During a recent visit to the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, my friend and I went to Stripsteak on our first night in Las Vegas. We made a reservation a few days prior to our visit using Open Table. In fact, we scored 1,000 points for that particular reservation. You can also use the website to make a reservation. The food was good, the service was good, and the experience was good. Staying at the Mandalay Bay with The Hotel Collection reservation, we received a $100 credit which we chose to use at StripSteak. We both were craving some good steak, and upon sitting down, we realized we could participate in Las Vegas Restaurant Week, which for $99 per person, you could receive three separate courses. The first course included a choice between a mixed green salad, braised pork belly, caesar salad, or shrimp cocktail. The second course included a choice between a 6 oz center-cut filet mignon, Atlantic salmon, Mary's free-range roasted chicken, and a cowboy ribeye for $24 extra. The third course included a chocolate molten cake sundae. As the entrees didn't come with sides, we ordered some whipped potatoes. What we didn't expect was a complimentary order of a trio of duck fat fries. I personally ordered the Las Vegas Restaurant Week special with the caesar salad, the 6 oz center-cut filet mignon, and the chocolate molten cake sundae. The caesar salad tasted like a traditional salad but came with tempura white anchovy, which I didn't know what it was until after I tried it. The filet mignon was ordered medium-well but in future thought, I should have done medium or medium plus as it was too well done at medium well. The dessert was delicious though quite filling. Everything was still tasty though I may make orders differently in the future. StripSteak Las Vegas is considered to be a modern American steakhouse combined with an inventive and highly curated menu offering guests the best seafood and signature cuts of premium beef as well as classic favorites. You walk in, it's all sleek lighting, sharp décor, and "someone here definitely ordered a bottle worth more than my rent" energy. But unlike some Vegas spots that care more about the scene than the food, StripSteak actually delivers. The steak? Ridiculous. Perfect crust, melt-in-your-mouth center, and seasoned like the kitchen has zero interest in playing it safe. Even the sides feel main-character worthy. The duck fat fries alone deserve their own billboard on the Strip. Cocktails come out looking fancy enough for Instagram but strong enough to remind you you're still in Vegas. This place is a three star experience at 5 star pricing. Everything is à la carte. I get it, it's on the strip so, that is to be expected. They called us and text us to confirm our reservation. They said the place was going to be packed. It was 20% full at best. The miso cod fish was overly fishy. Hopefully things will Improve. We wanted a drink and some conversation and the bars in the casino are so loud and we stumbled upon this place and it was perfect. Definitely a steak house atmosphere and I loved it. I wish we hadn't already eaten dinner because this place would have been perfect. We were able to sit at the bar and after looking at the nice cocktail menu, I settled on an espresso martini. It was prepared quickly and was nice and cold and was excellent. The bartender was friendly and I had a nice experience. We were looking for a place to grab a nice steak on our last night in town. After a decent amount of research, we ended up on STRIPSTEAK for a few reasons. Great value relative to the filet you get, plus we're previously fans of Michael Mina. STRIPSTEAK is located within the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The vibes are classier, but you know... it's Vegas. DRINKS: They have a solid menu featuring wines by the glass, spirits, specialty cocktails, as well as classic cocktails. I would expect they also have beer, NA options, and the ability to make custom drinks. This trip we were feeling cocktail-y, and went with: -Orchard Smash ($22) - This was very good, combining the flavors of bourbon and vanilla vodka. With a slight hint of sour green apple, this was a lovely cocktail. -Empress In Pink ($24) - A deliciously refreshing drink with a beautiful pink hue. Crisp and tasty! FOOD: This was the main reason we came here. We had been craving a filet as of late, and this one seemed like a good bet. Here's what we got: -Trio of Duck Fat Fries ($16) - These actually came as complements of the house. I've seen others post about this since, so it seems like this is somewhat a thing. While I no longer feel as special as I previously did (lol), we very much appreciated the gesture as we LOVE fries, especially cooked in duck fat! It came with a trio of dipping sauces (ketchup, truffle aioli, buffalo ranch), all of which were delicious! -Bread Service for the Table ($8) - This is perfect for anybody that likes carbs! The loaf was separated into 4 pieces, topped with some seasoning, and served with a side of roasted garlic butter. YUM! -Half Dozen Oysters ($30) - You can choose between East Coast and West Coast, but we all know that the West Coast is the best coast! These were solid in size and very flavorful. It was difficult not to order another half-dozen! -Lobster Tacos ($26) - These were on the "Specials of the Day" menu, so possibly not always available. It came with 3 in the order, and they were loaded with lobster. The mango on top was a nice contrast. With two people sharing, I wish it had come with 4 tacos in the order. -8 oz Center-Cut Filet Mignon ($76) - We both ordered this--I got mine Medium, and the wifey got hers Medium-Rare. They came out perfectly grilled on the outside, and pink on the inside. The flavor was outstanding, and the char on the outside was perfect. The steaks are all finished with a Red Wine-Shallot Butter, which only adds to the epicness of flavor. They have a list of "Enhancements & Additions", such as Half Lobster, Grilled Prawns, Foie Gras, Crab Oscar, and Bone Marrow. We opted for the Grilled Prawns ($20) and Bone Marrow ($24)--both were exceptional! The prawns had an amazing char-grilled taste, and the bone marrow was awesome scooped onto the steak, and on its own! They also have a solid list of sauce options. There is a "Sauce Trio" ($11) which comes with Chimichurri, Béarnaise, and