Alright, finally had an opportunity to stop by and try their sushi. We were greeted, seated by the window and reviewed the menu, after spending some time on the menu, we went with the following items: - Sushi Regular Combo (you get a California roll and 5 nigiri) - Sashimi (Yellowtail, Cajun Tuna and Egg - 3 pcs each) - Spicy Tuna - Squid Bomb - Soup and Salad came complimentary with your order So lets start... - Miso Soup: Bland tasting (might be good for healthy purposes), but the soup really lacked that miso punch, very light on miso. They need to add more Miso to improve the taste. - Salad: just ok. - Squid Bomb: They should called this rubber bomb lol, Basically, it's fried squid, but whomever cooked this, they over fried it, thus making it taste like you were chewing on rubber. - Sashimi: -- Yellowtail - fresh and excellent, definitely recommended. -- Cajun Tuna - slices of tuna, torched, sprinkled with Shichimi Togarashi - Japanese Mixed Chili Pepper -- Egg - the egg was seasoned and cooked perfectly - Spicy Tune Roll: Their spicy tuna roll is different from others (different can be good). Tuna is not chopped like others and they've added slices of cucumber. As for flavor department, it was ok, not something I would get again. - California Roll - this was the best roll and the best item amongst all the items we ordered. Some other thoughts; when you walk in through the main door, another door greets you, still trying to determine the purpose of the 2nd door. Momo has a really big menu with all the classic sushi rolls and combos along with a wide selection of special rolls, poke bowls, and sushi burritos. Lots of good options to choose from! I went here with my girlfriend on a Saturday night and we enjoyed the food quite a bit. We got the spicy sushi combo which included three big rolls (california, salmon, tuna). We also got the Mexican roll which was HUGE and very tasty - lots of different fish pieces inside a thick and crispy tempura shell. Both were $13-15. Seaweed salad was good too. Only negative about the food is that the side salad that comes with the entrees is a bit small. Overall I would recommend this place based on the food quality and value alone. The ambience set this place back a bit. It is located in a strip mall so doesn't have much charm. The inside is bare bones and it was freezing the night we went--they set the thermostat at 64 degrees and my girlfriend had to wear her jacket the whole time. I've enjoyed sushi burritos for a few years now during visits to the Yelp HQ in San Francisco and have always wanted a spot to show up closer to home. Others have popped up in Metro-Detroit but when I saw Momo open a mere 10 minutes from my house I was PUMPED. Earlier this week my husband was out for the evening so I jumped at my chance for tasty take out. It was so so great. I went with the Momo Burrito which is tuna, salmon, tamago, tobiko, masago, cucumber, avocado, lettuce, crunch and eel sauce. It was a really good size (far more filling than your typical sushi rolls) and delicious. I also got the salmon nigiri because I judge a sushi place based on how good their salmon is by itself and this one was buttery and melt in your mouth perfect. Takeout was a breeze. I gave them a quick ring and it was ready 20 minutes later. And the woman taking my order and prepping the takeout was incredibly friendly. Their location is in a convenient strip mall (aka, parking is a cinch) but there is some nice casual seating should you decide to eat in. Their menu also consists of plenty of rolls as well as poke bowls, ramen, udon, katsu, bibimbop and more should you choose to do something different. Oh yeah this place is worthy of five stars. I was in the mood for sushimi so I ordered a scallop, regular tuna, and salmon. All tasted very fresh and were beautifully presented. I also wanted to have some tobiko and that also came out beautifully presented. I have never seen a restaurant create a little cup out of a cucumber before and serve roe from there. I don't remember the exact name of what my husband ordered but it was something like a spicy shrimp burrito. That tasted incredible! I kept trading my husband a piece of fish for another bite of his burrito. It was a very cold evening so we ordered some ginger tea. It came out blazing hot. Very delicate flavor. My family kids aged 10 and 6 loved this place! Service was amazing and we ordered seconds. Everyone was so friendly. We live out of town and wanted to end our vaca with a bang and this fit the bill!! We got a range of