Great food, great service, and really friendly people! The ambiance isn't overly romantic or swanky, but it's clean and comfortable. My daughter requested to go there for her birthday dinner--she's obsessed with their fettuccini alfredo--but I had already bought her a cake. They have several really amazing desserts on the menu, so I figured they wouldn't be happy about us bringing our own. Haven't been to any Puccinis for years. This happens to be a favorite place of a friend we were taking out for birthday dinner. Service was very good. Restaurant was clean. Breadsticks and nacho cheese were good. Pizza had way too much garlic. After awhile garlic was all I could taste. I also wish they had browned the smoke sausage before adding it to the pizza. We had a large group and needed a place with pasta (per group request). We also had some large families that didn't want to break the bank. So we did some research on Yelp and found Puccini's. Our server was friendly and offered some suggestions and recommendations. The food wasn't fast, but it wasn't super slow either. Everyone liked what they ordered! Several had pasta with meatballs (& meat sauce), a few small pizzas and several kids meals. Side salads were good (I had blue cheese dressing and I loved that they added blue cheese crumbles - very nice touch). I've sort of started a Yelp commitment to update some of my older reviews now that I've hit my 10th anniversary of being a Yelp Elite. I was in the mood for pizza today and decided that a revisit to Clearwater's location of Puccini's Smiling Teeth was in order. Puccini's Smiling Teeth is that rarity that is both a "local" joint and a small chain of restaurants. Started in 1991 with a spot in the Greenbriar area of Indianapolis and followed shortly by this location, Puccini's now has more than a dozen locations in Indiana and Kentucky and was really part of that first wave of slightly more upscale pizza options in Central Indiana that has really exploded in the last few years. I remember wondering how Puccini's would do once Giordano's arrived in this area and with Napolese not far away. They've all three managed to peacefully co-exist for several years now. Puccini's is located in a strip center and is what I'd call a mid-scale Italian restaurant more along the lines of a place like Some Guys. In fact, the vibe very much reminds me of Some Guys. They have appetizers, pizza, calzones, gluten free options, chicken dinners, pasta dinners, sandwiches, soups/salads, a kids' menu, and a fairly new beer menu. As you enter their space, you arrive in a dining room with booths along the side and tables in the middle of the modestly sized yet decently spaced restaurant. Classic rock was playing in the background. I arrived pretty much when they opened at noon on a Sunday. I immediately appreciated that they offer a pizza size perfect for one person that starts at $6.40 for cheese and goes up according to toppings. As I tend to be a fairly basic eater, I ordered a small pepperoni pizza along with a 1/2 order of garlic bread and my usual unsweetened iced tea. The 1/2 order of garlic bread was fairly modest in size, however, it was very nicely done. It did come out before the pizza arrived (as I would want). The pizza seemed a little thicker than I remember - maybe I'm wrong, but I really liked it. Andrew was my server. He was super friendly, checked in on me, made sure I had the iced tea refill, and was just positive in all ways. The decor here is casual but warm and inviting. I was the second party in the restaurant today, however, by the time I was leaving several others had arrived. I felt very comfortable and was able to enjoy my meal and do some casual reading. I also know that Puccini's is very active in terms of supporting fundraisers for non-profits and schools. I love that. They are a local restaurant that acts like a local restaurant. I recall being a little underwhelmed with my last visit. This was a very solid visit with good pizza, good garlic bread, very good customer service, and a warm/winning atmosphere. Thus, I'm feeling led to up my rating a bit from a 3-star to a 4-star. I will also note that they have daily lunch specials Monday-Friday and they offer options for both meat lovers and those who prefer veggies. This was definitely a good experience and it certainly won't be as long this time around until I return. read more

We got a gift card so we ended up here for dinner and it exceeded my expectations by far. We got garlic bread with alfredo sauce to dip in (is that weird idk lol) and the alfredo sauce was honestly amazing. We got one of the shrimp pizzas and the twice baked and both were so tasty and unique. Our favorite was the twice baked. Something about the sauce made it one of the best pizzas we've ever had. By far the worst pizza I have ever ordered here, and I have been eating Puccini's since the late 90's. I can't believe that they put out this product. No rosemary, the smoked sausage looked like it was cut paper thin. No onion marmalade, pizza was dry as a popcorn fart! This place is really bad. Waste your money somewhere else. I can only rate my attempt to get pizza from Puccini's. I was planning to call and place a pickup order. I found out that they were not doing call ins or pickup orders anymore. I spent a long time placing the order, but when I started to pay with a credit card, I somehow got into PayPal. Since I didn't remember my password, i went around in circles with PayPal. I gave up and called into another restaurant where they took my order over the phone. Certainly my senior mind was responsible for part of the confusion about paying. In fact, I used to live right behind this place and it was always one of my favorite spots. This is where I first discovered their vodka cream sauce, which I love having them put on Glgiant ravioli. I observed the same staff that was taking orders, collecting money, answering phones, opening doors to obtain additional food in the back area of kitchen immediately touch lettuce, croutons and other raw veggies with his bare hands. I absolutely love Puccini's a king if hearts pizza! I also love that they offer a gluten free crust option. I often call in orders for carry out. Tonight a friend and I decided to dine in. When we arrived the restaurant was just less than half full. Young man walked up to us and said how many and took off towards a table and plopped the menus down and walked away. The table we were seated at was dirty and when the server came I asked if it could be wiped off. They seemed a little put off at me asking and said that they would ask their busser to do it. This is my Go-To spot when I'm in the mood to sit down for pizza. The atmosphere is casual and quirky. The original art all over the walls always makes me smile no matter how many times I've seen it. The servers are always professional and polite. Food comes out super quick especially if they are not busy. I love that they offer half orders of bread because I'm always too indecisive to choose between breadsticks or cheesy garlic bread. I always get a half order of each. Their ranch is made in house and is the best dressing on the planet. I could almost drink it if my craving was ever enough. I've never had something from the menu that I didn't absolutely love. Ordered a large cheese pizza and dinner salad for carry out. Order was predicted for a 10-15 minute pickup. Got there around the 12-15 minute mark. I live about 10 minutes away. The pizza was cold and tasted as if it had been sitting out all day and reheated. I know that is not the case- just trying to explain the not-at-all fresh pizza I had received. The cheese had no movement to it! It was as if you had ordered a single slice from a stadium and all they do is reheat it. Disappointing but every place has its "off" days. What I don't get though is why they hadn't dried their lettuce properly before putting it in a to go container. I had to pour a bit of water into a cup- and the water has a yellowish tint to it. I can't upload the video of the watering being poured into the cup but I have some screenshots. Needless to say, I tossed the salad (ha) and only had half a slice of pizza.