their signature STRIPSTEAK Sauce. They also offer Bordelaise, Creamy Horseradish, and Peppercorn. Since they're all the same price ($4/ea), we were able to customize our own trio! Lastly for the steaks, they offer "Toppings", which include a Blue Cheese Crumble and Bone Marrow-Black Truffle Butter. We didn't try either, but the latter specifically sounds intriguing for next time. -Loaded Baked Potato ($19) - This was one of 8 side options they have. We love loaded potatoes, and the description of bacon and smoked Gouda was delicious and unique enough to peak our interest. We were glad we ordered it, because it was delicious! Other side options include: Whipped Potatoes, Creamed Spinach, Mushroom Trio, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Pork Belly Fried Rice, Black Truffle Mac 'N Cheese, and the Duck Fat Fries. OVERALL: This was an absolutely incredible and memorable meal. We were celebrating an anniversary, and they made sure to acknowledge that. Our server, David, was great! He was friendly, gave recommendations, and was a pleasure to interact with. Shout-out to all the BOH staff churning out banger after banger, and one of the best steaks we can remember having! First time trying this restaurant while we were on vacation in Vegas. We came here because friends and family raved about this restaurant. We were in luck because they had a chef's tasting menu that allowed us to try smaller portions of many of their most popular dishes. There was more than enough food to go around. The dining room is very large, modern and well laid out. All the servers were exceptional and provided the highest level of service. They serve complimentary fries that are fried in duck fat, which makes it extra crispy and tasty, and it comes flavored in 3 different seasonings. The shrimp cocktail from the tasting menu was extremely nicely presented and probably the largest shrimp I have ever had in a shrimp cocktail. The nori hamachi sushi taco was amazing, along with the pork belly fried rice. The wagyu rib cap was delicious, melted in your mouth and the truffle mac n cheese was the perfect pairing to go with it along with the grilled broccolini. We've eaten here 3 times now. All three times, the steak has been cooked perfectly, and the fries are delicious. I am super glad I decided to make reservations earlier in the day because it was the busiest we've ever seen it - that's a good thing. Due to it being super busy, the wait on our steaks did take abnormally longer. Strip steak does change their menu from time to time, so we also try something new every time we go, although I still remember one item that I wish they would bring back. Easy to make a reservation and we were promptly seated in a nice booth. No smoke from casino which was a bonus. The food was great we shared oysters, poke and a filet mignon. The steak was cooked rare to perfection which is unfortunately hard to find in Vegas. The oysters were tasty though a bit small. My husband, daughter, and I came here for dinner before a show. We had a reservation for 7:00. We got sat and greeted by our server right away. They brought over complimentary fries paired with dipping sauces. We ordered the scallops, 8 oz filet, and the chicken for our meals with the broccolini and mashed potatoes for the table to share. The steak came out perfect!! We ordered it medium rare and it was juicy and flavorful. The scallops were cooked perfectly and came with a delicious sauce. The mashed potato's were so fluffy and flavorful. The chicken was a different story. The only way I can think to describe it is the texture was like hard jello. It didn't look like real chicken meat - instead like it was minced and pressed back together and then cooked. My husband always orders the chicken at steakhouses as he's not a steak person. This was definitely not a normal experience for him when he has ordered chicken at other places. The chicken here just wasn't right. He didn't eat that part of his entree. So much better than the Japanese restaurant I tried them at last night. The green garnish on top is such a cute touch! The salmon and sea bass are delicious. In town for the PPAI Convention at Mandalay Bay and decided to hit StripSteak after a coworker recommendation... SO glad we did. Everything was on point. I had the filet mignon (chef's kiss), my wife went with the salmon, and my brother-in-law crushed the ribeye -- all incredible. And the sides? Absolutely off the hook. Zero misses at the table. Huge shoutout to our waiter Glen -- seriously top-notch. We had a couple people with food allergies and he handled it like a pro. The place was packed and the kitchen was in full-on rush mode, but Glen kept us taken care of and made sure we never felt forgotten. Service was good, a few particular servers were really great, then the others were ok. We celebrated a birthday but we all walked away feeling ripped off unfortunately. A little disappointed in this place. The price point is exceptionally high, but the food is not exceptional. I did the tasting menu and felt like everything was mediocre. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Most of the food would have a good first impression at the initial bite, but quickly became uninteresting after that. The time it took to order (even just drinks) was so long they comped some fries, which ended up as the first thing we ate. Not a great choice and it may partly explain why the dishes were subsequently blasé. My one strong critique is that the plating was genuinely awful. It does not reflect the amount you guys are charging. There's a gulf of difference between simple and elegant. Yelp is weird when I include prices in reviews, but let me just tell you that whatever you think they're charging...double it. Finally, there was a table of pseudo-influencers that had a literal camera light attached to their phone. They were waving it around, blinding the dinner guests, and none of the wait staff did anything about it. In fact, they recruited their server to play along with some bullshit TikTok video, and it was both uncomfortable to watch and highly distracting from the dining experience. Don't let these people take advantage of you, especially at the expense of your guests. I would not go here again. I ended up trying the new Wolfgang Puck restaurant right nearby, and it was mind blowing by comparison. read more

