This restaurant is also handicapped accessible and BYOB!!! To start our waitress brought us out some warm bread and butter. For dinner we ordered a medium bacon pizza and a cold cut combo wrap. Having never tried Mona Lisa, I was pleasantly surprised when we picked up a cheese pizza for an office party! Good flavor and a thick layer of cheese. I really appreciated the option to order curbside pickup too. I'm curious to try more from here and we'll be ordering it at the office more often! read more

Best pizza place In Thomaston hands down! Catered some events with them and food is always a hit. The pizza & food is always delicious! Lovely ambiance and atmosphere plus byob is always great! Mona Lisa is a very cute restaurant in downtown Thomaston. It actually has street parking with a gap to open your door without fear of passing traffic. It is street parking though, so that's not always there. There are easily ten tables inside, and they can be pushed together for larger groups. Food can also be ordered to go. They have pizza and pastas, although Ive only tried the pizza. The crust is not too thick and gets cooked with a nice crunch. The menu is large with a lot of options in sauces and toppings, but doesn't seem to suffer for quality. Now I'm just looking for an opportunity to try a pasta dish.... And salsa as a pizza topping! The pizza is always great! Sometimes on Mondays (their large pizza special night) they say pick up time is longer than it is, so if you do that maybe go in after 20mins of calling the order in so you get it fresher. It's always been good! read more

I would give 3.5 stars if I could. Been here to take out 3 times and there has been a problem with the order 2 of the 3 times, otherwise, the food is very good. Oddly enough, both issues had to do with eggplant! The first was that they totally forgot my eggplant parmigiana. It comes with a side of pasta which I ordered with just butter and garlic (no red sauce). When I went all the way back to restaurant they claimed I didn't order the eggplant. They stood there arguing with me for 10 minutes instead of offering to make it. (I didn't ask for it for free.). This last time we ordered an eggplant pizza. Guess what? They didn't have eggplant. I'm not aware of an eggplant shortage but it's certainly possible. Anyway, we got artichoke and fresh garlic pizza and it was very good. We always order the Four Season salad. It's one of the best salads anywhere! Choice of many dressings. The other issue, and this is just on me, is that they're closed on Tuesdays and that's the day I'm in town during the week. On a whim, we tried out this restaurant in downtown Thomaston. Gotta say it's a mystery that this placed wasn't packed. The portions were absolutely huge, and the food was amazing. Starting with the homemade bread, followed by a huge bowl of Mona Lisa soup (piping hot and chock full of chicken, rice, spinach, with homemade croutons), and then the entrees came out. The food was hot and delicious and as mentioned, huge portions. My wife and I both have several days of leftovers... I would highly recommend this establishment!! read more

My wife and I were in town to ride the train nearby and stopped here for lunch. Immediately upon entering the quaint little place, I was stricken with how neat and presentable they were. Real linen table clothes (though I don't know if they switch them out after every guest leaves), fake brickwork walls, and Memorial Day decorations all gave forth the image that they care about their appearance. The wait staff was friendly, though one had a propensity to swear a lot behind the counter or in the kitchen and it was quite easy to hear in the dining room. We were the only two people there on a Saturday afternoon, which I thought was very strange. We ordered a medium calzone, though it was quite large, and easily fed both of us with some to take home. It took about 25 minutes to arrive, and was covered with parm cheese, garlic powder, and perhaps breadcrumbs. It was an odd presentation of a calzone, but it tasted excellent. Because of the way it was made, all the mozz. cheese was on one side, most of the bread/crust was on the other, and the toppings were in the middle. When you slice it, keep that in mind for even filling distribution per slice. If you want a "cute" Italian place, this is a good option. read more

I went here twice. At first, I was a little sketchy about going here, as there were no reviews on Yelp...now there is. Atmosphere - Modern, art-sy, pizza shop, red, clean, tablecloth, booths. Food - The menu selection is extensive with their variety of pasta dishes, specialty pizzas, salads, and hoagies. FYI, they do offer pizza by the slice. I had pasta on my first visit and the pizza on the second. The pasta, recommended by the waitress, was rotini pasta in vodka sauce, w/ grilled chicken. The portion was very large for lunch and would have easily made a meal for the next day. There was a decent amount of grilled chicken and the vodka sauce was very good. On the second visit, I had the small pizza, which could have been a medium, topped w/ pepperoni and prosciutto. It was very good, but I did note that the crust became tough as it sat. Service - I had the same waitress on both visits. She was pleasant and quick serving despite being the only server in a slightly busy restaurant. Overall - Mona Lisa is a good place to go despite there being plenty of other choices for pizza in the area. read more

I always recommend Mona Lisa for their excellent pizza. I have not had it in a while and had a craving today. I love that they give full pieces of sausage and not the usual sausage crumbles. Today though I was disappointed. Yes the sausage was the big pieces (thank you for that) but the crust was thinner than usual and had way too much corn meal underneath.Also it seems like the mozzarella may be reduced fat because it had no flavor and was almost clear. When I am having pizza I want full fat cheese!! I of course will give them another chance but if I have the same experience I will have to find somewhere else. read more

I'm always on the look out for a place that can make a salad with something more then a bowl full of iceberg lettuce. I opted for the chicken adna salad from Mona Lisa's and it was delicious. I have visited this restaurant for more than 5 occasions and not once have had an unpleasant experience. They have the greatest pizza in the area hands down. The food quality and taste are amazing and you won't be disappointed trust me. I travel a lot and I know my food. All Foods are prepared fresh and I truly recommend baked eggplant sorrenitino if you like eggplant, as far as hot sandwiches I always get Philly steak and it's always delicious. I'll give you some reasons: The food is reasonably priced and tasty, servers are always attentive, and the owner/chef is a very generous person who clearly cares for his customers and staff. Just moved to thomaston tried these guys two times because guess who's not cooking until we are unpacked ‍ the pizza crust was spot on, coming from ny I can confidently say that, the sauce is missing something, salt it seemed like, the vodka sauce was weird.... and the meatballs also strange. The bread however omg.... we ordered three LOAVES the second time around, oddly enough the bread they included with the pasta was better than the loaf bread we received but it is what it is. The delivery guys were kind, the girl on the phone also helpful, and sweet. Somethings gotta change in the kitchen as far as I'm concerned this place would be 5 stars with a few changes, they have great staff, "good" food- maybe a change in the right direction will kick it up a notch or two. Nice place except in the winter when the front door will not seal properly! The food was well cooked & tasty in line with its prices. Service was attentive and accommodating. Never had the pizza so don't base the review on that. Have attended with parties of 12 or so regularly - no problems mate! I would say the food here is lukewarm at best. I ordered the cheese a few times and that was alright, nothing outstanding. I did order a buffalo chicken pizza once that looked like a dog chewed the meat and was just thrown on there as such. Would I order from here again? If I needed to. I'm not a huge fan of Italian food, but this place makes the best Seafood Tursh on the face of the planet. I've had it twice and it's loaded with seafood and has just enough kick to the sauce. Their portions are generous and the wait staff usually takes pretty good care of you. The only downfall to this place is that there is no liquor license. Because I don't drink anyway, it's not a problem for me, but for others the BYOB policy might be irksome. Overall a fantastic little find in Thomaston. read more
