First time at a Monical's pizza. It was about what I expected. The interior has a very "mom and pop shop" feel. Almost like a small town pizza joint. The place is a lot bigger on the inside than I thought it was! I got a "individual pleaser" which has different options but I got the 8" pizza, salad, and drink. The salad was just shredded lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, and dressing. If it had croutons it would've been better! But overall, not bad - again that mom and pop shop feel. The pizza was good, about what I expected. It came out HOT and the crust was crispy. For $15 (with tax and tip) I was pretty happy. I'll be back. I would love to try the lunch buffet and some of their garlic or cheese breads. Only downside - they were pretty busy when I was in there and it seemed like they only had one server attending the Dining room so I never got a refill on my drink, but he was very nice and my order was correct. It's crisp but not too crisp. I found myself fighting the urge for just one more piece. I visited on my lunch break and met Matt Guthrie at the front. I explained that it was my first time and asked him to give me the rundown on what makes Monical's great. Matt shared some of his favorites at Monical's and told me they have a great lunch buffet with all-you-can-eat pizza and a drink for 10.99 on the weekdays. Came to grab a personal pizza for lunch, and noticed the have a lunch buffet. If I had more time, I definitely would try it. I was greeted immediately with a smile, but there are no menus so you just have to guess on what they offer. It is a pizza place, so it would be easy to guess, but it is still nice having one in front of you when you're somewhere new. Ended up getting a personal veggie pizza and an order of garlic cheese bread. The cheese bread is delicious, and somehow the marinara to dip it in is even better. It's is crispy and light, cheesy and well seasoned. The pizza was also great. I love pan pizza because of the crust, and this one doesn't disappoint. The veggies are fresh and there's a good cheese:sauce ratio. I also noticed that they sell frozen pizzas. There is a vintage pizza feel inside, and I could see this being a great place for families. Perhaps it was because I'd spent the entire morning and much of the afternoon apartment hunting and that experience is almost always atrocious. Or perhaps it was because I hadn't eaten anything all day, so by the time I got there around 2:45 I was so hungry I could fart fresh air. But I thought this place was terrific. It's set back a little off State Road 37, so if you're flying by in your car you'd probably miss it. But it's worth the stop. The service provided by Layla was very good. The restaurant was very clean and looked orderly. I ordered a thin crush specialty pizza called a Delight, which is essentially a deluxe without every possible bell and whistle (they have another one that does have every possible topping). I asked if they'd be kind enough to substitute onions (which I hate) for black olives (which I like), and they did so without an upcharge, so I thought that was nice. Throw in an iced tea and a decent tip, and the freight came in around $30. Totally worth it. The pizza was just really good. The toppings were generously proportioned and tasted fresh. The sauce was not too sweet, but not too tangy. The crust didn't taste like a salt bomb. It was just plain old good pizza. I ordered a 12-inch and ate every bit of it. I'd recommend this place to quite literally anyone, even pizza snobs who want to argue about NY pizza versus Chicago pizza versus Detroit-style pizza, etc etc etc. No, it's no Jockamo's or Bazbeaux. My wife and I have been here numerous times. We get a thin crust pepperoni. We usually have a female server that is awesome and we have a nice meal without much fanfare. Last time we went our server was very nice young man. However, my biggest issue is when server's are real handsy with my food. His thumb was literally on the plate he brought. The kitchen is not going to win any cleanliness awards. In today's world it's paramount that the young people have a few classes on cleanliness! When we arrived I thought they were closed because no one was in there, however we were quickly greeted and taken care of. The service was great and the food was excellent. We got our food promptly. The environment was a downfall. With no one in the restaurant, I would have expected a cleaner place. Spilled drinks on the floor, food on the floor, and walking back to the bathroom looked rough. Not well maintained. Random fridge in a doorway, half stocked service stations. Overall I am giving it five stars and benefit of the doubt. Monical's has been one of our favorite local pizza place to meet up with friends. We learned several years ago that their family pleaser easily satisfies a party of 4, for only $25 plus tip. You get a pizza, large bowl of salad to share and a pitcher of soda. We get the deep dish, and often leave with at least one or 2 pieces of pizza to take home. Most of us are full after eating a bowl of salad and a piece of pizza. The deep dish IS a lot of crust. The place is pretty much ran by local teens, but we have never had a server that wasn't cheerful and pleasant. We've been here many, many times over the years and always had great service. I really only have 2 issues that keep me from giving them 5 stars. First, they freeze the tomatoes that they use on their salad. It makes them absolutely disgusting. Mushy tomatoes make me gag. They didn't use to do that, when we first discovered them, and the salad was SO good. Then they started freezing them for some strange reason and it just totally ruined it. Secondly, when it's cold outside, the whole front of the restaurant is really cold and drafty. But they only want larger parties to sit in the back. A phenomenal hit, without miss every time. The pizzas, (1) 14", (2) 8", were cooked in a manner which honored and accentuated the reputation of Monical's Pizza. Certainly, one could find something to complain about regarding any eatery. However, if you possess over half a brain, you can recognize that restaurants are there to provide great food, not conduct white-glove inspections or hire 5 star staff. Nevertheless, I bring all of my out of state friends to Monical's as a means of showcasing that there's more than corn in Indiana. My husband had to wait an additional 20 mins on our pizza on top of the estimated time. I believe they tried to make it right by giving us some wings....my husband said they just handed them to him. Awesome gesture which is appreciated but the wings were not good. Very chewy and thick mushy skin. We all said the pizza was good, but not that good. I gave it a 6 out of 10. We have always been fans of Monical's. My wife's family is from Illinois, so we've been eating it for years. We moved here from Avon where customer service and delivery was always great. This Fishers location has some serious staffing issues. Customer service and communication on deliveries is poor. If something is going to take an hour fine, if it's 90 minutes, we can plan for that, but to be told 45 minutes and then I have to call to get an update after 90 min that our pizzas are on the ways...you're in a service driven business. On top of that, when I called she was rude and short. I would not recommend this location and I hope the owners pay attention to their brand and make staffing changes. read more

I was driving by and saw this place and couldn't resist stopping. I love their thin crust pizza. It is more expensive than most pizza chains but definitely worth the extra money in my opinion. This is one of my favorite pizza places-you know, the one you crave. I look forward to being on that side of town because it has always been worth the drive. I hate to admit that tonight I was disappointed. The kids pizza was undercooked and although they offered to bake some more, there was no adjustment to our price. I used to go to Monicals pizza in fishers all of the time in high school but I went here recently and was just not impressed anymore. I ordered the wings and they very fatty and barely had any meat on them at all. My boyfriend ordered the mighty meat pizza and it didn't have a good flavor and just looked to be thrown together at the last minute. Also the peanut butter cookies had no flavor and tasted stale. Wife and I ordered from here a few months ago since we live down the street. When picking up my pizza, I asked the guy if paying $20+ for a pizza was worth it. He said "it's the best pizza place in Indy..." I took his word for it and couldn't wait to eat the pizza. I took a bite out of the first slice and noticed the dough was straight up raw. I called the place back and they said they'd make me a new one. I was ok with that and went back to the place. The guy said "hey sorry man...sucks it was your first time too..." Found this place a while ago. Love their thin crust Hawaiian added bacon and green olives. I love the oregano they add. It's true...this is not a fancy place, but a pizza joint. My husband was not a fan of pan pizza crust tonight. It was a little greasy for his taste. But he does like the thin crust when he ordered it. They put plenty of toppings on so every bit has all your toppings. Just the way I like it. The thin crust is not overly saucy.