If in Vegas and you want a great steak, there are so many options and several we've experienced. I highly recommend Stripsteak. It's #5 on the list I've been following. But it's also the same chef as the #1 Bourbon Steak in Dana Point, California. Both are Chef Michael Mina restaurants. And, Bourbon Steak is now at the Four Seasons here in Vegas too. Steak on its own is fabulous. He does a Pork Belly Fried Rice at both establishments and it's amazing. Not your usual accompaniment to a steak but it's really wonderful. read more

Ate here with a large group the other night. Food was all around great minus a couple of small things. The complimentary fries starter is a win, the dill ones were my fave. We started out with the crispy tuna rice (4.5/5), the beef tartare (2/5; no egg yolk, super dry, pretty bland), and two of their specials: lobster tacos (4/5) and tomato/burrata salad (4/5). We also got bread service- pretty dry, nothing special, wouldn't order again. I went with the wagyu NY strip- it was excellent. Cooked and seasoned perfectly, nice and juicy! We gave a handful of sides to our server to order for the table and she only brought out one of each- not even close to enough for 12 people. We asked for another round of them and they were brought out pretty efficiently. Mac and cheese (5/5) Creamed corn (5/5) Pork belly fried rice (5/5) Green beans (3/5) Rounded out the meal with beignets. They were light and tasty but the sauces were thick and couldn't really dip or drizzle them at all. Overall pleased with the meal! read more

FINAL MEAT AT MANDALAY BAY My friend had a medical conference at Mandalay Bay in April for two days that started two days after Easter. During those two days I ate three meals at Mandalay Bay. StripSteak was my third and final meal at Mandalay Bay. I was going to be ambitious by order a steak and duck fat prime rib. However that would be crazy to order two main beef entrées as not only would the meal be too rich, but also dinner would be too expensive. I'm a big believer of ordering food that has the name of the restaurant. Therefore I ordered a NY strip steak. I can always come back to StripSteak for the duck fat prime rib. For beverage I decided to get a unique Bloody Mary, which was The Kentucky Derby. I'm a big horse racing fan and decided to order that cocktail. For sides I choose spicy pork belly fried rice - the Filipino in me needs rice with steak. The first item to arrive was the complimentary duck fat fries. Since the fries were fried in duck fat, I'm even more glad I didn't order the duck fat prime rib that Thursday night. There were three dipping sauces. The fries initially weren't heavy. The more you eat duck fat fries you will get full especially if you have steak. The Brandt NY strip steak and spicy pork belly arrived at the same time. The spicy pork belly fried rice was a disappointment. First there was no flavor as I couldn't taste the pork belly. Second the rice was mushy. I said the Filipino in me ordered rice, but when I go to steakhouses I usually get mushrooms. If there is no plain white rice as a side order, then next time I'll order mushrooms. The worst thing could be is I enjoyed my fried rice, but I hated the steak. The NY strip steak had the crusty exterior with the juicy inside. The steak more than made up for the fried rice. The Kentucky Derby was a refreshing cocktail that balanced the richness of the strip steak and duck fat fries. This version of Bloody Mary wasn't heavily tomato juice based. Yet one of the key ingredients wasn't vodka but bourbon, which you see in mint julep - the official cocktail of the Kentucky Derby. So The Kentucky Derby I drank at StripSteak was unique because the alcohol wasn't acidic but the bourbon made the cocktail soothing. There was a balance between tomato juice and alcohol. The Kentucky Derby at StripSteak could be the best version of Bloody Mary I ever had. (Disclaimer this cocktail probably gave me good luck because two weeks later I wagered an exacta and trifecta boxes on the Kentucky Derby and won $788.) When I travel back to Vegas I sometimes go to same restaurants I enjoyed eating while trying new items. Since I enjoyed my first time at StripSteak I'll come back here again for the duck fat prime rib. read more

