Great place! Love their omelettes and coffee. My wife's and my new favorite is their cabbage hash-browns. Service is always great as well.

We have been eating here every Saturday and Sunday for the last 3 years, even when it was House Cafe. The food is good. The prices have went up with new ownership; I guess to off set the renovation expenses. We have our favorite servers who we ask for and know will given good service, but the rest are young and don't give a great service. The owners are not to nice to employees. read more

We usually order Mom's through a food delivery service, but a few weekends ago the husband and I had some time without the kids and thought we would go dine in! When we got there we realized they were closing relatively soon, but since we knew what we wanted we went on in! In most cases (I know from working years in the service industry) the food and service for last minute customers is lackluster, but so not the case here!!! We were greeted by all staff individually, checked on regularly, our service was impeccable and our food was hot and fresh! It was no surprise to us considering how delicious the take out is! The only place in Allen where you can get great breakfast and lunch food, with the most amazing friendly service, comfortable cozy atmosphere that feels like home and honest hard working management and staff. Today, July 7, 2017, I attempted to order from Mom's Café in Allen, Texas via Grubhub. I confirmed that the hours of operation on this day are 11 AM to 11 PM as per your restaurant's hours which are posted on GrubHub. GrubHub had to cancel my $50 order because no one would EVER answer the phone at the restaurant!!! I also attempted to call the restaurant twice and was unable to get through AS NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE and there is no voicemail option available. If the restaurant is going to use Grubhub, then you need to answer your telephone! What poor customer service! I'm going to Yelp this, Facebook review it, put it out on Grubhub, DoorDash, EVERYWHERE that I can put it. If I could've given less than one star, I would have!!! How disappointing. I was hoping this place would be a fun alternative to a chain restaurant but should have read the reviews first. I'm glad I finally did read them though because I don't feel like I was missing something. Well, we were missing silverware at the table, the food we ordered after 30 mins and a waitress that didn't bother to return after taking our order to refill our drinks or give us the status report on our order. So disappointed! We finally had to ask them to just box it all because it had been so long 35 mins plus and had to get on with our day. I can understand problems can happen but why the lack of communication and basic service? It was like they weren't even trying. Prices were very high for this kind of operation. I have eaten the Migas breakfast for many years from many different places. On Saturday 6-10-17, I will remember it as the best Migas I have ever eaten. The spices were perfect. The peppers, onions, corn tortillas, sausage, cheese and tomatoes were plentiful and cooked perfectly. The country potatoes were delicious and a perfect add-on. The coffee was great. Completely Disappointed! I ate in Mom's for the first time today and was disappointed. When we walked in the hostess asked how many and pointed for us to have a seat after taking our name. She came over 2 minutes later and asked if we were waiting for a table! Really... No biggie at this point, but oh did it set the tone!! Anyway we get seated and then asked for our drink order by the hostess. 10 minutes later our waitress came and asked if we had drinks by the looks of our table it was obvious we didn't!! She said I will get them I am your server... Great I am thinking at this point!! She had a 4 table section with two of her tables served. So not sure how she was struggling! Anyway, she comes back and gets our food order. We wait and wait and wait. When a young man comes to our table with a tray of food and ask... Is this your food??? WTH how do I know... while he is reaching up to touch his nose while holding the tray of food!!!!! Yuck yuck yuck! Finally after 30 minutes of waiting the waitress brings our cold food to the table and drops the check. Which is fine with me I would rather get my ticket instantly then have to wait for it, but that's me. Anyway I look and see my daughter was charged $2.50 for a chocolate milk which okay, but at least fill the cup up and not half full. I go an pay and the cashier is ringing up the charges. Never asked how was everything so I say... Do you own this place. She says I am part owner. So I basically tell her everything I am putting here and she said ok thank you!!! Like really... Don't go here...This used to be our favorite when it was the house cafe. I ordered a water and they gave me a coffee with lipstick stains on the cup. First time here- long time Allen residents. Server was sweet and very busy. Longest wait we had was to place food order but once ordered - food came in a reasonable amount of time. Coffee was so-so. My husband likes his coffee strong. As we sat waiting we read reviews so we got scared and didn't know what to expect but have to say the breakfast wasn't that bad. Taste was good but not much was homemade. I ordered biscuits and gravy eggs and bacon. Gravy was again, tasty but definitely instant (no scraps of bacon or sausage) I can't say 100% but I think the biscuits were homemade. eggs were done perfectly. Bacon was good. The cafe itself was nice visually like you would expect from a diner. We started a timer just for fun and we were in and out in 30 mins so not too bad. My family of four adults arrived around 7:30 pm last night. There were three other diners in the place. We did not have to wait long for our food but the quality was mediocre at best. Server Alexa very nice. Vegetables were canned. Fruit was canned. They were out of the homemade chocolate pie... so we waited about 25 minutes for a new one to be made. The homemade pie was: 2 graham crackers with instant chocolate pudding, covered with RediWhip and some chocolate chips. I know because I saw the whipped cream added thru the kitchen window. There final straw was when an employee started mopping the floor while waiting on dessert. I almost fell walking to find Alexa to say forget dessert. We will never go back. read more

New Owner is rude and disrespectful to employees and customers. We have been there many times since ownership changed and service has been kind of a mess but no big deal. Unfortunately we will not be going back after today. It wasn't packed but was a busy morning. They were understaffed for a Saturday morning it seemed. Our server was overwhelmed but very respectful and apologetic and doing her best. She wasn't the only one who was overwhelmed. There were 5 in our party and our drink order and food order came at all different times and some of it was not correct when it came out. It just seemed disorganized and seems to be bad communication between the kitchen and staff. The food tasted fine but was nothing special as usual. When we challenged the bill which was incorrect the manager/owner became rude and disrespectful to us and our server. He rudely told us that the server would have to pay for what we didn't. I feel sorry for our server and suggested she work somewhere where she is more valued as an employee. It's obvious the chaos comes from the top down in this place. They are currently hiring and it's obvious why he needs staff - I doubt he keeps anyone on staff long the way he treats people.
