Ate here on the recommendations from yelp. Very happy we did. Amazing pizza, friendly staff, very clean. An added plus for us it's on the lake so access when your out snowmobiling is easy as can be. If your in Minocqua and in the mood for great pizza I highly recommend! On a side note something we noticed when we were walking in. I believe it was the owner she was helping a customer out. He was elderly and needing the use of a walker. I found it very heart warming to see the compassion she had for her customers. We eat there every time we come to Minocqua. Took a group of 9 not a long wait and services was great. Food was spectacular as usual.

Jackie, the owner, was so rude to our family. The restaurant was dead and we ordered ahead on our way out of town. Asked to eat there as our three kids were in for a full day of car rides and even though the place had many open tables she would not let us sit down. Even after we said we would double pay eat in tax and tip. Lady is on a power trip. We will never go back there or recommend. Service is not a priority. read more

We walked in around lunch time and the place stunk like sewer poo. We thought maybe someone had a stomach problem since the place is small. It was hard to get our food down with the stench. After a while when the smell never dissipated, we thought maybe ther was a sewer back up. Then my friend ate there and she found a dark hair cooked in the cheese on her pizza. She lifted the cheese to find about 5 more hairs. If you find that many hairs on your food, it had to be put there on purpose. This place is GROSS! We will never eat ther again and I will tell my friends not to either. read more

This has been bothering me for the last week, and when I went to post a review I was astonished to find the people who I was going to post about had left a completely inaccurate and hostile review. I don't know who Stefanie J is, nor do I ever hope to. I was enjoying my regular fabulous pie with my wife and kids. We always come to Monical's because of the awesome pizza and courteous service. The owners name is Jackie, not Becky, but I don't fault this Stephanie J for not remembering. What I do fault Stefanie J for is coming in with food from McDonalds, and at least 1 other restaurant and being unbelievably rude about it. Who brings in food to a restaurant from other restaurants? We always hope Jackie is there when we are as she is fabulous, courteous, and very funny. If I was a cop I would have written this Stefanie J a ticket for littering, as she left her "brought in trash" outside the front door. We can't wait till our next visit to Monicals !!!! I was so excited for their gluten free pizza and I was not disappointed. My family had a veggie pizza and tortellini. Their pizza was loaded with goodies. The tortellini was basic but not much to it. We will definitely go back. read more