rolls, the kids loved the tuna rolls and we got the Michigan roll! Amaze! With apps as well! We will be back next time we drive through! This place by far has one of the most valuable lunch specials in the area! You can get 3 basic rolls (e.g. california, tuna, spicy salmon, etc.) for $12 AND it comes with both a house salad and miso soup. Quality of the sushi was better than most places and even the leftovers for dinner still tasted fresh. I especially enjoyed their Fire Cracker appetizer, with just the right amount of breading, stuffing, and jalapeno spice - I would truly recommend this if you're craving an appetizer as well. Overall, I would definitely give this place a try but they can be on the pricer end of some dishes/rolls without the lunch special. Alright momo sushi!!! Came here on a whim on a Tuesday evening. We were seated promptly. We got the fried tofu and tempura veggies to start and everything was fried perfectly and not too oily! Was craving some sushi so dropped by Momo. For app we ordered the Agedashi Tofu. It was nice and crispy but nothing too special, and a bit overpriced. We ordered one burrito each (Momo and Dragon), plus two simple rolls (salmon and spicy escolar). The fish was very fresh, and I really liked the spicy escolar roll. The prices for the burritos and rolls are pretty worth. The one downside I didn't like about the place was that the hot kitchen where they fried tempura was right next to us, so we left smelling a bit like fried foods. Very much not impressed by the rice to content ratio of their sushi (see photo). A double layer of rice is not appropriate and seems like they are skimping out on the customer. Their rolls, while with fun names, are largely reliant on tempura (who doesn't love fried food) rather than tasteful and tasty combinations for their rolls. They also don't have unagi combo rolls, which is a shame. Their fish freshness is average, and their nigiri is acceptably average as well. Willing to try again for the sushirritos, but would not recommend a sushi dinner night here. read more

Executive summary: Great to good sushi, friendly service, mediocre Korean dishes, and not-worth-paying-for bubble tea. Overall it's a good sushi place to go, especially for lunch specials and sushi roll combos. Rice used are fair to good quality, tuna and salmon used in rolls were good (tasted fresh), and rolls are made nicely (not too tight or loose, as you'd experience at not properly trained sushi chef). It's a sushi place so I should have skipped, but tried two different Korean dishes: seafood sundobu and seafood ramen. Both were mediocre at best and I felt overpriced for what you get (compared to other places, quality, and considering ingredients used). Glad I've tried but I'll not not make the same mistake again. And the bubble tea - perhaps not too bad for what you pay for, $3.50, but what's served is flavored powder with water and bubble (or other topping choices). Yes the full-time bubble tea shops/places charge $5.00 and up, so $3.50 is cheaper in comparison. Though you get what you pay for. I'd rather spend $3.50 to buy a pint of Haagen-Dazs ice cream. Oh and one more thing - watch out for those little charges for hot tea, rice, etc. $1 and $2 here and there add up. Next I'll stick with sushi dish/choices. I really love when the contemporary sushi places. They experiment, take risks and produce some really phenomenal sushi. Tge hospitality is amazing, the staff is attentive and the place has a nice, cozy and quiet vibe to it. I tried shrimp shumai, octopus salad and Scotland role and all of them tasted amazing! Scotland role almost feels like it explodes in your mouth with ton of flavors, and it slowly melts away. I'm about half an hour away drive from this place but I certainly would be willing to make it more often, just for this place. read more

We visited Momo to try our first sushi burritos and gosh were we happy! They are $12-$14 but stuffed full of satisfying ingredients so are perfect for a light lunch. My Momo Burrito had delicious marinated salmon and tuna plus four different colors of tobiko. The Philadelphia Burrito had a huge stick of cream cheese. Burritos come with your choice of dipping sauce, but that isn't mentioned on the menu and there is no list of options. They started us with free soup or salad although that isn't mentioned on the menu either. Momo is very kid friendly. The crab logo is adorable and our waitress gave us chopstick holders. They offer a $7 kids meal with 2 shrimp tempura, rice, miso soup, and edamame. Big enough to split between two little ones. So many more interesting things I want to try, like squid bomb, eggplant warmer, cupbob... We will return for sure! read more