We decided to get some food prior to The Weeknd concert. They were open and we were delighted to dine in. Service is great. Good was brought out asap after ready. We were served by different members of the staff. I loved the teamwork. The restaurant is beautiful and located inside Mandalay Bay. It is like most fine-dine restaurants, it just has that sleek and clean look to their decor and furniture. You just know where you are, when you walk in, an expensive place. We were all prepared for this. Tonight was going to be our steak night and we are well prepared. We ordered drinks and food. As the time went by you just know you have great services on hand. There's no complaints here. Then the drinks and food came everything is just wonderful. I ordered the GBU Bloody Mary, more like I think margarita which is that's what it's called. It comes with three glasses which you mix it yourself, tequila, Bloody Mary mix, and a beer. It's alright, but I was not going for that. I mean the server did warned me that I wouldn't like it, but I wanted to try it. But it was different unlike other steakhouse there would be tons of drinks on the drink menu, however there was very few tequila base drinks. They had a lot of vodka drinks. I guessed I should have ordered wine to go with my steak, but they really don't sell it by the glasses. I don't remember any that was sold by glasses, there were most by bottles. So maybe that's the disappointing part about this restaurant. But other than that everything else amazing. There seemed to be a theme here though, a handful of items on the menu are made with duck fats. I don't know anything about duck fats. I mean I can eat it. But is it trending or is there any health benefits to it? Let's not forget that we came here for the steak. Yes! Our highlight of the night was the filet mignon. And it was oh-yeah delish moment. Let's give it a moment of silent. And let's not forget and let's give it a shoutout to the chefs who made this steak so so tender and perfectly cooked so we can enjoyed it. I ate every piece of that 8oz. I think all three of us who ordered it did. I have to say definitely one of the most tender steak I have ever had. One of my friends ordered the jidori chicken was so tender and moist. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. The Mac and cheese oh it's one of the best Mac and cheese I've ever had. The steaksFor dessert no one wanted anything but one of my friends ordered the beignets that came with a trio sauce. So I had a beignets with the sauces was delicious. However, the beignets was such a difference from any beignets I had in the past. It was a little doughy, leaned more towards a doughnut like than a beignets I think. But it was good just different. Let's just say our night at the Strip was definitely satisfying having had the filet mignon. I don't know if I would have felt the same without having some steaks here. So I recommended that if you do come here, you must and mandatory have some steaks. This is their specialty and it's the only way I think to properly rate this place. Otherwise, it's unfair to them. Please, have a steak if you show up to this place? If you aren't going to have a piece of their steak don't show up. Also it is an expensive place and of course that's the reason why you go there. You know it's the place to pay up for an experience with steaks. So let's not complain about the cost or prices here. It you don't want to spend the money don't come to places like this. read more