I do not have kids and I have no problem with kids but due to the low ceilings and tightness of this restaurant I will never go back due to the noise from kids. The few times we tried it there was always some family letting their kids run wild and screaming while people were trying to eat. This place by no means has a Chuck E Cheese vibe but it seems to be a free for all for inattentive parents on vacation. Now don't get me wrong, I get it. You are on vacation. You want to relax. The kids want to have fun. But I am just saying that for the money you are spending on dinner, the quality of food, and the atmosphere that it brings; well either get a Dominos pizza from in town or head to a nicer restaurant if you are looking for a quieter place. Now if you are looking for a family friendly place and you don't care how much a pizza costs, then this is the place for you. The pizza was pretty good. We got thin crust. It came out quickly and had a good amount of toppings. The cheddar nuggets were a little disappointing because they weren't very crispy. The restaurant itself is very cute and has a great view of the lake. Our waitress was great. Holy deliciousness! We arrived at around 4:30 on Sunday and the parking . When we walked inside it was busy but not as busy as I had expected when looking at the parking lot. I commented to my mother how everyone must had driven separately. We were seated in a little less than five minuets . BEAUTIFUL view of the lake where we were seated . We ordered a large pizza for the grown ups (sausage and green olives half pepperoni) and a cheese pizza for the kiddies. Also got a side salad and am order of garlic bread for before the meal. The side salad was super fresh. Nice array of lettuce, carrots and cheese. I opted for there famous dressing which was much like a French and it was very good. The garlic bread was nice and toasty and the sauce hmmmm. I wanted to eat it like soup. Now the star of the show was the pizza. Oh Lord that was amazing. Some of the best pizza Ive had in a long time if not my entire life. The crust was so thin and crispy. Nice amount of toppings. Sausage was super good. My 2 year old niece ended up eating off the grown up pizza because she loved susage so much. For a first she didnt have food all over the floor(don't worry I always clean 5he floor when she does make a mess). I also had a Kettle and diet, which was well made and when the bill a river was less than 4 bucks. Wish i would have know how inexpensive the cocktail was I would have had a few more . Great pizza! I have celiac disease, and they had one of the best gluten free pizzas I've had so far! You couldn't even tell it was. My husband and I really enjoyed our food. First time here and pizza tastes vary widely. First, best THIN crust I can recall having. We ordered The Special and first reaction was "where's the meat?" I forgot to write about this happenin' little pizza joint from when I was here this winter. Easily the best pizza north of Madison. Their thin crust is so crispy and delicious and their toppings are super fresh. And of course, their cheese is fantastic. Just all around great pizza that doesn't skimp on anything. I went in with my family this winter and we got salads and bread and giant pizzas and just gorged ourselves. We went to Monical's on a Tuesday with a party of 10. We were told 1-1.5 hours. It ended up being closer to 2. The bartender was busy, pretty rude. I tried making a couple jokes with him and that got me nowhere. We finally get seated and our server was eh. She was clearly busy and didn't have much time for us. The water I ordered never came, after a couple asks. Our pizza took quite awhile. The table next to us complained while we were sitting because their food had taken over 45 min to cook. The hostess offered some lame excuse to them- not an apology. We waited for our table longer than they did, waited for our food for about as long and not once were we even acknowledged by her. She had a look of general annoyance at everyone. I've seen the rave reviews for Monical's. It's why we gave them a shot. But the pizza was only okay and the service was definitely not worth the over 3.5 hours we spent there. I would also like to add I worked in the restaurant industry for years- hostess, server, bartender. I know first hand how taxing a busy night can be. Still zero excuse for such rudeness and for such mediocre food. If you have a larger party this place is not the place for you. read more

Monicals pizza is borderline legendary. The thin crust is outrageously good. I've never had thick crust because I haven't felt the need to lol. There bread sticks used to be way better. It was like a loaf of almost a pretzel bread cut up and buttered and garlic. Now there actual sticks and there not the same. There cheddar and nacho cheese dip is great as well. Everyone goes ga-gas for the thin crust here but I always get my own thick (so high-maintenance!) but I assume both are good. You will develop an almost frightening addiction to this pizza. Don't expect service with a smile, especially in the summer, this place cranks out HUGE numbers of locals and tourists alike. Worth the wait for both drinks (the pinot grigio comes in a practical FISHbowl!) and pizza, and I hardly ever say that. Has the BEST THIN CRUST PIZZA We found it by accident and the pizza was truly the best I have ever had. We love thin crust. The staff is incredible. The mother son team owners made you feel like you had lived in the north woods your whole life. They will talk to you like you are the only one in the room. THAT IS SERVICE. We ordered two large thin-crust pizzas for pickup the other day. I've visited the area for over 35 years and had never stopped here. Let me be honest...the pizza was delicious. And it was the perfect meal to feed the adults and kids. Everyone raved about it. It was a bit pricey in my opinion , but they had our pizza done on-time, they wrapped it in aluminum foil and a pizza box, and it was still hot when we got home. We visited Monicals with a group of 12 last night for pizza . 36 drinks, 24 shots of tequila, 2 baskets of garlic breadsticks and 4 pizza's. The pizza was excellent, but the Parmesan cheese was stuck in the shakers- requiring each person to bang it on the table in order to get cheese out. While it was an inconvenience, our group still managed to enjoy the meal. Sadly, 2 slightly overweight and balding drunks at the bar claiming to be owners, threatened us with physical violence and then removed the cheese and pepper shakers before we finished our meal. We were bullied, told our apologies were "not accepted" and that we would never amount to anything in life. They followed us to our cars, and exposed themselves for who they really were as we drove away. I gave the decor one star and the server 5 stars, I cried most of the night. read more

I have given them one star because zero is not an option. The pizza is marginal at best, the sauce has too much sugar and the pan pizza is cooked enough. The service was horrible, although the place only had two other tables seated and one person at the bar it was at least 10 minutes before we were asked if we wanted anything.
