I never write reviews, but I had to for Mom's Kitchen! This place is a new family favorite! Everything is great, the biscuits were buttery, the pancakes were fluffy, the homemade hash was delicious, the eggs Benedict was amazing! The Chef also brought around warm cinnamon roll samples while we were waiting for our food! The waitress and the staff couldn't be any nicer! I loved how we could watch them cook and they would check in with us to see how we were liking everything. What a great find. It is just a nice small breakfast and lunch joint with great food and staff. It was right by our hotel and we decided to give it a try - thank goodness we did. It was delicious. First time at Mom's Kitchen and definitely won't be the last. We are definitely getting addicted to the Gloucester area and although we live in New Hampshire......the area has become our "go to" area for yummy chocolates (Turtle Alley) and wonderful places to eat. This restaurant had such a warm, homey feeling! The breakfast was absolutely delicious and when we met Eleanor...realized the major ingredient of LOVE was why this place is amazing. Their veggie and cheese omelet was the best I've ever had! It was full of veggies - broccoli, zucchini, squash, red peppers - and cheese! And the homefries were great as well. We had a great breakfast at Mom's. It felt like sitting in your own kitchen. Small place with super friendly service and generous portions. We had veggie omelets, full of freshly cooked per order vegies with home potatoes. Tried Anadama bread for the first time, a local specialty. Great story about how the bread got its name. Naked breakfast burrito was huge. Left stuffed and ready for the day. If we would have been back in the area that afternoon before they closed we were eyeing the fresh banana cream pie being made in front of us. If we find ourselves in Gloucester again we'll be back. This is difficult to rate... Waitress 0 stars, food 5 stars. This was my second visit and both times the food was excellent: tasty, cooked right, reasonably priced. First time I had homemade hash and eggs, my friend had a meatloaf omelet ... Both amazing. This time I got a scramble with veggies, with thick cut bacon and grilled English muffin ... Generous helping, delicious. But our waitress: rolled her eyes or sighed with every question. I don't think it was unreasonable to ask her to wipe down our dirty table, or bring us our check, or take the item off the bill we didn't order (for that one, I got stared down for a full ten seconds before the eyeroll/sigh combo). My friend never got her coffee refilled, we got our own silverware, I asked for water 3 times and finally received it after the check. Will I go back? Maybe... This was the best brunch in Gloucester! This quaint kitchen is full of delicious food that hit the spot. Our party of four got different items on the menu and we were all satisfied! Went to Boston with my fam for the first time and went to this breakfast joint a quick walk from the Gloucester hotel we were staying at. We were going whale watching and needed a quick meal. This was the best joint!! The breakfast was to die for and the atmosphere was like I was right at home. Locals and visitors, please be sure to try! I lived outside of Gloucester before so never tried Tucker's. Mom's is a convenient walk for me now however it's not about the convenience. I have really enjoyed what I have tried so far and for breakfast that includes chefs veggies, best poached eggs ever, fantastic homemade corn beef hash (I request not crispy). The muffins look amazing and the corn bread is very moist and highly recommend. For lunch every soup I've tried I've totally enjoyed. Their cabbage rolls are insane. Turkey wraps are also fantastic with freshly roasted turkey and homemade stuffing. I've never tried their deserts however they look wonderful and all homemade. Recently I also heard Mudiga steak might be in their future! When you're out and about in downtown Gloucester, Mom's kitchen is just a few steps away. It's very quaint.