Wow, what a great meal/evening. The Bronchos executed the Raiders in short order and we ended up at our dinner reso an hour early. We had dinner resos with a view reserved for Sunday nt football (we thought in the bar) but the bar area was taken up by a private party. The hostess (?Melissa) was sooo nice and accommodating. The dining room was not even open for an hour. She took my buddy in anyway and she let him pick out our future table. In about 20 min she left her post and found us, and took us to our table--well ahead of opening time! Our waitress was equally impressive. She brought us drinks, asked if we had any time commitments. We said no but that we weren't really hungry yet and planned to take our time as we watched the football game. She said, " I'll just check on you guys about every 10 minutes"--and she did for over 2 hours! A note--french fries and 3 delectable dipping sauces come to each table-free. We munched on these and then ordered a wedge salad and "crab cake" app to share (my friend had been here before so we knew they were big enough to share). Wedge salad was very good. The crab cake was really a huge pile of the most tasty lump crab I have ever had--not like any crab cake I have ever had before-no filler--just enough spice to leave a wonderful taste in your mouth. I had to delay my second old fashioned to savor the crab cake flavor! After a significant break I had the scallops and my friend had the Lobster special. He had it deshelled and sliced for him and it still filled the whole oversized plate. I haven't seen a lobster this big since sailing to Anagota in the BVI! My scallop dish was also significantly oversized (7 large diver scallops) and delicious/cooked perfectly--finally a scallop dish that didn't leave me wanting just one more. We had duck fried rice as a side--very tasty-a touch spicy with generous morsels of duck but too much with the giant seafood entrees. A phenomenal meal in every way. Yes it was expensive but worth it. I would definitely come back. read more

Pretty good steak place but nothing to write home about. I shared the tomahawk steak with a friend and it was cooked just alright. Some places on the bone and interior were definitely closer to rare or blue while the exterior was well done. The sauces were good pairings but I feel like the meat should stand out more on its own. The sides were bomb though. Loved the whipped potatoes and truffle Mac. You could taste the truffles! The duck fat fries were so good, I wished I got more of those. read more

The restaurant is inside Mandalay Bay and is really designed for convention goers. Service was good but a little slow and the food was exceptional. Steaks are obviously number one all the way up to a Wagyu five a which is quite pricey if you're up to it, but there are several other options available as well. It's ala carte so sides are extra but the portions are definitely shareable for up to 4. Overall, we had a great meal and we would definitely go back again. Very good! I will say it was very pricey though. Be prepared to spend a decent amt of dough coming here. I liked looking at the steaks being cooked and diff meat options. Minus a star as I didn't notice bread, I think fresh hot bread is a must at a place like this. They did bring us some free appetizers because it was taking awhile though, so that was cool. read more

This is absolutely my favorite steak place. Honestly, the filet mignon is my favorite in the world. I have never had a better one. It's cooked to perfection. All the sides are good - you really can't go wrong with them. I do miss the au gratin potatoes the used to serve; hopefully they will bring them back. Most recently we had the lobster add on with the steak and it was top notch. I highly recommend the cucumber martini - another item where I have not found a better one elsewhere. They also have an excellent selection of wine. We have also visited the last two Thanksgivings and they served a special one night dessert - pumpkin bread pudding. I would come back for that alone. A must visit Steakhouse! The food is done to perfection. All the food is meticulously prepared and takes time so the meal will take some extra time. It is one of the more expensive options in the area but it is well worth the expense. The staff are friendly and make sure you are well taken care of which adds to the calm atmosphere. Its been almost 10 years since coming back to this steakhouse. this time to celebrate father's day for my brother. The quality hasn't changed, still amazing and still super friendly staff. The appetizer fries were the best!!! duck fat fries with awesome dipping sauces. we shared the truffle au jus prime rib 90.00 and the Porterhouse. Both were amazing and this way we get to share 3 types of meat, the NY strip, filet, and ribeye sections. sides were better than average but nothing super exciting. pork belly fried rice, truffle mac and cheese, and mushrooms. Lobster roll app was really good too, it looked more like a sushi lobster roll which caught me by surprise b/c i thought it was going to look like a roll sandwich type. I like their steak knives too, it was heavy sharp and minimalistic. I even googled their steak knifes after and they were like 170.00 for a 3 piece set. read more

Whenever we stay at W Las Vegas, we have dinner at Stripsteak at Mandalay Bay. Beautiful, open area, comfortable seating. attentive staff, the best servers, & scrumptious food. I intended to pick the planet Hollywood to review. Not mandalas bay. Hostess was not dressed for the ambiance of this steak house. She had high boots and a leather jacket reminding us of a Biker hostess. The first Espresso martini, came is shakers and we were able to pour a 1 and a half martini glasses each. The second order we received only a glass and mine was only 3/4 full. bait and hook on the drinks. Expected the same quality the second time but was disappointed. Service was fantastic besides shorting the espresso martini. Jazz music background- didn't hear it until til I focused for this review art around the dining area was captivating. read more
