tasted DELICIOUS! 10/10!

Matcha Birthday Cake The cake had a soft sponge and a pleasant mouthfeel. While it was not very sweet and contained lots of fresh grapes, I found the matcha taste to be too light.

    taro crepe take ($8.50)

Great Asian bakery but pricy. My family was getting groceries at Calimart next door, so I popped by Little Swan to grab some dessert for later. Selection was a bit limited as we came in the afternoon around 4:30, but there was still a decent amount available. This place was popping as everyone was coming in to get their last minute Christmas cakes. I picked up two cake slices - the taro crepe cake for $8.50 and the mango mousse cheesecake for $6. We had both cake slices the next day. They were really good, especially the taro crepe cake. I'm generally not a fan of crepe cakes, but I loved the taro one as the taro flavor really came through. I'll definitely have to stop by again next time we're in the area and try some of their pastries and other desserts!

We tried their new item Earl grey Japanese mochi toast for $7. It is very good. Nice moist bread inside with little balls of soft mochi. One dozen wife cake is still at $11. Cheese mochi bread 14 pieces for $7.

This Little Swan Bakery is located on Valley and Almansor inside a strip mall (next to the Sunday Bistro). They always have a lot of people to get pastries there. They have many cake and pastry selections. It's a little bit pricey compared to others but they have fresh pastries and bread. The cakes are pretty. I got a few pastries and bread and they tasted not bad. Overall, I would give them 3.5-4 stars though.

    Salted Egg Yolk Custard Bun

Little Swan Bakery is my new fave bakery in the 626! It's located in a shopping plaza with a large parking lot. I visited the bakery a couple of Sundays ago at around 10am-11am. At that time, the store layout had the grab-and-go breads on the left and tables of mooncakes & box sets on the right. I navigated through small aisles to get the breads and it was a bit cramped with foot traffic. But the breads were sealed and presented nicely, and service was quick! I selected a few breads for breakfast in the coming week, including the Green Onion Bread, Japanese Sweet Potato Bread, Pineapple Bun, and Salted Egg Yolk Custard Bun. My 1st fave was the Salted Egg Yolk Custard Bun; it wasn't too sweet and had a generous amount of custard that paired well with the soft bun. My 2nd fave was the Japanese Sweet Potato Bread; it also wasn't too sweet, and had a flaky top and rich sweet potato paste. All the breads have a standard golden color, which shows consistency and a signature look for the bakery. Their prices are quite affordable compared to other Asian bakery chains, at about $2-$3 per bread. I'm definitely going back to Little Swan Bakery!

The hours are a bit limited, but I managed to make it in time to grab some pre-made baked goods to go. I got a bag of coconut macaroons, bag of several chocolate chip cookies, 2 red velvet cookies, a baked dog cookie biscuit, and a cute Keroppi sugar cookie. Most of these ended up being gifts, but I did enjoy one of the red velvet cookies and for an already sweet flavor profile with white chocolate chips in it, I was already fearing the worse, but went perfect with a glass of milk. The edges were nicely crisped by the baking too. Delicious. Love that they had a stock of cute, pre-decorated cookies available as well (some Sanrio characters, animals, etc.) They also list all the ingredients used in each of the baked goods that they have prepackaged, which is nice. However, I didn't have a good experience with their service. I asked if we can wait for the new batch of portugues tarts because the remaining ones looked too burnt to me. The lady answered" this is how it supposed to look". Then I said there are differences between some of them, because I saw the previous customer got some of the less burnt ones. The attitude of this lady wasn't friendly at all and was very blunt. I didn't feel good after her response but I insisted on waiting for the new batch. Then I saw other customers buying more of the remaining ones and this lady would purposely pick out the less burnt ones for them. So this action shows that she agrees that not all portugués tart are equal! I mean I am glad she is picking out the less burnt ones for those customers but she just conflicted of what she said to me! Only if she explained with a more polite attitude or say I can try my best to pick out the less burnt ones for you. I just do not appreciate people who is not very nice while they are in the customer service industry. I am still giving this place a 4 star because the price is great for the quality of pastries they make! They also provide a very nice box too when you order more egg tarts.

It's also filled with a light, soft cream. DELICIOUS! I arrived at Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel) on a Wednesday (around 3:42PM). Parking is simple. There's a competitive customer parking lot. And there's a city public parking lot about a two minute walk away. Staff is very friendly, professional, and welcoming. Staff maintained a bright smile throughout my visit. Staff immediately helped me. Customers can order at the self-service kiosk or counter; however, the kiosk felt very dated & the prices on the kiosk felt less transparent. I recommend just ordering at the counter. There's no penalty for using card at this donut establishment. As mentioned, I love the Tiramisu Donut ($4.95). It's not too sweet; rather, it all felt balanced. However, this is a VERY messy donut; I recommend eating this donut with a fork and knife. The powder fall everywhere, and your clothes can quickly get stained with chocolate powder. Still, it's a delicious pastry. On ambiance, Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel) is comfortable. This business is more reminiscent of a cafe than a typical donut shop. There's customer internet with password; details on the counter. There's a gender neutral restroom. And there's an electrical outlet & outlet adaptor for devices. The location is fairly small; there's one interior table and one small counter. Fortunately, this place felt airy and well-ventilated. There's also some upbeat, fun music in this clean spot. Overall, I found unexpected joy at Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel). There's sincere passion & hard work within these walls.
