I will still give them the stars they deserve even though they changed their name...inside is "freshened up" seems like new owners or Management but that wasn't clear. Food is still excellent, eggs that are well prepared and ripe, yummy fruit when requested as a side. I'm a sucker for the ABC omelette, but you really can't go wrong with breakfast here. I have yet to be here for lunch, but I imagine its equally good. I will miss Allen's but will certainly continue to be a fan! read more

I remember ordering here through DoorDash and when I tried the biscuits & gravy I couldn't stop ordering here Then one day I brought my wife and son here and received some of the best customer service I've ever witnessed. The place is small but very homey and unique which was a fun experience. My husband and I went in for breakfast this morning. My husband had the country fried steak and I had a green chili and cheese omelette. The food was delicious. The gravy was out standing on the country fried steak. The food was hot and the prices were great. We will be back again. read more

A breakfast joint that is straight to the point in old and new styles of appetite. The wait can be long but you can wonder around the back boutique that has some cute stuff for home, events and kids. This place changed ownership from Allen's Alley where the breakfast was fairly well priced and good. Now it's not the same. Overpriced mediocre breakfast that would have been the same at Denny's at half the price. Sorry guys but you mediocrity doesn't work anymore in today's world. read more

You expect a bell to ring when you walk thru the door of this older slightly run down, yet cozy bungalow looking resturant. this may appeal to those who may be looking for something off the beaten path or if you want to plan a heist in the 90's. The Staff is warm and friendly and ready to greet you the moment you walk in but beware the small intimate confines of the restaurant it easily gets crowded and you may have a wait ahead of you. The Coffee is weak to the point of tea and the Juice is either powder or from concentrate (I'm not sure) but it dose come in adorable Mason Jar. The only thing that sticks out to me really is the odd lack of napkins and the aforementioned Mason Jars. Now the food, notice how I didn't mention the food as "sticking out" thats because it's fine, it's the can't we just be friends of breakfast places, it's the John Cusack of breakfast food. If you want someplace secluded but packed with people or if you want place where people will learn your name, and you want food you honestly could make at home or get at a Denny's like resturant for the same price go to Mom's Kitchen the home of "Ehh its fine." read more

This place is the gem for breakfast in Vista Village or Vista in general. Everything they make is delicious, the staff is very friendly and its in a nice peaceful spot in Vista. The first time I ever went here I got the Denver scramble with English muffin and another side of Cinnamon roll pancakes. They were DELICIOUS! Please try those pancakes on the side.. Good food, not the best customer service. Me and my daughter were waiting outside to be seated, and another family came up to wait and the girl with the pony tail completely ignored us!! Brand new to the area, so we need a new breakfast tradition. Mom's Kitchen is definitely the place to go! Great atmosphere, it's a great place to bring the whole family:) I saw all these reviews and saw that Amanda is quite the server. But I was lucky enough to meet Ray and Kaitlyn, two great ladies who provided not only excellent customer service, but we're two of the nicest and friendliest servers I've had in General. Signed in and sat for 15 min in the sun. Another couple comes up and signs in. Hostess comes out and acknowledgs them right away, than us. Two tables open in the alley. Right away the other couple takes priority with the server (SMH). I flipping hate that sht. But I keep my peace. Ordered two omlet plates and wait. The alley really sucks as outdoor seating. The trash cans, dirty bldg and awnings, constant smell of trash and cleaning chemicals, vehicles passing, bums continue to come up to the tables to beg money. After an hour into this and the couple that came 15 min after us gets their two breakfast plates. I'm flipping steaming, but still keep my peace. 15 min later and the couple are done eating. Waitress filled drinks for us once. Spent rest of the time cleaning and stacking tables/chairs. F this we are leaving. Step inside to let them know not happy and see other diners that arrived way after us with food. Workers "oh, ok sorry". read more