Me and my friends have a usual sushi place in Ann Arbor, but we saw Momo Sushi had just opened up a month ago so we decided to give it a try. We went for lunch and when I arrived, I was the first customer of the day. It was eerily quiet but after I was seated, they turned on some ambient music. I would recommend sitting in the front since the wide, open window walls make for great lighting. We and my friend looked through the menu and decided on their lunch special -- they have Katsu, Bibimbap, Udon and Sushi combinations. We both went with the 3 sushi rolls for $12 which seemed like a good deal on top of the free ginger dressing salad and miso soup that comes with the lunch special. I picked the spicy salmon, spicy escolar, and sweet potato roll -- WOW, these were super tasty. They all were really fresh and generously portioned. The sweet potato roll is a thicker roll so they give you a few less pieces but it was perfectly fried. My friend tried their chicken tempura roll and it was similar to the sweet potato roll. I typically find that salmon is my favorite fish for sushi rolls but the escolar was just as good! It's a type of white fish but isn't very fishy and has a smooth taste to it. Momo Sushi may become my new go-to sushi restaurant in Ann Arbor, and I'm excited to try their other dishes like sushi burritos and other entrees. New place in town! This place serves modern Americanized Japanese food and some Korean. The menu is extensive and it took some time to decide what to get. Lunch sets were still available on Sunday. The service and visual aspects such as decor/plating were superb. This does NOT give off a dodgy pseudo-Asian or 20-years-in-the-family-tastes-good-but-questionable-hygiene vibe, unlike a lot of other sushi places around here. It was super clean and modern, with live orchids adorning our table. In that sense, this place is probably good to bring a date if you want sushi with some ambiance. In terms of service, they were super accommodating to our big group which included kids. While the restaurant wasn't that big overall, they easily pulled together tables to form a long column for us. We had 13 people including kids, and were able to get a kid chair too. They also went above and beyond for our birthday boy. While they didn't have a policy of doing something special for birthdays, our server did magically get him a green tea ice cream (which I can recommend!) and they allowed us to serve our cake there. The reason why this does not get a 5 stars was that the yum yum sauce served with my salmon poke bowl was just really really off. It tasted like lemon curd... like it was meant to be dessert. The sweet creamy texture did not go well with my raw food at all - it could have gone with crispy tempura or something, but not with my bowl. To be fair, there were other sauces available... but there were no recommended sauces indicated on the menu, which could be a great addition. I only found out after my order that the spicy ponzu sauce was recommended! The raw salmon itself seemed decent in terms of freshness. My other friends seemed perfectly happy with their orders though, including the friend who went vegetarian. In terms of items to order, they do this interesting thing called a sushi burrito, which is sushi rice and fillings in a wrap. You can change the wrap to seaweed instead of a flour tortilla. And apparently the dolsot bibimbap was ok too. So would highly recommend checking this place out! read more

The server Ethan, was polite, prompt and said my order would be about 15 minutes. 4 minutes later. Voila. Poke bowl. The toppings fresh and overall taste fantastic. Went with the spicy sauce(not spicy), but still delicious. Ginger dressing that came with the included salad(could have had maybe a tad more lettuce in here-pic) was some of the best I can recall having. Excited to return to try a ramen dish or the sushi burritos(I inherently love burritos). I came to this sushi restaurant because I heard it was good but it honestly is pretty average, granted that most of the sushi restaurants in Ann Arbor are not anything special. The California roll I had was very plain and was not the most appetizing and the momo roll was ok but also not special even though I do like that they tried by adding some gold flakes. Gold flakes however do not help with the taste but just increases the appearance.
